  1. "let’s see what kind of galaxy we woke up too" Halo Wars 2 Big Team Battle Map by OracleGamerx (previously ARC GuiltySpark) Map Link Current Update Gamemodes -Heavy Slayer Link One of the most loved Halo 4 multiplayer modes, Heavies has returned in Halo 5 Guardians. Battle an 8 player team on a massive battlefield to control heavy REQ weapons and vehicles. -Heavy Strongholds Link This is what Brute Force was made for. Matches played similarly to Halo Wars 2 Blitz where players fight to control 3 hills with heavy REQ weapons and vehicle. -Big Team CTF Link Heavy team work required. Specially designed CTF gamemode with settings like the new movement mechanics in the HCS playlist as well as a more lighter weapon and vehicle set. Detailed Map Write-up at bottom of page (its really long!) Update Info This is just a scratch of what the map will offer! Brute Force will be under heavy support and maintenance after release. Map History When a friend of mine came to me and said “I have a cool idea for a halo wars game”, I was instantly down for it. This was originally going to be a Halo Wars 2 minigame (may be made in the later updates known as Blitz). I started making a large terrain set that could be big enough to simulate a Halo Wars match (which is very large). As we got into working out the game aspects, we soon realized that a game like this probably wouldn’t work well and would be a little too ambitious, so we decided to scrap the idea. By then I had already built a large amount of the map and didn’t want to see it wasted. I said I would try to make something else out of it on my own, and that I did. I didn’t want this to be just another Big Team map so I thought of a few gamemodes to make specifically for this map. Halo 4 was my first Halo game I played, so I decided to bring back Heavies and Extraction. I made the current map smaller, which gave me more budget room to add aesthetics and features. The map was very budget tight, but when it was done, it looked fantastic. I set up the other gamemodes, as well as made 2 weapon and vehicle sets (one for flag and ball gametypes, one for heavy gametypes), but making Extraction was a challenge. I first only made 3 extract sites and had 2 active at a time. I knew I would have tons of bugs and problems, so I started playtesting. I hosted 1 or 2 playtesting sessions a week. I had tons of scripting bugs to fix, as well as some map issues like not enough cover, spawn killing, map layout, and other things like that. I found Extraction to get rather stale, so I decided to make it more like the original, having 5 sites rather than 3 and making them change from 2 to 1 being active at a time. After I fixed that, I released the map, which is what your reading now. Gameplay Design Each team has a base they first spawn in which looks like the base in blitz (in heavies, the base has a shield that keeps the other team from passing through). In each of these home bases is a warthog, rockethog, gungoose, and mantis (in heavies, the gungoose is replaced with a scorpion and a wasp). The map is made around 3 hills (which are supposed to represent the 3 control points in blitz games). Each team has a hill close to the spawn base, and one hill to the side of the map in the middle. This center hill is important for teams to control, as it has a large height advantage to overlook the rest of the map. Around these hills are remnants of a crashed UNSC Heavy Frigate, which creates new smaller areas for players to engage in. There are many weapons throughout the map, and power weapons consist of a railgun, binary rifle, and spnkr rocket launcher. In heavies, there are Spartan lasers, incineration cannons, hunter arms, and spnkr Ems. For gameplay, I wanted the player to feel like how a Spartan II should in Halo Wars and I wanted the map to be a big battlefield that makes the player feel small, but still significant. When I first made the map, It was very big, even a little too big for what I later intended. So I shrunk the map, added more cover, and more wreckage for the player to interact with. Players can’t run around from corner to corner of the map quickly which makes it more important for you to strategies where you want to go and how you want to engage before you run into battle. This works very well when working as a team, deciding together when to make pushes for power positions, defending tactics, and flanking routes, making it feel similar to a Halo Wars match. The vehicles on the map are very important to control as well, as some of them can turn the tide of battle. The vehicles are balanced with a rock terrain system on the ground. Spartans have no trouble climbing over the rock, small vehicles like warthogs can go through it if they have a skilled driver, and large vehicles like scorpions have a tough time going over and sometimes have to find another path. This keeps vehicles from being too overpowered on the map, which they would be on battlefields like this otherwise Aesthetic Design For the aesthetic design of the map, obviously I wanted a good Halo Wars 2 theme since the game was about to come out when