	<span style="color:#ffffff">Halo 5: Guardians has just been hit with another playlist refresh. Breakout, Halo's newest gametype, was introduced in the Halo 5: Guardians beta as a strategic, no-shields gametype that mixed elimination slayer and objective. The gametype was made to promote the sporting competitive aspect (in a lore sense) of Spartan training. Previously, players would start with SMGs and Magnums with one Grenade on maps where precision weapons were power weapons along with the Hydra and Shotgun. With this new playlist refresh, players have full shields, one grenade, a Magnum with extended magazines and a Shotgun to start. Maps have been given overhauls to complement the new style of play the playlist will be bringing: </span>

	<span style="color:#ffffff">Not only do players have a new loadout but the Frag Grenade capacity has been increased to 4 max and capturing the neutral flag on the map is done on your team's side (as opposed to previously running it to the other team's base). "This now forces teams to be mindful of the flag and push out for position early. We’ve found that opening rushes are more exciting and offer more viable strategies," according to Quinn DelHoyo, a multiplayer designer at 343 Industries.</span>

Activision Publishing is allegedly the only branch applying these layoffs, with Blizzard and MLG notably not affected. Developers Infinity Ward, Beenox, and Treyarch took the brunt of the hit, with around 20 people laid off at Infinity Ward, the developers of the latest entry in the Call of Duty franchise, Infinite Warfare. </span></span></span></span>

	<span style="color:rgb(0,255,255);">Bonnie Ross stated at the D.I.C.E Summit earlier this year that Halo 6 will involve a more "simpler story" that focuses on the Master Chief and no new playable characters. She also stated that future titles will include the splitscreen option due to the backlash of Halo 5's lack of having splitscreen functionality. It was explained that taking it out in Halo 5 was a tough choice due to Halo 5's 'mass scale environments, improved AI behavior and increased visuals and gameplay fidelity.' Regarding the story, she said</span><span style="color:rgb(0,255,255);"><em> </em></span><em><span style="color:#ffffff;">"while we love our transmedia, sometimes I do think we tell a little too much story in our games." </span></em><span style="color:rgb(0,255,255);">This statement by itself stirred some confusion in the community. Some saw it as bad thing because they feel that the future entries could end up lacking the amount of lore and detail that Halo 4 and Halo 5 Guardians contained. Other saw it as a good thing becasue they feel it would be a lot easier and lighter on the casual players to understand the story.</span> <a href="https://twitter.com/PlutonForEver/status/834852342935724032" rel="external nofollow">Bonnie Ross later cleared up the statement on Twitter that she also enjoyed the direction Halo 4 went storywise.</a>

	<span style="color:#00ffff;">Halo fans who are looking forward to the sequel to Halo 5 will have to sit back and get comfortable because 343industries stated that the next major title's announcement won't be anytime soon. That means out at Germany's Gamescom or the upcoming PAX 2017 conventions.</span>

	<span style="color:#00ffff;">Back in May, 343's community manager Brian Jarrard (aka Ske7ch) had warned fans that 343 will have no major announcements at E3 2017 for Halo. </span><span style="color:#ffffff;"><em>"I'll slip into my dreamcrusher persona for a minute in the name of realistic expectations. We've said this already but we'll have a little something at E3 but it's not related to the next major entry in the franchise." </em></span><span style="color:#00ffff;">This 'little something' was revealed to be a paid expansion for Halo Wars 2 which brings the Flood back into the fray on the Ark post-HW2 titled "Awakening the Nightmare".</span>

	<span style="color:#00ffff;">In last week's Halo Community Update, Jeff Easterling (GrimBrotherOne) acknowledged the already predicted disappointment of the community from what E3 did and didn't show.</span><span style="color:#ffffff;"> </span><span style="color:#ffffff;"><em>"While there's little to nothing to be said on that front, it's been made clear that we won't be talking about Halo's next major title for quite sometime. And no, that doesn't mean Gamescom. Or PAX. Trust us, when we're ready to pull pack that proverbial curtain, you'll know. It won't be soon."</em></span>

