Halo 4: Evidence for Precursors?

1:31 You can see at the end, some of the looks are described to be precursors. I like to think that the Precursors created the flood to kill the forerunners because to me, the precursors and forerunners have battled it out before and the precursors are the only challenge to the forerunners. This information has floated around for quiet a long time, before talking about halo 4, it could have been in a book, who knows, but anyways. http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Precursor

"Not much is known about them, but information that can be found by text from the logs stored in the Terminals around the Ark indicates it is possible that the Forerunner 'Mantle' (Guardians of the Galaxy and all life) was handed down from "legends of the past": the Precursors. It has been presumed that the Precursors viewed the Forerunners as their own legacy, continuing their work after they departed, much in the same way Forerunner lifeworkers (including the greatest lifeworker: the Librarian) viewed Humanity before the activation of the rings. Having obtained the status of Tier-0, it is likely that the Precursors can travel between galaxies.

Precursors are described as "very large", with 4 upper limbs and 2 legs. Also having an "ugly head shaped like arthropods" - like spiders or crabs - they have oval, faceted slanted eyes and a "flat face". Coming from the back of the head is a long tail with a 2 meter barb coming out of it. Whether this is the way all Precursors look has yet to be revealed, but this is the way the prisoner on a Pre-Human world is described.

It is also revealed that this prisoner is the last known Precursor, and that every other Precursor had been ruthlessly killed in a Forerunner-Precursor war almost 150,000 years before the events of Halo and that their answer is at hand - implying that a Proto-Flood form (described as a fine dust, contained in hundreds of glass cylinders) were created as revenge or as a failsafe."-wiki-halonation

It's just a thought, I figured maybe this precursor could be a "new enemy" if there is some, which 343 said there would be.

Keep in mind, that thing at the end, looks like an Athropod, if you wanna see an athropod, here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthropod

*IMPORTANT INFO* A friend made brought this to my attention today, I would have told you guys, but it could possibly be a real spoiler, but if he knew about it as aswell as I did, then I thought maybe some of you already knew about this aswell.

One of them is still alive even in master chiefs time. He was imprisoned by his own people on an acient precursor world that was colonized by humans over 100,000 years ago. He's called the Timeless one and he was so dangerous to everything, even his own people locked him up. He escaped after the forerunners destroyed the world he was imprisoned on.

heres a video that I made of this info

Interesting. Up untill now the flood and forerunners were the only enemy we could think up. Now the precursors can be added to that list. I think it would be cool to have a storyline were The Chief joins the forerunners to fight the precursors and their flood (if they did create the flood like you said). Whatever the case, I think 343i will make this game as epic as it can be.

The whole story is BS from what I have read about it so far. You mean to tell me, there is some crazy frorunner planet outside of our galaxy somewhere? If this thing were in our own galaxy, it would have been destroyed by the halo rings when they were first fired. The halo rings were neural weapons, and from what i read in a few books and the halo wiki, the precursors tech and living enviroments were based off neural-bio components. Which is why nothing from the precursors exist now. it was all destroyed when the rings fired. The forerunners did not have the monitors restrore themselves as they did with every other life form in the galaxy.

For that matter, how the heck is ONI or the UNSC gonna get involved. The only way the forerunners are alive, is if they are outside our own galaxy. In which case how would anyone be able to communicate with the Chief or Cortana. Let me guess, Chief will steal a forerunner ship and magically be guided back to earth? Yeah.......... So far, not very good. They better be able to do a lot better than that.

Oh yeah i almost forgot about the ending to halo3. How is it, that the arbiter survived and his section of the ship crash landed and was found? Chiefs was clearly caught in the blast when escaping. So how is that? Was he magically teleported to another region of space by the blast? Or are they gonna say something lame like, "His section of the ship ws torn from the front and catipulted". Yeah........

You obviously do not know anything about Halo do you. Okay, the rings destroy all sentinel life, when they went off and destroyed the flood along with everything else, the forerunners fled into the shield world's where they could not be harmed, there, they restarted civilization on every planet afterwards, then of course, 150k years later, we fight the covenant, and the flood appear in the galaxy once again. If you had an ounce of intellectual capacity used to store anything other than porn, you'd know that the blast tore the ship in 2 and Chief's side went into a different direction, as opposed to Arbiter's side going towards earth. ONI have always known about the forerunners, considering that Cortana is an AI made by humans, she must know only what certain humans know, like Halsey, and guess what, Cortana has always known how the forerunners died off, mostly, watch Halo Origins. It's more than possible that ONI has already shipped soldiers towards that forerunner shield world without the UNSC knowing it, they do alot of things that the UNSC do not know about. You have MUCH to learn about Halo. No offense.

