Meet Your Maker Forge Contest Update Thread

 

Featured Map

 

This is the first Dominion map I've ever featured. I found myself going with a pattern of competitive and aesthetic maps really. This week I felt like featuring a Dominion map so who else to talk to than Dominion Host for The Halo Forge Epidemic than AbleSir Thomas? I asked him for a map he made for Dominion and all he gave me was a link to this beauty. This video will give you a THFE feature of AbleSir Thomas's map, Corrosion.

GAMING NEWS

 

Forge Island is coming out on April 11 for FREE. That's correct. It's free. And it's huge. It has 3 main "areas" if you will:

The Large Flatland, The Mid-size Flatland, and The Small Flatland.

There is a massive amount of space in the skybox of the map.

The map's aesthetics will be similar to that of Ravine, so it will be green and rocky like a beautiful grotto in some parts and more like an island in others!

Castle Map Pack

This probably should've appeared in last week's Wrapup but didn't.

The Castle Map Pack drops April 8th. Developed by our affililate, Certain Affinity, the map pack provides 3 large scale objective based maps. Yes people that's BTB Objective WOO! The 3 maps are called Daybreak, Outcast, and Perdition. Personally I like Perdition's name the best. Quilt Qualifying Play Date

 

Halo 4 Play Date

 

This week's Play Date was a Quilt Qualifier which means that if you played at least 5 games in the Halo 4 Play Date you qualify in a contest to win a quilt from who else but imakequilts! We played FFA gametypes in the beginning, had a snipers match for AD, and played some minigames like Ro Sham Bo, Jenga Tower, and of course Clue. Thanks to everyone who joined, we had a really great time. To those of you who missed out well... You missed out! Hopefully we have just as good of a turnout next week!

Meet Your Maker Play Date

Pretty awesome news. It's been announced by Promotions and Events' leading lady, imakequilts, that there will be a Play Date testing the maps of the Meet Your Maker Forge Contest. Guys these maps are top notch. I've gone through the submission thread many times just to look at what was posted and my mind was blown. Follow the thread to watch for an incoming date and time here.

Forge islands look great.

However, there better be A LOT more natural structures put in or a lot of maps won't work. Particularly BTIS/BTB maps which need the environment to work well.

But asides from that, I'm so glad 343 took the time to make this for the forging community.