I started the map. I wanted to make a nice natural looking environment full of rock, trees, and I made that to start. Then I “crash landed” the Heavy Frigate ship prefab onto the map and warped the terrain accordingly, which included making sinkholes in the ground where ship parts sit, knocking down trees, and lighting things on fire. Then I included some Banished aesthetics, like a banished locus and banished banshees created by Oni777777 (might have miscounted the sevens). I set the banished banshees on joint barrels to make them fly in a circle around they sky, but this caused a lot of framerate drops and performance issues, so they had to be removed. I also considered leaving them static in the sky, but figured it would break the immersion in the map, which was top of my priority list. I also made halo wars 2 blitz bases and hills on the map, using the hills as stronghold points in the strongholds gamemode. The map is set in the barrens map and uses the barrens rock with the alpine terrain, which I thought looks most like Halo Wars 2. The skybox is a crimson colour which fits with the battlefield style of the map. I also added a light smoky fog to the map which is thick enough to make seeing at a long distance a little harder but thin enough to see through well in most areas. Unique Map Features Random Weapon Generator On each hill is a random weapon generator plate. The plate spawns 2 weapons from a pool of 8 possibilities every 20 seconds. The weapons despawn every 20 seconds if untouched, so there will never be more than 2 weapons to choose from at a time. On hills Alpha and Charley (red and blue sides), the weapon pool consists of 8 DMRs each with a different attachment or scope. On hill Bravo, the pool is made of SMGs. Weapon/Vehicle sets The main gamemode for this map will of course be heavies, but I wanted a second weapon and vehicle set for other gamemodes. I found that the heavies weapon and vehicle set was a little too much for flag and ball gamemodes, as it made players less focused on the objectives and more on killing enemies. This is done by making 2 vehicles phased into each other and set the labels to different gamemodes. Then they are scripted to on match start: set physics normal. These special features along with other map features will be available to download as a prefab after release in a later update

Gamertag: The Grim Dealer Players: 12-16 Supported gametypes: Slayer, Capture the Flag, Strongholds, Assault Bookmark link: http://bit.ly/1SxaC4t Extended map description here: http://www.forgehub.com/maps/echoes.1612/ Echoes is a Big Team Battle map designed to look and feel like it was ripped from Halo: CE. A neutral Banshee spawns near the center control point, and each base is equipped with a Warthog, a Ghost, and a Gungoose. Needless to say, this map has a focus on vehicular combat.
  5. Hello, I am ProPeetsagie, but you can call me "Pro". This is my second attempt at a core Halo 5 forge map. My goal was to make a map with a rather unique setting. I originally planned to have this map set on Mars, but, that idea was flushed down the toilet. Instead, the map is now set in an abandoned UNSC excavation site in the deserts of Africa. I introduce you to: Mirage Supported Gametypes: BTB Slayer, Strongholds, CTF, Multi-Team, and of course Team Snipers (duh) Map: Mirage (Forged on Paralax) Min/Max Players: 10/16 Map Description: It would appear Liang Dortmund has taken interest in this abandoned UNSC excavation site in the African desert. "Mirage" is one of the largest maps I've ever created spanning from Halo Reach, to Halo 5. "Mirage" has dedicated vehicle paths as well as infantry paths. "Mirage" features 3 power weapons, 2 Whiplash Railguns, and a Spartan Laser. Each base has 3 vehicles, 2 Corp Warthogs (one of them for CTF only), and a Ghost, and 2 neutral vehicles, a Corp Rocket Warthog, and a Wraith. (Note: Wraith unavailable in Strongholds) Here are some screenshots of Mirage. [EDIT] As of May 26th, 2017, yes I'm still tweaking this map, there has been yet another overhaul of changes to Mirage. Changes include: Replaced Sniper with Spartan laser, added 2 ghosts (one for each team), replaced all UNSC vehicles with their respective Corp variants (makes sense because of the new lore of the map), added a crashed Phantom on the Blue side of the map, originally replaced the Wasp with a Corp Mantis but then replaced that with a Wraith, added 2 extra Corp Warthogs at each base specifically for CTF, made necessary adjustments to the map's terrain, added 2 Sniper Rifles and 2 Grenade Launchers to each base, and removed the 2 neutral Corp Gungooses, why, because there's already enough vehicles on this map. If you would like to test out this map and/or download it, friend me on Xbox Live. GT: ProPeetsagie
  6. The Meridian Pipeworks is a BTB vehicle and infantry focused map. Power Weapons on Map: x1 of each, Sniper Rifle, Saw, Spartan Laser, Rocket Luancher. 2x Mantis, 4x Warthog. Power ups x1 each, speed boost, damage boost, active camo, over shield (note I might scrap power ups on map). Where's the pics for My map?
