  1. Alright, so by now everyone pretty much knows that 343 completely screwed up the flood mode in Halo 4. Flood, as it stands, is pretty much dead. The only hope is that 343 will fix their mistakes in an update. And since there isn't any reason to think that they can actually spot their own mistakes, the community will have to do it for them. This thread is for the issues with Flood that need to be fixed in an update. I'll list all the issues I've noticed, but PLEASE point out anything that I've missed. 1) Forced Human Color The putrid green armor color that every human is forced to wear may not break Flood games, but they are hard as hell to look at. Leaving aside the issue of why anyone would choose that particular color, why force our skins in the first place? Did 343 never see a game of infection in the past Halos? Infection was one of the few gametypes to actually let players use their chosen armor colors. What has 343 gained by taking that away? There should be the option to allow players to use their chosen colors and the option to CHOOSE a color to be forced on the players 2) Cannot Place Weapons on Map I honestly can't fathom how this happened. Why in God's name can't we place weapons on the map? My only guess is that 343 was just to lazy to actually add the option to turn off weapon spawns to the custom game interface and just left it set to "off" behind the scenes. Sure, we can use ordinance to get around this. But that clutters the HUD with white markers, and in some games, it might be important for the humans to not know which weapons are where. 3) Flood Cannot use Anything but the Energy Sword Once again, how did this happen? Its as if no one at 343 had ever played a custom game before. Limiting the Flood to the sword prevents most, if not all, of the minigames that were made in the past Halo games, as well as preventing any new minigames that might have been made with the new weapons and armor abilities. Not to mention that since the sword has a ridiculous lunge range, it might have been useful in many situations to equip the flood with gravity hammers instead. This absolutely crushes the versatility of Halo custom games. 4) Alpha Zombie Traits Disappear upon Death Now I know 343 never played a custom game. Or at least not Fat Kid. Because that's how I figured this one out - as soon as the humans killed the Fat Kid, he spawned as a regular, weak zombie, unable to do anything. The gametype was completely broken. And don't think this is a problem for just one specific scenario. There are plenty of times when giving certain traits exclusively to the one or two Alpha Zombies is the difference between overwhelming humans or making the infected team too weak to do anything. Now, I'd actually suggest that instead of completely changing the Alpha Zombie traits back to the way they were, 343 should make this a changeable option in the menu. Alpha Zombie traits could disappear "Never," "Upon Death," "Upon Converting X Zombies," or "After X Minutes." But my God, at least allow us the first option. 5) Flood Loadouts Cannot be Customized How can 343 be so arrogant as to think that their arbitrary choice of Flood loadouts will perfectly suit every single Flood game variant? Could they not think of a situation in which a player might want the Flood to have access to Promethean Vision but not the Boost Pack? What if someone wanted to give the Flood jetpacks? I don't think any more needs to be said. 343 really shot custom games in the foot with this one. That's all I've been able to find so far. Once again, please add anything that I've missed. And even if you don't have anything constructive to say, please post to say that you think that the above problems need to be corrected. 343 won't acknowledge these issues unless enough people are speaking out about them. Added From Thread 6) Sprinting Cannot be Changed Obviously, speed is a crucial factor in Infection. The inability to tweak, enable, or disable sprinting for both humans and Flood will be a thorn in the side of many Forgers. 7) Game does not End when the Flood or the Humans Run out of Lives 8 Cannot Remove the Waypoint for the Last Man Standing There are a lot of Infection gametypes that rely on the humans' ability to hide. Now, the Last Man in those gametypes has basically no chance.
  2. Gamertag : Suryantoko Map : The FALLING FLOOD! Gametype : FALLING FLOOD! Recommended Player Count : 8 - 16 THIS FLOOD MAP IS LIKE NO OTHER, most flood maps have a 'head 2 head hide in a building to survive' infection map. But this is different. FALLING FLOOD takes place in the Ravine of the map Ravine. Flood have to parkour their way down the Ravine and tactically kill the Spartans from above. Kind of like Ezio going for an assassination. Spartans spawn on the bottom of the Ravine and try to survive while Flood try to mutilate them above. The game is in 3 levels, Flood have access to 3 teleporters, which will spawn according to when the next level is ready for Spartans. Each teleporter sends you to different spots in the level. E.g teleporter one will send you to 3 spots on level one and Flood make theyre way down from there and so on for the next 2 levels. Each level the Spartans will have to hold the area until a passage or teleporter will spawn. WATCH ABOVE SPARTANS, FLOOD KILL THEM FROM ABOVE!