	<span style="color:#00ffff;">Some members of the community took to the internet to voice their displeasure at this news, but also a good amount took to various forums such as Reddit's r/Halo and Waypoint to explain how this could mean 343 is willing to take their time to make the next entry better than the last, and fix their mistakes to ensure they deliver a game that the community wants. Many speculate that the next entry's reveal may take place at E3 2018 with a release later in 2019, but we won't know until 343 is satisfied and ready for an unveiling.</span>

At E3 2017, the Xbox One X was officially revealed, along with some launch titles that run at 4k 60fps. Unfortunately, Halo did not have a spot at this years E3, and caused many to speculate whether any Halo title was in the works, or if Halo 5 was to get the 4k treatment. Today, 343 confirmed that Halo 5: Guardians will indeed get the 4k 60 fs treatment later this fall when the Xbox One X releases on </span><strong><span style="color:#ffffff;">NOVEMBER 7, 2017</span></strong><span style="color:#00ffff;">.</span>

	<span style="color:#00ffff;">Halo 5 in 4k wasn't the only announcement 343 had today, as they revealed that Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, and Halo 4 will be coming to backwards compatibility very soon, and all DLC including Halo: Reach's and Halo Wars' DLC will be free going forward. In fact, the DLC's are free now on the Xbox Marketplace website! Halo 3 and ODST on Xbox One are playable at RTX also. (Assuming you're at RTX in the first place.)</span>

This month's content drop will feature a returning UNSC leader, Serina! This month will also drop the UNSC Campaign expansions based off of Operation SPEARBREAKER during the events of Halo Wars 2 against Banished forces. In August, we get a taste of Unggoy might as Yapyap the Destroyer comes into the fray. This may mean we'll get a Grunt Goblin mech as a unit! (pls)</span>

Though it's not an Anniversary title, Halo 5 will be getting a dedicated Halo 3 classic playlist in the future. It is being built from scratch with the maps being made in Forge and will use "classic" gameplay settings. More info to come soon! New season has started today as well! 	<span style="color:#00ffff;">A plethora of Halo novels were announced earlier this year, one of those being Shadow of Intent, written by former Bungie writer Joseph Staten. As revealed on </span><a href="https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/community/blog-posts/canon-fodder-shadow-of-intense" rel="external nofollow"><span style="color:#00ffff;">HaloWaypoint.com</span></a><span style="color:#00ffff;">, the book will center around Rtas 'Vadum, best known as Halfjaw and the Shipmaster. A prophet prelate threatens the existence of the sangheili race and it's up to Rtas to protect the entire race. Though that is the extent of the plot details, the cover shows Halo 2-era Rtas and a mysterious new female character side-by-side with energy swords (and staffs) in hand. The novel will release this December 7th, 2015 and you can pre-order it now.</span>

The Halo Archive is where you want to be to discuss the upcoming Mythos or any novel or game on an in-game universe level. </span></p>

The rates are equal but members are assigned to them based on whether they spend more time talking in on-topic Halo threads or off-topic. <p><span style="color:rgb(255,255,255);">Since the beta some time ago alot has changed in Warzone Firefight. The general idea is still there but we can expect a lot of more objectives and bosses to beat. One of these new bosses will be </span><a href="http://343i.org/3ec" rel="external nofollow">Grunt Goblin</a><span style="color:rgb(255,255,255);"> the </span><span style="color:rgb(255,255,255);">we saw a few days back. You can also expect the difficulty level to ramp up as you progress through rounds. No more easy pickings!</span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="color:rgb(255,255,255);">This update will also bring back a long gone campaign score attack so you can compete with your friends or to try and get a combined record by working together. Taking down enemies with style will fetch you more points than the regular headshot or melee and dying will cost you dearly.</span></p>

<p><span style="color:rgb(255,255,255);">Next up we have some new maps to play on. Since we didn't really get much with the Hog Wild update map wise we get 2 Warzone maps, 1 Arena map, and a Forge canvas this time around.</span></p>
<p><span style="color:rgb(255,255,255);">The first Warzone map we'll be taking a look at is the brand new Attack on Sanctum!</span></p>

