  1. Well I've been trying to download some Modded, and hilarious maps for Halo 3 the past few days, and I've had trouble finding anyone who still has their File Share intact. I went on YouTube and the interwebs to find relevant Profiles with the maps, but to no avail. I used the Chat option (it's below), but I hate having to invite people just to see their File Share. So I guess this is just some sort of File Share center to share your Halo 3 maps. I guess this topic will also serve the same purpose when the MCC comes out. Anyway if you're wondering how to actually view someone's File Share: UPDATE: I've found that the old Bungie File Share still has some of the Map files, Gametypes, and other stuff there. Here's the method to get the files: Lastly don't just post "Hey I got maps here's my GT". Please explain exactly what you have in your File Share. Also be prepared to receive Chat PMs if you do reveal you have maps. Just ignore them.
  2. The hunt for a specific Easter Egg in Halo 3 began in 2012 when a bungie.net user that goes by the name of "Its A Mirage" asked a question for Bungie's mail sack. The user asked a question to the participating employees of the mail sack regarding Easter Eggs. One of the employees, Jon Cable, replied to the question confirming there are undiscovered Easter Eggs still out there. "Its A Mirage - Are there any Easter eggs from your past games that surprised you at how quickly they were found or any that surprised you at how long they took to find?" "Definitely the IWHBYD skull in H3. But you cheated. There is one Easter egg in Halo 3 that I don't think anyone has found - I stumbled across it in code a while back. It only happens on a specific day...so good luck. Jon Cable" After seeing that response members from the Bungie/Halo community tried to find the Easter Egg but had no luck tracking it down. In a later mail sack (no link available) another bungie.net user asked a question for the Q&A. "What is your proudest moment in your time at Bungie?" "Showing my wife the Easter egg I put in the halo 3 loading screen for her - the one that nobody has found yet. Adrian Perez" This time there was a hint to where players may find it, on the loading screen in Halo 3 on a specific date. For two years nobody had found until yesterday when a video was uploaded to Youtube by user "Lord Zedd" The date when the Easter Egg would appear is December 25th and on the Halo ring in the loading screen had a message along the side of it saying "Happy Birthday Lauren!", Lauren is Adrian Perez's wife. Lord Zedd was able to find it by changing the date while offline on his Xbox to the required date. So there you have it, the hunt for famous Halo 3 loading screen Easter Egg is now over and can now be added to the long list of Halo 3's discovered Easter Eggs and Halo overall. Leave your thoughts on this discovery below. View full article
  3. A couple of questions for all of you. Question 1: What do you think The Arbiter's HUD (Ammo Counter, Radar, Helmet Decals, etc.) will look like in Halos: 2, 3, and Guardians? Question 2: Would you like to see both the TrustySnooze falcon and the generic Reach Falcon brought back in guardians? Question 3: Would you like to have either Hayabusa or Raider armor as a Waypoint Unlockable? Question 4: Would you like to be able to make your OWN, PERSONAL armor whether it be intimidating or silly in multiplayer that only YOU can possess and tinker with as you please in multiplayer? Question 5: Would you like to be able to have your emblem on your elite character again like in Halo 3? Thanks for answering, ladies and gentlemen. -Sincerely, The Men and Women at TeamHostileTakeover Machinima and Commentary
  4. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-PtjomjQ-Y This trailer was released today on HaloWaypoint's channel. It would seem that the terminals will be set around Arbiter's life before meeting Master Chief, and his troubling deeds from the past. Also we now know the true full name of the Spartan with Arbiter, which is Jameson Locke. So what did you think? You like?
  5. I was wondering if Halo 2 and 3 would have their normal ranking system still. I was a huge fan of it, to me it made it worth the challenge to legitly make it to level 50. I found it really boring to only be offered credits to buy different armors can crap. A rank a 5 year old could match up too by playing 8 hours longer than me one day. Seeing someones rank told me how good they were so if I was beaten I known I still need to improve. When I reached 50 in Halo 3 in Lone Wolves, Team Doubles, and in Team Swat I was proud. I worked hard and had a ton of close matches with skilled players. Some people think rank is pointless and not fun to be apart of. Well thats why both halo 2 and halo 3 had social playlists...just for that reason. I would play those too if I just wanted to have fun. So with this collection of my best memories all together in 1 disc, I really hope the ranking system stays the same. Just have a way to report and ban players who boost, derank on purpose, or afk so it doesn't affect us legit players. SInce everyone can capture game play footage and we send a link to what happen please have a ban hammer for those players. In Halo 2 I reach level 30 In Halo 3 I reach level 50 What was your legit rank in both games, and also who wants to join me on my quest to have the first legit 50 in halo 2 if it still exists?