  7. How was this playlist not the first one completed for H5? It has had a large following since H2 and during peak H4 days, was by far the largest populated playlist. Idk what 343 has been up to as far as multiplayer design but getting rid of DMR starts for Multiplayer ( which I hope isn't the case for BTB since the large size of map justify it) is not a good start. I hope the BTB playlist, with its massively larger than normal maps is excluded from the extinct DMR starts and all the goodies are firmware updated rather soon. This is an unfinished game. Why did you release without the most wanted ( again by H4 player count) playlist? BIG TEAM 4 LIFE-Bring back a BTB Skirmish ( Objective) playlist too. The playlist population can support two variations.
  8. This is a Big Team Battle Map that I made on Impact and it works mostly for CTF (You can play slayer as well but the spawning might not be great. If you want to change it to a Slayer map, it shouldn't be very difficult.). There are 2 sniper rifles, 1 shotgun, 1 rocket launcher, 1 concussion rifle, 1 rail gun, 2 warthogs and 2 banshees on the map. The defenders (Red Base) sit up atop a hillside while the attackers (Blue Team) sits in the base at the bottom. Between the two bases there are a few separate and connected Gold structures including Gold Base which has a secret tunnel as well as the Marksman's Ridge and Sniper's Alcove. I was able to utilize almost all of the terrain on the main rock, so gameplay should be interesting. This map should be played with 10-16 players and is created by me, Mackenzie Kelly. 2.bmp 1.bmp 3.bmp 4.bmp 5.bmp 6.bmp 7.bmp 8.bmp 9.bmp 10.bmp 11.bmp 12.bmp https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNPYAnTgcU0 If you like this map, please share it and comment. 9. Name of Map: Revenge Canyon note: Revenge Caynon is an updated version of another map of mine called "Death Canyon", i decided to just make the update as a new map because i figured some people might prefer one over the other, the update was that more cover was added in the valley of the canyon towards red and blue base, and certain objects have been moved, or chanched such as the warthog changing from a rocket to default warthog, and the shade turrets were removed from the yellow and green bases. Gamertag: jason mertens My file share: http://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/players/jason%20mertens/halo4/fileshare#!/?section=GameMap&SearchDate=7&SortBy=2&view-select=Tile&startIndex=0 Perferded amount of players: 12, 2x6 or 4x4 ( there is low cover on this map so a high amount of players might get frustrating to someone who is frequently getting shot at( but 16 players is still useable too). requirements: FORGE ISLAND, which is FREE dlc details: This map is based in a canyon, two bases (red and blue) are in the lower valley part of the map, each with a default warthog and a mongoose. the other two bases (yellow and green) are in the upper legde of the map. In between the two clifts is a large land mass which is connected to the to clifts or yellow and green base, by a brige. long ranged guns are encuraged in this map, but close-mid range are also usefull on the clifts, near the yellow and green base, and when no-one is ontop the clifts, then in the valley to. There is a gravity lift on the left of both the red and blue bases, you can use these to get up the clift. There is also a teleporter inside the tunnle that leads through the middle land mass that will bring you ontop of the land mass. you can jump down the clift, but some health will be reduced. you can advoid this by jumping onto the large cargo boxes or rocks near the red and blue base, or you can jet pack down, or use thruster pack while falling, or simply go back through the teleporter on top of the middle land mass.

