  1. Welcome to the practical list of things for Halo 5, by Firellight. By practical, I mean things that keep Halo what it is. For example, someone says they want to play as brutes or prometheans. Good concept, but we all know that's not happening. So this thread will list the things that keep the status quo in Halo. I will also buff up my own ideas. Come on guys, do prometheans even have the free will to be controlled in multiplayer? Can they use other guns, or have custom armour? "We can paint their armour," no you'd be dead before you get the chance to say hello. 1. LOADS Gametype settings: Loadouts on/off Ordnance on/off Assassinations on/off Dual Wields on/off Sprinting on/off **This is called LOADS. By adding LOADS to Halo 5, many people will be happy, by having the ability to turn off certain features they dislike, while at the same time having the ability to make a classic-mode game type. Lots of people like loadouts, and yes it makes a game better. But in Halo, it kind of leads to gameplay limitations and imbalances, as well as removing the need to look for spawns, find a hidden weapon, or the whole need of getting a weapon. There are people out there who say that loadouts should be removed. Meanwhile, those that enjoy loadouts want them to stay. Why can't we be able to turn them on or off? The same story goes for ordnance drops. When a rag doll effect is in the game, people like to see some funny deaths. They keep us entertained. Assassinations keep the killer entertained, but the person dying gets nothing from it. On a side note, when someone is assassinating someone else, the animation is long enough to make the person say "Hey, I can't move for 3 seconds. Someone can totally kill me while I am slaughtering this other dude." Dual wields have been a huge debate over balance. Those that want dual wielding weapons because they make the game so much more fun and the gameplay fits their mood. Again, why can't we just be able to turn them on or off? Sprinting removes the classic feel to Halo, even though people did say that we needed it, and yes, fps games should always have the ability to sprint. But hey, when we are playing infection and someone is chasing you, why should a sprint be the reason why he got to you? We can turn off sprint, and have it on for regular matches. When we play on a forged map with obstacles, sprinting shouldn't get in the way. 2. Hornets and Falcons So the question goes, hornets or falcons? We have come to the conclusion that we would rather have both, but what about using them in campaign? We can for sure have the falcon for multiplayer purposes, but for campaign we would strictly be using hornets. Makes sense, right? 3. Brutes and Brute Weapons There should be one mission to reference the brutes. If 343 can't find a way, at least make an easter egg moment. Brute weapons should be available in multiplayer. Also possibly in that mission mentioned above. For multiplayer-sake, players like using these weapons. They should be available. 4. Skulls and Easter Eggs - Return of the talking grunt. - Return of the skulls. - New skulls. - Silly things. - Mysterious things. - Make them hard to find. - Someone pointed out that the combat dialogue should be entertaining (amusing) again. - The silent jackal. The silent jackal is an idea I came up with. When you are in campaign, let's say you saw a jackal at the edge of your screen. This guy looks different than your average covenant. When you first see him, he disappears. You can feel free to follow him, and the trend will continue until you meet him in a secret place. Enjoy your rewards and a new ally. He can not die normally. He is like the arbiter in Halo 3. He appears in multiple levels. Sometimes he will lead you to equipment, sometimes he may lead you to an attack. Either way, he joins you once you finish catching up to him. A jackal fighting with a human (let alone the 'demon')? Never saw that coming. 5. New Menu Here is what i believe should be the new main menu: - Campaign - Special Ops (might be titled differently) - Multiplayer (might be titled differently) - Halo Waypoint - Xbox LIVE Marketplace - Each will have a theater mode. - Firefight can be found in multiplayer. - Forge can be found in multiplayer. - There will be three menus in Special Ops; Infinity, (insert separatist cruiser name here) and (insert UNSC ship name here). Each represent their respected organizations for spartans, elites and ODSTs. These are the campaigns for your character. 