  6. Hey all I was wondering if any of you guys wanted to join a Halo 3 gamenight sometime in the near future? I would prefer that you have all the map packs, a decent mic, and maybe a friend or two. 7. In the wake of the newly announced Halo 5: Guardians, a collection of Halo: CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 4 all remastered in HD for the Xbox One are rumored to come soon to market! Halo 5: Guardians already has Halo fans pumped and ready for E3 and beyond, and with so much to decipher about the un-turned stones rooted in this news, I've decided to take a different turn and talk about a recent Halo rumor. Engadget.com recently posted an article themselves confirming the collection, with backing that Microsoft themselves said they would release as much Halo as possible. They stated how 3 year titles would not be frequent, and with Sabre Interactive already working on an unannounced title, could it be possible that it's a large collection for Xbox One rather than just Halo 2 Anniversary, as viable as the idea is? The full description also states that, "Our sources say that the set will zero in on Halo's most famous soldier to refresh audience's memories ahead of Halo 5's release, so curiosities like Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach likely won't be a part of the package. " This could be an off-put for some who love ODST and Reach, as well as the ever-forgotten RTS Halo Wars. View attachment: HaloCEPoster.jpg Would you want a Collection of all four of the classics on Xbox One, or do you just want 343i to focus on their core titles? Debate, and be sure to like and comment, thanks for reading!

  10. If you are on this website you will agree with me when I say that the Halo games are good. But only halo 1&2 are on PC. People will tell you that they stopped porting to PC because everyone pirates games on PC. Even if that was true (not that pirating does not exist but its not as bad (with some exceptions like World of Goo) as some people might tell you) then with the ending of the 7th gen and the Xbox one not being backwards compatible not than many people will be that eager to develop for the 360 (give it 2 or 3 years and they will stop making games for the 360). I chose to switch to PC because the games are a lot cheaper and there are lots of indie games, but I still want to play my Halo games. My 360 will only last so long. Also why worry about how much money you make seeing as most of the money is made in the initial realise of the game (Halo 3 game out 2007, ODST 2009 and reach 2010) so if 343 were to go with a digital distribution method of selling the Halo games that policed prior to the Xbox One you would have to spend practically no money. Not to mention how easy (when compared to the other jobs that a game company could do) it is to port a game from one platform to another. I can only see 343 profiting from this. Just put Halo CE, 2, 3, ODST and Reach (maybe wars) on steam. I would gladly pay for all the games again just to have it on PC/steam. So what do you think? Would you like anything to be added to the games if they were ported (and if so, what)?
  11. Hey, I am new here. I first want apoligize for my grammar, as English isn't my native language. A few days ago i stumbled upon some halo 3 vids and realized how much i miss those days and that I do NOT like the halo 4 multiplayer at all. Luckely there are still enough people playing halo 3 to find matches quite quick, although not in every playlist. I wonder why big team slayer is played by no one, i can't seem to find a match in big team slayer wich really bums me out. Doesn't anyone like it?
  12. Welcome all to the 29th 343i Weekly Community Poll! 13. Im seeking a Competitive Halo Team or possibly starting my own. If anyone has any information or is interested please let me know.
  14. This is the first of several trailers for the up and coming Halo 3 Machinima I am working on 'Legacy'. It is set to be released summer time this year. I'm happy to see and hear what you guys think and any criticisms you have. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0ZkpYTGb50&list=HL1393808101
  15. I think it would be everyone's dream if 343 Industries made Halo 3 for Xbox One. I mean don't get me wrong, Halo 3 was practically the best game to play back in the day. If they made Halo 3 for Xbox One, I'm sure everyone would want to buy it. Perhaps not for $60, but maybe $25 or something.
  16. Ok, so I'll make this short and sweet. To produce Halo 4's music, it must be very cinematic and epic feeling. To produce Halo 3's music, it must sound Jungley, and you must always use a rimshot for the snare every time! But in all seriousness, Which do you prefer? For me, Its halo 3.
