I apologize for this being in the middle of the week again, but I'm going to be away from Friday morning to Sunday morning, so I'm doing it now. Anyways, I found some really good stories this week so let's get on into it! I'd like to thank Bnus for filling in for me last week, it's appreciated Bnus! Here we go!

View attachment: WNW 73114.JPG

Watch_Dogs DLC Location hinted at on Twitter

Watch_Dogs may be heading to a new location in a DLC releasing this fall, transferring out of Chicago and unto the streets of New Jersey. According to Polygon.com, Watch_Dogs' Twitter stated how Camden, New Jersey had the absolute highest crime rates of any city in the United States and how they (in-game Dedsec organization) would begin monitoring it. A fan soon asked if this was in relation to an add-on, and they responded with a fall release window for something. As for now, it is unknown whether this is DLC, a new game (unlikely), or just a statistic thrown out there completely unrelated to the Fall DLC.

View attachment: watch-dogs.jpg

What's your take on this, would a DLC in New Jersey be a good idea, or is a different city a better option? Let me know below!

Assassin's Creed: Rogue Listed on Swedish Retailer

Assassin's Creed Unity is hot on our heels for this fall, but we may have another Assassin's Creed game slipping under the rug. Previously known as Assassin's Creed Comet, IGN.com reports that a Swedish game retailer has listed the last generation exclusive as Assassin's Creed Rogue. It apparently launches October 28th, 2014, the same day as Unity on PS3 and Xbox 360 only. Information is scant, but from rumors, the game will serve as a direct sequel to Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and take place in New York. Rumors also say that the main protagonist will be a Templar, an odd move for the series. We still have yet to hear an official confirmation of Assassin's Creed Comet/Rogue's existence, but from the evidence, it seems likely we'll see more of the game soon.

View attachment: ACRogue.jpg

Would you like to see Rogue this year, or should Ubisoft take some time to develop the game properly and market it well so that it can be a true masterpiece? Debate below!

New Bioshock content teased by 2K United Kingdom

Those who have anticipated and are waiting for a new Bioshock will be excited to hear this news on the future of the game. Eurogamer.com reports that 2K UK's twitter feed showcased an interesting picture recently, a witty and condescending caption for a picture of a mermaid holding an apple with the words, "Come bite the apple!" on it. Anyone who's ever played the original Bioshock knows what this picture is a reference to, Eve's Garden in the original. Could this possibly mean a new game, or maybe a remaster sometime in the future, as the original Bioshock's 10 year anniversary is only a few years away? I personally cannot wait to see what lies Somewhere Beyond the Sea.

View attachment: bigdaddy.jpg

What are your hopes for the Bioshock franchise, who do you think should develop it? Discuss!

See the pun I made, 'Somewhere Beyond the Sea'? Ha... Ha... Ha yeah it's not too funny. ANYWAYS thanks for reading ladies and gentlemen, it's been a great show tonight, I'll see you all next week on the Weekly News Wrap-Up!

Deep Silver, famed for it's publishing of such titles as Metro: Last Light, Saints Row IV, and Dead Island will now be bringing Homefront: The Revolution to the stage, as the original developers have handed over the game to Deep Silver.

Crytek UK is having nothing short of massive problems, with employees being skimped on paychecks, employee strikes and refusals to work, and now after all that they are going to be forced to give the game to Deep Silver. IGN.com reports that not only has Deep Silver bought out all rights for the game, but they've picked up any, "Coherent assets from Crytek", meaning that the studio is now reshaping itself under Deep Silver, and is rumored to be a newer reformed studio in Nottingham called Dambuster Studios. This isn't the first time Deep Silver has picked up a game previously owned by THQ. Or even the second time they've bought a game that THQ originally owned. Homefront is the third game that Deep Silver has picked up in the wake of THQ's downfall, and so far they haven't done all that bad with their licenses. Saints Row IV did very well with critics, being praised over it's predecessor. Metro: Last Light did extremely well as well, making quite a few Game of the Year lists last year. The original Homefront didn't have a lot going for it, with competition with titles like Call of Duty and Battlefield, and a pretty lackluster overall game, it's easy to see why Homefront wasn't as successful as we were hoping. That's not to say Deep Silver hasn't had some shady moments. The release of Ride to Hell: Retribution was labeled as one of the worst games to ever exist, and Dead Island had similar reviews! Metro: Last Light's pre-order DLC and Saint's Row's massive amount of Add-On content hurt the reputation of both titles.

