Now, that might be set to change. Popular Twitter artist BossLogic uploaded an image that seems to suggest the existence of an Injustice 3. INJUSTIC3 @noobde :D pic.twitter.com/7bq4K1UBZb — BossLogic (@Bosslogic) August 9, 2020 As noted by several observers, the clock in the background of the mock-up is likely a thinly-veiled reference to the Watchmen sequel Doomsday Clock--which was written by Geoff Johns, not original writer Alan Moore--which could indicate the inclusion of Watchmen characters in an Injustice sequel. While it seems a bit far-fetched, such crossovers have become increasingly common in NetherRealm games, since Injustice 2 featured disparate characters like Hellboy and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It's certainly possible that this mock-up is just a bit of wishful thinking on BossLogic's part. However, the timing is suspicious, as DC's upcoming Fandome event on August 22 will reveal new details about other upcoming superhero games, such as the newly-confirmed Suicide Squad game in development at Rocksteady. A previous snippet of dialogue from a Joker vs. Joker mirror match also seemed to imply that Injustice 3 is on the way. Though director Ed Boon denied it, given NetherRealm's penchant for secrets and hints, that seems highly unlikely.