<p><span style="color:rgb(255,255,255);">Tidal is pretty much a giant rock in the middle of the water with some nooks and cranny's for you to build some smaller maps as well as some large open water for you to build the larger maps. again this is the only image available right now so we'll have to wait and see how it will turn out.</span></p>

<p><span style="color:rgb(255,255,255);">Now here come the REQs, and there are some cool ones!</span></p>

<p><span style="color:rgb(255,255,255);">First up we have the Temple style Covenenant vehicles. They sport a golden/green-ish colour and from the rarity colours might be a step up from the already present ultra variant vehicles. We'll most likely see their effects in the livestream.</span></p>
<p><span style="color:rgb(255,255,255);">Next up we have the Halo 2 Beam rifle (from which many found death in the Halo 2 Legendary runs...) along with an Alpha and Delta variant. What the effects and deifferences will be from the already available Beam Rifles remains to be seen.</span></p>
<p><span style="color:rgb(255,255,255);">Another big one is the Wasp UNSC air vehicle. Yes, we finally have an UNSC flying vehicle! From the little footage that is out there on the interwebz we can tell that it'll be a VTOL kind of plane and it will feature a chaingun and rockets to rain death from above. The Pheaton has finally found its match.</span></p>
<p><span style="color:rgb(255,255,255);">Last up we get our usual fix of Armors, emblems, an armor mod and some weapon variants of the Brute Plasma Rifle. I'm going to take a wild guess here and say that the Patrol case armor mod will let you have some more ammo capacity out of spawn.</span></p>

<p>Information surrounding the Halo Wars 2 Beta was leaked accidentally in the Xbox Store today: supposedly ahead of it's planned reveal at Microsoft's E3 conference on June 13th. Said leak apparently was a result of Xbox Director of Programming Larry Hyrb aka 'Major Nelson' following said page.</p>

<p>Based on what was shown, the Beta will run from June 13th to June 20th. The full list of info gleaned is below:</p>

The mode was treated to critical success, and has naturally come back into rotation a few times since as a weekend buffer. </span></span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:rgb(0,255,255);"><span style="font-family:verdana;">This week, fans will be happy to know it has returned, playable on the new maps and with items from the latest update. Along with the mode, 343 has released two new REQ packs available in the store, for the purpose of beefing up your collection. One of these is a "Mythic Warzone Pack" which will grant players 10 single-use weapons of the highest tier and one new certification to get more of a weapon, if available. The other is a "Mechanized Vehicle Pack" which will grant players a ton of vehicular items to slaughter the competition. Both can be purchased with $10 USD or 80,000 REQ points, and are available for as long as "Warzone Turbo" is here. </span></span></span></p>

<p><span style="color:#ffffff">The </span><span style="color:#ffffff"><em>Meet Your Maker Forge Contest</em></span><span style="color:#ffffff"> has always been a large-scale Forge contest attracting many different Forgers spanning all corners of the larger Halo Community bringing them together for the common goal of winning this massive battle royale of wonderful Halo map madness. </span></p>

<p><span style="color:#ffffff">The first </span><span style="color:#ffffff"><em>Meet Your Maker Contest</em></span><span style="color:#ffffff">, the brainchild of previous Site Moderator Absolute Dog with the previous THFE, was a 4v4 core/competitive Infinity Slayer Forge competition hosted by ourselves in alliance with many big name Forgers such as Psychoduck, SaltyKoala, WARHOLIC, undr zid, and Spades N AZ. This ended in Redemption1272 (XDemption)'s victory with his map, Edifice. Creator of Fracture in BTB, Squally DaBeanz came in second place with his map that has transcended across almost all Halo games to date: Stigma. Our second runner up was made by one of our Community Cartographers formerly known as The Fated Fire- now Fated Fireman- called Black Site. </span></p>