Do you trust Deep Silver with genuine successes like Metro and Saints Row behind their belt? Or have games like Ride to Hell and Dead Island soured your taste with them? Be sure to let me know below, thanks for reading!

Gearbox reveals their new IP: Battleborn!

Rather then going the safe route and developing a Borderlands 3 for Next Gen Consoles; Gearbox is mixing things up with a brand new IP. Battleborn a mix between Competitve FPS MOBA inspired Multiplayer, and Cooperative Campaign has you playing as a cast of characters all throughout the galaxy to fight for control for the last star producing light. Not much has been revealed and you can find more information in this months issue of GameInformer or at their website below. You can view a trailer down below

Son discovers fathers "ghost" in racing game

This isn't so much news but rather a really heartwarming story that means a lot to me as someone who played racing games with their dad nonstop in my childhood. A fellow gamer recently booted up his original xbox only to play a racing game him and his father used to play. During the game he found his fathers time trials ghost and raced to beat it. Eventually he actually beat it but rather then crossing the finish line he allowed his fathers ghost to pass him to further keep the memory of the fun times they used to have.

Bungie's Destiny may be ambitious but recent revealed plans show that you will carry your Guardian with you throughout the entire course of the franchise's lifespan. Although with each new game every player will start on the same footing to give new players an equal chance to enjoy the game as much as us Veteran Guardians. This kind of dedication to keeping your character alive shows that Bungie really does care about post launch support for their game and I can't wait to see what adventures they take us on!

It was soon announced that Martin was striking back with a heavy lawsuit, but VentureBeat.com reports that lawsuit isn't happening anymore. According to them, Martin reached a deal with Bungie's president Harold Ryan to cut Martin a grand total of 95,000 United States Dollars. This money compensates for Bungie policies not enacted, law settlements, and other debts to Martin. He had claimed that Bungie and Ryan owed him for policies like unused Vacation pay and absence funds.

I'm not late, it doesn't count! We have your usual three articles today, tried to spice it up by making them a bit more diverse this time around. So sit down, get your popcorn, and prepare for- What? I need to leave the premises? Why? I don't work here anymore? That's insane! You're getting the swat dogs, okay I'm out! Before we start the link in the article below does contain coarse language, viewer discretion is advised.

Ashley Johnson (Ellie, The Last of Us) Responds to Ubisoft Female Assassin Controversy

Ubisoft has been under heavy fire from Gaming Press, Gamers, and men and women alike in the gaming media for their decision to not include a playable female Assassin. Ashley Johnson, best known as Ellie from The Last of Us, is one of those women, as she has fired at Ubisoft according to Polygon.com. Leaving out Ashley's choice words likely too mature to be fully stated here, she is completely against the decision, saying, "It's 2014! How many video games do you have to make to realize maybe have an option to have a female be in there?" Her co-star in the game, Troy Baker, has made a much less volatile statement, cautioning the idea of forced inclusion of females. Ubisoft has tried to quell the massive response of angered gamers, but even their wide array of efforts have done little to stop people. Ubisoft is composed of a diverse library of employees, men, women, foreigners, and for the most part anything in between. They were also under similar fire for controversy over the Far Cry 4 cover art showcasing a lighter skinned man holding down a darker skinned man.

PlayStation 4 bundles have been popping up in massive degrees lately, between the Driveclub bundle announced and the recent questionable Frozen bundle, Japan has a wide variety of different PlayStation 4s to choose from, and now we can add two more to that list. IGN.com states that Sony has announced a Destiny bundle with a custom console, and a The Last of Us Remastered bundle with a custom TLOU: R themed PS4. The Destiny bundle is the same as it is here in United States, save for the Destiny logo imprinted unto the console. The Last of Us Remastered bundle includes the game, the PlayStation 4 with the two main characters on the cover, and the DualShock 4, all in their signature black. Destiny is slightly different sporting the Sony logo on it's bottom right corner as well, as it is a PS4 exclusive in Japan. The bundles will likely be the same price as your typical game/console bundle.

