  2. Halo was the first console game I ever played and has been special to my heart. I was in the process of completing the cross platform "The Master Chief Saga" playlist and the playlist reset back to the first level. All the work I have done means nothing now even though the playlist says I completed all the levels I previously completed. It just won't continue where I left off. This has been a problem for months for other people and I am shocked that it hasn't been fixed. I know I can play the games individually, but the fact that this has not been fixed with Halo 5 only being two weeks away makes me feel a bit cheated as a Halo fan. I know the game was a big undertaking to begin with, but it is hard as a fan to loose progress for an achievement or playlist, especially for fans who do not have a lot of time. 343, please consider fixing this issue and good luck with the Halo 5 release. Praying for the best, Josh
  3. After the last MCC content update (the big one that was supposed to fix everything) I noticed the faster search times, more stable games/lobbies, etc. But one big problem (for me anyways) I found was that 343i changed the max players on the Big Team Battle playlist. Before the patch it was 16 players 8v8 max, but after the patch its now 14 players 7v7 max. They didn't mention this in the patch notes at all, and every time someone brings it up it just gets ignored, from what I've seen. It might seem like a small minute problem to some of you, and I can understand that. For me though (and I'm sure I'm not the only one), Big Team is my favorite playlist, and in every single Halo game, Big Team Battle has always been 16 players 8v8. Always. For 343i to just all the sudden bring the max players down to 14 and not explain why, or even mention it at all, is a bit wrong honestly. I really hope 343i gets better at communicating with the community, and works on their public relations as a whole. The small things like this actually matter and add up. I'm totally not trying to be one of those "SCREW 343i, BURN BONNIE ROSS AT THE STAKE" type people XD (you all know the type of people I'm talking about. Just check /r/HaloCircleJerk on reddit hahaha), but I'm just saying how 343i should work on a number of things.
  4. Is there any plan to put in a Halo 1 playlist? For over a decade now, I've been waiting for a way to play THE Halo online (other than xbconnect). My first dissapointment was anniversary, which was NOT Halo 1. It was reskinned reacharound. Then when I heard my nostalgic gaming pipe dream was finally going live, two console generations later, I jumped at the opportunity! When I finally got one of my old Halo buddies and brother around to play (unfortunately only two controllers, if guest support works for H1 then we'd be in business). Sure I have a few minor gripes: It's a port of Halo PC, not the original Xbox version (any Halohead would immediately notice the difference). There are campaign tweaks for increased enemies and disabling of some fun glitches. Although you can go back to original music, you cannot go back to original sound effects (most noticable with the guns). The multiplayer netcode is on the same plane as Gearbox's unpatched entry (i.e. aim 2 feet in front of any moving guy, and shields may show up after they're down --even after death). And to touch on Halo 2, it's the patched version which fixes some griefer glitches, but has the laser-like battle rifle (bleh). Okay, now that my uterian flushing has been vented, here is my main gripe: THERE IS NO DEDICATED HALO 1 PLAYLIST! I've been waiting over a decade to rekindle my love of this classic of LAN party games, and maybe one game in 6 is the original game. Between H2 BRs and H3 nausea, I can only get a mere taste of why I bought the package. Not to mention --there is a team glitch, where half the time I'm playing AGAINST my friend! Talk about screen-peeking issues. The praise I can give is that the few rounds I have played have adhered to the MLG-esque gametype: AR and Pistol Starting weapons Green Indicator over heads FF on No Motion Tracker (iirc. This particular feature is important to play-style) 4v4 (I'm open to 8v8 on larger maps, but not the rumored 2v2) If only there were other LAN classics like sniper-only (no pistol secondary), no-shield shotgun (team and FFA), and 8v8 CTF. So, are we any closer to a Halo: Combat Evolved ONLY playlist? With friends who only play Halo 1, and a few with 1 and 2, we haven't been jiving at all with this H1,2,2.5,3 team slayer playlist, opting to quit whenever it's not the original. Please give me some good news 343!
