  1. because without changes made to halo, you wouldn't even have online multiplayer for halo in the first place.

In my opinion, Halo Combat Evolved is still the best game and it doesn't even have an online multiplayer.

  3. I simply hope that players who only have access to on-line occasionally, (like when visiting friends), won't be punished or hindered in gaining credits like they were with reach. Using your profile on reach on-line made it so that offline you were only able to get a total of 1,000 cR until the next time you logged on-line. And even if you never went on-line the amount of credits you could earn on-line compared to offline per day were ridiculous. Spending an hour online could easily net you 4-6k credits (Without any of the challenges), where as offline you were looking at 2-3k possibly. If you factored in the daily challenges and averaged the weekly there was no way you could possibly unlock most of the higher rank armor or all of the armor off-line before a new Halo was released, the exception being if you had way to much free time and no life.

I find it extremely frustrating since there is no broadband internet offered in my area or any of the surrounding areas with apartments for rent.

I agree with you! My son has an off-line xbox 360 in his room and he often says the same thing :-)

  4. If a person is involved in an online matchmaking game in which they are getting repeatedly spawn killed and have absolutely no possibillity of competing due to bad connection or poor player level matching then I feel they should be allowed to quit out of that. I know if I were involved in a game like that I would probably quit or park ... no sense in continuing. Are we really so sadistic that we want to force a person to continue playing in a game like that?

Everyone should be allowed to have fun ... that's what it's all about :-)

  5. But i think banning is totally ethical because some people just don't get the message without banning.

You know Substandard IQ, if xbox live were provided free of charge and all the matchmaking provided free of charge I would have no problem agreeing with you, but when I forked over $120 cold hard earned US dollars for a year of XBL and the video game it became a different story. I know the "code of conduct" and "terms of service" state that they can legally rob me but that doesn't make it right.

When I went into the store to buy Halo 3 everyone told me about how great it was but absolutely no one told me nor does it state anywhere on the packaging that the makers of this game can actually ban me from playing it even though I just paid $60 dollars for the right to do so. This isn't ethical no matter how you slice it.

I want to make it clear. I'm not talking about people who really cheat. Like those who use evil controlers and lag switches and such ... these people should be banned. I'm talking about people who just quit or park. This is not cheating and shouldn't warrent a ban.

  6. I think he means when you get credit banned because you don't get enough kills in matchmaking games and the game thinks you're AFK so you get credit banned, even though you were playing.

Yes, and if you use the camo armour ability (play a camo game) then you can very easily come away with only a few kills, if any.

  7. Well if they do continue banning people (which I sincerely hope they don't) I hope FFA (free-for-all) matches will be exempt from the quit ban system bot or whatever it is that detects these things. Who cares if someone quits an FFA match?

In-game joining would eliminate quit banning.

Credit rewards based on score (no score - no credits) would eliminate credit banning (idle boosting).

BTW, and this is just me but I feel it's better for a team mate whom is getting repeatedly spawned killed (due to bad internet connection, lack of skill, etc.) to quit than cost my team the game.

Just no good reason for quit banning.

  8. Attention 343 Industries:

Please develop halo 4 multiplayer so that it will no longer be nessasary to quit/credit ban people who have paid good money to play this game. It seems unethical to sell someone a product then ban them when they can't use it correctly. Not only unethical just down right mean. I know of no other major game maker that does this.

Multiplayer problems can be resolved without resorting to banning people.

    Thank you.

  9. Oh, by the way, I almost forgot the most important part ... and I hate to do this but I must ... NO BANNING, NO BANNING, NO BANNING! If you must ban somebody then ban those who really cheat with the use of evil controllers, lag switches and such.

Quitters and AFK's are not cheaters ... just quitters. Idle boostring can be done away with by giving credits based on kills/score ... no kills - no credits. 100 - 200 credits a kill seems about right to me. Certain kills could be rewarded more than others depending on difficulty or rank of player killed etc.

As much as I like the Halo franchise, and I have all the games, I will not buy Halo 4 if it includes any type of banning of quitters/afk's.

  10. I would like to see a "Combat Training" multiplayer game type like there is in COD:Black Ops. You would play against AI opponents and get to set your own difficulty level. This would be a great way for people with a poor or bad internet connection to have fun in a multiplayer enviroment without having to worry about getting spawn killed over and over - not fun.

It would also be great to have the ability to drop Elites, Brutes, Jackels, and Grunts into custom or forge maps to battle - a sort of Garry's Mod for Halo.

    Thanks.
