Call of Duty: Warzone is a big, popular, and fun battle royale game, but if you're feeling burnt out or simply want to try something else to mix things up, there are plenty of other games out there similar to it that might appeal to you. Battle royale is one of the biggest trends in gaming right now, and fans of the genre have plenty of options to choose from, while some non-battle royale games might appeal to fans of Warzone as well.

In this post, we're rounding up 10 games like Warzone to consider trying out. For the purposes of this article, we're looking at not only battle royale games, but also titles with similar elements like big maps, vehicular combat, a big arsenal of weapons, and solid shooting mechanics.

Apex Legends

Apex Legends

Another very popular battle royale game that could appeal to Warzone players is EA's Apex Legends. The game was designed by developer Respawn, a team founded by a series of Call of Duty veterans who have brought that legacy to a new sci-fi setting with great success. Apex Legends has an excellent roster of characters to choose from, a massive variety of weapons and equipment, and shooting that feels fantastic and fair. Go play Apex--you can check it out for free on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, PC, and mobile.

Battlefield V

Battlefield V

In response to the growing craze around battle royale games, DICE added its own battle royale mode to Battlefield V in 2019. 64 players drop onto a map and must scavenge for weapons and resources and compete to be the last player or team standing. The map is constantly shrinking due to a firestorm that is closing in, which ramps up the tension and draws players and teams out of cover and into the open. Set on a massive map and featuring many vehicles and weapons, Battlefield V's Firestorm mode may appeal to fans of Warzone looking for a similar experience but within the context of Battlefield and its sensibilities. Battlefield V is available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout

Call of Duty: Warzone players who are perhaps growing tired of the military shooter style of battle royale might look to Fall Guys for a change of pace. Mediatonic's whimsical and wacky battle royale game puts up to 60 little beans onto a map where they compete against each other in a series of Wipeout-style courses until only one player remains. This colorful and zany battle royale game is a pleasant diversion from the standard white-knuckle battle royale shooters. There are a great variety of levels to learn and have fun with, and because the game is so darn cute, it's hard to be that upset when you inevitably get whacked off the map or lose. Fall Guys is playable on all modern consoles as well as PC and mobile devices.

Fortnite

Fortnite: Battle Royale

Epic's massively popular battle royale game shares a number of similarities with Warzone. It is first and foremost a battle royale game, at least in 2021, where players or teams fight to survive the longest on a massive battlefield. For Warzone fans looking for a change of pace from Call of Duty's more realistic arsenal of weapons and environments, Fortnite offers a more colorful and whimsical world. Like Warzone, Fortnite also has plenty of alternative game modes and its own set of mysteries and other meta-game elements to enjoy during matches. Fortnite is available on consoles and PC.

GTA Online

GTA Online

Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto V has an excellent multiplayer mode called GTA Online that, to this day, remains one of the most popular and buzzing-with-life social games you can play. The game experimented with a battle royale mode called Motor Wars, and while it's no longer available, GTA Online offers a multitude of other large-scale multiplayer modes to take part in. Whether you're looking for an on-the-ground infantry-based adversary mode, a car race, or a fantastical trip among the clouds, GTA Online is a virtual playground worth visiting. GTA Online ism included with every copy of GTA V, but you can also purchase it separately for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection

Halo: The Master Chief Collection

Also not a battle royale game, but the qualities and characteristics that make Halo: The Master Chief Collection so fun and enjoyable might also appeal to Warzone fans. For the purposes of this piece, we're looking at Halo's Big Team Battle mode. The largest and most hectic of all Halo modes, Big Team Battle pits two teams of 8 (or 12 when Halo Infinite launches) against each other on Halo's biggest maps. Big Team Battle matches are full of the type of watercooler, Michael Bay movie-type moments that you might encounter in Warzone. No two matches are ever the same. Halo games are known for their excellent controls and shooting mechanics, which Call of Duty fans will likely appreciate as well. Halo is a sci-fi game, too, so it's not limited to the type of real-world weaponry you'd find in Call of Duty, if you're looking to mix it up. And while Big Team Battle doesn't have a battle royale mode, it features multiple different modes like Capture the Flag, Territories, and Deathmatch to keep things fresh and interesting. Halo: The Master Chief Collection is exclusive to Xbox and PC. It's available to play for free if you have a Game Pass subscription.

Payday 2

Payday 2

Call of Duty: Warzone is a tactical multiplayer game that requires skill and coordination. The same can be said of Overskill's Payday 2. While it is not a battle royale game, Payday 2 does see teams work together to pull of Hollywood-style heists before the law can stop them. In that respect, it's a fight for survival against difficult odds--not unlike Warzone. Payday 2 is a fantastic team-based tactical heist game and Overkill has steadily supported the game over the years with many new updates to keep things fresh and interesting, including John Wick DLC. Another reason to check out Payday 2 is that Payday 3 is coming in 2023, so it could be a nice primer. Payday 2 is available on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and PC.

PUBG

PUBG

Anyone who enjoys Call of Duty Warzone might also like a battle royale game that came before it, PUBG. Like Warzone, PUBG has a massive variety of weapons, equipment, and vehicles, not to mention a super-sized player count and a gigantic map. The formula will feel familiar, too, as players fight to become the last person or squad standing, with a ring of death closing in all the time and forcing players into combat encounters. The game continues to receive regular updates, like one coming on November 2 that adds chickens--what are you waiting for? PUBG is available on Xbox, PlayStation, PC, and mobile.

Star Wars: Battlefront II

Star Wars: Battlefront II

If you enjoy the epic scale of Call of Duty: Warzone, EA's Star Wars: Battlefront II might appeal to you as well. Although not a battle royale game by any means, Battlefront II is an excellent and refined large-scale multiplayer shooter that has a lot of what makes Warzone great. It has huge battlefields with many nooks and crannies and paths to learn; it has a massive arsenal of varied weapons; and it has a great assortment of vehicles. Players can also have a good time playing solo or as part of a team, not unlike Warzone. Battlefront 2 is available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.

Super Animal Royale

Super Animal Royale

If you're looking for a new battle royale game and want something with a vastly different tone and style to Warzone, the independent game Super Animal Royale might be one to check out. Super Animal Royale is a 64-player, top-down 2D battle royale game where animals fight to the death until only one remains. Set in an abandoned safari park, the game lets you play as a tiger, fox, or bear to begin with. You scavenge the park for resources like weapons, armor, and items to use to attack your enemies. Developer Pixile has steadily supported the game with new updates and content since launch, and the game doesn't require a beefy PC.