  3. Hello everyone, this is my new freeroam infection map Aside from having a very good gaameplay I think the map looks quite good Im very happy on how it turned out. 4. The 3 Switches gamertag - ryan LFC 92 map - The 3 Switches gametype - The 3 switches DESCRIPTION [video below] This is a linear flood map where you will find the only way to survive, is to progress through the map, where you will smash and break through walls and locate the switches to open the doors. Can you do it? Enjoy! 8-16players. MAP has been tested and is fully working. good luck. remember, its the inside that counts
  5. I am almost finished making a new flood map (Just need to make some minor changes but the map is currently playable with very few issues). The map is called Isolation, I will have details below. If you are interested in playing on it go to my file share (its not on my file share yet) or send me a message and ill invite you when I'm playing (GT: WoodChuck5562). Its a dynamic map and there are three parts to it. The map was built on Impact. There is also a game mode that goes with it. Here is information about each peice of the map: 1st- The survivors start in a circular room with flood spawning in an elevator shaft on the side of the room. There are warthogs and mongooses in this room but they will be useless until later. A small hallway leads off from the room and there is a "launcher" at the end of the hallway. When the portal opens after 3 minutes you will be able to launch yourself to the next section of the map. 2nd- There is a small outpost on a large meteor which you are able to move around with low gravity. Once inside the outpost you will be able to grab some shotgun ammo and have the option to take a teleporter to the next section. (you will be able to teleport back this time) 3rd- You will be teleported to a small room in a medium sized satellite. There are two hallways which lead off into different rooms. One hallway is short and leads to a large room and the other ends in a small room with a powerweapon you can pick up. This hallway is long and in the middle of it there is a window you get onto the outside of the satellite on. Ive tested this map several times and if you have enough people it can be fun. Its challenging surviving the first 3 minutes. You will need to work together to be able to do it, but once the portal opens it will be easier to survive but not too easy. It will take some practice to get good at the map. Please leave a comment if you are interested in the map. I also have a gamemode that goes with it: Isolation Flood. Just send me a message on xbox live and I will invite you when im playing on the map. Hope you enjoy it!
  6. Hello all, im making a mall and i was wondering if you got any ideas on how to build it i have some but i need some ideas im making it on impact, but idk where to begin or so. Please help
  7. Th3 Bl1nd n1nja Map Name: The Mongoose Zombies Gametype: Mongoose Flood Brief Description: This is an infection style game where humans must drive to stay alive. Humans will spawn (with pistol and shotgun) near 8 mongooses and a rocket warthog. The goal is for the humans to drive around the map killing zombies and trying to survive until the time runs out. Zombies spawn in the middle of the map on a giant rock, where they can man-cannon to most of the map. Zombies have a choice between thruster pack, pro-vision and active camo. Zombies cannot run as fast as the vehicles but when they thruster pack they can glide along the floor at high speeds (tap the jump button continuously after using thruster pack). This game is extremely fun and can be played with 8-16 people. If you have any questions feel free to let me know. Hope You Enjoy! Pictures:
  8. I have always wanted to create fear in the survivor's mind on my infection/flood maps. I thought that having corpses on the map (its in campaign why not forge) would create more fear and maybe a feeling of danger. There could be different kinds of corpses for example a UNSC marine or an Elite or a civillian. They would also be a logical place for weapons on a flood/infection map (marine died you can get his AR) As a second idea there could be tripwires and moving pieces so you could make a trapdoor on ceiling with a corpse or two that when triggered it drops the corpses onto the player. But these are just my opinions, what do you think of my idea?
