Halo 4 or 2012 Election

  1. 1. Seeing as they fall on the same day, which is more important:

It's a cruel thing to release Halo 4 on election day. For one it's still over a month away and two I just know the election is going to eat into my gaming time. Even though this will be the first presidential election I can vote in, Halo 4 is by far more important to me. With the awareness that this poll will be biased I ask you: Which is more important/anticipated to you, Halo 4 or the election and why.

Though Halo 4 will be quite important to me, it is very necessary to pay attention to the election. Everyone has a right to withhold their vote but that doesn't mean they should. Many people ignore and hate politics, but considering they reign over our everyday lives, they require at least some attention. Voting for its leaders is something that defines America, and if the greater portion of the populace simply ignores it than we might as well be socialist.

If you are smart(I hope so!) you'll ignore the damned election.

Me being Canadian and all, I honestly couldn't care less about your government or it's leaders.(adopt that attitude!)

Already have xD

Really, I don't care about this country anymore. Even if I did I'd find Halo 4 more important xD

"If you don't root for the team, get the hell out of the stadium."

I love America, and I am only 16. Meaning Halo 4 is literally all I got going on that day! But honestly, fellow Americans, How can you say you don't care for this country anymore? Other than Canada, you would not fit in anywhere. America is the only place like it. If you don't like your own country, migrate. Sure, I hate our government, but I love our country.

I phrased it wrong xD This is a beautiful country, I just hate the government and policies and such. I've actually planned on moving to another country like Sweden or something one day, but I'll always love the country ^_^

I wouldn't say Canada is even remotely similar to the US, I suggest you don't say that, we prefer that we aren't compared to our neighbours to the south. My reasoning behind this, is because growing up we got US tv and all the news on it was never good, 1/50 times the news was actually good, but besides that it was normally murders, robberies, car jackings, fire fights...

So far political beliefs haven't been said to my surprise, but you're right in that national beliefs are beginning to plague us. People -or rather, a person- is making ignorant generalizations about a nation because of its media and we're only nine posts in. Ryu, I agree with what you said. I've already given my opinion on the matter so I'll leave the thread to you fine fellows.

What!? Isnt news solely composed of robberies, murders, and fights everywhere?!

As much as I dislike a lot of things about the U.S. its still one of the greatest places to live for various reasons. And seeing as im not able to vote because im barely not eligible its all Halo 4!

I enourage people who can vote to go out and vote, you have the opportunity so why let it go to waste?

Not really, well, at least not where I'm from, news is any general happening, most of the times back In my hometown, it was like charity events and sports things.

I think it depends like on if the news is local or not, makes a big difference imo. Big news is all about capturing the most viewers

Wow. Politcal beliefs aside, any US Citizen that is old enough to vote should. You're not just deciding on a person to lead, you're deciding on the direction of our country for the next four years. While the two canidates may seem to "be the same," I'd urge you to actually go out and do some research on both of them. Voting is an important part of life in the US, and it is not something that should be taken lighly.

The "I hate this government" mentality is deserved to some degree, our government hasn't done anything worthwhile for the people in quite some time. But on the same hand, if everybody adopts this mentality, then what's going to change?

As for our neighbors to the north, :P We don't care what you think anyway. (Joking) Seriously, Killerdude, I know where you're coming from. But for every murder, for every car jacking, for every crime that's reported, I can point out a story that is inspiring and meaningful that is also reported. I don't know what part of Canada you're from, so I don't know what news broadcasts you're receiving, but I can assure you, the entire country is not like that.

If you do indeed love America, DON'T VOTE!

If you know anything about the American election process, and I assume you don't if you're voting, you'd know that the popular vote, aka the individual votes of every citizen, doesn't count at all. The Electoral College votes are what matter. Why is this important? Because the Electoral College is SUPPOSED to represent each of their respective states. Here's the problem. Are they more likely to support their constituents that pay them approx. $70,000 a year, or a private interest that can offer them that in a day?

The electoral process in America is beyond a joke. It is a festering wound. If you care at all about the future of America, get these old men out of congress and the senate and get some new blood that's independent instead of either Republican or Democrat. Then abolish the Electoral College and pass a law that requires everyone serving in public office to disclose their personal financial information so we can always follow the money. Do this with LOCAL elections, NOT national! Local elections are something that YOU can decide.

Do yourself a favor. If you're American, play Halo 4 on Nov. 6. DON'T VOTE! If you do, you are disrespecting everyone who has fought and died for the Ideals of America. Ideals that unfortunately are long dead.

That is all. Thank you.