  17. A couple of weeks ago I made a remake of a old Halo 3 Commercial in gmod. The commercial was called: "Believe" I'll show you mine first, then the original... Mine: Here's the original from 2007: I tried to be as true to the original as possible, but with Garry's mod some things must be altered. I made this because I thought it would go good with the mercenaries of tf2 vs. the robots, compared to humanity fighting the covenant. The parallel is made when you see the TF2 characters fighting for their very lives against a seemingly endless foe, the same way we fought the covenant...
  18. I'm not sure about mine. I really like Halo 3's OST, but I like Reach's OST also.
  19. So, Halo 5 is slated to be released holiday 2014 (around Thanksgiving/Christmas of next year) and I thought a great way to get excited about the release of Halo 5 was to look at the history of Halo, from the beginning to now (chronologically). So let's begin. Halo: Combat Evolved This is the game that started it all. Inspired by Marathon, ONI, and a few other games, when it was first thought of by Bungie Studios and Take Two Interactive, it was originally intended to be a game for the Mac. It was even announced as such in 1999 by Steve Jobs. Little did Bungie, Apple, or Take Two know at the time Microsoft was actually scheming how to turn the "two horse" (Sony and Nintendo) console race into a three way free-for-all. Halo, at the time code-named "Monkey Nuts" (which was later changed to "Blam!" because Jason Jones couldn't say Monkey Nuts in front of his mother) was one of the games that Microsoft wanted for "The X-Box Project", which was a console designed to compete with the Nintendo Gamecube and the Playstation 2. To make sure the console was a success Microsoft wanted to get as many top-notch games as possible for the launch of their console. In June of 2000, Bungie accepted Microsoft's offer to buy both them and the game. Take Two Interactive didn't want to work for Microsoft and thus left project "Blam!" and took the rights to Myth and Oni with them. The stage was set for Halo to finally come to life. There was some discussion as to whether Halo should be third person or first person, but with better technology in play Bungie decided that the game played more "fluid" in first person. Not to mention the added bonus of being inside Master Chief's head made players more sympathetic to the character. The two weapon system was integrated, and the Cortana letters had been received with joy from fans. Halo: The Fall of Reach by Eric Nyland released October 30, 2001, paving the way for Halo Canon and going more in depth on the story of the "Halo Universe". Both the X-Box and Halo: Combat Evolved hit the shelves November 15, 2001. Halo CE was an instant hit. Raving reviews and gold stars all around, it sold a million copies in five months and is credited for 50% of all X-Box sales. Five months after the game was released (right on the millionth game mark), Microsoft authorized a second Halo. The success of Halo: Combat Evolved also led Bungie to further pursue "viral marketing" as well as more books similar to the Fall of Reach. Halo 2 Halo 2 was, once again, authorized by Microsoft just as Halo CE hit 1 million copies sold. Halo 2 was going to be the game to play on X-Box Live, which was the "online multiplayer" element that we today take for granted. With this in mind, Bungie realized that a good deal of the weapons in the game were unbalanced for online multiplayer. So, Bungie started off trying to balance the weapons while adding on to the story that they had started with Halo CE. With Halo 2, they decided to go with distancing the player from the characters by switching the player from Master Chief to a newly introduced character that we all know as "The Arbiter". They also introduced a bunch of new features (new to Halo, that is) like boarding and duel-wielding. Bungie created a 9 minute demo that debuted at E3 2003 (or E3'03, if you'll recall). This demo showed off a good chunk of the new features and enemies (drones and brutes) and got fans excited for the new game to come. However, Bungie was about to hit a very big snag. The engine that Bungie had built the E3 demo on (and so far the game) was not compatible with the X-Box hardware. Bungie had to basically start over with only a year until the deadline that Microsoft had set for them. Bungie pushed for as many extensions as possible, and cranked up the viral marketing with ilovebees.com, but Microsoft was pretty stern. So, Bungie had to release Halo 2 not quite as they had imagined it November 2004 with a cliffhanger ending due to the crunch. That being said, however, the game sold. A lot. And was praised, despite it's flaws (which some say made it even more fun) as one of the most competitive and best online experiences that you could get out of a console game. It also left canon lovers wanting more, which brings us to the next part of Halo history. Halo 3 In 2006, Microsoft and Bungie announced Halo 3. Bungie had started on Halo 3 following the process that they had set with Halo 2, and they did not take much of a break between games. Bungie had a bad taste in their mouth with the way that they had to end Halo 2, so they took