6. Firefight Everyone likes to play firefight, am I right? Better to have it than to not. Just to add my own additions, within the game type settings, players can choose whether the allies should be the Covenant Separatists or the UNSC. This will affect the equipment being used. Enemies can differ between Covenant Remnant, the flood, or the brutes. The brutes just for the sake of it. Also prometheans too, just for the sake of it. There would be themed maps available, such as a flood map for the flood, a Requiem map for Prometheans, and a map made for Covenant civil war purposes. Other maps would be multiplayer maps in the forest and dunes, etc. We can have AI reinforcements, and maybe even vehicles to be unlocked at certain points of survival. Game type settings can disable this feature, though. Reinforcements may come with a pelican or a phantom to aid you, until it (or they) is destroyed. 7. Spartan, Elite and ODST Ops You can find all the details here http://www.343industries.org/forum/topic/27878-more-elite-and-odst-ops-in-halo-5/ Some ideas are that AI characters should be fighting alongside the player(s). The ODST campaign should get the players to experience fighting with another squad, and join them in the cutscenes. There should be marine companions, too. The elites should have two missions dedicated to fighting alongside two hunter brothers. Sure, they can't speak English, but they are your big allies. Also, a part of a mission should have the hunters join in, some time near the climax points. Some noticeable grunts and elites should also be there. There needs to be character development, as well as scenic events during the gameplay. An example used in the thread linked above is when the tower fell in Halo 3: ODST. Those moments make it feel like an actual campaign, rather than petty objectives like we saw in Spartan Ops. So yes, Crimson will have to deal with more adventurous missions this time. Lasky won't always be there for them to give orders. 8. Vehicle Additions In Reach we got to experience the sabre. In Halo 4 we got to experience the pelican and the broadsword. How's about we get to experience a phantom in Elite Ops? One person hops aboard and drives, while the other players can choose to hop on the turrets, or board banshees (AI may fill for missing places). The mission could be centered around picking up others and transport them to other places, and pressing through a wall of defenses. A phantom level would be sweet, wouldn't it? Then for ODST, Spartan Ops, or Campaign (which should have what I am about to say?). A mission dedicated to the sparrowhawk. One pilot, one gunner. Two sparrowhawks ready for 4 players. The pilot can boost a bit faster than a banshee. They can stop boosting to hover around like a hornet. The gunner can shoot with a machine gun and fire missiles. Take down those phantoms and other covenant vehicles while you fly through with the assault. Possibly two other sparrowhawks with marines and/or ODSTs (or spartans, who knows) would be inside to assist you as AI. There will be ground troops and turrets to keep you occupied, as well. If you are in the skies, covenant (or flood) will be on the structures. And who said we can't have another space battle? 9. Vehicle/Weapon Skins By this, I mean changing between loyalist/separatist vehicles. Let's say you place a covenant vehicle in forge. In the item's options you can change its colours to its respected faction. The same goes for covenant weapons, as well. Just for some cool variety and aesthetics, as well as immersion. If there is enough data, maybe 343 could have a Heretic option, and maybe other team colours, too. This is when they have the free time to do so. 10. Infection AND Flood Flood is to Infection as Spartan Ops is to Firefight. They do not match. A simple thing as to put both award-winning game types into Halo 5 would be a gamer's dream. The difference is that flood mode doesn't use weapons and have their own body shapes. Infection is the complete opposite. You can use weapons, and even modify character traits in the game type settings. Before the devs make a mistake by listening to us saying they should modify one to be the other, let's just keep them the way they are and put them both into Halo 5. 11. Armour Abilities are now Equipment How's about this; a player can now have two equipment pieces, and armour abilities now count as equipment. The purpose is that ODSTs don't get armour abilities, and to not let them use abilities at all would be a wrong thing to do. Now all the armour abilities become equipment. You can see them attached to armour when equipped, like a small utility attached to the hip or something. Because armour abilities last forever, some equipment would have the meter, while others would be one-time use, such as the bubble shield. All equipment available in Halo 5: - Active camoflauge - Jet pack - Thruster pack - Hologram - Hardlight shield - Bubble shield - Deployable cover - Regeneration field - Promethean vision - Autosentry - Power drain - Radar jammer - Trip mine - Overshield - Flare - Gravity lift I don't know which should be for loadouts and which shouldn't, but those that do will provide a fresh experience with equipment. This idea is not fully developed, but I hope you all get the point. 