  5. Doubles (ranked) Snipers (ranked) Halo 2 Classic (ranked or social) FFA (ranked) Team Objective (social) Living dead or flood (social) Swat (social) Team Slayer (ranked) [remove halo ce maps] Big Team (social) These are all of the ranked and social playlist that should be in the game or just stay the way they are after MCC is all fixed.
  6. You guys need to make a playlist just for a specific game and not group all 4 halo's into one playlist like big team battle. Make a big team battle for halo 1, halo 2, halo, 3 and halo4. Have them separate. For example I wanted to just play Halo 1 team slayer and couldn't do that cause there are no halo 1 playlists for me to join! If need be you should organize the matchmaking playlists like the example below. Matchmaking . Halo MCC o Slayer o Big Team Battle . Halo 1 o Slayer o CTF o Big Team Battle . Halo 2 o “” . Halo 3 o “” . Halo 4 o “”
  7. What's up everyone! There's an idea that I thought and came up with last night. Maybe a lot of people already thought of it already but I've never seen it anywhere so I'll bring it up here for discussion. The idea is "Teabag Confirmed"! If you've played "Kill Confirmed" in Call of Duty, then perhaps you know right away what I'm talking about. In this case it should work for slayer and team slayer. You kill and then have to teabag the body in order to score for your team or yourself. The body however, will also be available for the other team to come and deny the confirmation (meaning if they walk up to the corpse, they've removen the possibility for the other team to score through teabagging the body). Denying the score through teabagging does not score for you, it only prevents the enemy team from scoring. Since walking over the body is all that takes to deny it, it shouldn't deserve score When you're playing free for all (regular slayer/rumble pit), The only one who should be able to score is the killer, and the only one able to deny the score should be the victim. Thereby the respawning should be in normal state. That was it. If I've missed anything or if you have other ideas for improvement, please leave a reply. Thank you!
  8. I need a little help 343. I'm getting older, far from old but older. My memory never was the greatest and I constantly call people by the wrong name or forget their name altogether. Now you tell me I have over 100 maps at launch of the HMCC not including what will likely become a floodgate of maps in forge in the first few weeks. If Reach's Forge is any indication, I will once again be utterly lost as to which maps I am looking at in my map list. I could barely keep up with my own creations let alone some of the amazing Forge's out there. There was a time, a more rough and yet somehow simpler time. A time of UT99. Yes waaaaaay back in the past on Good Ol original Unreal Tournament where you could actually take a screenshot of your map creation and post it alongside your map name to be displayed in the playlist. Oh what a wonder it was to not have to look at 800 identical Forgeworld screenshots and guess the verb of the map you wanted to play. Please for the love of God allow us to set our own map playlist screenshot (or 3) so that those of us that control the playlist don't have to leave those of us waiting to participate in a game to suffer as we load 8 maps trying to find "the map". Bloody Mess Blood Gulch Blood Letter Coagulation Debilitation Obfuscation I find it much easier to find: Revenant Rampage Arena - - - - - - - - - - - - - Revenant Slam Fest Revenant Valhalla Revenant Zeta It's a bit of a big image but I was too lazy to resize and you get my point. Plus lets be honest being able to 'one touch' enlarge the map list screenshot would also be a nice Feature Please help me find my maps.
  9. I hate Halo 4 matchmaking (exception being Team Throwdown). It's simply not competitive enough for my tastes. I like to have some purely casual playlists, but it shouldn't be the majority of the game. To be honest, most of my fun in Halo 4 multiplayer only comes from my experiences in competitive customs with my fellow clan members. Although they have Pro gametypes in some playlists, I want more playlists made entirely of game types like these. When I go to a playlist, usually I want to have a balanced competitive experience but instead what happens about half the time is that an infinity gametype is voted, and we all know how much of a mess Infinity Slayer is. My proposal is that 343 Industries adds four playlists to Halo 4 that'd fit solely to the more competitive crowd. Not as strict or harsh as some players find MLG/Team Throwdown to be but not as chaotic and unskillful the normal playlists can be. These playlists should have preset loadouts, 5-second respawns, a number of armor abilities a player can choose from (Hardlight Shield, Thruster Pack, Regen Field, and Hologram I think would be good), static weapon spawns (maybe there could be SOME random ordnance but weapon drops would need one or two clips worth of ammo each, and would need to be sparse), 120% movement speed, and maybe enhanced versions of active camo and jet pack could be picked up by players on the map. For team based modes, players should also be forced into game chat. The playlists would be Slayer Pro (4v4), Rumble Pro (8 players), Objective Pro (5v5) and Doubles Pro (2v2). Maybe if players wanted it, there could be a playlist called Duel Pro which would essentially be 1on1. What do y'all think?

