  1. The New and Improved Territories Bravo MLG came out with a video describing different strategies for the newly released Dominion game type. He gives a great description of how the game type works, and what you can do to win. Plus he gives us some more gameplay to watch. Enjoy the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qeaPe3ocPNw&list=UUq7AJTe2LVeTN_vanfZ5bkw&index=1&feature=plcp Video by: BravoMLG What strategies do you see being effective for this game type?
  2. It's time for Judgement. From: G4TV Posted by: Nicole Zivalich Morgan Web of G4TV got a chance to talk to Cliff Bleszinski, creator of Gears of War Franchise, about the up and coming Gears of War Judgement. The game, being the prequel to the Trilogy, focuses a lot more on the initial fear of the Locust. Rather than the second and third installment in the trilogy where Cole and Baird have "gotten use to" the Locust Hordes. Here is the interview http://www.g4tv.com/videos/60722/gears-of-war-judgment-multiplayer-preview/ -In the video Cliff talks about the story line that the newest gears installment is based around. -He also talks about the new "Overrun" Game mode (video Below). -New button controls that better suit a natural gameplay feel to the player. Such as grenades on left bumper and weapon swap with the Y button. -And best of all, in my opinion, the Free for All game mode. Now for some "Overrun" News. http://www.g4tv.com/videos/60127/gears-of-war-judgment-overrun-mode-preview/ Videos posted on G4TV The Feed This game mode reminds me of Halo Reach's Invasion. It will definitely be a great addition to the already popular video game. The choice of class and objective based gameplay looks like it will instantly be loved.
  3. Hi, I have watched a ton of videos on youtube and MLG and I cannot stress the importance of the sounds of the guns. It gives the game a more realistic approach to an already arcade-esque game. It gives the feel and gameplay more power if the guns actually sound destructive. Having said this there are a number of guns that just have a high powered staple gun sound to them. These include the battle rifle first and foremost. For some odd reason I get a plastic sound behind the gun. It could be just me, but it is possible to give a stronger bass to that gun being as it is a rifle. The second is the pistol. In Halo 1 and Halo 3 I thought they had the best sounds for the pistol. It felt like that single shot meant it hurt. The third is the shotgun. I am sorry but the shotgun really sounds like pebbles are thrown at a wall. I have talked to a number of people and they all agree that the guns just don't feel like they have an impact as they did to their counterparts. Please 343 Look and read this post. And if you are one of many that feel the same way please post your reactions as well. Thanks!!!!
  4. Shelter apocalypse is an awesome map made by me and my cousin, it has a custom infection gametype and really cool rooms to hide in, it is full of asthetics and gameplay elements to help balance the map, if your a human you ill always be on your toes and teamwork is the only chance at survival. the map has many ways for zombies to get in including doors, secret passages, and airducts! here are links to the map, game, pictures, a video walkthrough, and my gamertag. (please note that the airducts are to the right of the zombie spawn you will see an elevator, you must duck to get in but you can sprint in the airducts) made by: A Gunea Pig / A Jewish Yorkie map:http://halo.xbox.com...etails=30559587 game:http://halo.xbox.com...etails=30559590 pics:http://halo.xbox.com...s=&startIndex=0 video walkthrough of ALL weapons, entrances, secrets:http://halo.xbox.com...etails=30559594

  8. Imagine if you have never played halo before, you've always been a CoD/Battlefield man, and you are about to delve into the world of halo, it can be quite scary, but also quite a fun experience as you will notice while obviously the game is very different, it always to seem to have a competitive aspect, something that both CoD and BF lack in that respect. So lets get started, so again, imagine you've just bought halo reach, and you have never played any other Halo's before, and you are worried about what its gonna be like, if your going to suck at it or not, or if you will do well. 1. Play the Campaign. You'll be surprised how many people don't actully play the campaign and just go straight into multiplayer, this is never a good idea as if you don't know the weapons and how to use them, you will get ****** over quite badly. Now i understand that the Campaign in Halo reach probably isn't the best campaign ever, but it is quite good at letting you use every weapon (Sniper, DMR, AR, Etc) and letting u get good with it at your own progress, the campaign is pretty good for a new halo player, & can certainly help you a lot and make you much a better player, by the time you finished the campaign, you will be surprised how much better you are at the game already. 