12. Elites and ODSTs In multiplayer. Here are the specs of each character type: Spartans - No health bar - Taller bulky bodies - Human loadouts - Speedy sprint - Flashlight Elites - No health bar - More upper-body movement (slouchier stance?) - Covenant (Separatist) loadouts - Speedy sprint - Flashlight ODSTs - No health bar - Normal bodies - Human loadouts (ODST style) - Not-so-speedy sprint - VISR Armour customization is universal: - Helmet - Helmet attachments - Left shoulder - Right shoulder - Body - Elbows - Knee pads - Visor - Wrist? - Utility? - Primary colour - Secondary colour - Tertiary colour? - Emblem - Voice (See Elite/ODST Ops thread linked in #7) I believe it would be beneficial to see your characters in campaign, too. Player 1 is Chief, and you can pretend he has a small squad of his own, be it elite, ODST, or spartan. Maybe before starting a mission, there could be an option for a player to control as the Arbiter or not, if he happens to meet with Chief again. But then again, he could have his own mission for player 1, and when meeting with Chief he could just be an AI. People like to show off their characters, you know. 13. Weapon Options When placing a weapon down in forge, checking its options will allow for changing its properties. The purpose is to change weapons to their ODST modes and their versions from previous games. - Battle rifle options to change it between Halo 4 and 3 versions. - Pistol options to change between regular, ODST, and the Halo 1 version (regular is the defaulted for matchmaking and campaign, so only custom games will have this) - SMG options to change between regular and ODST (silenced) versions. This will alter how you can dual-wield. So you have the skin changes for Covenant weapons, and the property changes for UNSC weapons. Perhaps we can change the vehicle options, as well? Warthog properties and mongoose colours? 14. Forge Worlds Have a few, with different environments. One should be almost completely open, to allow for flat or completely custom maps. One could have the scenery and rocks, water, etc. One more could be a different environment. 15. Game Types from Previous Games I can't name them off the bat, but I am aware that many people would like to see game types like juggernaut to return. 16. Flood Return I am not the one to be talking about it in this thread, because I am sure that others know how to handle the topic. Making them more scary and whatnot, and also the elites a bit more too. 17. New Cyclops Design All of it is explained here http://www.343industries.org/forum/topic/28081-cyclops-to-replace-the-mantis/ Reasons and all. _________________________________ If you have any ideas to add to the list, feel free to do so. I bet you I forgot a few things, anyway. This does sound like a lot of data to be put into Halo 5. But who knows how good the new Xbox will be?
  2. hey all, i was hoping someone may be able to help me or explain wtf is going on lol i have been having sever issues when playing online and its ONLY been while trying to play halo 4 and only in the past 2 weeks. ive never had this issue since i bought the game... spartan ops is the worst; ill be playing a game and if at any point i get killed my spartan reverts to a lvl 1 with no sign of anything ive already earned at my current lvl 81, but it doesn't happen all the time it may do it once through a game and go back to normal or i could get killed close to the start of the game and im screwed. no jet pack no load outs no nothing.. oh and no points ! and the other thing is in matchmaking. same thing except not so often. ive checked everything related to my router, wireless, and the entire network. nothing is wrong and i have no other issues with anything pc or tv just "xbox live" or so halo says... its driving me nuts. halo4 is the only thing ive had the time or want to play so thats my frustration.. any help or any type of advice would be great
  3. I'm just looking for a friendly group of people to play matchmaking, customs and Spartan Ops with. I'm not Uber Hardcore or anything but I like to win and have fun. My other friends pretty much play CoD exclusively and I'm tired of playing solo. I play pretty much every game mode but my favorites are: Slayer(any), Dominion, Flood, Team Swat and CTF. I do go to school during the week and work part time but I play after 4pm on weekdays and anytime on weekends.
