  3. Trifecta Trifecta is a three way symmetrical map primarily designed for Slayer, but with added KOTH, and Oddball gametypes. The map features some pretty unique sightlines. 4. I've been playing through the Legendary campaigns in co-op with a friend of mine. In Halo 2, when one of us dies, we go back to the checkpoint, as if we have the Iron skull on. Is it supposed to be like this? Was it always like this? As a side note, we only had Sputnik, Grunt Birthday Party, Prophet Birthday Party, and IWHBYD on. One last thing: We finished Cairo Station and got the achievement for beating a level on Heroic or Legendary with the Masterblaster skull on, and we didn't have it on. Is the entire campaign glitched out? I know the game is having problems, but...wow...
  5. The new forge that is available in Halo 2 Anniversary is quite remarkable. A new feature, known as Movement Snap, will revolutionize the way we forge. Movement Snap combines the ethics of Coordinate Forge and Magnet Forge. As a result, the forging process is a lot quicker. Because of this, and the 650 piece budget, forge maps are becoming a lot larger than before. It was only a matter of time before Hybrid maps boomed... Hybrid maps: "What are they?", you might ask. Hybrid maps are, at the core, large competitive arena maps. They start out as small arenas, and then you build on them with Big Team Battle essentials. These Hybrid maps may feature vehicles, balanced weapons and spawns, and diverse map control. Because of their size, a two-players-against-one scenario is unlikely, unless you enjoy standing out in the open. I would consider Halo 4's "Complex" to be the first great Hybrid map. Hybrid maps are not for everyone, and it shows with the reception of Halo 4's multiplayer modes. So what is the difference between a Big Team map and a Hybrid map? Well, a very difficult question to ask with an easy answer. Let's take a look at Halo 2's "Coagulation". For the most part, the open area is the center of the action, and is equidistant from the bounds. Notice how the open area can surround the base, and yet the base is very close-quarters on the inside. Hybrid maps, on the other hand, use open areas passively. The center of the action is in the close quarters arena setting. Another look at "Complex", shall we fancy? Players gravitate AWAY from the open grass and to the structure, while in "Coagulation", Players gravitate TOWARDS the open mounds. Right now, I am working a new Hybrid. I started by trying to combine the symmetrical halves of two symmetrical arena maps of mine: "Breachport" from Halo: Reach, and "New Pacific" from Halo 4. I ended up adding a new floor on the bottom that not only connects the two halves, but creates an outer ring that goes around the map. It was on this floor that I decided that I should add a couple vehicles, and at that very moment, it became a Hybrid map. I don't believe I'm only one expanding on my old maps: There are many cartographers who stuck around to witness and become inspired by Halo 4's method. With Halo 2 Anniversary's lack of sprint, and the subjective of an Assault Rifle as a power weapon, I think this style of map design will warrant many players less "Headcase" medals. It is a good time to be a cartographer.
  6. Halo 2 anniversary should release on Xbox 360. I totally support you guys wanting to put it on Xbox One but you may earn more money releasing it on both consoles!
  7. I am looking for people in the halo 2 community to add for mlg customs / matchmaking. Leave your gamertag here or message me on xbl. My gamertag is xBlack Prox
  8. i am sick of the bullcrap i encounter on the garbage that is called Halo 2, i need (everyone else) some real action and stable gameplay. I feel cheated that they have taken out half of the decent playlists for along while now. Atleast Halo 4 to come back first, SWAT also... i didnt even get a chance to play most of the gametypes before 343 took them down...
  9. Hey guys, v1 of my map Bloodlust was released today after a few days of testing and one or two tweaks with feedback I got. It's a map designed around 4v4 CTF and Slayer, King of the Hill is also available. It's symmetrical and hopefully well balanced, and performance was a high priority, there should be no frame drops ingame. Power weapons and powerups include 2 snipers, 1 active camo, 1 overshield and a rocket launcher. All the screenshots are here (this is version 0.9): http://imgur.com/a/s29hX You can download from my fileshare 'RIOTFRUIT'
  10. Hi Guys! Aside from the server issues, there are some playlist complaints. I have played Halo since the 1st game and am committed to this game and no other. Here's the Game Filter suggestion (probably suggested by others but I want to reiterate so 343 will hear us and implement): Many people who like H1, 2 &3 didn't like H4. I personal love H4 but not the others. So most players are unhappy having to play the game versions we don't to. The solution is to give us a filter that we can set to only get the game-type (Any combination of Halo 1,2,3 or 4) and maps we want. So, if you only want to play BTB but I want Halo 4 games, you apply the filter to play only Halo 4 maps with other people who also want to play Halo 4. Then everyone can play 100% of what they want to play. People who don't care wont set the filter and will get all games as they do now. People who only want to play certain versions will get to play the versions they want and not those they do not. Mission Accomplished - Let's go play some Halo!!! C HUNTER 0NE
  11. So as we all know this game is glitchy as **** but while playing co-op on quarentine zone my friend and I noticed that I was walking into the wall shooting randomly however on my game I was just fighting normally. So in both of our games we were playing with our characters being controlled in different places it was like a lack of sync, when we got to the end of the level it was fixed but after completing the rest of the campaign we the game didnt noticed the game hadnt recorded us making any progress since the glitch, no achivemrnts either. Anyone else encountered this, or can any one sugest how to bring this to attention as i did not get a reply from halo twitter?
