As you may or not be aware, MLG will be hosting a Halo 4 pre-release tournament. MLG, Major League Gaming, has been home the for showcasing the best players that Halo has to offer. Like myself, many of you may have watched countless hours of MLG game play videos or streams via majorleaguegaming.com or actually attended tournaments that have been close to your home town.

Here are the particulars of the upcoming event in Dallas as provided by MLG.com. We will have a member of our News team there performing interviews and collecting information for us as well as searching out any new Halo 4 information.

"As we approach the MLG Fall Championship in Dallas from November 2-4, we are excited to share new details about the pre-release Halo 4 tournament.

The Tournament

Some of the world’s best teams and players including past MLG Halo Champions Instinct and Status Quo, renowned player Ogre 1, Call of Duty team Optic, and more will compete in the 4 v 4 tournament for a chance at $40,000 in prizes. Competitors will have the opportunity to practice and scrimmage on Friday, November 2 beginning at 1:30pm with the competition taking place on Saturday, November 3 and Sunday, November 4. Passes are available now.

In Dallas, teams will compete in a dedicated tournament area with a feature station showcasing select matches leading up to the finals on Championship Sunday. A large video screen above the competition area will broadcast gameplay for spectators to congregate and watch the action LIVE from the show floor.

The Broadcast and Casters

The three-day online broadcast will be cast by legendary Halo Pro Kyle "Elamite" Elam and Halo coach and personality Andy “Bravo” Dudynsky. Fans can watch the competition LIVE at www.majorleaguegaming.com via a dedicated Halo 4 stream beginning Friday, November 2nd at 5pm CST."

I literally posted the exact same topic this morning at 7:30... Why is there all of a sudden TWO MLG Forums??

Halo 4 MLG is a new chapter for Halo MLG play! When the time comes, adjustments will be made in the forum to reflect the change from the old to the new. This is the MLG forum for Halo 4, the other was MLG for Reach. Also note the date of my OP.

I watched some of the games this weekend. My favorite match up by far was the games between Instinct and The Fun Police. It was inspiring to me how a bunch of people who were almost unknown to the MLG world came out and got a game against one of the best MLG teams in the world. Despite falling short in the end The Fun Police set an example for all of those who hope to make it someday.