  4. During all the Halo's including Halo CE and Halo 2. I kinda got bored cause there weren't enough missions like I got bored of it easily. Of course in Halo 4 there was Spartan Ops aswell. Tell me what you think in the poll. Of course there was Spartan Ops and Firefight for cooperative gameplay and a seperate story then Master Chiefs. And FireFight for plain old fun.
  5. I just so happened to be on Halo Waypoint when I ran into this guide. This first guide gives you help on finding the most amount of enemies, and on which Spartan Ops Episode and which chapter. Thanks to 'A Blues Fan' on Waypoint, he provided us with this chart: https://forums.halowaypoint.com/yaf_postst180802_Spartan-OPs-Enemies-by-Difficulty.aspx Also, thanks to another member on Halo Waypoint, TheSchnitzelMan, he has provided us with another chart that shows which Episodes have the easter eggs, as well as other ways to achieve these commendations: https://forums.halowaypoint.com/yaf_postst170296_Enemy-Counts-CHART-Spartan-Ops--w--Episode-7.aspx Also, he has provided us with the commendations progress per level: https://skydrive.live.com/view.aspx?resid=A39C946A316F7935!221&app=Word&authkey=!AFn_odv9g6NjIaw
  6. New web series discussing different aspects of Halo 4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3HrsQ5hnNM
  7. A tweet by Jayce (Spartan Ops level designer) hinted something about another Spartan Ops easter egg, but not a RvB one. So, here it is, finally found. It looks like a replacement for "Dance Party" from Reach. Enjoy
  8. Hey, I'm new to these forums and I'd like to give my suggestions and ideas toward the future of Spartan Ops. Season 1 was an alright start, but for Season 2 and onward we need a big makeover. New Enemies I want more variety with our foes. Some older enemies can return (Brutes, Drones, etc), and some newer ones can be designed. The Brutes should me more aggressive and beefier than the Elites, but less accurate and strafe/dodge less often. They could replace Elites for some chapters, and while it may not seem like it would work story-wise, there's definitely a way to include them. I believe Drones should appear in panicky times, sort of like in Mission 2 of Halo 3. Maybe one future season of Spartan Ops can have a 2-4 week halloween special with the flood temporarily returning and the Spartan-IVs defeating them. They would be accidentally uncovered in a broken down forerunner facility like the Gas Mine in Halo 2. Then they would spread through several areas encountered earlier in the season and turn them into rotting wastelands. For original enemies, I have one particular idea in mind. It is a gigantic reptilian beast that would fights similar to how the Flood Juggernaut would've in Halo 2 and the big native creatures in Halo Reach did (forgot what they were called). The Reptilian creature would use its incredibly long tail as a third limb and would swing it at players. When a bit far away, it would go on four legs and charge. It would also use scenery objects like covenant crates to throw at the player. Puzzles I think they're should be puzzles (simple or complex) in some missions of Spartan Ops. Think of the Half-life series or even platformers. My ideas include sections where you have to use a crane and simple switch puzzles. Gimmicks Some missions should have gimmicks. How about one where you and your friends get to pilot these miniature scarab-like tanks that have the width and length of a wraith but are twice as tall because of their legs. They could fire two long beam-like plasma mortars or simple plasma fire similar to that of the ghosts. How about one similar to Assault where Crimson has to arm and detonate a bomb at a Covie base. The player holding the bomb can only melee and moves slower as well which means that the other three players would have to defend him/her. How bout a sea vehicle mission where you drive these motorbpats with chainguns and you take down covenant sea vehicles. What about an escort mission with scientists and at least one must survive. Another idea of mine is one like GoW's horde where you must build up defenses and fight waves of enemies. You could call in reinforcements, weapons, vehicles, and air support. They could also have a Pelican or Broadsword mission. I also want to see one where Crimson is going to and they have thruster pack (in the beginning it would work like an unlimited Jet Pack because they'd be in space). They would also have avoid asteroids moving toward them and fight off Elite Rangers. My last idea is a sequence in one chapter where one player would have to take control of a MAC while the rest of the team fights off enemy forces on the ground. Story I want longer CG episodes, around 10-15 minutes. Characters I believe Fireteam Majestic and Sarah Palmer (if she's still alive by then) should appear as allies in gameplay). Maybe it could work as another gimmick where they need to be kept alive. If they're damaged to much, they fall to the ground and need to be revived in a time limit (30 seconds to a minute probably) or else the mission is failed. Since the Arbiter is going to appear in Spartan Ops in the future, he and his Elites should be in gameplay as well. Replayability Let's say you're not playing Spartan Ops on matchmaking because you just want to have a new, fun experience with friends. Players should be allowed to activate skulls, change the amount of lives, and edit traits. In Matchmaking, they're should be a "par", which would be an amount of time in which you're trying to complete the mission under. If the completed mission's time is under the par, you get extra XP. I know all these new features would add time to Season 2 and onward's development, but it would be totally worth it. If any of you guys have more ideas/suggestions, I'd like to hear your creativity.
