  1. Hello everybody! It's Maestro here with Site Poll 103! To recap the previous poll from what feels like ages ago, everyone agreed that Infinite will be released on Xbox and mostly agreed that it would be on PC as well. Speaking of Halo and PCs, 343 Industries made a HUGE announcement earlier today: the Master Chief Collection will be released on PC and Steam, and Reach will be added to it on all platforms! So my question for you is: How do you feel about this news? Are you excited for it or are you freakin' HYPED for it? I'm looking forward to seeing your thoughts and opinions on it! You can also answer on our Twitter page. Maestro out! ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
  2. This list will be updated in the future as I come by more codes that I don't need Available codes will be gifted via PM for free, once per member. Any spare codes I have afterwards may be claimed again by the same member if no other member wants the code. Remember, this is a giveaway! Not a contest.. ask if you want a code, a list of games WILL be updated once I obtain the codes I will not use. Current games: Jotun Valhalla (steam edition) Else Heart.Break() Pixel Puzzles 2: Anime (Was sent another code by the devs, don't need this one) Shadowrun: Hong Kong Extended Edition Sam & Max: Season One (Also a dev gift, oddly enough did not receive second season..) Current DLC Warframe Vectis Sniper Rifle and Vectis Tekelu Skin (1) [Xbox One]
  3. Steam Summer Sale 2015 The beloved steam sale has begun! From June 11th to the 22nd, thousands of deals for Steam games will be available. If you have any games you would suggest other members of the forum pick up (such as those you want to play with other members), post them below, especially if they go on a super sale! Feel free to coordinate and discuss! Also try to include how intensive a game runs. If you haven't already, make sure to join the steam group, and make sure to share you Steam ID below so we can add you: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/343iCF Sikslik7's Suggestions: Total War: Attila (RTS/TBS mix, set during the fall of Rome, heavy on computers, but playable on most) Total War: Rome II (RTS/TBS mix, set during the rise of Rome, somewhat heavy on CPU, but playable on most) Agoe of Empires II HD and Age of Empires 3 (RTS games similar in style to Halo Wars, Each is different, but both a great buy, runs on most computers without problems) Don't Starve Together Beta (Survival game, many members have it, can run on most computers) Civilization V (Classic TBS, most people have it, runs on most computers) 7 Days to Die (Hardcore Minecraft, with guns and zombies. You'll hate the early game, but that just makes you want to play it more.
  4. The updated Alienware Alpha, a spin-off of the original concept including a Steam Controller and SteamOS, is coming this year bundled with Windows and an Xbox 360 controller! Earlier last year, Alienware showed off their model of a Steam Machine, giving some details on the specifications and what it could do with SteamOS in it, as well as the Steam controller. When Valve however delayed the Steam Machine to 2015, Alienware began production on a spin-off version, without SteamOS and the controller, and according to Polygon.com, that version is the Alienware Alpha. The Alpha will contain an Xbox 360 controller bundled, and Windows 8.1 interface. Alienware has said that when the SteamOS and Controller launch, they will be fully compatible with the Alpha, and that SteamOS is fully ready to be installed on Day One on the platform, but we'll have to wait until 2015 to get it. It will launch this holiday for $550 and the SteamOS and Controller will become available at an unannounced date in 2015. It will run any current game on 1080p and 60fps. View attachment: Alpha-Top-Banner-Alpha-Xbox360-20140610.png What do you think of this news? Will you be purchasing the Alpha, or do you fully need the SteamOS before making a transaction? Let me know below, thanks for reading the article!
  5. The second coming of Christ video game, known as Grand Theft Auto V, has surpassed a few big steam giants and become a top dog. At this point, you either own Grand Theft Auto V, or you've heard of it, the game is so widespread there isn't a soul on this earth who hasn't. In large part because of this, GTA V's recent PC launch has broken a previous record on Steam, as reported by Polygon.com. You see, taking a few steps back, on November 11th, 2011, a little title by the name of The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim released on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, and topped Steam's record of non-Valve games at 280,000 players in one day. Well, a new alpha of the pack has risen, as GTA V topped off at 301,246 when it peaked in players today. The game launched to (still) successful reviews and has been in the running since back in Summer of 2014 for PC. GTA V is one of the only games to have such a life cycle where 2 years can pass and sales stay just as strong. Don't underestimate it though, DOTA 2 is still Steam's overall top dog with a player count bypassing a million, and Counter-Strike is nipping at it's heels. GTA V has a long way to go before becoming the king of Steam. View attachment: GTA-V_franklinsniping_1920x1080.jpg I've heard nothing but good things about GTA V on the PC, with the new support systems for Mods, 4K, 60fps, and more, it's been nothing but fun, but let us know down below if you own it how this port has been handled. Thanks for reading, see you all next time.