  9. This is a video of my Flood map, Construct. http://youtu.be/2Iq_pZmyx9I Download it in my fileshare. GT: Vaist

    Raptors

Hello guys! I'm here to present to you a map made by Tomlids. He does not yet have an account here and so I am taking the liberty of promoting his awesome map.The map is named Raptors and supports both infection and race in a Jurassic Park themed setting. The gametype uses a special varient where all zombies are elites. Download Map Here: Download "Special" Gametype Here Otherwise it is recommended that you use the gametype: zm_outbreak Below you is an overview shot of the map showing the zombie respawn points. The main idea behind this project was to have a medium sized infection map that supported all sorts of fun gameplay. This map has without a doubt achieved its goal. Humans can hold out in a tremendous number of ways, ranging from holing up in close quarter tunnels to riding in the back of a warthog. VIDEO LINK Weapons available: -rockets -sniper -shotguns -pistols -grenades -assault rifles -turret Vehicles available: -1 warthog -1 mongoose The shining jewel of the map has to be the warthog gameplay. The map was redesigned specifically to promote better vehicle pathing and now warthogs can take full advantage of the loop around the map. The best hope for surviving in the warthog is to keep moving and the circuit worked into the map allows it to do just that. The size of the map however keeps the warthog from becoming too powerful as the raptors can easily cut across the main building to flank the vehicles or lay ambushes. Some action shots... Here humans are seen defending the campsite. The warthog barrels through the cave where the rockets spawn Just about the best mode of transport to out distance the raptors Holding out in the smallest of the three rooms inside the main building
  11. General Info: Assassin is a custom flood game type I created in Halo: Reach. The general basis was that there was an assassin loosed onto a map (the flood) and his goal is to assassinate the other players. Then the other players, usually guards or some kind of authority (the survivors) have to find and eliminate the assassin, or simply try to survive. The players start out with machine guns and pistols, no equipment, and with all of their other stats normal. The assassin starts out with the energy sword (in reach he'd also have a pistol with limited ammo) and he gets to choose from the three starting equipments; Vision, Camo or the Thruster pack. He also has low defenses, but he is quicker and hits harder. All of the players, including the assassin, also have no radar, so you never know where each other will be. Stealth is highly encouraged when playing as the assassin, as trying to take on all of the survivors head on would end in a quick death. This was greatly inspired by games such as Dishonored and Splinter Cell. Maps: Currently, I have two maps made for this game in Halo 4. Hellridge Prison: This was the first map I made in Halo 4, actually. The story goes that the assassin was captured and thrown in prison, and he has to escape (pretty straightforward, if you ask me). There are several ways for the assassin to get around the map, such as pipes own the ceiling, vents, and even hiding in the walls. The guards have to patrol the prison to find the escaped assassin and kill him. "It's us or him" basically. If the assassin manages to kill all but one of the players, then the last man standing gets the ability to either grab the machine gun, or pilot the Mantis in the left wing of the prison. Both have the ability to finish of the assassin very quickly, but the player loses mobility because of it. I added many aesthetics to this map, such as bars for the prison cells, a shower, red blinking lights to show the prison is in lock-down, and a guard station. Also, all of the secret entrances for assassins can be seen as they are closed using pallets (guards have 0 melee damage so they can't break them down and get into the vents and such). Pictures: coming soon Corporate: The second map I made for Assassin. (I'm not really sure what the story is for this, I just figured the people in the building have a bounty on their heads.) In Corporate, the assassin starts off outside and the other players are inside a building that they can't leave. The assassin has multiple approaches in this map (I tried to expand on the ways he can get around) but its mostly under the floor boards, in the walls and in the ceilings. On the first floor is a broken elevator shaft, a reception desk, and a hanging chandelier. On the second floor lies cubicles and a table with their respective chairs. Then on the third floor sits a mantis for the last man standing to utilize if need be. And throughout almost every wall are passages for the assassin to stalk his prey. Pictures: coming soon. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you guys want to download these maps and the Assassin game type, they can be found in my file share: Soul DestroyerX. However, even though these maps worked out and played well, there were a few bugs that needed fixing (I actually fixed Hellridge Prison's bugs, but my Xbox live is being poop so I can't upload it). Just letting you guys know. I'll be uploading the V2's of these maps once I get the chance. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE: Hellridge Prison is now finished. To download Map: Hellridge Prison V2 Get on Xbox Start up Halo 4 Press start and go to file share Go to map search Search gamer tag: Soul DestroyerX Download: Hellridge Prison V2 Game type: Assassin V2 Get on Xbox Start up Halo 4 Press start and go to file share Go to game type search Search gamer tag: Soul DestroyerX Download: Assassin V2 ~Enjoy yourselves.