2. Play with Friends! (Campaign/Multiplayer) You'll be surprised how much friends make a difference in a game, as they can guide you in the right direction and try to tell you mistakes you make, and can overall can just make the game more fun and exciting, as you know you can have fun while playing. Instead of finding some super-serious Kids who think winning is the be-all and end-all, you can play with friends & have a much more fun and enjoyable time because, they will kind of let you learn at your own pace as you won't have people screaming down their mic "YOU SUCK! QUIT THE *Insert Language* GAME!* Im now going to Imagine you have finished the Campaign and have played a few multiplayer matches, and you are kind of experienced. 3. Play Team Slayer and stick with it for a bit. In my opinion, Team slayer is a nice way of getting up in skill levels and skill in general, because, in team slayer, there are a LOT of people who don't know what they are doing, bit like the person who is going to read this (presuming they are new) and will be in the EXACT same position as you, new, just got out of the campaign, and are ready to try their luck at multiplayer, i will talk about winning/losing next, but for now, just stick with team slayer and play it for a bit, until you have a good idea of what you are doing and are enjoying the game mostly, if you aren't enjoying the game, you mighyt as well not play it, because the #1 reason you play any game, is because you enjoy it, hell, if you don't enjoy something, don't do it simple as. 4. Don't worry about winning/losing The one thing that makes me mad in ANY game, is people's Ego's and the fact they think winning and losing is the be all and end all, because, in reach anyway, Winning and losing means **** all, as long as you are enjoying yourself and want to keep playing, that is good enough. As Day[9] would say: "GET YOUR EGO OUT OF THE F****** GAME!" don't go into a game thinking your going to be the best instantly, because, lets be honest, unless you are naturally talented at gaming, you are not going to be great at it instantly, just keep playing and ignore all the hate people will give you 5. Move Onto Other Playlists Im going to presume now you are doing Ok in team slayer, getting about 8+ kills, and dying a lot less then you were, lets say when its your first game of Team slayer, you are a better player already, so now you should move onto different playlists, whether is Team Objective, BTB, or Swat, any of them are good, just, again, as long as you are learning and enjoying yourself, for now, that is all that matters. I wouldn't recommend the following playlists until you are really good (i will explain why not to pick them in the next entry i do.) 1. MLG. 2. Team Snipers In Entry #2, i will be explaining about the DMR in great detail, why not to go into MLG and Team Snipers, as well as Positioning in certain maps and how to use a sniper effeicentally, i hope you enjoyed reading this, and i hope you can't wait for entry #2 (Will Be Done Every Wednesday & Sunday Until Told Different) Have fun in halo reach! 9. Hey guys, check out another gameplay from Homicide, part of Team Adaptive and The Impact Capital Gaming. He goes OFF in MLG CTF on Sanctuary with 28+ kills. Enjoy, like and sub!
  10. I'll start off by saying that I've been a fan of the franchise since Halo: Combat Evolved, and that I'm currently studying game design. These are my impressions of Halo 4 so far after spending roughly five or more hours snapping up every tid-bit of information on the net and from E3. I'm going to focus on the things I DON'T like, there are a lot of things I'm excited for about Halo 4 including Campaign, Spartan Ops, the fact that they brought the BR back into the sandbox, etc. Please realise that I'm writing this for the love of Halo. ARMOUR ABILITIES should be removed, or toned down. They slow down the gameplay too much, they imbalance the gameplay, they're unnecessary for a fun, engaging experience and most importantly they go against the core principle of halo gameplay, that everyone has the same abilities (when I say that, I'm talking about moving, shooting, reloading, jumping, etc.) and everyone starts off a match on equal footing. I'll go into a bit of detail about the new armour abilities and why I think they're unnecessary. -Promethean Vision, the radar is a classic Halo staple, and gives players everything they need in terms of player detection. Seeing through walls also focuses the player on visual detection too much and detracts from the simply awe inspiring sound engine that's been in every Halo. -Active Camo, not sure if this has actually made the cut or if it's coming back as a powerup from an ordnance drop, in which case I wouldn't have too many problems with it. But in it's armour ability form, active camo slows down gameplay A LOT, promotes camping and is activated too often, making radar redundant. -Hardlight Shield, for those that don't know is Halo 4's version of armour lock (what I like to think of as the spanner-in-the-works of Reach) and appears like a riot shield. It's much more toned down than armour lock however most of the same problems remain. It promotes defensive gameplay, ergo slowing down gameplay, and makes 2v1 situations (traditionally always an interesting dynamic where the underdog always has that chance for the double) untenable for the lone player. It is also far too useful in team situations where focus firing should be rewarded as an active component of gameplay and is instead punished by the press of one button. -Thrusterpack is