This is significant, as not only is the developer known for their 2D retro-style games, but they also have three new 2D games confirmed to be in the works.

Known 2D projects currently on the slate at Yacht Club Games include Shovel Knight Dig, Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon, and Cyber Shadow. Now, in a listing on Gamasutra, the developer is seeking a mid-senior gameplay programmer to work on a new, 3D-focused team.

The job page does not give any further insights into the specifics of what the game will be about, how it will play, or what genre it will fit into.
