343iBot Posted September 16, 2020 Report Share Posted September 16, 2020 Turns out Sony isn't making as clean a break with this next console generation as previously thought--much like Microsoft, several of Sony's first-party titles are releasing on both PS4 and PS5. During the September 2020 PS5 Showcase, we learned that Horizon Forbidden West will be one such game, along with Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales. "We know that the PS4 community will transition to PS5 at different times, and we're happy to announce PS4 versions of some of our exclusives," Sony Interactive Entertainment president and CEO Jim Ryan wrote in a blog post about the price and release date for PS5. "Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Sackboy: A Big Adventure, and Horizon Forbidden West will also launch on PS4." Ryan went on to clarify that because these three games are specifically designed for the PS5, the PS4 versions will lack support for certain features, like the PS5's SSD's fast loading times and DualSense controller's haptic feedback.