    Big Team Games

Hi folks, Just wondering - will Big Team Slayer eventually change to include some objective game types, essentially making it like Reach's Big Team Battle? I'm finding it getting a bit tiresome, the lack of variety you have when playing with a full party of friends. Big Team CTF was really fun back in Reach - I'm hoping 343 are at least considering adding this in. Any thoughts on this? I've had a look around but cant seem to find any information in regards to it. Anyone able to point me in the right direction? Thanks guys! iMuz86

  12. GT/Creator: TheBloodbath22 Map Name: "Starlight" Recommended Player Count: 10 - 16 Supported Gametypes: Slayer, CTF, Oddball, KOTH, Extraction. Description: Inspired by BT Infinity Slayer online, I decided to improvise a map dedicated more distinctly towards large-scale combat. Although close-quarters weapons are at a disadvantage here, the map has distinguished sightlines and ordnances that adjust gameplay. This is an asymmetric map with the exception of the centerpiece, which is symmetrical and upholds a Mantis. Nearly an entire asteroid of canvas map Impact is used here. I recommend CTF for the best game night, as the map was primarily designed for that gametype. 13. Back when Halo Reach and even Halo 3 were the top games being played, I remember that you could hop on, looking for a little chaos, and play some Big Team Battle. My favorite part about this is that it wouldn't just be Slayer. There was CTF, Assault, and Slayer. My favorite by far was CTF. That was the best. Especially on Valhalla in Halo 3. I want to relive those moments in this game. So please 343, put in Big Team Battle not Big Team Infinity Slayer. You can probably keep both playlists if you want. The best would probably be just a playlist dedicated to CTF, Assault, and Oddball (that would be hectic). My friends usually reminisce about Reach and all of the fun we had, loading up in a warthog and storming the enemy base for their flag and trying to leave without being killed. It was so fun and would make Halo 4 a thousand times better if it was put in. Thank you for reading this and I hope you take this into consideration if you make any updates to matchmaking. Keep up the great work, Sam
  14. Gt: garraKING159 Map name: Castle wars CTF Gametype: Castle wars CTF Fun map two castle's either side, different from each other with a long battle field between them. vehicles inside each castle and the same amount. will you defend the castle or cross the battle field and capture there's. watch out for snipers and did you spot the epic Shmeef? Recommended player's 10 but supports max for epicness sorry for bad quality image, and didn't get a good shot of the castle's but still.
  15. So I've noticed something. I have never gotten a sword in big team battle even once. It isn't just that though. I have never been killed by one, nor have I ever even seen one on the map or in anyones hands since the game came out. Big team battle players dont get to use the sword. Then I was reminded of something 343 said before the game came out: "The items that spawn in ordnance drops are going to be set specifically so that nothing that doesnt make sence for the map will spawn" So this means that they determined that the sword being a close quarters weapon in their eyes would no make sence on big team battle maps and therefore players will be denyed access to it.....even though the gravity hammer which requires you to get even closer is still available......and the shotgun...... I want my sword on Ragnerok please.
  16. Can't play three games without running into a full team of max level cheaters whose kd's are all rediculous. Im so tired of not being able to play the playlist I love without these cheating teams. Constantly and I mean like every one shot from the passenger seat of whatever vehicle just for starters. There's gotta be something done about this.
  17. Is it just me, or would everyone else like to see some new community maps in the BTB playlist. I'm getting tired of seeing Wayont up there for vote every time. As far as im concerned Abridged is the only good community map in this playlist and Trident and Mt lam lam suck terribly. I mean, mt lam lam is the size of powerhouse and it has 3 warthogs. WTF. Why did bungie ever put this map on the playlist!? And yet i rarely see paradiso up for vote. why? The only reason i even play BTB anymore is because of Hemmorhage, which is like the best vehicle map in the game. Opinions?
