The game is due to launch for Nintendo's hybrid console on March 31 across North and South America. The game was already released in Europe and Australia at the end of 2019, before coming to Japan in February 2020. Taito also has confirmed that additional content for Bubble Bobble 4 will be made available for free via download later this year, including new stages and the character Baron von Blubba. Bubble Bobble 4 supports solo play or couch co-op with up to three friends. There are 100 levels in all, as players progress to try to take down the evil wizard Bonner.