    Team DLC numbers

One of the largest topics that seems to be spamming up these fora is people complaining about not being able to play the DLC maps. And yet, we now have a DLC playlist for just 2 weeks and it has a population lower than all but throwdown. If people want a DLC playlist so badly, why aren't the numbers showing it?
  11. Hello all out there. I have some problems with Halo 4 Castle DLC, and the achievement Ashes to ashes. When i search for a game in any playist, i can't find any of the Castle maps. I've tried to play with friends and found Daybreak or Perdition, we tryed everything to get Ashes to ashes, but nothing unlocks it. Got at least 50 kills in total yesterday with Binary Rifle, Incineration Cannon, Pulse Grenade and Scattershot, on Castle maps - Still not unlocking. then i tried go to Team Slayer to find it my self, but still no luck, cannot find any Castle maps in there. only the Common, free maps are showing. Things i've tried: Unstall game - install again Delete everything and transfer to other harddrive - try from beginning to install everything. Recover profile. Uninstall everything except Castle DLC, and updates + Wargames unlock. Play every playlist at least 10 rounds trying to find a Castle Map. No luck. Tryed connect 4 controllers to reduce player count so at least 4 players have Castle. Boosting. (still glitchy) Please tell me if there are anything i can do. Or will there come an update to solve those glitching Achievements. This annoys me alot when it is the only Achievement i miss. Sorry for bad english or misspelling.
  12. you would think that the following week after Castle was released, there would be a DLC Playlist for the 9 maps of the map packs (not including Forge Island) [which didnt happen] its such a hassle to have to switch to different playlists to play a couple of maps *remember: these are just theories of what could happen until 343 says and does something* the quotes below are from the waypoint forum just because a dlc map choice appears at voting, doesnt mean it will get voted for or recieve the most votes the quotes below are from various different sites while looking for any useful info i dont see how this quote fits into this "three or four months after a map pack goes online, most "core" playlists like Infinity Slayer and Big Team Infinity Slayer should be made DLC-mandatory, just like Halo 3" after the last quote listed, the only thing that came up in searches was informaton relating to the different dlc map packs such as the maps, achievements, and reviews at this time, all we can really do is make different theories and guess
  13. This video will tell you what goes through my mind when I think about halo. What I would like to see and play as. I'd like to mix it up a bit and have different playlist as well as characters. I hope they change it up just a bit so people can get a good laugh out of halo just like the playlist "Mini Slayer" Fun and new. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdohz7fijd0

    team redicide

I miss team regicide I want it to return. I don't like to play ffa I always do bad because I'm more of a team player. The team regicide should be put in the regicide playlist and have the number of players to 8, have it be put in with infinity slayer, or have it be put in the objective playlist and raise the score to 750 or 1000 (just in objective raise the score). P.S. And if it is put in infinity slayer or objective ffa regicide should be put in the rumble pit playlist.
  15. I noticed that objective playlists are being cycled in and out depending on their popularity. For example, right now there is no Team King or Team Extraction playlist. I say instead of fragmenting the objective players into several groups, lump them all together into one playlist. And now with the option to choose from one of three gametypes in a game lobby, the most popular gametype will be chosen so no one will have to play, say, Team King if they don't want to. I know my friends and I would enjoy staying with one group of players for a while playing different objective gametypes compared to now where we have to quit out whenever we get tried of, say, Team Ball. The playlist could look like this: Team Skirmish - CTF - Team Ball - Team King - Team Extraction - Team Regicide Thoughts?
