Halo: CEA matchmaking?

So I just bought Halo CEA and I started matchmaking immediately. I see that the multiplayer is played on Reach engine! Halo CEA's multiplayer playlists are 'Anniversary classic' and 'Anniversary firefight.

So my question is... When I play online with my Halo CEA disc, do I also play with all the players who use Halo Reach disc? For example, there were about 200 players on 'Anniversary classic' so were the Halo Reach players included in that number or just the players who play with Halo CEA disc? How about firefight?

Also, I can see from wiki that the CEA gives us 7 new maps, one of which is called Timberland. However, I haven't encountered it at all even though I have played over 20 match... Is it just bad luck or is the map removed completely?

That is very cool then. Btw I have the last question about Halo CEA pistol. It is very common weapon in Anniversary's playlist. But it somehow surprises me because it is quite a killer weapon? In Halo Reach it didn't feel so powerful. Well, I actually always use DMR in Reach and haven't touched the pistol for long time so maybe I don't remember correctly... Am I right if I say that in Anniversary matchmaking the pistol is somehow improved? Or is it just the same as in Reach?

They remade the pistol in those playlists to fit the Halo CE pistol better. A three shot kill weapon. Remember how powerful the pistol was in Halo CE?

Well that is very nice because pistol is so rarely used in my case so it is pleasant to get used to using other weapons as main. Did I understand correctly that the improved pistol is only available in Anniversary's playlists? And not in Halo Reach's BTB playlist, for example? If so, that is big shame since DMR is soooo common

When I'm normally on the Anniversary Multiplayer it has 400+ for the slayer playlist and 100+ for the firefight, its quite active...

Yes I was playing today and the number of players was also 400+. It seems like that it depends on time. I think that the majority of Halo players live in the US so when it late over there the population will a little lower.
