[Halo Combat Evolved and Anniversary Technical Help]

i am playing halo ce anniversary and i am having problems on the level were u have to throw grenades in to shafts i am having trouble seeing as it is to bright no matter what setting i use it is also causing me problems to see the main menu i cant even bring up a pause menu as all i get is a bright white screen