  9. Halo 4 was some pluses and so negatives. Pros- -campaign was pretty good for the most part -graphics -spartan: ops, its like a new campaign every week -regicide -flood skin is great -forge is easier for a newbie Cons- -griffball - huge disappointment there. I expected many gametypes similar to reach. I expected many variations in maps but all i got were a bunch of squares with several minor changes. Even halo 3 had a map variation better than that -ordinance it promotes camping and gets rid of skill. In other halos you had to know the map if you wanted to win. You needed to know where power weapons would be found unlike now it just shows you where they are. -load outs unfair and unbalanced if u play longer you get better weapons. Everybody should start a match with the same guns. -skins should have a seperate section so i can put any skin on any armor. -mantis is over powered -no race -no multi team -no invasion -no assault -no percision forging -magnets dont always work right and can leave holes in maps -not enough small maps -not balanced starting points in maps *SPOILER ALERT* - master chief shows his eyes in the legendary ending. If any more of master chief is shown without armor it will be my last halo. Unfortunatly there are more negatives than positives. some could get fixed others will not atleast until the next halo. This is just my opinion and you may feel free to voice yours.
  10. OK my nephew dont have much storage space in his xbox, he dont have the room for the new spartan ops, and i was wondering if the new download contains the first data from the first one? can he delete the old one to play the new ones? please help!!!!
  11. I have just spent easily an hour on this 2gb download only to find that I can play just one episode. One hour of downloading for ten minutes of gameplay. That's like deciding to play chess but realising you have accidentally left half the pieces in France and will need to catch a ferry to retrieve them... I understood staggering the releases of the first five that were included but this is just silly. I wouldn't have minded the ludicrously long download (seriously are the servers on fire today or something) if I got to play all of them.
  12. Spartan Ops to me, has a lot of potential. But it falls short in many ways. Not only is it pretty easy to complete even on harder difficulties, but it seems to lack in storytelling too. To me, it just doesn't seem to get anywhere. It's a shame really, because like I said before, it has a lot of potential to be a gateway to other stories across the Halo universe, at any point. The only two things holding it back at the moment is that it's trying to serve as a side story AND a Firefight style gametype at the same time and that it's for the time being restricted to Crimson, Infinity and Requiem. In my opinion, Spartan Ops in the future needs to stop being a replacement for Firefight and become its own thing, and 343i need to bring normal Firefight back. If they want to add some more objectives and the like to Firefight, then they should just create new gametypes for it (sort of like what Reach did with Generator Defense and Spartans vs Elites, as well as enabling customization for FF). When I say Spartan Ops should "become its own thing", I mean it should be a bunch of side stories worthy of the Halo name. The Halo universe is huge. There are lots of stories that 343i could tell in that universe, whether it's the Covenant war, the Insurrectionists and even secret wars that "never happened" thanks to ONI's cover ups. The way I see it, Spartan Ops being all about Crimson and the Infinity travelling back to Requiem is what's holding it back (as well as it trying to serve as a Firefight replacement as well, as I mentioned before). If 343i hadn't placed such a massive restriction on Spartan Ops, they could have done literally anything they wanted with each episode: ODSTs, Spartan-IIs, Spartan-IIIs, marines, hell even Covenant. Each episode could have been completely different to the previous episode and it would have helped to keep things fresh. It's not too late. 343i can still do these things, whether it's for Season 2 or for future Halo games. If they did do something like this, then I'd certainly buy seasons as I'd be getting something new each time. Even if it meant waiting longer to get new episodes, I still think that this is a better alternative than just being stuck to the same planet that we've already explored in the main story. What do you guys think?