  16. Hey guys my name is jCoze, and that is also my xbox live gamertag. I was doing some reading up on Game Theory, and I ran into Zero-Sum Theorum. I won't get into it here, but basically that is what real competative gaming should be like. I have created an easy-to-make gametype called Zero-Sum Slayer. Getting kills gives your team points and getting killed loses your team points. First team to 5 points to win, best of 3 rounds.I'm sure this gametype has been tried, but i personally haven't seen anybody playing it. I takes more teamwork and cooperation than most matchmaking playlists, which i love slash miss. If you are not into teamwork and winning then this gametype is not for you. Most likely you wouldn't even like it anyways. Message me on XBL or just don't talk to me at all, download it off my fileshare and play it with your buddies.
  17. i think i can call myself a veteren to halo as i've been playing them since they've been out. Matchmaking has always been a huge part of it especially around Halo 3 (My all time favorite). Halo has always had a pretty balanced multiplayer and i usually have very few issues with them. Except one thing. Grenades. Now i understand thats its part of war and battle, whatever, and its a huge part of the game. Someone runs behind cover you throw grenades to get him. i understand. But when you get into a firefight with someone and your charging at them, you expect them to shoot back right? Well not in Halo 4. With the new loadout system a vast majority of players all have plasma grenades and will just throw grenades hopeing to stick because they dont want to fight back. or they'll see you coming on the radar and will toss all they have at the entryway having some 12 grenades coming at you and getting killed before you have a chance to fight, let alone see the enemy. Now don't get the wrong idea. I'm not saying they're overpowered or that they should be taken out of the game. you cant do that. What i'm saying is that a playlist like good ole regular infinity slayer would be great if there was no grenades flying around. It would give players a chance to actually show their marksmanship skills. Some feedback would be nice. Let me know what all you think. Lets get this going! (One more thing: What's up with spawning with only 1 Pulse grenade)
  18. Dont get me wrong Halo 4 is soooo much better than Halo Reach and I know its only been about a month and a half of game play, but come on we need new Playlists to keep players interested. Ive been playing Halo since 2002 so I didnt fall into the CoD fanbase that easily, but CoD has frequent updates on their playlist and make their players happy again and again. Halo seems to try and copy more than be themselves. By far the best online game ever was Halo 2 and since then they have changed up I believe waayy too much. But whatevs its the future so we had to see that coming. To conclude my rambling I will say Halo 4 did bounce back the online community but we need to keep it going and get back some of our favorite playlist. Such as Doubles, Snipers, BTB (not just slayer), Grifball, MLG, and Multiteam. 343 is doing an awesome job though!
  19. Classic Slayer Playlist was done by me for Forum Dinosaur, so i thought i'd give it a shot for you guys to try it out. i'm hosting it today for anyone to try it out. let me know by sending me the friend request or post a post on this thread to join in. if you want to try it, let me know. i'm happy to host it for Community members. EDIT: Playdate: Classic Slayer - December 16th - 17th. 16th starts at 6:00 AM and ends at 17th 1:00 PM. Map: Haven Information: Assault Rifle and Magnum. classic slayer game for fun. the game will be playing as long here are players. if the owner, (me) decide to take break, i will let everyone know. it's only fair Score: 1000. Rounds: 2. can be modified to 3 or more as the players vote for round number.
  20. Since this seems like an official site of 343i (apart from waypoint), I thought I would just ask, I know it's the lead up to christmas and all, but what is the news on how the playlists are being affected and when the full playlists will be implemented? I've heard that they will be up in time, but has any sort of a timescale been set to do this? I don't think it's just me who wants to know this, i'm sure other community members are keen to find out when that little bit of something extra in matchmaking is going to be added, making this already awesome game, perfect (popular classic gametypes, map rotation etc.). I also think that there has been a lot of input from the community about this sort of stuff and yeah, it's a great game and I realise it hasn't been out for long, but I can't help but wonder if 343i will take up the role that bungie left with as much enthusiasm towards the concerns of the community as bungie originally did. Anyone hear what i'm saying?
