  2. Heyy, welcome back to the 343i Community Forum Site Poll! Site Poll 59 - 'E3 2017 Discussion' - is here if you'd like to read the responses, or post a late reply. This poll we're moaning and groaning (at least me anyway) about yet another "Classic" version of an old Nintendo console... The SNES Classic, a "remake" of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System console, is scheduled to release this year on September 29th. What are your thoughts on the SNES Classic? Also, how does the SNES Classic compare to the NES Classic from last year? The next Site Poll will be posted whenever, maybe. Feel free to suggest the topic for the NEXT Site Poll in your response! SD, out!
  3. Heyy, welcome back to the Weekly Site Poll! Poll 49 - '2017 Hype & Predictions' - is here if you'd like to read the responses, or post a late reply. Btw, title format change because why not? Nintendo just held a press conference for their new console, the Nintendo Switch, where they went in-depth about the consoles game lineup, functions, and place in the market with an official release date worldwide being March 3rd, 2017. What are your thoughts about the Switch now given the information gleaned from the conference? The next Weekly Site Poll will be posted whenever, maybe. Feel free to suggest the topic for the NEXT Weekly Site Poll in your response! SD, out!.

  5. Hello everyone, it's me, Maestro (AKA sans), one of your friendly neighbourhood forge guys. Recently I've been having some trouble getting Halo 5's forge to work on my Xbox, although I did get it to work a couple days ago. So keep your fingers crossed that it works in the future! But this thread isn't the place for me to talk about my Halo 5 forge plans. As you may or may not be aware, Nintendo came out with its own forge, if you will, for good ol' Super Mario Bros. on the Wii U back in September 2015. I got a copy of Super Mario Maker for Christmas, and have been building levels with it while Halo 5 was having a temper tantrum and not working on my Xbox. So I wanted to start a thread for everyone who has Mario Maker to share their level codes! Some of my codes don't work for some reason when you type them in, but the rest do. Don't ask me why... I copied them exactly as they appeared on my screen once I uploaded them. When you do find one that works, just click on my bearded face to find my other submissions. Anyways, without further adieu, here's what I've cooked up in Super Mario Maker: Glorious Spiked Helmet: A9BE-0000-0140-5A20 This one isn't anything special... it's the first level I uploaded. You gotta steal clouds to survive. Pipe Land-esque Special: 572B-0000-0148-E0BD This one's inspired by World 7 from Super Mario 3... to an extent. It's pretty tricky, so watch yourself! Rosalina and the Alien Garden (this is one of my favourites): 862F-0000-0151-6780 I really like this level, if I do say so myself as its creator. It has a good mix of aesthetic and challenge... and Rosalina. Happy (Late) New Year: A6EE-0000-0169-A9A1 This level is one of my toughest levels to date. Hope you like playing with Bobombs! A Classic-Inspired Castle: 12B5-0000-017C-7614 I was inspired by the final level of SMB1 while I was building this one. It's nowhere near as cryptic as the actual thing, but still pretty tricky. A Dive Into the Aquatic Cavern (another favourite of mine): 5B84-0000-0183-4E99 Like Rosalina and the Alien Garden, this one has a nice balance between aesthetic and challenge. The Cheep Cheeps are visible above water, while various platforms tower high above to give the impression that you're at a lake in the middle of an ancient forest. Skyscrapin' D360-0000-01C4-8F3E This is another level where I tried to balance aesthetics and challenge, although I put more effort into aesthetics. If you couldn't tell by the name, it takes place on top of skyscrapers! I didn't want to make a level that was obscenely hard, so that's where this one came from. I tweaked a couple things in v1.1. I made the section right after the checkpoint a bit more obvious in terms of what you need to do and also added a few sound effects to indicate that you should look around the area a bit. If you feel like tackling any of these levels, don't let the numbers discourage you. And if you have any you want me to take on, I welcome the challenge.
  6. He first began with the company by working with HAL (game development studio who are closely affiliated with Nintendo) during 1983 after graduating with a degree in Computer Science. He would later become president of HAL in 1993. He was responsible for creating games the likes of Kirby and EarthBound during his time with HAL. Later on he took a position at Nintendo in 2000 in corporate, and just 2 years later in 2002 became Nintendo's fourth president. He also helped work on popular franchises such as Mario, Zelda, and Animal Crossing. This news is a tremendous loss to Nintendo fans. A highly respect CEO who even cut his pay in 2014 after the Wii U's poor sales. He was a perfect fit for Nintendo. "On my business card, I am a corporate president. In my mind, I am a game developer. But in my heart I am a gamer." - Satoru Iwata GDC 2005 Even if you do not like Nintendo take a moment to appreciate that Iwata was not just a CEO. He loved games just as much as any of us and was never afraid to laugh or crack cheesy Nintendo jokes. He respected the industry a move few CEO's don't make. Rest in peace Iwata. Source: Nintendo.co