  13. The second half of Spartan Ops Season 1 returns on 1/21/2013! Get a first look at episodes 6-10 featuring brand new stories, missions and locations. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V65AcEAXfNA
  14. When I go to Spartan Ops, and try to find a game, it takes forever, on the setting up game screen, it keeps showing searching for players, on all the chapters of episode 2, while unsuccessfully finding a game. There are around 3000 players playing the episode, with majority playing the 1st and the 5th. i have tried them all but no luck. war games works just fine, pretty fast and neat, i have an 8 Mbit connection, my NAT type is open and there seems to be no problem other than the Spartan Ops online matchmaking, Also disk two is installed with no problem, and i also installed disk 1 to the hard drive as well as i do for most games i am currently playing on x360. I have already played episode one by myself without any problem as well, but i want to join others on Live for the 2nd and other upcoming episodes. Does this have to do with different regions? please anyone clarify / assist on this... it's frustrating thanks
  15. Spartan Ops Ep 4 Full Episode on Halo 4: The crew of Infinity encounters cult leader Jul' Mdama, aka The Didact's Hand. This is episode 4 of the new feature in halo 4 spartan ops. Dr. Halsey is studying the ancient artifact brought aboard infinity. Seems that Catherine doesn't consider the spartan 4's suitable compared to spartan 2's. This might just be an opinion of her own because she designed the spartan program, and just is a little bias about the new recruits. Seems like tension between the 4's and Dr. Halsey is increasing.
  16. Does anybody know what generator the achievement What Power Outage? is talking about for Chapter 4 Episode 5? I want that one but I dont see the generator what I am in the episode.
  17. So me and my friends where playing spartan ops last night liike we always do. it was kinda laggy like always (sorry 343 but your spartan ops serves kinda suck). but it got espically bad when we hit Ep 3 Ch 2. It was totally fine when we first started. But then weird stuff started happening.... Frst thing that happened is we all got trashed by the Elites and it spawned us in the very back of the complex map by the bushes. Well as we were getting wrecked by the frst wave and getting are death rate up one Ryan sawned outside the map, dont ask home I dont know. But as me and Kilo died we spawed wth ryan... Outside and under the map. Well we were presistent to get back on the map instead of quiting and evantually did after about 20 mins of fiighting threw the glitch. We felt proud, very proud indead. But then the all round weirdest thing happened after we finished the current wave of grunts and Elites. The next wave was mini! at first we thought they gltched to nothing and that they were just floating guns, but when we zoomed in on the guns we saw mini Grunts and Elites that werent even big enough to hit with bullets! We were determined to beat this lvl at all cost we had double Xp going so we didnt want to waste it! but long story short after mass amount of frags and stickys we finally beat the spartan op! so my question to everyone that reads this, has this ever happened to you? Mini Covies or glitching of the map of the spartan op?
  18. Has anyone else experienced this glitch. So I was playing spartan ops on the challenge and I experienced a glitch where I went to the evac zone yet I went too early so that it still said in the objectives menu that I still had to go to there, so I did that and then went on to kill all of the enemys but when they were all dead nothing would happen so I was stuck on the mission and I could run around the map but nothing would happen, so I just had to leave. I also have experienced this glitch many other times but haven't been able to put my finger on it until now. Has anyone else experienced this glitch? if so tell me. I hope 343 fixes this.