  7. The popular Xbox One ''exclusive'' Ryse: Son of Rome is getting a PC release this fall on digital download locations like Steam, and full retail releases handled by Deep Silver. Ryse: Son of Rome was a very poorly received game by most critics, with the general public calling the game mediocre, needing quite a bit of work, and with the hype already dead and buried, this news may surprise you. According to IGN.com, Crytek has announced that due to community demand a PC release is underway, for digital download and retail, following the path of Xbox One exclusives like Dead Rising 3 and Titanfall. Crytek has said that the game will include all add-ons, some that were originally exclusive to the Day One Edition of Ryse on the Xbox One, and 4K resolution. Crytek made a long statement, saying, "We’ve given our team the opportunity to show what CRYENGINE can really achieve, without compromising quality. . .Ryse will be a benchmark PC graphics showcase this year and probably for a long time in future. Our community asked for a Ryse PC version, and we have the means and technology to deliver this title with the highest quality possible.” Removing all of the praise to PC Hardware, Crytek is basically stating how the community of fans for the game wished for a PC port remastering the quality, and that's what they're doing. No release is confirmed, but it is coming sometime in the fall, if it doesn't get delayed. 10. Xbox One's best-seller title Dead Rising 3, published and developed by Capcom, seems to be coming to Valve's PC service Steam according to a brief mistake on the Steam Database. Microsoft might finally be fulfilling Phil Spencer's goal of branching out to Windows platforms more, and to top with one of the Xbox One's most acclaimed launch titles. According to a Steam Database leak spotted by a Neogaf.com user, Dead Rising 3 will be arriving on Steam. This should basically confirm the title's jump to Steam, but we're left to wonder whether the timed exclusivity deal ended and Dead Rising 3 will also be ported to the PlayStation 4 or if it's staying as a Microsoft exclusive in the way Titanfall did. This could definitely boost the insane amount of copies already sold at 1.2 Million according to a results sheet dating back to March. Dead Rising isn't particularly known for being a Microsoft exclusive either way, as Dead Rising 2 was available on PS3 as well as the Xbox 360. View attachment: dead_rising_3_game-wide.jpg Do you want Capcom to branch out and launch the game on Steam and PlayStation 4? Let me know below, be sure to discuss, and thanks for reading!
  11. L4D2CZSE (Left 4 Dead 2 Community Zombie Slaughtering Event) Welcome to a proposal for a communal Left 4 Dead 2 event! The goal of the event is to get a group of 4 people (including me) together for a couple of rounds of Left 4 Dead 2. Here are the details: . When: o 06 April 2014 (Australians and co.) o OR o 05 April 2014 (Americans, the British, etc.) . What time: o This has yet to be decided largely because I’m still not sure who will be playing; if we get a ton of people from the USA, we’ll make it a time that’s best for them, and if we get a ton of people from Australia/New Zealand, we’ll make it a time that’s best for them. . People that are currently participating: o yotsuba_420 o ??? o ??? o ??? . Maps that will be played (all on normal difficulty unless we encounter problems): o We’ll start off with a round of campaign on “Dark Carnival” (30-60ish minutes) o Followed by a couple of rounds of survival on the custom map “Helm’s Deep” (20ish minutes per round, but completing a round is quite difficult) o Followed finally by the custom map “Back to School” where we’ll see how many parts of it we can get through before people get bored and/or have to leave (15ish minutes for each part of this custom map) I'm not completely familiar with the process that goes with Contests & Events related activities, but I do believe that to join, you should probably comment in this thread. I'll pick the first four replies and try to get a time that works for all of us.