  15. At First when i heard about flood mode i thought it was going to be great! Sadly it turned out to be the complete opposite. I thought that everything would be as amazing as it has been in the past few games but it turns out i was wrong. Sure the skin change is a cool idea but they left out a lot of key features. I really enjoy making my own custom flood matches however... i can no longer be creative when it comes to that. The Flood, (zombie, or infected) can no longer have a different weapon this means i can not make a duck hunt map, or i can not have the infected carry a gravity hammer for some other game types. even the Flood can't have thruster packs or holograms...etc. The best thing about the other Halo games was how you can customize the weapons and traits of the flood the same as you can do with a spartan. Looking back at Halo 3 the flood did not just carry an energy sword or whatever someone would like to call that thing... they carried fuel-rod guns, gravity hammers and more. so please hear me out and allow the players of Halo 4 to customize the traits of the Flood the very same as customizing Spartan traits. P.S. Also allow the choice of the infected and non-infected colour to come back. it would be really great! -Thanks for listening
  16. Now look, Halo 4 is a great game, and the new infection mode looks fabulous, but there is one issue, the floods version of the sword has to much of a gap! Here me out, being a flood is suppose to make the character the underdog, and give the humans a chance to make it out alive when the time runs out, but the flood is way to over powered that it is just impossible. So I have a proposition, for custom games you should give us editors the option to choose which weapon the flood gets, so we can give them either the overpowered version of the sword, or the energy swords itself. Or even better, we can give the flood a freaking rocket launcher for all I care, please just make the change. <3. This would also help so many forgers who want to make small infection maps because the lunge would not be over done, and mini games because they could give the flood any weapon like in halo 3 and halo reach. Love, Dylan P.
  17. Alone is an infection gametype that revolves around the infected being stealthy. There are currently two maps for it, the dark and the fog. The infected spawn with good camo, no shields and a run speed of 120%. The humans spawn with bottomless clip railguns and boltshots, as well as infinite regen fields and do not have a motion tracker. The last man standing gets the speed boost effect, which works as a kind of night vision. There is only one alpha zombie and he gets no special traits Both maps are have very little abient lighting, though the flood seem to have some sort of night vision despite not having the flood effect on them. This makes it difficult for the humans to see the zombies and forcing them to work together to spot and hold them back. Regen fields can be used as a light source though they can be a hindrance if used poorly as they darken the rest of the map while you're looking at them from the outside. Another factor in both maps is that all the humans spawn seperately or in pairs, forcing them to actively search for eachother before the zombies pick them off The Dark is on the map impact and is much darker than The Fog. It has a very roundabout design with very few dead ends which means the zombies always have multiple routes to attack from. The upper center has a low gravity hole in the floor that you can jump over, though failing to make the jump causes you to fall to your death. The fog is on Ravine and therefore has brighter natural lighting. This is counteracted however by a layer of mist that apears at a distance on the lower levels. It is smaller than The Dark but zombies often spawn in places not accessible by the spartans, helping the flood to get the jump on them. Both maps and the gametype are on my fileshare, GT is wolfboy702, Reccomended player count is 8-10. I would appreciate any feedback. Special thanks to Decietful Echo for making the fog and helping me with making the dark.