  12. When matchmaking is fully fixed to a Halo standard, please can you make more individualised playlists for each game. That way I can enjoy the wonders of Halo 1 and Halo 2 without running the risk of some person voting for a Halo 3 or Halo 4 map... :-| WHAT?!! Also surely it would make sense to have the original Halo 2 playlists that everyone loved. 1v1 Double Team Big Team (Just for Halo 2 and even Halo 1) Team Slayer Team Skirmish Multi Team even Action Sack!! This is the best thing you could have done for Halo fans, please don't spoil it by not making the multiplayer what it should be. Halo 1 and Halo 2 multiplayer all the way!! Thank you.
  13. my earlier post got deleted, so heres post number 2. The super jumps and rocket sword glitch do not work. 343 promised in their documentary that halo 2 would be "exactly the same as it shipped ten years ago, including the glitches." This could not be further from the truth. Please explain to me how not being able to super jump or rocket sword glitch is exactly the same as it was 10 years ago? 343 you are complete garbage, and i hope enough people get mad at this that you fix your stupid mistakes.
  14. Halo 2 did NOT have map voting. Don't ruin Halo 2 by putting it in. Don't even put vetoing in. Map vetoing is for Halo 3. LEAVE IT THERE. Map voting is for Halo Reach and Halo 4. LEAVE IT THERE. The reason I am back into Halo after all these years is the chance to play Halo 2 online again. It's the reason I bought my Xbox One. DON'T RUIN IT WITH MAP VOTING 343I. HALO 2 DID NOT HAVE MAP VOTING. I'm a huge BTB player, I have been since Halo 2, and when I play Halo 4, EVERYONE VOTES FOR THE SAME FOUR MAPS ON BIG TEAM SLAYER ALL FRIGGIN DAY. Halo 2 didn't have map voting and we played EVERYTHING.I am terrified that Halo MCC BTB will be Blood Gulch + remakes Big Team Slayer all day 24/7 because of all the noobs that are too scared to play something outside of their comfort zone. They always vote for the same friggin maps all friggin day on Team Slayer only!!!!!! DON'T RUIN HALO 2. KEEP MAP VOTING OUT.
  15. 343i Has posted new videos on their YouTube Channel titled as Halo 2 Anniversary Prologue terminals. It is unknown if these are to be in the actually game, or just a showcase of what the terminals will appear like. So without further ado... ROLL CLIPS! Terminal 1 - Beholden A small Covenant recon team has been dispatched by the Prophet of Regret to retrieve an artifact that could, at last, point the sacred way to Halo. Terminal 2 - Unyielding Fred-104 and Linda-058 come before the Office of Naval Intelligence to update them on their assault of the Covenant’s Unyielding Hierophant, and to reveal what it might mean for humanity’s fight for survival. Summary: In the first Terminal, you see that the Covenant recon team finds a "Luminary" which pinpoints to the opening of the portal to the Ark, which just so happens to be on "Erde Tyrene" (Earth) This gives insight on why Regret Jumped the gun to Earth before anyone other prophet knew of it. In the second terminal, Fred and Linda are still in contact with John, and are supposed to rendezvous with him after meeting ONI Brass. It also gives a picture of Regrets fleet riding past Jupiter on their way to Earth. So what are your thoughts, concerns, assumptions, about the terminals?