<p><span style="color:#ffffff">The second </span><span style="color:#ffffff"><em>Meet Your Maker Forge Contest</em></span><span style="color:#ffffff"> was a Dominion-based competition that brought out the best of the Dominion Forgers. Not as many submissions but this was a very successful competition nonetheless. PA1NTS took first place with his map Monsoon. First runner up went to Xinshu's Sticky Fingers and second runner up was Typhoon by DUN3Z. </span></p>

<p><span style="color:#ffffff">Upon his departure from 343 Industries Community Forum, Absolute Dog handed the rights of the Meet Your Maker contest to trusted Forger and Community Cartographer Psychoduck. Psychoduck created the third </span><span style="color:#ffffff"><em>Meet Your Maker</em></span><span style="color:#ffffff"> in conjunction with ForgeHub which took place on MCC's Halo 2: Anniversary. </span></p>

And I've got to say, it was surprising.</span></p>

If you get your hands on it you'll find that you walk a lil' faster and can take more of a punch. Also, your bullets explode in impact. I don't remeber it doing that in Reach but... I'll take it.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">The REQ with the mysterious ONI symbol plastered over it turned out to be a Pheaton variant. We were all hoping for the Falcon, but maybe this Pheaton won't explode from peashooter fire.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">Next we have all of the (predicted) Noble team armors. Keep in mind that they're not supposed to be exactly like the armors you saw in Reach (e.g "Emile's" knife is not on the shoulder armor). Wanted to clarify this since I've seen people literally going crazy over this.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">We also get a little armor mod that's going to help you be the designated driver.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">Finally we have the weapon attatchment of which I'm still not sure what they do exactly. I believe Fishy said on my last post that it was a marker/spotter of sorts.</span></span></p>

Fear not, though – players who skillfully evade a Spartan-Charging player with Thrust will still escape without taking damage. Additionally, Spartan Charge with Speed Boost will no longer be a one-hit kill, and Spartan Charge with the Gravity Hammer will no longer be a one-hit kill.</span></span></em></p>
<p><em><span style="color:#ffffff;"><span style="font-size:14px;">The last item is a slight increase to movement speed while crouching. This has been increased to allow for crouching to be a more viable choice for players to flank and attack. The speed isn’t drastic, but after months of testing we’ve found it to be the sweet spot.</span></span></em></p>

<p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">It has been known for quite some time now that the Memories of Reach update would deliver Infection. With this months preview we get some more information on it. As of this moment 343i is working on creating, selecting and playtesting both self created and community made maps. The most interesting part lies in the Forge department as a load of items have been added to the Forge pallet to create the best Infection maps. We're speaking of damaged walls and structures, dead bodies (both human and covenant) and all sorts of indications of mayhem here.</span></span></p>

What's interesting is that this time one of the legendary REQs hasn't just been blurred, it has been completely blacked out and has an ONI symbol on it.</span></span></p>

<p><span style="color:#ffffff;">As you can see the Weapons skins that were earlier available in the Spartan REQ pack are now available in regular REQs (aside from de 343i skins). The Brute Plasma Rifle also makes its return to Halo!</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">Speculation on the blurred REQs has already gone wild across other media. Rumor has it that the blacked out 'ONI' REQ is the Falcon, but I'm still hoping for the legendary Reach Forklift. Wouldn't that be something?</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">In any case the Mythic blurred weapon appears to be Jorge's HMG. A thought that is supported by the fact that the Legendary stance appears to be your Spartan holding something rather big and heavy.</span></span></p>

<p><span style="color:#ffffff;"><span style="font-size:14px;">The blurred weapon at the bottom appears to be the DMR with the same attatchment as all other loadout weapons shown on the list. Which got me thinking... why blur it when you can clearly see it's the DMR with the same attatchment as all other weapons shown?</span></span></p>

More specificly, a REQ weapon update. 343i has researched and noticed that some of the Power weapons in Warzone were underperforming. So here's a list of weapon tweaks that will come with the update in the following weeks:</span></span></p>