  7. Hello everyone, I am Bits n' Pieces, also known as The Dumb Weasel! And I would like to officially announce my new forge project... This project is a one man project, and I plan on bringing some well known Game Cube maps into the Halo world. I also made a small video about it! (It's like... Not very good, I've not taken a film class yet. But hey, I tried.) Along with a quick build of.. Well... You'll see it when you watch it. The map is out as a demo for now, and I'm currently working on what game types they will be compatible with. Thanks for reading. -TDW UPDATE: Small video with a list of games I plan on using maps from. (1 inspired by Bnus' Legend of Zelda idea. )
  8. Hello everyone, Edward Kenway here, I know my name says Omega right now but I'll be changing back eventually, so fear not those who knew me as EK, you won't have to adjust for that long! Anyways, PAX gave off some super gaming news. In news I'm not covering here, Halo 2 Anniversary has some new sound design, some new Dead Island 2 stuff was released, and Saints Row IV is getting a remake and some DLC. Let's get down to the news! View attachment: WNW 83014.JPG State of Decay Getting Xbox One Port State of Decay was massively well received as a breath of fresh air for the dying Zombie theme at the time of it's launch on Xbox Live and PC, being (at the time) an innovative experience as players lived in an ever changing, unscripted world with the undead running rampant, however today we see games like DayZ, H1Z1, and others accomplish the same in larger numbers. Xbox.com has the story as it was announced that State of Decay: Year One Survival Edition will be coming to Xbox One in 2015. It will include your typical remastered contents, the game with up-scaled graphics (1080p) and frames-per-second, all the DLC, and entirely new content yet unannounced. It will launch on an unconfirmed date in 2015, I would guess sometime in Early Spring though. Undead Labs, the developers of the game and it's port, will be revealing more info on the game and it's unannounced new features later on. View attachment: state-of-decay-logo.jpg Are you going to purchase State of Decay: Year One Survival Edition (couldn't have picked a longer title) on Xbox One, or does this seem like another typical industry cash grab on a game that had only been recently released? Debate the facts below! Nintendo Announces New 3DS Design/"Next Gen" 3DS Selling tremendously well during it's two year run so far, the 3DS was a sleeper hit among many Nintendo business failures, like the Wii U. Polygon.com reports that Nintendo has announced two new and improved variants of the system, the regular new version and the XL version. The new system is labeled as, "The New 3DS" (Not kidding) will feature a better overall layout, improved CPU to allow games to run better on it, and an analog nub to act as a second thumbstick and new shoulder buttons. Other features include Amiibo integration, and sliding covers so that you can customize your 3DS with new skins. However, sad news for people who own the old 3DS, as they may be forced to upgrade in the future, with exclusive games being developed for the new hardward, with Xenoblade Chronicles being the first. The model will launch exclusively to Japan on October 11th, making it's way to the Western Market next year as a possibility. View attachment: new_nintendo_3ds_reg.0.png Are you displeased that you must upgrade your 3DS so soon after it's launch to play some future games, or is it okay and a natural part of owning a console? Discuss the ideas! Halo: The Master Chief Collection Forge Revealed, Halo 3 Gameplay, etc. 343 Industries had a lot to reveal today at PAX at their conference, with Forge details being the highlight and a surprise viewing of Halo 3 in 1080p/60fps. Ducain23 (one of our partners) recorded the whole event, which can be seen at YouTube.com, showing off some new forge features and images on Ascension. Bug fixes like inconsistent magnetization and menu issues have been addressed and dealt with, and some old features like zoom and the much requested precision control have been brought back. We have a host of new features though, and I'll list and explain several of them here. You can now snap and align objects to the ground, allowing you to easily place something on terrain without issue. Next, the palette has been improved with new natural objects and structures, and you can now pick specific palettes for objects on maps. You can also create objects in the sky in Skyboxes, like in Sandbox in Halo 3 on the grid. You can script objects, and while we're not totally sure what this could mean, we can assume players can assign objects certain activation cues or interactions, like making objects into doors. Finally there is no more budget, and instead we have an object counter currently capped at 650, at least on Ascension. Halo 3 gameplay was also shown, as said before, and looked to have very little difference to it's last gen counterpart, you can view the whole thing in the link. View attachment: halo-master-chief-collection.jpg Are you excited for Forge or Halo 3 in the Master Chief Collection now that we have seen some of these? Let me know below! Thank you all very much for reading, my apologies that it's later in the day, I was busy. Hope everyone has a great night, and I'll see you next time. GIMME A WEEKLY. GIMME A NEWS. GIMME A WRAP-UP. 10. Nintendo has been having troubles for some time. Their handhelds may be doing great, but the Wii U not quite as well. Do you think Nintendo can turn things around or on they on their way out?
  11. Okay I love Nintendo, the games, the consoles, but the Nintendo 2ds really disappointed me. Yes, I know it's a more kid-friendly console. But still, I mean the thing doesn't even look good. I did not buy it, but I got the chance to play one at my cousins house. It's big, blocky, and doesn't even fold down like a normal DS or 3ds would. What do you guys think about this new 2ds?
