Sorry, I just got fed up reading all the negatively titled threads so I'm starting a good one...

Best parts about halo 4

Campaign

-The Campaign was so in depth and detailed and just generally awesome

-It has been by far the best game I've ever played at getting by emotions involved and yes by the end I was in tears

-The new race of enemies put me out of my comfort zone as I was getting to learn the best ways at killing the Forerunners, this was particularly noticeable on my second play through on legendary, which surprisingly I am finding easier than when I first played Heroic.

-The new weapons were very nicely done and apart from the incineration canon none of them are too overpowered ;), despite this though they still got across through the weapons how much more advanced the forerunners are.

-The development of Chief's and Cortana's characters was incredible and really made you even more attached to them

-I like the new supporting characters - mainly Lasky and Palmer

Multiplayer

-Despite complaints from some about no respawn time etc, I personally thinks it just adds to the madness that is a Halo fight

-I think all the maps are brilliantly designed so there is virtually no camping what so ever

-I like having custom classes, it allows people to specialise their gameplay but it doesn't give new players too much of a disadvantage as the weapons and abilities aren't too powerful

-Spartan Ops is just a genius alternative to firefight and adds more story to the game

-I think the player cards as opposed to just names is a very nice touch along with changing infection to flood and not allowing people to change their vote - stops people voting with the majority, happened all the time on Reach

Improvements for Halo 5

-BRING BACK CORTANA... my preference anyway ;)

-Make it ASAP.

*sighs* Why do i always have to recite the same part in every discussion?

Oh, well, i will be the most hated member on this forum, lol

No, it's not the best Halo ever. Maybe it's the best game you ever played, and i'm happy about it.

Two main reasons it's not the best Halo installment so far:

1-Very poor characterizations of secondary characters: beside MC and Cortana, i found little-to-no feeling with Lasky, Del Rio, Palmer, the S-IVs. No connection with the others Halos, like Hood, Vadam, Rtas, and the poor Johnson. Last but not least, the Covenants-Storm seems like to be placed there just to make an appearance; no explaination why are they there, what is their purpose, who is their commander, how they managed to be there. There is just a terminal, where we can see 'Mdama saying they're there because they found the coordinates of Requiem.

I read Glasslands, so i know everything. But it would've been great if we had a deepening of the Sangheili Civil war. I miss Rtas 'Vadum.

2-Poor importance given to the awaking of the Didact. We all (should) know who is he, how important is, or better was, his role. I mean, he is probably the main antagonist of the next trilogy: we do awake him in a few seconds! Then he comes down from a flower, he "wears" his armor, and then try to kill everyone. The dialogue is so fast that i had to listen to it a couple times before i could understand it!

This is just my mere opinion. I like it as a story evolution, as a multiplayer competitive game, as a sequel to Halo 3. As i like to say: "It's a step, maybe uncertain, to perfection."

I can see where you're coming from on the secondary character development bit. However I think they're trying to use Forward Unto Dawn and Spartan Ops to build up some characters more and I suspect characters such as Lasky and Palmer will have a much large role in the coming games.

Well according to you maybe, but according to critics it's metric score is lower than Halo, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Reach. You don't really say anything to support your argument other that it was the best ever. So your not actually making an argument, rather you are making a claim or statement. Given the fan response I would have to go with it not being the best. My reasons have already been stated on this board, so I won't waste my time repeating them.

Some advice if you want to make that argument, try supporting them with some depth to your claims.

I liked Lasky but I am not a big fan of his future as it makes no sense. Don't want to spoil it for anyone but it literally makes no sense. In this game he was fine, except for the fact that he new the Chief to begin with and they should have made that much more clear in the game. In fact the Chief is his hero. I get the Chief not remembering him but Lasky should have been a lot more animated about seeing his hero, who just saved his life, again.

It's not me who found it easier 2nd time on legendary then!

I think it's being more cautious; looking for ammo and the right weapons before charging in. On heroic I didn't really do that.

Well said sir, especially the point on the campers. It's much harder to do that now and gameplay needed speeding up.

BUT....does anyone else find fighting prometheans a bit repetitive?

A tad repetitive, but it's cause the knights are so hard to kill so you end up finding a technique and just continuing to use it and as far as the crawlers go, well it makes no sense to kill them with anything but a headshot. Also about the legendary thing, it's definitely because I'm more cautious, although I'm finding it easier to a certain extent, it's taking me twice as long.

I'm sorry if it came across the wrong way, but I wasn't looking for an argument just starting a thread for people who really enjoyed the game because as far as I can see there are more negative ones, though most with many positive replies about the game.

And I think I said a fair amount to support my view other than what I put in the title... But whatever.

I don't feel that Del Rio lacked character. I think there was a lot of emotion from him. Mainly "What's this guys problem?" I get the feeling by his statements he harbors a personal resentment for the master chief, in which I would have loved for them to explain WHY.

I dislike their portrayal of Captain Lasky. He was built up nicely in FUD, and then? Halo 4 Lasky is nothing remotely close to that. At the end of FUD I felt like he was a hardcore, comitted soldier. At the end of Halo 4 I felt like he was a Happy Go Lucky guy who got a good job in the Navy. He doesn't feel like he fits into his role as Captain, but he does feel like he fits into a friend of the Master Chief. I just hope that 343 can decide which one he is or, if both make him feel like the man he seemed like in Forward Unto Dawn. I just didn't see him as the cunning leader that he was portrayed as when we first met him in the Live Action Series.

When I say argument I mean as in a debate, I don't do blog fighting as it is pointless. You may think you said a lot but it was pretty superfical, feel free to go in depth. I get it you want to keep it short on a blog, but who cares what other people think. You may point out something I missed and relay that information to me giving me a greater view of the game.

I tend to encourage writing, I think it's a good thing. Well good writing is, then you have twilight and the like and I don't encourage that at all.

The score could have been a bit better. Wasn't bad, just wasn't as good as the others. Having just been through episode 3 of spartan ops, I think we should all agree it's better than firefight!

Nope. Firefight was a continuous challenge, where you were encouraged to repeat the mission to increase your score. Thing that i couldn't see in here. But S-Ops continues the story and it seems to be interesting, and that's why i play it. The only reason, probably

There i can see we both share the same opinion. And i dislike Lasky's characterization too. I loved FUD, even my mum asked to see it when she saw me watching an episode, but here Lasky seems to be emotionless. To everything.