everything that they weren't able to put into Halo 2 and put it into Halo 3. They also took Halo 2's multiplayer and did everything they could to improve it, including adding in a much desired Forge Mode as well as more weapons and the addition of equipment. Halo 3 went over more smoothly than Halo 2 and broke all of the records that Halo 2 had previously set. It was released September 25, 2007, two years after the release of the X-Box 360. Shortly after the release of Halo 3, a few Bungie employees set out to see about getting a Halo movie made, and then not long after that (which apparently didn't go over so well since we don't have a Halo movie [except for FUD which doesn't really count imo]) Bungie announced their decision to leave Microsoft. The decision by Bungie to leave Microsoft caused a bit of a spat between Bungie and Microsoft officials, but after everything Bungie agreed to do two more Halo titles before going off on their own. Halo Wars Halo Wars was released February 26, 2009 (March 3 for North America) and was the first Halo game made entirely out of Bungie's control. Microsoft owned Ensemble Studios, who specialized in RTS games, and picked them to create the Halo title for 2009. After Ensemble created Halo Wars, it came up with an idea for a Halo MMO, code-named project Titan. However, Microsoft said no, and Ensemble was shut down. One month before the release of their game. On a brighter note, Halo Wars received good reviews and to date is one of the top selling RTS games for consoles. Halo 3: ODST Halo 3: ODST was the first of the two Halo titles that Bungie Studios promised to make before leaving Microsoft. Originally title Halo 3: Recon, it was released September 22, 2009. It took a grand total of 14 months to make, from start to finish. Bungie spared no expense in the casting for the game, however critics maintain that the game felt more like an expansion than a full Halo game. Halo 3: ODST introduced firefight mode, which was a fan-favorite all around. It also came with all of the DLC multiplayer maps for Halo 3 AND Halo Reach beta access (for newer copies). This put a lot of cries to rest about Halo 3: ODST costing $60. Halo Reach Halo Reach. The last Halo game created by Bungie, and the end of an era. This time around, it was all about the game for Bungie. They seemed to ignore the canon that they had created throughout the years (and I know this is a controversial thing but it is documented that they did override previously set canon, therefor breaching it) to create a very fun and gripping experience. Halo Reach released September 14, 2010 and broke tons of sales records. It came with a ton of critical acclaim and had some fans in an uproar (over the little things mainly, everyone must complain about something). It also set the stage for 343 Industries to take over the reigns, which happened on March 31, 2012. But I get ahead of myself. Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary November 15, 2011 343 Industries released the tenth anniversary edition of Halo: Combat Evolved. This was their first big trail in taking on the Halo series, and by all accounts they passed it. 343 Industries took Halo CE and gave it a HD face-lift and added as much as they could into it (such as skulls, new control schemes, and achievements) without changing the game entirely. It gave the fans who started from the very beginning (and those who joined in a little later on) some much appreciated nostalgia. The game included a disc that gave players access to the Halo Reach "Anniversary" Map Pack, which included some good ol' fashioned maps and gametypes to complete the nostalgia. Less than a year later, 343 Industries took the reigns of Halo and brought us to where we are now. Halo 4 Halo 4 was a game that a lot of fans doubted would ever come after the release of Halo 3. There was a lot of speculation about it when Bungie announced that they would be letting go of Halo, including that Master Chief would never come back from being stranded in space. Then, June 6, 2011 Halo 4 was announced. As it turns out, development began in 2009 and was kept pretty hush hush. Which in this day and age is hard to do. Halo 4 took around three years to complete. When it was announced there was WILD speculation on what the game would be about. There were rumors running rampant about what the enemies would be, hoaxes on leaked documents, actual leaked documents, and even a stolen copy of the game after it was completed resulting in a bunch of bans from X-Box Live. This was definitely one of the most anticipated Halo titles ever released. When it was released, it was met with critical acclaim and grossed $220 million dollars on it's first day and had over 1 million active players in the first 24 hours of it's release. Halo 4 introduced more weapons, more multiplayer modes, and the new storyline for Master Chief. So there we are. The Halo history. The thing about history, though, is that there's always more of it. There is going to be a Halo 5 and 6, and possibly more after that. We will have to see what is to come. Anyways, this has taken me literally all day to research and write and it is now almost 3 in the morning, so I am going to sleep now. Hope you enjoy it.