Microsoft recently announced that unfortunately after the recent acquisition of Nokia, 18,000 employees will be fired and forced into unemployment within the next year, the majority in the Nokia department but some in the Xbox department as well.

If you hadn't heard, Microsoft recently bought out and adopted the Nokia brand of phones and electronics for 72 Billion USD, and they will be laying off a large amount of employees, though the number wasn't expected to be this large. GameSpot.com reports that Microsoft has revealed that the number is right at 18,000 jobs being affected. About 13,000 of these are in Nokia, but the Xbox Marketing Team will also be affected heavily. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella did say that new jobs would be opened up, not stating how many, and that employees will be offered some basic assistance in finding new employment opportunities. This is the largest layoff event in the history of Microsoft, making about a 14% cut into the total amount of 100,000 or so employees. Investors surprisingly had a positive response in the first hours, however the stock quickly dropped soon after. More details will be made available soon, and I will update the article when we receive news.

One of the main reasons for the PC system Steam's popularity is it's easy to use Early Access system, which has allowed underground titles like DayZ and The Forest to see massive popularity and growth, and receive critical hands-on gameplay feedback. IGN.com reports that key people in Microsoft and Sony Computer Entertainment America, Adam Boyes and Chris Charla, did reveal that key conversations with developers were about the implementation of an Early Access system akin to Steam's. ID@Xbox's chief Chris Charla, mentioned above, gave the most information on it, saying, "It's a really interesting issue with digital marketplaces, and it's something our store and marketplace team think about all the time . . . Our goal is to have a rational marketplace, where good games are visible and sell well." Adam Boyes made similar comments, stating, "It's still a project that a lot of minds are considering. No details yet, but it's something on the top of my mind every day."

Grand Theft Auto V was recently announced on Current Generation consoles and PCs, with a Fall 2014 window, but the actual release date seems to be unknown, at least until now. PCGamer.com describes that a European site called CoolShop listed the game for November 14th, 2014, meaning that North Americans will likely get it on the 11th of November. The date does make some sense, as the majority of European releases happen on Friday, and happen in North America on Tuesday. The date has been changed to the standard issue filler date of December 31st, 2014, but PCGamer still has a snapshot of it, visible on the article.

Well-known members of the Bioware team like Mike Gamble and Jessica Merizan will be making an appearance at the panel. Aside from that Bioware is remaining scant on the whole thing, so we'll have to wait to see what else they have in store. So far, there has been no confirmed release date for the next Mass Effect, but it is likely not going to be in 2014 and will probably release in 2015 or 2016 at the latest.

One of the most anticipated games of 2013 at the launch of the PS4, however people were put in despair when this racing game along with Watch_Dogs were delayed until 2014, then experiencing another delay from this summer to later in Fall 2014. IGN.com reports that Sony recently revealed a revival of an older bundle with the game and it's console. The bundle includes the console in it's standard colours, a DualShock 4 controller in it's standard colour, and Driveclub's full version, not the free PlayStation Plus version which was announced to have microtransactions and restrictions. The bundle is €439.99 in Europe, and the North American bundle has yet to be confirmed, though it likely exists and will likely be priced at around $459.99 USD give or take. Driveclub releases this Fall exclusively on PlayStation 4 for $59.99 USD.

Titanfall: Frontier's Edge DLC Revealed

Titanfall has surprisingly stayed a smash hit since it's massively hyped release back in March of 2014, with a DLC in May known as Expedition and countless updates after. It was recently announced on Titanfall.com that a new DLC, known as Frontier's Edge, will be releasing soon with three new maps contained in it. These maps are Dig Site, a mining operation, a small hub ingrained in the mountainside, Export, and a luxurious beach-head, Haven. All of these are available for $9.99, or the discount of $24.99 with the Season Pass, which comes with Expedition, Frontier's Edge, and a third unannounced pack. The release date for the pack is not yet known, but if I were to guess, I'd estimate it around late July or early August like the Expedition pack in late May after a late March announcement. Titanfall and it's DLC are available on the Xbox 360, PC, and Xbox One.