  18. edit: turns out people could only see the map. I had a 1.5 Mb clip uploaded so that could have been the problem. Gamertag: King s0al Map name: Speed Halo 4v Game type: Speed Halo vKing s0al (set flood damage to 500%!!) Number of players: 8-16 (preferably 16) Basically, Speed Halo is now back in Halo 4 So enjoy your custom game nights even more! edit: Needs play testing, fyi. Please leave a reply letting me know if it's a good/bad remake. I did my best with H4's forge. Props to DBC Mak3r Com3 and Darth Human for making such an awesome game.
  19. Just wanted to play custom games with someone my gt is ToWhite4You msg me for invite. Most likely playing - demo derby - infection - races Or any map u have

  21. Hey guys! My name is CrustyChristian. I need some help testing two of my linear infection maps before I post them. If anyone wants to get a party together, organize a custom game lobby, or anything else, message me either here on 343 industries, or on Xbox Live. Any help would be great and a full lobby would be ideal. If you have aany questions feel free to ask. Thanks...
  22. Gamertag: DoctorB77 Map: Stand Gametype: Slender Description of Map: The map impact is designed as an abandoned military space station. Many of you might have played slender before on the PC. Now he is in space along with you survivors. The map is divided into 4 main sections. The spawning point consists of two corridor pieces and a view barriers. The survivors spawn here and have the choice to go right or left. If they choose right they will find themselves in a rocky and natural area which is much less explored by the military which ran the space station. There are many rocks along with many crates and barriers littered across the land. If they would have chosen left off of the spawn they would find themselves in a more base like design. In this section there are many places to hide such as among the silos or the house. While this is the place that is ideal for hiding there is no way escape if you are found due to the fact that the only way out would be between you and the slenderman. In the back of the map there is the tunnel and the back alley. The slenderman spawns in the tunnel and the back alley contains a hiding spot that can be good or bad depending on how it is used. The back alley also connects the natural side and the base side of the map together to form a complete circle. Description of Game: This game can be described as suspenseful, scary, thrilling, and a lot of fun. It is best experienced in the dark with a headset on. If you are really going to try and scare yourself turn on some creepy music The humans and slenderman walk at 90% and the humans have the ability to sprint short distances. Among the map are pallets that can be broken and be strategically used to avoid dying. The slenderman is invisible at all times and you can tell if he is nearby from the sounds that the flood make. In the game the map is full of shadows that build the suspense even more. (These shadows are not seen in theater mode). You can not jump and most importantly you must know that YOU CAN NOT KILL THE SLENDERMAN! The goal is survival. Just like the real game. This game makes for great reactions. I have had people scream and cry in this game and I, even though be the maker of the game, have been scared out of my mind as well. Below is a group of pictures I took of a game that me and a few people on the forum played. I again apologize for the shadows and special fx not showing. I hope to get some great gameplay soon and post it hear for you all to see. I put them in a spoiler to make everything in the OP more compact.
  23. Gamertag: Seymour1500 Map: Facility Gametype: Lab Rats Description: Facility is an indoor, free-roam infection map, meant for the maximum amount of players, which is not specified and is subject to change. Since the map is quite large, it shouldn't be played with less than six players. The gametype for the free-roam version of this map is Lab Rats, although there is a Slender Mini-game variant in the Mini-game section labeled "Meltdown". Inside the giant factory, there are many rooms, each with a different balance of long and short sight lines and different strategies.
  24. As you all know Flood has replaced the former Infection game type. Now don't get me wrong Flood is cool, however it is so strict when it comes to changing its rules via Custom Games. We lack the ability to change the weapons the Flood uses, what abilities they use, and how they look. All vital to the survival of our favorite Custom Games such as Teacher, Jenga, and Duck Hunt. Please vote YES if you wish to play these awesome Custom Games again.
  25. So I was making the map in Forge with my friend and it requires a specific game type to work with the whole thing properly. But sadly, Halo 4 lacks the awesome gametypes that they had in reach. My Personal favorites that are no longer with us are Infection and Race. I do realize that this is most likely temporary but I would like to know when 343 Industries are going to update the game types for Custom Games at least. And yes, I do know that Flood is basically Infection. But you can ONLY be a Flood which is disappointing.