  16. As a true halo fan aside from already destroying kids with its perfectly balanced multiplayer the way it WAS,The armor was some thing truly special to me,it made you feel like a bad -snip- and made you want to flock it to anyone you killed, In H4 the armor style was just wack, everyone looked the same since it was so fast, and i felt no urge to really want to play the game to unlock more of its armor unlike the previous Halos,Halo 3 and reach had fantastic armor, and after Bungie left they took that great armor styled talent and put it in Destiny now,The titan class?? Man i could only imagine how they wouldve made the spartans look in halo 4 with that talent, but im not here gonna praise Bungie now, cause 343 can do it too,If they just spend a good amount of time putting the effort into every single piece of armor instead of just using an easy template for all the spartans,I mean if you need help just look at the Destinys Titan class xD (sorry again) but no really, I love what 343 is doing by going back to Halos roots and everything but the Armor was Definitely apart of that, Each spartan looked truly different from buff spartans with that huge knife as a shoulder piece in Halo Reach to slim spartans like in Halo 3,and then people would just make crazy combinations and it was great to even then see their spartans in Halo reach on the side with the vertical list view (As in all halo games) unlike H4 with its horizontal card style which made me feel like i was playing a game that was not Halo sadly,So yes Im hoping 343 would really hear me out on this cause im sure every halo player is hoping of a much better armor customization style for Halo 5,cause after they nail the multiplayer and make H5 go back to how Halo was, Im going to get bored if theres not that super impossible god like piece of armor that ill have to put in mad hours to get, like how halo reach did it ,if anything you can implement credits again and just use them to buy pieces of armor, make them at ridiculous prices and thatll get players to put a lot of hours in the game and especially if you can unlock armor from playing the campaign, and unlocking achievements, thats how you get them hooked, but once again MAKE THE ARMOR LOOK BEAST like a true war fighter spartan, just think Tactical,Military, and Warrior with sharp edges, and even in halo reach you could see some of the dirt and damage on some armor too. but if you listen I bet youll be in the right path to make some fine Armor for H5,Not super power rangers from space with retarted bright colors that made the red in matchmaking look salmon and the blue was like sky blue?? DO NOT REPEAT H4 with that armor style ever, again.but thank you for reading i know it was a lot to -snip- read but i felt i had to get this point across ASAP,cause this will be the decision for me if i actually want to keep playing H5 after you guys make the game "Go back to its roots" Side note: Whats up with all the Blue in Halo 4's UI? Make it a nice Dark mysterious atmosphere, sadly look how Bungie did it with Destiny? Lol sorry again
  17. IGN posted an in-depth look at the Master Chief Collection with a list of "Bonus Facts", one of them a quip on the Halo 2: Anniversary Resolution. Frank O'Connor assured not that long ago that 343i was doing everything it could to get H2A to full 1080p, but was unsure whether or not they could achieve it in time. The new information shows that his worry is now the case. Blur's H2A cinematics look so real, that it's scary (hehe) In the BF (Bonus Fact... there's literally no other way to describe it) 343i Executive Producer Dan Ayoub told IGN: “During development we were really pleased with the way the engine and buffer allowed us to switch instantly between classic and Anniversary engines that are running simultaneously – however that, as you might expect, put a hit on resolution." "The campaign of Halo 2: Anniversary looked fantastic at 720p with the level of detail and clarity it gave us, but like every other aspect of the game and tech, we wanted to push it further. So in the last weeks of development, our teams were able to meet a stretch goal and the campaign of Halo 2: Anniversary now runs 60 fps at a crisp resolution of 1328x1080, which is a significant and meaningful boost in image quality we think fans are really going to appreciate. All of the other games across the entire package of The Master Chief Collection run 60 fps at 1920x1080 native.” So the final resolution for both the H2/H2A Campaign is 1328x1080p, and the rest of MCC runs at 1920x1080p native. Side Note: Dynamic Elements (like the stalactites of Lockdown) can be removed in Forge Before the resolution revelation IGN posted a few facts about The Master Chief Collection that were unknown at this point. Here's the near-full-letter quote of the list: There is no confirmation yet for Pre-Loading the MCC. Halo 3 and Halo 4 make use of the Xbox One controller's impulse triggers out of the box. Halo: CE and Halo 2 may have that functionality added in via a game update shortly after release. The Scorpion tank is in the Coagulation Anniversary remake, but you have to turn it on in Forge. In classic Halo 2 multiplayer, the Ghost's fuel tank could be shot, causing the Ghost to explode. This is also possible in the Halo 2-emulating Xbox One engine that runs the six Anniversary maps. 343i states - "We had to get Havok to recreate aspects of the original physics code used for Halo 2,". Halo: CE Anniversary's Kinect features are not supported in MCC. Halo: CE's multiplayer maps are the PC versions of the maps due to resolution, but their settings, such as spawn points, are set to make them play exactly as the original Xbox versions (i.e. the Banshee won't be on Blood Gulch). - - - - - - - - - - - - Thoughts? 