  1. Hi everyone! I've been playing Halo since it first came out (lan party days). Recently got into making forge maps in Halo 4 (don't have any ready for play yet), but would love to see how my job as a game level designer translates into making FPS maps. This looks like the perfect community to playing some cool maps and sharing some of my own. Also my xbox id is iJohn1, add me! Cheers!
  2. Greetings 343i Community forum! As we all know by now, Halo: The Master Chief Collection has had a terribly rocky launch and even to this day, over 4 months later, the game still suffers from numerous issues. Today I present to you the latest Halo movement: #FixMccCustoms. Matchmaking has finally had its chance to work as it should have after the latest update but since then, custom games and forge have still been left forgotten about with its own plethora of issues. This is not a complaint nor is it bashing towards 343 Industries, our only goal with this movement is to spread awareness to the public about the many issues relating to custom games and forge and to hopefully get them acknowledged and fixed by 343 Industries as soon as possible. Custom games and forge have been a very substantial part of Halo for many, many years and these issues in MCC basically render custom games virtually unplayable and the forge modes extremely difficult to work with. This is #FixMccCustoms Click here to view a public document which lists all known issues with custom games and forge If we want to help get custom games and forge to work as intended without issues in MCC as soon as possible, we all must do our part and pitch in to help get these issues acknowledged and fixed by 343 Industries. You may take the steps detailed in the video description but even simply sharing this video in any way possible helps a lot. The current state of custom games and forge is greatly hurting many great Halo communities and content creators. We need custom games and forge in MCC to be fixed as soon as possible! So far, a couple of well known Halo channels and even websites and blogs have started to pick up this movement and hopefully everybody everybody else can too! Sand/Snow in Halo 4 Forge Talented Forger RegrettedKarma came across some awesome content by the OnlineKnights that shows you how you can make it look like there's snow of sand on your map in Halo 4's Forge. Isn't that a nice image of Forged snow? Featured Map Nuclear Bombs in Halo 4 Here's a really unique idea for a map. It's based on a timer and after that timer is up a big flash appears on screen and everyone dies.. Which explains the name. It's really fun and has potential for a lot of mini games. This map was made by the member JooJoona and is better explained by him in his map submission thread. GAMING NEWS Meet Xbox One So if you haven't seen it yet I suggest you click the picture and check it out. It's a very cool video by Microsoft showing off the Kinect 2 features the Xbox One has and flaunts the Xbox One's agile ability to switch and snap functions with just your voice. Halo: Spartan Assault: Coming to Xbox 360 and Xbox One Great news! A lot of Halo fans have been waiting for this and it's been confirmed that this holiday season, Halo: Spartan Assault will be available for Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Prepare to drop.   4. Hey everyone I've been searching for a forger for quite some time to help me create a map on H2A for a machinima project of mine. I need help forging a forest. Something simple in a way, but there are some features that need to be incorporated into it. Basing off of my projects script, there needs to be a cave, but not one where you would enter and then there will need to be an area for a crash site as the main character crash lands into the forest.   5. On 4/16/15, B is for Bravo posted a status for Halo: Master Chief Collections Update. As well as other news for the community. You can view the original post on Halo Waypoint Over the past few weeks or so, 343's MCC teams have been working hard on the next Content Update, or CU, that will be released sometime next week. Date and time are not clarified as of yet, however it's going to be the next best thing right next to the February Update, allowing Matchmaking problems to be sorted out. Which turns to only have worked for many, more than everybody. They have not included all updates that will be applied, but there are a few that stand out to the Community. Some of them are good, some of them are bad. Additional penalties will be included in matchmaking. Making players focus more. Yes, 343 has decided to add in penalties for anybody who betrays and/or quits the game. Now, I am assuming these will be similar to along the lines of a mix between what Halo 3 and Halo: Reach did. Halo 3 was taking away EXP, or rank. Halo Reach temporarily banned you from matchmaking. The timer set at a minimum of 10 minutes. Which is where I get into the fun part. Ranks. Yes, 343 is rolling out the ranks! You know all those playlists that say "Unranked" with the description underneath the banner/image that reads. "Ranking Coming Soon"? Unfortunately, there's only one thing about this that they have said. It's nothing minor, but it's more of a safety precaution: "Shortly after the content update drops (we’re aiming for the next day or so), we’ll be resetting ranks for the Halo 2: Anniversary playlist, and also adding ranking to Team Slayer and the Halo Championship Series playlists. Over the following days, we’ll be monitoring results to ensure that everything is working properly before adding ranks to additional playlists." -B is for Bravo So yes, we'll be having to wait before additional playlists get ranks. But eventually they'll all finally get their ranks! Woot! Woot! Now, here's the fun part. Playlist rotation. Yep. Time to bring in the fun. SWAT is coming in! However this is the only playlist being rotated in, it will now be permanent, or a featured playlist as they call it. Last but not least, Halo 3's forge will be getting a little fix 'er upper. I'll let you read this part for yourselves: "With this same update, we’ll be bringing SWAT back as the featured playlist, this time with Halo 3 game types included, as the April CU will also bring