So let me guess this straight, I have no intelligence because I have not studied in detail the zillion different contradicting story lines and past writings of the Halo universe? Mighty big of you to assume I am some little kid with no intelligence that collects porn. What are you, 12?

perhaps it is you who needs to go back and play halo 3. i don't care what myth or story says what. The fact is, in the ending of Halo3, you clearly see the back end of the ship get caught or partially caught in the ark's blast. And yes it was an actual ring blast, not the ark simply blowing up. Cortana states that. Further more if the ship was caught in the blast, it would have killed Chief. What IS puzzling is the fact that Cortana says they made it through the portal just in time. What portal? It didn't show any portal when the ship was in space. Was it a slipspace rupture or the portal created by the site on earth? And even if there was a portal and the ship was not caught in the blast, it does not explain how the ship broke apart the way it did. Chief and Cortana were in the aft section. If there was a blast behind them, it would not have torn the ship apart the way it did. Instead it would have projected the entire vessel, just not the front of it.

Anyway, Halo Legends and the stories in it, are just that...stories. nothing in the dvd claimed to be accurate or fact. it is simply a bunch of different stories based on other peoples interpritation of the Halo Universe.

Can you link me to an article stating the forerunners survived? Because what I have read on the wikia, is that they abandoned the plan to retreat to these shield worlds when one of the mendicts or whatever defected to the flood and revealed the locations of the shield worlds. It also states many times that all the worlds were abandoned, and then discovered and stripped of all usbale materials by the covenant. See, I can google and read too.

My main point about the story line so far with Halo 4 is how vague it all seems. They have given us no indication on how they plan to link all the events of every Halo or all it's histories together. I may not study everything in the great detail you kids do, but I go by what is published in-game first before some other secondary source on paper not officially published Bungie or Joe Staten.

It is quite pathetic that you would rather personally attack me because my view of the events differ from yours. You could have quite simply posted up what I said was wrong and why without the insults. Is it too much to ask for a little maturity?

Also to add to this insulting members of this forum will not be tolerated, especially when its blatantly uncalled for, a post was made, a reply was given, if its different discuss it! Don't insult because someone has a different opinion.

We have a damn good community here, where everyones opinion is valued no matter how right or wrong, whether there k/d ratio is negative or positive.

End of rant.

True, I'm sorry, but he blatantly insulted Halo, which this whole forum is about. I notice you gave me a 10% warning, so I am going to ask you if you gave the same to him. I wanna know IF the moderators here are different than they are at bungie.net, if so you would be fair enough to give us both warnings.

I am not going to take the time to read your post in fear of myself actually making another reply to that and earning myself a warning. One thing though, I will ask you not to blatantly judge games, especially games that this whole forum are about, otherwise you'll see more people like me. Logic

Ideas for the clips in my mind. I like your idea on what is could be, im not up to date on all the halo cannon, for i have only played the games and only read Fall of Reach and Contact Harvest when it comes to the novels. But just visual wise this is what i thought they revealed in this. First it is obviusly a planet mostlikey created by forerunner or another force, and either this lush vision of it was the opposite side of the planet and the other side is the more artifical looking part, but in the other illustrations it shows the planet as a rusted out desolate dead planet, this could possibly mean that the first picture is a depiction of it in the past and now it is scared from possibly a planet wide battle (forerunner vs Precursors mabey) or forerunner vs flood or just something else. Then also it clearly showed a ship leaving forward into dawn most likely one of thoses jet vehicles (the name escapes me) it then shows Chief looking at a ship which looks in human origin, which would mean there were other humans on it because that ship he woke up on would never survie a crash into the planet, unless an alien force affected the control of the ships crash. I have to go. And ill tell you the rest of my theory later.

Yes, I've actually always hoped maybe the possibility of seeing the spirit of fire there would be nice, considering they were launched a good ways into space like the Chief, and I mean, come on, who wouldn't wanna see Red team again? But yea, I hope to see alot more of the halo universe in this game.