  13. As you all may know by now, Valve had a very special week last week. It was their transition to living room gaming, potentially as a rivalry with the upcoming Xbox One, and Playstation 4. They had a 3-Part announcement all week. One. As you may know, the first announcement was about Steam OS... a Linux based operating system designed for gaming in the living room. Two. Second, was on Wednesday. Steam Machines was announced, which most know as the "Steam Box". Specifications will be customizable, as Valve is promoting hacking, and modding. Select companies, will have certification to make their own Steam Machines... an Alienware Steambox, anyone? Three... This is the best innovation I've seen in, well, 2-3 years actually. The next controller for PC's (any version of Steam) , and the Steam Machines will be: THE STEAM CONTROLLER!! It's beautiful. Let me explain people... The two discs on each side, are track pads. Now they are track pads, and they are clickable as well, and in some situations, DO FUNCTION AS speakers!! Then, in the center is a High-Resolution touch screen, that is a second screen in most cases, and can be used to scroll, etc. It's stunning. Then you have 4 buttons around it, 3 under the screen, and then on the back of the handle, you have two big ones - basically a clickable handle. Then, the triggers, of course. In fact, here is a controller layout for Portal 2 that Valve provided: P.S. It's also fully hackable. It Has Innovation Written All Over It. It differs greatly from our commonly know Xbox and PlayStation "Dual Shock" controllers. It is designed to combine the standard PC gaming mouse and keyboard, with the pro gamer controllers. It is a perfect combination, providing adaptability on both sides of the spectrum Read More at: Wired

  15. Linux Based OS For The TV and Living Room "As we’ve been working on bringing Steam to the living room, we’ve come to the conclusion that the environment best suited to delivering value to customers is an operating system built around Steam itself. SteamOS combines the rock-solid architecture of Linux with a gaming experience built for the big screen. It will be available soon as a free stand-alone operating system for living room machines." - Says Valve This will allow steam to have: Better Graphics Processing - "Game Developers" are already availing themselves to these performance perks "as they target SteamOS for their new releases" You can Stream games from you Windows or Mac system to a SteamOS machine. You will also be able to stream "Music, TV, and Movies" - Valve Says it's "working with many of the media services you know and love." No names yet but we can assume they want to compete with Roku/AppleTV. Plus "Family Sharing" - Announced a few weeks ago, Valve plans to let you have up to 10 friends (you choose) whom can each access your paid games and get their own achievements and their own save slots. On top of this, announcements are still to come, in the next few weeks, from Valve on even more plans for the future. Things such as: News regarding AAA titles coming natively to SteamOS in 2014. And, Gabe Newell promises STEAM BOX news next week!!! - At Linuxcon 2013, Newell stated that Valves next step will be to "release some work we've done on the hardware side." Newell said in March, that SteamBox Prototypes will be release in 2013. Check out more on this subject: Steam TimeTech CVG

  18. Lately a rumor has popped up about Halo coming to Steam...Microsoft has announced that this is not happening. The folowing is from an article on Kotaku.com Source This weekend, many noticed something curious: some Halo titles were listed in the Steam registry. Some assumed this meant that these titles were coming to Steam. According to a Microsoft spokesperson, that’s not the case. “We currently do not have plans to release any ‘Halo‘ titles on Steam,” said a Microsoft spokesperson to Kotaku. Sceptical? I wouldn’t blame you. When folks say there aren’t any plans, it sometimes actually means “not yet.” It’s worth noting that, unlike other titles which have now been confirmed — like Dyad — Halo 2 and Halo 3 pages were almost immediately taken down and can no longer be accessed. Maybe that means something. Maybe not.

  20. Hello there! You may know that console gaming never has and will never cover some of the amazing aspects covered by PC gaming. That's why I'm proposing a department dedicated to get members on "Steam", a free software which is like Skype, you can chat, voice or typing with a bunch of people; you can shop for PC games at a low price, it's like a hub for PC users. Of course, people who thought buying an Apple computer was a good idea can download the Apple version. PC Games can be sold for a beautifully low price, the new "Dawnguard" was reduced to £11.50 at release, that'll cost £40 on console; why not PC game? There's a wide variety of PC games that we would like this community to connect; from Steam games to non-Steam games. New to PC gaming? Want to try it? PC gaming offers a mature community; people who PC game use teamwork that's extremely rare to find in console games; PC games have loads of fun games that never get tedious, unlike some console games. There's Arma II, if you want an actual realistic war game that requires teamwork to win; it's a lot more fun than a standard console game where you all run out in a disorganised fashion, fighting free for all in team games. Here's a clip of a bunch of PC gamers playing Arma II. There's still plenty of joking around, lots of fun instead of constant cursing you'll find on console games. ** Warning, contains infrequent innapropiate language ** Of course, if you're not interested in PC gaming in itself, you can still use Steam to communicate via PC. This is just a petition for you to vote on wherever you think it's something that members should be able to enjoy; there's plenty to enjoy, no saying you have to use Steam at all.