  19. Spartan Ops has the potential to be one of the greatest things, going forward, about the new Halo era. But only if you can play it. I have about a 10% chance of successfully starting a Spartan Ops chapter and I'm playing **solo**. This is, frankly, inexcusable. I understand there have been server issues since November. First of all, you should never have made any solo experience dependent upon your server performance. Secondly, it's January, now. How much longer do we have to wait for you to resolve this issue? I hear episodes 6-10 are coming soon. Fantastic. Will I be able to play them or will I just keep getting kicked back to the main menu for hours at a time as 1-5 have done? Eventually, I imagine you will want to charge for installments of Spartan Ops. You have a loyal fan base that absolutely would shell out more money to continue an interesting story that dovetails into the main storyline of the Chief but we demand a product that functions properly. I hope you and Microsoft take that to heart as you move forward with the franchise.
  20. Been doing Spartan ops for the past 4 weeks to lvl up my rank and on some games ill run into small Covenant runing around. At first i thought it was guns runing around untill i zoom in. really funny to see. check it out & hope you all like my video. I have Available 2XP Matches: 42 games of DewXP left & i don't need any more so if you Subscribe and post some comments ill give you 3 games of XP for helping me out. Just need your Facebook E-mail that's link to the DewXP.com/Facebook on DewXP.com & the user name you use to Subscribe https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grWR7hEnLQI
  21. Halo 5 firefight Ideas. You get dropped off in a pelican to the starting area. You fight off waves of enemys. After a set, a pelican picks you up but gets shot down. You must make your way by warthog to another pelican. When you find it, covies attack. Arena battle two takes place. You take the turret on the pelican as the pelican takes off. You fight of waves of banshees. Your pelican needs to refuel so it lands . (You spend your points in the shop on the pelican to buy weapons, ammo, equipment etc.) Equipment should return also. Promethians attack. This starts arena- battle three. Then your pelican takes off and lands on the infinity. Then you unlock map two. On different maps, the store is in different locations. I hope you like my idea for a new gamemode in halo 5 It has little journeys from place to place and has a store and arena battles. It's like a mixture between spartan ops so everyone gets what they want Also it is like a story and to unlock the next map you must unlock the one before it.
  22. Alright, I didn't see that anywhere so I decided to post it. If you have taken a look at the latest Halo Bulletin on Waypoint, you should know that some cool updates will be released on 1/21 to 2/4. *From Halo Waypoint* Week of 1/21 Spartan Ops Episode 6: Five new missions and an accompanying new CG cinematic. "Forge Test" playlist (name not final): A rotational hopper featuring small Forge maps such as Relay. Help us test these maps by providing feedback and reporting bugs that will assist us in getting them ready for Matchmaking! Specializations: Pioneer and Pathfinder Specializations unlocked for all players. Week of 1/28 Spartan Ops Episode 7: Five new missions and an accompanying new CG cinematic. Grifball playlist: A rotational hopper featuring everybody’s favorite virtual sport. Catch the disease! Specializations: Engineer and Stalker Specializations unlocked for all players. Week of 2/4 Spartan Ops Episode 8: Five new missions and an accompanying new CG cinematic. Team Doubles playlist: A rotational hopper for those of you that like action of the 2 vs 2 variety. Specializations: Rogue and Tracker Specializations unlocked for all players. As you can see, Specializations will eventually appear in the game for the rest of the players. Also, some all-time favorites will return, such as Grifball and Team Doubles. Plus, small Forge maps will be available in War games matchmaking. And, of course, don't forget about the rest of Spartan Ops season! Again I apologize if it has been posted already.
