Price of Xbox One Games will remain the same as 360 games

First party Xbox One game's will sell at a retail price of $59.99 a Microsoft spokesperson told polygon, which is the same retail price as Xbox 360 games.

 

"I can confirm that the Microsoft Studios games will be $59.99 (MSRP)" the spokesperson wrote.

 

This will come as a relief to consumers as it was speculated that the next gen games would be more expensive as the current gen, also certian sites had Xbox One games at considerably higher price before this confirmation. A retail price for the UK has not yet been confrimed but it is expected that it will follow the same as the Prices in North America.  

 

PS4 games will also sell at $59.99 Sony Americas president Jack Tritton hinted in an interview with CNBC back in February following the PS4 reveal.

Microsoft could have totally abandoned the more or less obsolete form of games (discs) and went completely digital and had cheap-o games similar to Steam, but instead they just decided to take the worst of both worlds.

I was kind of hoping they would drop prices back down to when they were fifty dollars US, but I guess that was too much to hope for.

So those that purchase the XboxLost will have a $60 + tax/shipping drink coaster and/or digital media ninja throwing disc. At least the PS4 discs will have some value after play. M$ can keep their $500 non-internet connected brick of a set-top box. Will pass on this one.