18. Surprised this hasn't been posted here yet (from what I've seen at least). Walkthrough Gameplay Bloodline pays homage to one of the most iconic maps in Halo's existence, but it manages to bring the best of all iterations and add a bit of character we have yet to see from the simple "two bases in a box canyon" setup. Such features/changes include: Altered rock formations, pillars, and weapon placement Removal of Coagulation's lowest level, but maintains/adds more ways into each base Hornet (replacing the Banshee by default) spawns behind each base, similarly to Valhalla/Ragnarok Teleporters have been replaced by dual Man Cannons, also hearkening to Valhalla/Ragnarok New structure towards middle of map, labeled in the HUD as the "UNSC Training Base" Additions of new sandbox elements like the Gungoose, Suppressed SMG, and Assault Rifle Removal of Scorpion tank (although it can be added in Forge) The addition of two (presumably Forge-able) antennae that, upon activation, release an EMP that halts all vehicles within a certain radius of its respective base
  19. Hello All, Just was curious as to how many Halo 2 MultiPlayer games everyone has logged. Back in the day, when this game came out, I was newly married but no kids yet. I logged somewhere around 4,500 games on two different gamertags, unfortunately for me I changed my primary gamertag, and now that info doesn't transfer from Bungie's website :wallbash:to Waypoint, which stinks. Happy Posting MasterChiefMEAN OUT
  20. Hello! As you can tell from the title what the question is... the other day I was on Halo 2 (PC) and only like 15 other people were playing it! And it's starting to make me angry! Halo 2 is still one of my favorite Halos and I really want more people to come play it, so tell all of your friends to buy it! (Even though I know you wont LOLOLOLOLOL) Thanks, B055_71
  21. Halo 2: Anniversary Lockout Gameplay revealed for the first time! Watch the video of Lockout looking stunning! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iu7V3fqkcP8
  22. Lockout has been chosen as the 5th remastered map in Halo 2: Anniversary. Check out these captivating and stunning visuals in video form! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9w792cKmAqU
  23. What's up everyone! There's an idea that I thought and came up with last night. Maybe a lot of people already thought of it already but I've never seen it anywhere so I'll bring it up here for discussion. The idea is "Teabag Confirmed"! If you've played "Kill Confirmed" in Call of Duty, then perhaps you know right away what I'm talking about. In this case it should work for slayer and team slayer. You kill and then have to teabag the body in order to score for your team or yourself. The body however, will also be available for the other team to come and deny the confirmation (meaning if they walk up to the corpse, they've removen the possibility for the other team to score through teabagging the body). Denying the score through teabagging does not score for you, it only prevents the enemy team from scoring. Since walking over the body is all that takes to deny it, it shouldn't deserve score When you're playing free for all (regular slayer/rumble pit), The only one who should be able to score is the killer, and the only one able to deny the score should be the victim. Thereby the respawning should be in normal state. That was it. If I've missed anything or if you have other ideas for improvement, please leave a reply. Thank you!
  24. Man, it's good to be back here. You guys are probably as caught up as I am, so I'll make this quick. At E3, 343i confirmed that Halo 2 Anniversary "will be getting the full anniversary treatment" (notice the emphasis on "full"), so at first, we thought, "So they will do six remastered maps with a brand new engine and then have the classic and remastered versions of all of the maps, right?" WRONG!!! As it turns out, to my surprise, Halo 2: Anniversary IS the six remastered maps on a new engine: There is no retextured version! What kind of next generation experience is offered with only SIX?!?! That's not my point, not even close. The point is, that means that we can reexperience only six different locations, and the general poll question is... What are the six maps? Well Certain Affinity has confirmed Coagulation and Ascension, so that leaves four maps. Oh, and future people, I won't update this when others are announced, but the common I see is... > Ascension > Coagulation > Zanzibar > Lockout > Midship > Ivory Tower But the two main maps that I think that were EXTREMELY UNDERRATED in this case were Burial Mounds and Waterworks. Now, I played the hell out of Zanzibar and Lockout, so there is no need to remaster what is already in-date. So the list should go like this... > Ascension > Coagulation > Midship > Ivory Tower > Burial Mounds > Waterworks Yes, there is something attractively misleading about the title, but I've got nothing to write! No multiplayer statistics (courtesy of Bungie), nothing! Good thoughts, everyone!
  25. Which of the four Halo titles in the Master Chief Collection do you think will attract the most people? I am personally most excited for H2, and I will almost exclusively be on it. I have serious feelings of nostalgia for Halo 2 and all I want is to play ranked matches and do some custom glitching again. I have so many fond memories of the old days. I hope that the Halo 2 Anniversary Multiplayer stays nice and populated for a good long while. Can't wait.