  23. My personal opinion on all of these new features for Halo 4. I'm actually excited for Halo 4, and do NOT think it will be like COD. I guess I'm part of the 1% who think that. lolololo Spartan Points I actually like this idea a lot. It sounds very similar to Halo: Reach's Credit system, and I really enjoyed being able to see myself gain money for getting kills and winning matches. The only thing Reach lacked, was a Ranking System. But it has already been stated that Halo 4 will indeed have a Ranking System, so I think this will work pretty well. Spartan Ops This Idea has me pumped! Its basically story-mode objective missions, that are updated every week. They are free, and will keep on coming for months after the game release. It seems like it will keep me, along with the rest of the Halo Community, playing Halo 4 for a while. Custom Loudouts Alright, so I am personally excited to see what exactly this is. The Custom Loudouts will consist of 4 things; Your Primary and Secondary gun, your grenade type, your armor ability, and your modifications. Also, the Jet Pack, Invisibility, and Hologram are coming back. Now ALOT of people are automatically saying that the game is ruined because of this, but I truly think their Idiots. We haven't even seen how these new features will play out, and their already judging the game itself? Like Come on, its not going to be like COD, 343i is smarter than that. You will most likely only be able to choose regular weapons like the AR, BR, and DMR as your starting guns. And the modifications will probably be things like "2% Jump Increase". So just calm down and wait to actually see the game in action. Why Reds fight Blues 343i said that multiplayer never had a purpose behind it "story-wise". Which makes perfect sense, because it doesn't. All you do in thee past games, is just kill Spartans for no reason. So to fix that, they have made it so you are a Spartan IV, and are playing virtually on the UNSC Infinity, for combat-testing purposes. The multiplayer actually being the virtual playtest.. With this new feature, I think the game will actually feel a lot cooler, and make more sense in itself. Sprint Sprint is now a default ability, and will always be there for your use. I've always wanted this, and felt like Halo: Reach kinda lacked playability, when they made it into an armor ability. Forerunner Vision So alot of people are jumping to conclusion about this "Forerunner Vision" thing, calling it COD-Like. Now Frank O' Connor has stated that this is more of a UAV type thing, and that you will not be able to see enemies across the map with it. Me personally, I think it is going to be like the night-vision option from Halo 3: ODST.
  24. According to the GI Article 'Spartan Ops' is structured like a TV Season, each week players gain access to a new CG Movie sequence that slowly unfolds the story, along with 5 objective based cooperative (2-4 Players) missions to play through. These missions will be new content offering unseen locations, events and challenges for that week. The missions will be replaced by the new ones every week, but the video will be archived to view any time. This isn't paid DLC, its already on your Copy of Halo 4, its designed to stretch out across several months. My Opinion: Well I didn't care much for Firefight but loved Invasion, I believe this is going to be amazing playing with friends/family. What I believe which is what will keep this going is people wondering what is going to happen next? I'm hoping later on they get a small team to be dedicated to 'Spartan Ops' to keep the CG movie sequence going throughout the games time.
  25. Hey everybody, I'm new to this website however I've been a big halo fan since combat evolved and was a pretty active member on bungie.net. However now that 343 is in control, I've come to this site with some questions, and will hopefully receive some answers in return. For the first week of halo 4 since it's release date, everything went extremely smooth for me. Spartan ops, multiplayer, and co-op campaign were super smooth and amazing. Now it seems that I've hit a bump in a road. For atleast the past five days, I've experienced "playable" multiplayer, however I have to be patient with teleporting enemies/vehicles, slow framerates at times, and freezing br/dmr duels that result in my shields suddenly disappearing and resulting in my death. When it comes to spartan ops, a good day online involves another "playable" game, but is riddled with horrible lag and frame rate issues. Pulling my trigger and having shots fired one to two seconds later has become a norm for me on online spartan ops. I do have a wireless connection, however I have open nat, and a great strong signal. I also went to the extent of forwarding ports for xbox live. I have never had these issues before (besides in Halo Reach Firefight) with any other halo game online. In conclusion, I'm really just curious if anyone else is experiencing these problems recently, if these issues are going to be fixed, or if 343i has addressed any these issues at all.
