  1. Commendations are returing as a reward system for achieving certain feats. Each commendation has 5 tiers and every achieved tier earns you an EXP bonus. Completing each 3rd tier of a commendation will reward you with a bonus REQ pack containing boosts and other single use REQs. Completeing the 5th tier of a commendation will get you a REQ pack containing a specific emblem to show off your achievement. Here's the commendation list of day 1: Medals are also returning as expected and have suffered a few losses, but gained alot. Bravo interviewed multiplayer designer Max Grossman on the new medal design. Here's a little snippet of the interview: "When we look at creating a new Medal, we have to make sure it satisfies a few rules. A Medal needs to be an explicit action that a player can perform; rather than something that can “just happen.” Players should have a clear idea of what it is that they did to earn the Medal. For example, we removed the Reload This Medal because it didn’t satisfy this criterion. Second, a Medal needs to promote good behavior and should never reinforce a negative action. You won’t see the Comeback Kill Medal in Halo 5 because it reminded players that they had died 3 times in a row without getting a kill. When a player is playing poorly, they already know; they don’t need the reminder. Lastly, a Medal has to have akiller name. “Bulltrue.” “Overkill.” “Reversal.” I always like to imagine Jeff Steitzer’s (the infamous multiplayer Announcer) voice in my head whenever trying to come up with Medal names. For as many new Medals that appear in Halo 5, there are just as many that we tinkered with during development that didn’t make the cut." ~Max Grossman Read the full interview here. And here's the list of medals: (Sorry for the ugly lay-out, the site wouldn't let me upload it any neater for some reason...) We also got a little sneak peak at some of the medal designs. I've listed them here: What are your thoughts on the commendations and medals? Let us know down below! Thank you for reading!
  2. Just a little thing that no one else has mentioned, was watching the gamescom footage of halo 2 anniversary and I noticed they're using the same if not very similar medals both in design and size from Halo 4. For Halo:5 please bring back the Halo 3 size medals with similar bright colours rather than everything surrounded by grey or including dull colours. In Halo 4 multiplayer I barely took any notice of the medals appearing on my screen just because I didn't notice them because of their size and colour and thus the joy of getting a multikill was somewhat diminished. Also this has yet to be mentioned but will players be able to make their own custom campaign playlists or just choose from a pre-set list such as 'flood' or 'vehicles' etc. If not please try and add that because I think that will be a big opportunity missed because obviously each person likes different levels from each game. One last tiny thing in Halo 4 in armour customisation there was always a significant part of your spartan that included the grey undersuit where you couldn't change the colour. Either show way less of this undersuit, which doesn't look particularly cool anyway, or give players the opportunity to customise the level of it or at least change the colour. Thanks
  3. I haven't made a thread in a long time, so I though I'd start one up. ^.^ My question is: What medals have you been proud of getting in the Halo 4 Multiplayer? This question is different for everybody since a lot of players are at different levels so that's why I think this question is interesting. I'm level 60 (I think) and I got a Slice 'n Dice in Grifball a few weeks back, which is crazy to get. I was playing with a friend and I though it was funny that I managed to get it.
  4. I think another problem with was the lack of urging teams to work together and many of the teamwork orientated playlists were removed, the foremost was Invasion. So i have come up with Some ways to oromote teamwork and coming to teamates aid they heavily reward players who aid teamates and the team as a whole during team games. Some of the content on this thread will require you to have a glance at my loadouts thread, link below http://www.343industries.org/forum/topic/30684-halo-5-multiplayer-my-opinion-on-balancing-and-loadouts/page-1?do=findComment&comment=277212 1: More Assist and Rescuer style medals. And they should reward more XP than they currently do. Examples: Medic assist Medal (15 XP) Heal Teamates Health using Drop Shield Recharge assist Medal (15 XP) Recharge Teammates Shields using Regeneration Field Jammer assist Medal (15 XP) Jam an opponents Radar while a teamate kills him/her Lucky Star Medal (20 XP) Save a teamate by killing their attacker with the Binary Rifle Guardian Angel (20 XP) Save a teamate by killing their attacker with a Sniper Rifle Blue Guardian (20 XP) Save a teamate by killing their attacker with the Beam Rifle Boomstick Bouncer (20 XP) Save a teamate by killing their attacker with the Shotgun Scatter Saviour (20 XP) Save a teamate by killing their attacker with the Scattershot Banhammer (20 XP) Save a teamate by killing their attacker with the Gravity Hammer Slash n' Dash (20 XP) Save a teamate by killing their attacker with the Energy Sword Guided Rockets (20 XP) Save a teamate by killing their attacker with the Rocket Launcher Green Lantern (20 XP) Save a teamate by killing their attacker with the Fuel Rod Cannon Fireman (20 XP) Save a teamate by killing their attacker with the Incineration Cannon Needle and Stiches (20 XP) Save a teamate by killing their attacker with the Needler I Will post more weapon ones later. On Waypoint, And in game, It should display Not just kills and Assists but also rescues, heals, recharges and distractions, and going into details reveals what weapons they save teamates with most. This also would help clans establish wether a player is a good or bad team player easier and help them determine these players playstyle. Holding or Defending objectives should also reward players more for their effort, CTF has the right Idea with 100 XP a Flag Capture. Invasion should return as as Gametypes, as should all other previously removed gametypes. Any other suggestions should be posted with the utmost sinceriaty. Finally if you go to my loadout page to read up so you understand some of the stuff ive posted you might not undertand overwise (such as the Jammer medal) and dont forget to state your opinion there two!
  5. Medal Name: RAGE! Medal Description: You killed an enemy and he left the game a few seconds after. EXP: 200 Post your new medal idea.