  21. I am just wondering if Grifball will make a come back to Halo 4 because that be cool and awesome playlist to see in Halo 4.
  22. So, what we have is a smorgesboard of playlists, but they are all completely separated. CTF, KotH, Ball, and the other objective playlists should be narrowed into a single playlist of team objective. Regicide is alright, Infinity Slayer is alright, Slayer Pro is lacking, but alright. As for BTB, why is it only slayer? Add some objective types to it, or at least make a BTB objective playlist. Also, we have a FFA in Regicide, but there are no objective based FFAs. Bring in a classic Rumble Pit playlist with a mix of traditional slayer and objective game types. Im glad you all wasted no time getting Snipes and SWAT out there. But, now as a classic Halo-er... I don't mind ordinances and special loadouts and such... but that is freaking COD. I want to play REAL Halo. I want everyone to start with an AR and a magnum and two frags. I want the weapons to be on the maps like they used to, with spawn times I could track and control. I want the maps to be more balanced for real STRATEGIC map control, none of this spawn in random locations nonsense. You can't lock down maps any more competitively. There are no decent maps like Lockout/Guardian for one on ones and small FFAs in customs anymore. (I am actually working and close to finishing a Lockout remake in forge that is beautiful.) None of the maps have a sense of true urgency to them. The best ones I have to say are Haven, Ragnarok, and Adrift. The rest, I feel you could port onto COD and play the exact same way. Five shot kills? Adjust player health and damage in the custom setting for four shot kills again. And reduce the rifles on the map to BRs only, no DMRs. I don't know why you guys separated the original role of the BR into two different rifles other than to appease both the Reach kids and the old fags like myself. And I wish you would have followed through with your promise to be able to disable sprinting. Sprinting really ruins the flow of the games. The only way you compensated it by was making the maps way larger, giving the DMR a more natural edge over the BR anyways. And... thats not a good thing. These massive maps, as I said earlier, aren't as urgent.
  23. Halo 4 for the Xbox 360 was only released just this week and 343 Industries announced Friday a playlist update coming next week. While Halo: Reach enjoyed monthly playlist updates, 343 Industries plans weekly updates for Halo 4. "We will maintain a static set of playlists and feature one or two “rotational” playlists on top of that," community manager Jessica Shea wrote on Halo Waypoint. "We will be monitoring trends and statistics closely so we can react accordingly to your preferences and likes. For instance, if one of our rotational playlists consistently holds a higher population than one of our static playlists, we will consider swapping them out based on player demand. The process will be fluid and based on numbers, and we’re extremely excited about the benefits of our new approach." So what is coming with the first playlist update? SWAT with some changes to both weapon damage and the HUD. Players will be equipped with Battle Rifles, DMRs and Magnums, have no shield or radar tracking, and will not be able to use ordnance drops in this game mode. Here is how 343 Industries tweaked the three weapons for SWAT. DMR – 3 bullets to the chest, 1 bullet to the head Magnum – 3 bullets to the chest, 1 bullet to the head BR – 7 bullets to the chest (this gun shoots three bullets in a burst, so the first bullet of the third burst will kill the player), 1 bullet to the head Here are the maps that will be available in the SWAT playlist. Haven Adrift Complex Abandon Solace Source: http://www.examiner.com/article/first-halo-4-multiplayer-playlist-update-coming-next-week-with-swat
  24. I feel like thee should be a Big Team Slayer playlist option for match making. Now im not talking about Infinity Big Team, myself among many others I have spoken to, think that the option to order power weapns after as little as three or four kills is somewhat overpowerd. That is not to say that there is no place for Infinity Big Team, for the most part it is enjoyable, but on Ragnarock for example this feature can seem at best 'gimmicy' because of the excessive amount of 'camping' snipers due to the ordenace drops. I think that adding the playlist option of a core Big Team will end this sometimes frustraighting problem by adding an alternative to it.