implemented like a toned down version of evade from Halo: Reach. It detracts from the gameplay because it makes grenade placement and aiming redundant when combined with the new grenade indicator (just like the jetpack did in Reach) ergo slowing down gameplay, it promotes double bashing, it makes close combat weapons like the sword and the Promethean shotgun overpowered as players are able to rapidly close distance between targets, it makes escaping far too easy and thus promotes elusive playstyles, slowing down gameplay even more. -Hologram, from what I've seen it seems to be implemented the same as it was in Halo: Reach and the same problems remain, it doesn't really add anything to the gameplay as players will use it EVERY fight, it's possible for it to trick a skilled player but most of the time it's just a small irritant, therefore it's unnecessary. -Jetpack (I really hope this doesn't make the cut) it has all the same problems as thrusterpack with the added problem of having to make all maps abuse-proof and an unhealthy redundancy of power weapons like the rocket and sword. PERKS are not as bad as armour abilities, but still unnecessary. They also go against that main tenet of core halo gameplay. SPRINT, sprint is unnecessary because; 1. Halo has never needed sprint to produce dynamic, fast, fun and engaging gameplay. 2. It rewards players for playing elusively, thus slowing down gameplay. For example it makes the important positional gameplay of Halo 2 and 3 redundant because players can high tail it out of situations with sprint that they should really be punished for entering. 3. It makes close combat weapons like the sword overpowered. 4. It promotes double bashing. The RANKING AND EXPERIENCE SYSTEM of Halo: Reach that rewards mindless playing. I'm not against an exp system that gives unlocks and shows how much a player has played in a holistic sense, but I'm more of the mind that it NEEDS to take second place next to a WORTHWHILE RANK that accurately displays a player's LEVEL OF SKILL. RANKED PLAYLISTS should not be thrown in the same category as "social" playlists like the Arena in Halo: Reach. It should have it's own category to make it seem worthwhile and important and encourage players to try it out. This was one of the main reasons the Arena in Reach is a wasteland, along with the fact that the rank attained in the Arena isn't visible outside that playlist. If armour abilities, perks, loadouts and unlocks absolutely must be in Infinity Slayer, then so be it, but RANKED PLAYLISTS should NOT have these, they should remain a more pure, traditional halo experience that I'm confident 343 can deliver. BLOOM is another major element that ruined Halo; Reach for me, it introduced far too much luck. Rather than promoting skilful shooting as it was intended, it rewards players that spam the trigger and get lucky with the bullet-spread at the more common encounter ranges. From what I've seen and heard, bloom isn't as major an issue in Halo 4 as it was in Reach but I'd like to see it removed and have distance dps modifiers implemented in a different fashion. tl;dr To sum up, and continue, SUGGESTIONS FOR HALO 4. -Remove armour abilities from the game, if they must be in, give them a long cool-down, for example 60- seconds, so that they're only usable in every 4th or more encounter rather than every encounter. OR, simply have them in a separate playlist from everything else. -Remove Sprint, Bloom and Perks from the game. -Ranked playlists separate from "social", without armour abilities, perks, bloom and with fixed loadouts. -Ranks attained in ranked playlists that are worthwhile, accurate, and given a priority on a player's gamer card in-game. -Maps to bring back from the franchises' past (me faves) Guardian, The Pitt and Sanctuary. Although I love a lot more, there's no point listing everything. -A no-scope medal! Thanks for reading.
  11. Is it just a bug bug or is reach full of cheaters. I have recently come across allot of players with a really high rank, but when I look at their playtime it can sometimes say a day or even less and it also says they barely have any kills? I'm really confused any help?
  12. Am I the only one that wishes 343i would completely trash the new features that were in Reach and return to more of the Halo 3 and 2 type of gameplay? I feel like Bungie tried to appeal to the mainstream gamers and left the traditional Halo fans out. I hardly play Reach because I hate the armor abilities and the ranking system, and it took me a few months to get over the fact that they added custom loadouts. When I play Reach, i get the feel that I am playing a Call of Duty that is set in the future. I am hoping that 343i will at least take out the armor abilites and either go back to something like the Halo 3 equipment or don't have any equipment/armor ability at all; and that they will return the the Halo 3 ranking system that is actually based on skill rather than time spent playing that game, but I am afraid I am going to be disappointed. Sorry if this jumps around a little bit and seems more like a vent, but I have been wanting to put up a post like this for a long time (since a Halo 4 was made official) so I could get other people's opinions, but I just got around to making an account today.
