  1. IGN posted an in-depth look at the Master Chief Collection with a list of "Bonus Facts", one of them a quip on the Halo 2: Anniversary Resolution. Frank O'Connor assured not that long ago that 343i was doing everything it could to get H2A to full 1080p, but was unsure whether or not they could achieve it in time. The new information shows that his worry is now the case. Blur's H2A cinematics look so real, that it's scary (hehe) In the BF (Bonus Fact... there's literally no other way to describe it) 343i Executive Producer Dan Ayoub told IGN: “During development we were really pleased with the way the engine and buffer allowed us to switch instantly between classic and Anniversary engines that are running simultaneously – however that, as you might expect, put a hit on resolution." "The campaign of Halo 2: Anniversary looked fantastic at 720p with the level of detail and clarity it gave us, but like every other aspect of the game and tech, we wanted to push it further. So in the last weeks of development, our teams were able to meet a stretch goal and the campaign of Halo 2: Anniversary now runs 60 fps at a crisp resolution of 1328x1080, which is a significant and meaningful boost in image quality we think fans are really going to appreciate. All of the other games across the entire package of The Master Chief Collection run 60 fps at 1920x1080 native.” So the final resolution for both the H2/H2A Campaign is 1328x1080p, and the rest of MCC runs at 1920x1080p native. Side Note: Dynamic Elements (like the stalactites of Lockdown) can be removed in Forge Before the resolution revelation IGN posted a few facts about The Master Chief Collection that were unknown at this point. Here's the near-full-letter quote of the list: There is no confirmation yet for Pre-Loading the MCC. Halo 3 and Halo 4 make use of the Xbox One controller's impulse triggers out of the box. Halo: CE and Halo 2 may have that functionality added in via a game update shortly after release. The Scorpion tank is in the Coagulation Anniversary remake, but you have to turn it on in Forge. In classic Halo 2 multiplayer, the Ghost's fuel tank could be shot, causing the Ghost to explode. This is also possible in the Halo 2-emulating Xbox One engine that runs the six Anniversary maps. 343i states - "We had to get Havok to recreate aspects of the original physics code used for Halo 2,". Halo: CE Anniversary's Kinect features are not supported in MCC. Halo: CE's multiplayer maps are the PC versions of the maps due to resolution, but their settings, such as spawn points, are set to make them play exactly as the original Xbox versions (i.e. the Banshee won't be on Blood Gulch). - - - - - - - - - - - - Thoughts? 2. The Master Chief Collection game manual was posted online today on xboxlive.com, and included a full list of all the MCC Skulls, and Halo 2: Anniversary Skulls. There's also some other information I'll touch on... but first we'll start with Skulls: - All the skulls from the previous games are making a return. - The original skulls in Halo 2 are still there. - 2 of the Skulls in H2A are not unlocked in the Campaign. Their requirements are in the Skull list below. - The Grunt Funeral skull is not hidden in CE since it was pre-order DLC, and therefore does not have an achievement tied to it. It also seems that Grunt Funeral will be unlocked from the start. - Most skulls spanning across Halo: CE, 2, and 3 will unlock achievements once found. Halo 4 has no skull finding achievements (since there's no skulls hidden in it's campaign). - All the Halo 3, and Halo 4 Skulls are unlocked from the start. The Halo 3 skulls are still hidden in the Campaign. - You can now toggle Halo 4 skulls in Spartan Ops. All the Master Chief Collection Skulls: Miscellaneous information from the Game Manual: - Specializations for Halo 4 are gone. - All 5 Loadouts, and Loadout items for Halo 4 are unlocked from the start. Specialization Loadout Perk exclusive items are also unlocked. - It is currently unknown what will become of the Specialization exclusive Armor, and Weapon Skins. - The 3 add-on Perks for Halo 4 don't seem to be included from the start. - Theater is only available for Halo 2: Anniversary (I'm not sure if it's fully there for H2A), Halo 3, and Halo 4 (though the availability to each of those games is questionable). Theater is not in Halo: CE or Halo 2. - Theater clips cannot be permanently saved to your File Share. You can save clips using Xbox DVR. - The number of people who can be in a Forge game at a time is maxed at 8. - A popup to download the Halo Channel app may appear the first time you watch Halo: Nightfall, but it's unknown if you need the app to watch the show. - Subtitles for all the games can be toggled on or off. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Thoughts? 3. The Halo Channel announced At Gamescom, 343i announced that they will release a central hub called The Halo Channel. From this hub you'll have acces to all halo games and content that will be available on the Xbox One. The Master Chief Collection will of course be integrated in this hub and from within this channel you'll also be able to stream your gameplay to Twitch and show of your l33t skills. They also made a small announcement regarding The Master Chief Collection. They've now shed some light upon the ranking system which will be similair to the one in Halo 2. Halo 5: Guardians beta date Along with The Halo Channel announcement 343i gave us the time period in which we can play the Beta. The Beta will be playable from the 29th of december untill the 18th of January. Which is 3 weeks playing time! (Talk about a Happy New Year) The Beta is focussed on 4v4 combat on 7 maps and 3 gametypes. You'll also be able to play around with 11 different weapons and a few armour skins. Along with all that you will be able to unlock items that will carry over to the full game. Loadouts will not be in this beta so every Spartan starts out equally. In the press conference 343i revealed some screenshots as well which can be viewed down here: How hyped are you now? Let me know down below! Thank you for reading! Source Source Source Source
  4. We've seen a lot of Halo 2: Anniversary reveals over the past number of months especially screenshots of in-game footage and cinematics. Just after the new site update over at Halo Waypoint a few more images of cinematic screenshots have surfaced, they aren't entirely new reveals but still definitely worth a good look at. Although I believe we get our first look at the Prophet of Regret Thanks to our own Hell Verruckt for kindly passing this news to me. First up we have an image of the actual game box of the Master Chief collection complete with art. Here we have some more cinematic shots of Thel 'Vadam(ee)/The Arbiter, Fleet Admiral Sir Terrence Hood, Prophet of Regret and Sergeant Major Avery Johnson. Leave a comment and tell us your thoughts. 6. Recently a few screenshots of Avatars in the Player ID of Halo: The Master Chief Collection were revealed on Halo4Nation (which I'm thinking they got the images from PAX). The above image shows Avatars: Halo 2 & Halo 3 Arbiter (I'm assuming), Jul Mdama, and SGT Johnson. The Player Emblem seems to be on the right of the images From what we can see the Player ID consists of: - Emblem & Color Customization - Avatar - Service ID (I think like B312, N00B, or B00) - Clan Tag - Roster Nameplate. UPDATE: Another screenshot of Master Chief Avatars from Halo4Nation, and updated Cortana/Palmer screenshot. In the spoiler below. Player ID screenshots: Then we have Spartan Armor customization revealed by Blake BellaMoMa, and Elite Armor customization (revealed by muah). 10. Which of the four Halo titles in the Master Chief Collection do you think will attract the most people? I am personally most excited for H2, and I will almost exclusively be on it. I have serious feelings of nostalgia for Halo 2 and all I want is to play ranked matches and do some custom glitching again. I have so many fond memories of the old days. I hope that the Halo 2 Anniversary Multiplayer stays nice and populated for a good long while. Can't wait.
  11. Well, the Halo 2 Anniversary Trailer wasn't all that was revealed today at San Diego's Comic Con. 343 also threw out some new pictures showing off the Anniversary edition of the fan favorite map, Zanzibar! Zanzibar looks beautiful! We can expect more screenshots of other maps in the future like at Gamescom, as well as the reveal of the last 2 of the 6 expected map remakes! 15. Maybe they could add Invashion' head hunter' and stock pile. I know there from a different game but I think it would be cool if they could do this. Idk maybe I'm being a tad unrealistic. But I think it would be pretty sweet. So feel free to disagree or agree. Tell me what you think or maybe something you'd like to see them add.