  23. Helloooo Community! So I am playing 4 and I had a brainstorm. And that brainstorm was about how to rank up in Halo 5. Now the following Ideas, are of course, rough ideas, opinion based, factual element assited ides that I hope can shape Halo 5 for the better. So please join me as we discuss what could be a great and wonderful fresh ranking system that can cater to all! Competive Ranking Skill: This is a overhaul of Halo 3's and Halo 4's skill and CSR systems respectively. It is a 1-100 'Skill Rank' that increases the better you play. It does this in the following manner; When you are matched up, you will be placed against player equal to or maximum 2 Skills above you but not outside your tier. every 5 skills equals a tier. players a teir below you will not be matched up with you. this prevents any people being unjustly demoted cause they had bad games as a result of poor match-up. Now ranking uo a skill is relatively simple. If you play 4v4, 5v5 or minimum 8 player Team Slayer, FFA, KOTH, CTF, Extraction, and you Finish among the top 3 MVPs, if it is a 6v6, 7v7, 8v8 or minimum 12 player Team Slayer, Invasion, Dominion etc then it is the top 5 MVPs out of both teams (you don't have to win to be MVP) then you start MVP chain. now, if you can chain say 3 MVPs in three matches in a row, you go up a skill. But, if you chain 5 games as the worst player in 8 player minimums or bottom 3 in 12 player minimum, you go down a skill. This ranking system also means that if you are amongst the players in the middle ground without chaining enough to progress or degress, you have hit your current niche skill , and so until you as a player improve, you will have matches where you play pretty well most of the time, in other words, a fair match up. This caters to both the highly competive player and the just want to have fun as it mean the competive players get to have their 'who has the biggest rifle' contests but just for fun can find their niche, stay there and not have to worry with being placed with people out of their league, which might start to annoy them. Customization Level System: This takes the Reach ranking system, adds to it without taking away from it, but making it not affect who you match up with. You earn XP for this Leveling System, and the XP you earn also earns you an amount equal to that in credits. these credit are used to purchase the following; Weapon Skins Helmets (Attachable Custom Decor both skins and peices [like in reach]) Chest Peices (Custom Decor skins and peices) Shoulders Guantlets Upper Leg Peices Lower Leg Peices Visor Colour Unique Emblems (Special, Awesome ones) Armour Effects (Flaming Head Red, Blue, Storm, Birthday party, but some can be used together) Firefight Voices Spartan Matchmaking Voice (Eg. Halo 3 spartan, Halo Reach Spartan, Halo 4, Halo 3 Elite etc) Additional Loadout slots Weapon Effects (Like Armour effect but for loadout weapons eg confetti frags rainbow LR) Wrist Decal (The wrist things from reach) leg pouch (again from reach belt peice (in reach, but were defualts on torsos) Knives (custom knives that change your assanation animations and and knive on armour) Warthog Horn (General Lee!) this caters to the Just wanna have fun by allowing them to have something to work for that isn't about their skill level. its for customization and some general comedic fun. So what do you think Community? Is it worth a thought? I hope so, cause I would love to see this implemented, even just for the customization options. The Skill system keeps people in their good match ups without hindering their over all progression, and stops people from getting annoyed from being placed against people who are to good. Please, post your opinion, thoughts, possible improvements, other customization ideas and so on. Lets make Halo 5 have fresh, new, and fun ranking system!
  24. All parts of Hayabusya unlocked yet no sword appears and only got combat and assault full for elites how do I get more for them. Oh and E.V.A and C.Q.B and Mark VI only for Spartan (all full). How to fix + get them plz.
  25. Alright, so, Halo 4 is getting boring. I haven't been playing for awhile. Not because i dislike it, but because i have no one to play with. I have a mic, i have friends (that don't have Halo), but there are so many aspects i am not able to enjoy because i don't have anyone to play with, ha. So, i'm looking for a clan, preferably a Military Clan. I'm looking for something that is not too entirely strict, but still takes things serious. I want to have fun and not be overwhelmed with things that don't exactly concern things other than whats going on in game. I want team work, and i would like something fairly organised, however not with an entirely massive population. But, even if i can't get this, beggars can't be choosers. I'm kind of willing to play with anyone right now as long as you don't sound like an infant and have a winning mentality. It's okay to joke around and not take things seriously sometimes, but if you're just in it for nothing, then i'm not interested. So, send me a request. Come talk to me, i really need something guys !