  13. So, I have been spending the past few days making some halo videos, and have uploaded three to youtube so far. One of them is a short stand-alone machinima, and two are just your average gameplay videos. Here is a link to the youtube channel, from which you can find all of the videos. http://www.youtube.com/user/Daltominus?feature=mhee I hope everyone enjoys the videos. Great job to every single person ever involved in any of the halos, including the players. Without the amazing, loyal, and fun fanbase Halo has, Halo may as well be cod.
  14. Get rid of the reach engine(no class set ups and no perks unless they are placed in the maps) Bring halo back to the way it was in halo 2. Where you had a adventurous campaign, a real tight structured multiplayer, but also had the glitches in it for the private custom match "fun" play, and i personally wasnt the biggest fan of firefight....maybe if you would add more gametypes(obsticle course, warthog races, bomb defusions.etc). Also take a page from MW3 right now with the community playlist where they put the fun private gametypes into matchmaking. I would love to re-live the good days of halo with "tower of power", "hide and seek", and any other fun gametypes the players would come up with. Just a thought. Halo 2 was the funnest game in my opinion to play. Would love to experience that again since they shut halo 2 down for xbox live.
  15. Here are some issues That need to be fixed in CEA, Issue #1 : Frame rate issues, In some area's the frame rate is All Jittery & even in allot of combat with allot of enemies. Issue #2 : Delay in between each Jump Issue #3 : Audio Cuts out in between Cuts scenes & gameplay. With these issues Fixed, it would be problem Free.
  16. its about the top 10 nintendo 64 games check it out and tell me if its good or not http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBEv9ZOYgaU
  17. In many ways, Halo 4 will either commit the franchise to darkness and failure, or transform it into something the likes of which have never been seen in the history of gaming. As most people know, halo has pretty much been left in CoD's dust for a few obvious reasons. 1. The story of the game has remained the same for nearly 10 years 2. As have the weapons 3. The game-play has also remained equivalent to Halo CE when it was released in 2001. The thing that pisses me off the most is how people complain on the forums "we want the old halo back, like halo 2 and 3", as far as I'm concerned those people can go shove it and play halo 3. Seriously, if you want the same game-play as your old games, go play your old games! Games (like most things) change and evolve as time progresses. there is a reason for this, new breakthroughs allow innovation and real gamers get tired of playing the same damn multiplayer 6 games in a row. Take armor abilities for example, i hear so many people bich about them and frankly i don't know why. They are a well thought out addition to a franchise whose multiplayer was becoming far to monotonous. Now back to my initial point. As far as i am concerned (and i am pretty sure i will be proved correct in one year) Halo 4 either needs to go BIG, or go home. If the game releases in 2012 and is even remotely similar to halo 3 or reach, it will fail. the percentage of FPS gamers who primarily play halo has dropped exponentially over the years because everyone is going over to COD. Because, COD innovates, and when they do change up major aspects of the game, no one biches about it. In order for Halo to reverse this trend and begin regaining players rather than losing them, Halo 4 needs to land in the bulls eye! 1. The Story mode has to Knock you off your feet when you first play it. After 6 games fighting the covenant we need a totally new enemy. one who acts and reacts completely differently. 2. The campaign needs to have complete freedom of mobility (no kill zones or 5 feet of water that you cant swim in) sort of like sky rim, where any place you can see, you can walk, drive, or fly to. 3. The scenery needs to be COMPLETELY destructible for gods sake! its pathetic that the only items you can react with are boxes, propane tanks, a alien ostriches! Trees should be destroyed by rocket launchers, windows should be broken by plasma no matter what they are made of, grass should catch fire, walls knocked in by grenades, players head shotted by infrared sniper rifles when camping behind a Sheetrock wall! Come on, i cant be the only one with this opinion!? 4. We need more insight into master chief as a person. he is one of the most blank, emotionless characters in all of gaming history in one of the top games of all time. Some flash backs to his child hood would be a nice addition. 5. Game play needs to be completely free (reach did this fairly well). If you want to drive that car, you should be able to. wanna skydive of that cliff with your jet pack, by all means go for it. wanna go swimming, sure. 6. Halo 4 needs new weapons, badly. 10 years of firing a assault rifle or plasma rifle gets real boring. It also need different vehicles. Many of you may want to kill me after reading this, saying that i am a traitor to the franchise. But just think about it. If you loved halo 3 stop asking for it over again, go play halo 3. Stop getting stuck in past for gods sake. Open your minds to something new! Please deliver for us 343, we all need it, even if some of us don't know it yet....