  12. Nintendo's classic and original Handheld has turned 25 years old today. This may be strange for those who remember it's first release... (You are not that old) but for many fans of this classic hand held device, it brings a great dose of nostalgia. "Happy birthday, Game Boy! Nintendo’s famous portable is 25 years old today. The handheld would see numerous successors, peripherals, and notable games during its 15 years of dominance before the Nintendo DS would take over as the new brand for the Japanese gaming giant’s portable endeavors." Said Mike Minotti of VentureBeat.com. You can clearly see how much Nintendo's handheld line has grown, ranging from the Game Boy, to Nintendo DS, and eventually the Nintendo 3DS and beyond. However, could Nintendo be missing out on a great opportunity? With the recent shortcomings from Nintendo's Wii U sales figures, Nintendo could use a bit of a boost in the Gaming industry. So, would a re-launch of a slightly updated version of the Game Boy give Nintendo that jump? It could draw in fans of the now 25 year old system into buying it, as well as bringing in a new generation of Game Boy fans. With the Game Boy, there could also be re-releases of the classic and popular games that everyone came to know and love. So, could a re-release benefit Nintendo at all? What would you think if they chose to take this path? Would you be interested in a re-release of Game Boy (updated, of course)? 13. Nintendo is now ever closer to falling off that slippery slope they have landed on. Nintendo's recent Next-Gen console, the Wii U, was met with positive feedback at launch, but since it has dwindled due to a lack of exclusives and games. The company originally targeted the sales of the Wii U at 9 Million consoles, they have demolished this number down to a mere 2.8 Million by the end of march, a major loss on their part. The successful 3DS also took a hit, going down from 18 Million to 13 Million. Nintendo forcasted profits of 55 Billion yen originally, but they are now in a deep hole expecting a net loss of 25 Billion yen. It is sales in the US and European markets causing this, as they were significantly lower then Nintendo expected. "In particular, sales in the US and European markets in which we entered the year-end sales season with a hardware markdown were significantly lower than our original forecasts, with both hardware and software sales experiencing a huge gap from their targets," As said, the 3DS surprisingly did not perform to the best of it's abilities either, as it was seemingly met with critical success at first. Currently, we are not aware of the 3DS' earnings, but it likely fared better then Nintendo's Wii U. "Using the US market as an example, Nintendo 3DS became the top-selling platform in the last calendar year... however, the estimated annual sales of the Nintendo 3DS hardware remain significantly lower than our initial forecast at the beginning of the fiscal year." 15. Nintendo Direct Packed in A Lot Of Brand New Games For The Year Of 2014 If you are a true fan of the Nintendo Franchise then you already know that 2014 is going to be filled with goodies. Nintendo Direct is an Online Presentation done by Nintendo describing what the upcoming year is going to look like for them. This year they had quite the full sack with lot of toys for all the good little girls and boys. Most of the conference held on Today, December 18th, 2013, had to do with the 3DS. They started the presentation off strong with a glimpse at "Hyrule Warriors", which, however, is not what you think. This is going to be an extention of the "Dynasty Warriors" game franchise not apart of the "Legend Of Zelda" franchise. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EEYeCFFbHOU There was then talk of the recently announced Kirby: Triple Deluxe and some new game modes that it will include. There will be a four playerfighter mode and a rhythm-based plat former starring King Dedede. Also, Nintendo announced the Yoshi's New Island. This game will be on the 3DS platform. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vtJyud6dFNM That one will bring some classic feelings back to the Nintendo platform. Speaking of Classic feeling Nintendo is also planning to make a "reboot" of the old Donkey Kong Country games. The newest installment will be called Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DueE8vJXpo8 It will infuse that good old fashioned Donkey Kong feeling with all new ways to experience the fun. You will get the opportunity to play as multiple characters across your tropical journey's. Then lastly in the big announcements, they announced another track and some awesome footage of Mario Kart 8. This time we get some awesome footage from an airport themed map. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IrKY8cJfXEw And with that we come to a close. Source IGN

  18. I don't have any of the Nintendo systems, but I've noticed that a lot of Sonic the Hedgehog games that are on Nintendo systems exclusively (i.e. Sonic Lost World and also Sonic appearing in the next Smash Bros.) So I am wondering if Sonic team and Sonic himself will move to the Nintendo fold at some point or if Nintendo will acquire SEGA altogether. Any thoughts?

    My first photoshop... D:

From the album: Halo 4 Screenshots

This is my first photoshop.... I kinda tried to make the File Select screen from Super Mario Sunshine in Halo 4, I also added my own affects by adding two small replicas of The Delfino Airstrip and Delfino Plaza in the background. It should be pretty easy to see... Please give some feedback, If you like it or not.
