  1. I think Halo 5 will die just like Halo 4 did, but NOT for the same reasons. Halo 4 failed because it was trying to be something that it wasn't, while Halo 5 will die because of it's severity in lack of content and shortfall of community features. Halo 5 is also the lowest selling Main halo game of all time, and In all honesty that should not come surprising to you considering it only supports a mediocre campaign, an incomplete multiplayer experience, and Warzone. I think Halo 5 has so much potential, it could have been a great Halo game competing with the classics. Yet again, because of its ignorance of content and lack of community features that is not the case. I know what you are thinking... 343 are releasing the December update and adding more Free DLC so its not big deal. I'd say your entirely wrong, just because content is releasing in the future does not mean players will stick around waiting for it in the present. It's the first impression that counts the most, and Halo 5 completely missed its window of opportunity to impress gamers. Everyone that already left wont come back for an update that contains more content because the damage has already been done and they moved on the other games that set that good first impression. I'm interested to hear what you guys have to say about this.
  2. We already know that Halo 5 Guardians will sell a heap ton of copies. My question is can Halo 5 garner the attention that the series once had in the Halo 3 days. Honestly, im a bit skeptical. Halo 5 is going to have tons of competition this year with the likes of Black ops 3 and Battlefront 3. I'm quite confident that the campaign will exceed our expectations and review scores will be great ( Shooter of the year possibly ). But, what about the multiplayer? For me it seems that 343 is taking the right step in multiplayer, but they could do more. Halo 1 was the beginning of halo and showed the masses that a console can have an awesome first person shooter. Halo 2 completely improved the combat functions of halo 1 and showed everyone that multiplayer and a thriving community is completely possible on a console. Halo 3 completely improved over the last two and added amazing community features like forge and theater mode. Which led to awesome game-types, including infection, grifball, duckhunt, etc... Even Halo ODST added firefight mode, which was actually relatively popular Halo Reach introduced armor abilities, ( which many don't like)The bottom line is, what will Halo 5 bring to the table? Really, to me it seems like Warzone fills that hole. But really, all I see is something that will not be played a couple months from release, as it looks to appeal to the casual audience ( Its not out yet, we will see). Can Halo 5 truly Excel like Halo 1,2 and 3 did ? Or will we see thread posts a couple months after Halo 5's release, discussing the low population of the game ? I also left a video with further discussion here. Check it out and overall, let me know what you guys think.
  3. Which of the four Halo titles in the Master Chief Collection do you think will attract the most people? I am personally most excited for H2, and I will almost exclusively be on it. I have serious feelings of nostalgia for Halo 2 and all I want is to play ranked matches and do some custom glitching again. I have so many fond memories of the old days. I hope that the Halo 2 Anniversary Multiplayer stays nice and populated for a good long while. Can't wait.

    Team DLC numbers

One of the largest topics that seems to be spamming up these fora is people complaining about not being able to play the DLC maps. And yet, we now have a DLC playlist for just 2 weeks and it has a population lower than all but throwdown. If people want a DLC playlist so badly, why aren't the numbers showing it?
  5. So, seeing how this subject is important and I've had numerous replies (some helpful many not). I'm going to edit my original post to be a little more serious. I'm not going to change any of my opinions. I believe the following: Yeah so War Games population went under 200k and I'm pretty sure it's getting lower. The most people I've seen online were like under 600k. I know black ops 2 came out but that is hardly an excuse. That just means half of the people who are playing halo were just waiting for a different game. So I really do think 343 did a great job but I guess it wasn't good enough and if they start bringing in half-ass forge world maps into multiplayer they can cut their population in half again. Reach got boring because of three things IMO: 1. 3 voting options constantly consisting of crappy forge world maps. 2. Little gametype variety (barely got to play king of the hill, head hunter, no juggernaut etc. Always slayer.) 3. Armor coc- I mean lock In Halo 4 these things seemed to go wrong: - Playlist variety. 343 decided to throw in playlists over time. I don't really agree with this, but whatever. The issue is, is that they picked the wrong playlists IMO. Oddball a playlist and not swat (I know, it's in. I've already played it a few days ago)? What? I'm not the biggest fan of swat but Halo Reach should have been proof enough for that decision. I know they wanted to show off oddball because they changed it but I would have preferred a rumble pit style or objective playlist. 343 also could have taken stuff like invasion/head hunter and made them better. They took out a lot of stuff. I'm sure they have their reasons but the mutliplayer experience that came with launch isn't that impressive and that is important. - Implemented and brought back annoying stuff like hardlight shield and active camo. Active camo? Why? Why not make this an ordinance drop? Overshield is! Oh wait, isn't so people can use it in corners and assassinate people repeatedly in order to master the accommodation? Well that was a stupid decision. - Made a great game but the above things could easily ruin it. No to mention I've lagged in Halo 4 like no other game. Idk why. - Forced people into playing ranked matches by matching everyone up with people their skill level in every playlist. This is the big one. Halo 3 was successful for a reason. I know you've heard this many times before but it's so important. Having a social and ranked playlist that is. I am now SR-42 in Halo 4 and I am repeatedly getting my ass whooped in whatever gametype I choose (except big team sometimes). The odd time I'll dominate. What about middle games? Even competition? Almost never. I don't want to try-hard against try-hards every match. I don't want to dance and crouch and jump with my DMR in order to win every gunfight. My balls nearly strangle themselves through the stress of the competitiveness of Halo 4. People are saying there is no competitive play. Are you crazy? It's the exact opposite. You are matched with players around your skill level for every playlist. I was doing fine until I got near 50. Now I'm fighting coordinated teams who play predator and assassinate me with active camo EVERY GAME. If anything is responsible for the pop decrease it's THE FAILURE TO SEPARATE DIFFERENT KINDS OF PLAYERS. I don't want every game to be stressful where I have to try my very best to keep up. Before you call me a bad player look up my service record please. It's not amazing but I'm no noob. 343, dayum. Dat population gonna drop, u bettah separate dem competitive mother truckers from dem social moda truckas or else! Reach baby! Reach all over again!
  6. Ok picked up old favorite halo wars yesterday and got the snot beaten out of me 4 or so times by a guy that pulled 4 scarabs out of somewhere (yes they where from the same colour). Is it possible to increase your population or something by building more barracks or something else?