View attachment: TFDLC2.jpg

Project Spark gets retail Xbox One version; Release Date announced

Project Spark was announced at E3 in 2013 as a Microsoft platform exclusive, since receiving many updates and a currently running beta. Polygon.com reports that the game now has a confirmed release date, October 7th in the American territories, and October 10th in Europe, with Asia-Pacific copies releasing on the 9th. A version available for store purchase, the Project Spark Starter Pack will be available for Xbox One only, but it's content can be downloaded digitally on Windows 8 and Xbox One, no word on the Xbox 360. The pack includes 2 feature packs, a new character, and the first entry to an episodic action/adventure series planned in the game. Looking at all this information, it seems the Xbox 360 version and the Windows 8 versions have been getting little attention by the developers, Team Dakota, compared to the Xbox One version.

In celebration of the all-holy Bungie Day in which we revere our gods and overlords in Bungie, they have given us three separate Collector's Edition announcements!

Today is a big day for any Destiny buff, as Bungie has been widely hinting (not very subtly) about massive announcements to come today, July 7th, Bungie Day. The biggest comes from Bungie.net, where three different Collector's Editions were revealed on the site, and I'm going to go through them one by one. The first is the Destiny Digital Guardian Edition, which comes packed with Early Access to the Vanguard Armory and a pre-order bonus Player Emblem, the Destiny Season Pass (or Expansion Pass as it's labeled) which comes with the two add-ons for Destiny, The Dark Below and House of Wolves, and all of the Digital Content included across the three Collector's Editions, the skin for your Ghost, and the Player Emblem and Ship Skin. It is unknown what this edition currently retails for. Next, we have the Limited Edition, which includes a Steelbook showing off a matte grey image of the star chart and the Destiny logo, a 'Guardian Folio' which encases a field guide of a variety of weapons in the game, a star chart that acts sort of like the map included in GTA V's retail, and postcards, and of course all of the digital content in the Digital Guardian Edition. It retails for $99.99 USD.

View attachment: ghost.jpg

Finally, there's the Ghost Edition. This includes everything above in the Limited Edition, as well as a scaled replica of a Ghost drone, with working audio and visual display LEDs, along with a small packet of patches, stickers, and slides with images of the traveler on them. Finally, a small letter containing your introduction to Destiny. This edition retails for $149.99 USD and is not available currently on Xbox One.

View attachment: ghostedition360.jpg

Which edition are you picking up, and are you disappointed or angry that the Guardian Edition isn't on Xbox One? Let me know in the comments below, thanks for reading!

Crytek UK, under many allegations in the recent days for neglection of payment to it's employees which can be viewed in Unease P34nut's article here, has reported stopped production on Homefront: The Revolution due to it's core employees flat out not coming in to work and refusing to do so.

Crytek UK has been quite a big company in the recent years, but most remember them not as Crytek UK, but as Free Radical Design, makers of the TimeSplitters series and the game Haze on the PS3, they also took head of Crysis 2 and did work on Crysis 3. Kotaku.com says that this seemingly lofty studio with a generally good history and solid name is stopping production on one of their titles, Homefront 2, due to employees not working. While no official delay for the Homefront sequel has been announced, and this whole issue seems to be under the process of being swept under the rug, it's very likely we won't see anything from them until 2016 with over 100 leaving. Crytek UK itself is hoping greatly for it's parent publisher, Deep Silver, to purchase it so it can begin to recover. The effects have already taken a beating on the company though, with a Ryse sequel cancelled, Homefront 2 pre-orders not going as amazingly as a sequel to a game like this should, and a loss of trust from employees, gamers, and reviewers.

Today it was revealed that Western Australia is looking to place a ban on the sale and purchase of all R18+ games, especially to minors.

A report made this month released by the Joint Standing Committee on the Commissioner for Children and Young People recommends that the Australian government outright ban sales for Mature or R18+ games. Kotaku.com states that the report was originally made in 2013 and has gone through reworking, only now being considered by the Western Australian Government. Currently, it needs to be reviewed by the Attorney General of Western Australia before it can be passed. The report outlines the details of banning the sale, purchase, ownership, and advertisement for such products as R18+ Games and films. The passing would also make it impossible for a parent or guardian to supply an underage person with an R18+ game or film, despite the person's platform of use belonging to the adult. As well, the advise an educational campaign be enacted to alert parents of the dangers of mature content in film and games, and enforce these new laws. The broad topic also covers the, "sexualisation of children in all forms of media".

In Bungie's Weekly Update this week, they showed off juicy details for Destiny like Achievements, a hint at a Collector's Edition, and more announcements coming up, it's all here!

In this week's Bungie update, Urk filled in for the typical Community Manager Deej, as he tore into some rather important questions in large detail. Heading to Bungie.net, the first question had to deal with the whopping $500 Million price tag for marketing, as Urk explained how this wasn't near the cost of development, and very little of that actually went into Bungie's work on the game, the majority was just to get it advertised and marketed. The next was relating to the heavily controversial Ghost dialogue heard in the Alpha, voiced by Peter Dinkleage, where it was revealed work is being done right now to redo some lines and more will be done after the Beta, as Bungie tries to clean up the mess. A more humorous question asked about the 'That Wizard Came From The Moon' shirts in the Bungie store, as Urk cleared up that they are still available. A huge announcement, the Achievements and Trophies for Destiny were revealed, there are a total of 40 of them, too many to list individually, but some stand out ones are definitely Ghost Hunter, where you must discover 50 deceased Ghosts, Inspector, where you must inspect another Guardian, and Blink of an Eye, kill 5 enemies in 3 seconds. The full list is in the picture below.

View attachment: Destinyachievements.jpg

To finish it off, we have three more questions, there are a few more after, but they are mainly jokingly and give us no real info. One question was asked as to how long the beta for Destiny in July will run, to which we were told that it's all still in the works and no finalized date has been decided upon. The next, if there will be a Collector's Edition released alongside Destiny, as Urk responded teasingly, "It’s almost as if we’re planning to drop all the information you need, and more, ahead of Beta on an auspicious date in the very near future." Finally, someone asked if it was official that Destiny is rated T for Teen by the ESRB, as it was confirmed by Urk. Destiny will launch with a T rating to broaden the audience, and contains only 'Animated Blood' and 'Violence'. They also linked to a Polygon piece on the problem with Halo being rated M for Mature, which I highly recommend you look at, as it is featured in the article linked above.

View attachment: 2508271-destiny1.jpg

To end off on a question, do you wish to see a Collector's Edition for Destiny? If so, what would it need to have to sell you on it, and how much could it cost? Discuss below, and thanks for reading the article!

Note: Remember in the last Weekly News Wrap-Up where I promised I'd do one on Friday and not Saturday? Well, I'm skipping a week, yay! They'll resume at regular time next Saturday, the 5th, for now, enjoy... This.

In a Podcast episode, the head of Microsoft Phil Spencer commented on the idea of bringing back the original proposed Family Sharing Plan and said that it may happen in the future, but it will be a long and bumpy road with the DRM attachment.

Let's take a trip back to June 2013, on the dawn of E3 2013, Microsoft Studios is under heavy fire for their new DRM system, and especially their fee on used games, taking the war publishers have had on used games to new heights. One thing however that was done right was the idea of a Family Sharing program on Xbox One, talked about in the GamertagRadio.com podcast with Phil Spencer, the new head of Microsoft. You see, when the outstanding policies were revamped, the Family Sharing plan went with them, never to see the light of day again, at least, that's what we thought. In the podcast Phil explained how he had loved the idea of a Family Sharing program, and how it is on their agenda for a new, game-based Xbox. He specifically stated, "We looked at the digital features that we had talked about last year and as a gamer, there were a lot of those features that I think really resonated . . . As I look at our monthly update roadmap, those kind of features are in our roadmap. There is a little bit of a challenge now that you've got DRM on a disc." So the idea isn't totally out of the question, in fact, he pretty much states the idea is on the center of their plan, just that it would be difficult to do thanks to DRM already implemented.