with it some additional fixes to allow for Halo 3 map / game type integration into new and existing playlists. This also means that over the next few updates, you can expect more non-default Halo 3 maps and game types to make their way into matchmaking." -B is for Bravo That's all I got for you guys.   7. Some of you may have heard of the Forgehub contest for a 1v1 map in Halo 2 Anniversary. The prizes being $500, a $300 gaming headset, or $100 gaming glasses. But that contest is already over. Well I had an absolutely spectacular idea. However, I am neither experienced nor dedicated at Forge, but I do not want this idea to go to waste. I am reluctant to share everything about the map, but I will say a few things. It has some interesting dynamics that could totally work in Halo 2 Anniversary, but that I've never seen in any other maps before. I did test this dynamic to see if it would work, and alas, it did, exactly to my expectations. The aesthetic for the canvas I wanted to use fit perfectly as well. If you are a forger who has made several (being more than two I suppose) decent maps, contact me on Xbox Live @ Furi0usGeorgeX and let me see some of the maps you've made. If I like them, both aesthetically and in terms of map design, I will share the plans I made for the map with you, and trust you to build the map of my dreams.   9. Halo 2: Anniversary Forge As part of IGN first, 343i shows us how Forge will work in Halo 2 on their new 'Forge World'. We will start off with a huge blank canvas, everything you see around you is part of the skybox so you can do everything you want to do. Place huge slabs of terrain to create an island to work on, go place some trees and rocks to make it look more natural. Once you go in to player mode everything will connect with eachother almost seamlessly. As an example we get to see an entire map as large a Coagulation forged by one of the dev's to show us what we all can do when we get out hands on. You'll be able to place interactive elements on the map. Like the EMP which is also featured in Coagulation, switches like we saw in Zenith and interactive doors activated by consoles like we saw in Stonetown. And yes the "Blue screen of death" appears on them when activated like in the original Zanzibar console. But it doesn't stop there! Using the consoles you can also spawn in set items in Player mode. From as small as a bridge to entire race tracks. Get creative! What's also worth pointing out is that we get a glimpse of Beaver Creek that the dev's forged in. Didn't your favourite map get remade? The m181 main battle tank is outdated,I think that instead of the 4 sets of treads it should be two in the front on the sides that stuck forward out from the body and one in the back as there is on the think tank, and keep the main body. This week make it look more like a scorpion as it's called. Forge should allow the placement and piloting of all vehicles including pelicans and phantoms. Comment your ideas below.
  11. I was thinking that there could be bigger, beyter vehicles in Forge to enhance gameplay and building. Here are some of my ideas, what do you think? I know most if not all of these won't even be in Halo 5, but it's a cool idea.

  13. Today, it was confirmed that Crossfire, and Trench from the Halo 5 Beta are INDEED Forge created maps on the same palette (Forge World like maps like Awash, or Impact). Crossfire is pictured above... YEAH THAT'S A FORGE MAP!!! Though I already had my suspicions. Which brings me to my next points on Forge, and Maps in general. Josh Holmes, in an interview with IGN's Ryan McCaffrey, states: Improvements to usability in Forge have been made as well as providing multiple palettes, terrain sheets, and lighting set-ups for Forgers to utilize. He indicates that there are no more plans to make more "classic" map remakes like Truth, which could mean they already have, but just stopped. Map Remixes, like Regret, and Eden, are variants of the original map that have changed geometry, flow, weapon layout, and time of day. On the topic of feedback Josh responded with, “We’re excited to be releasing this beta almost a year before the release of the game. While this is the earliest that we've done a beta and things are in a less polished state than they would be if we were releasing closer to launch, it’s important to us to get the game into the hands of fans while we still have the time to react to feedback. The input that we receive from the community will feed into our remaining development and help us to achieve our goal of making Halo 5: Guardians the best multiplayer shooter on consoles when we launch in 2015.” He continued, "We’ll be carefully considering all sorts of feedback including weapon tuning, balance for the new Spartan abilities, weapon placement on maps, audio mix, and much more. We encourage all participants in the beta to go to halowaypoint.com and sign up for our community feedback program. In addition we’ll also be paying close attention to the various community forums and social media and we appreciate people taking the time to share their impressions.” Lastly, Holmes confirmed that there will not be another Multiplayer Beta, and stated that 343i will discuss the remainder of the multiplayer suite later this year, including larger, more vehicle-focused experiences. On a side note, the Halo 5 Beta will soon be receiving a vote between being able to play on one of the two new Forge created maps (both are in the same palette): Pegasus, or Orion. For those of you who love forging Zombie invested landscapes or feel like it is time for you to take a stab at creating a brain sucking nightmare we challenge you to bring our worst dreams to life with the living dead! This will be a forge contest based on Forgers are required to use the Every map must be suitable for play with 10-12 players per game. We encourage you to test your maps before you submission to the contest. You are only allowed to submit one map per forger or forge team. You may forge with a partner, but only one prize per map will be offered.   15. So Far Cry 3 is Just Around The Corner And It Looks Sweet Far Cry is not a game that I've ever gotten into, but this review suddenly makes me want to. Our very own, The Halo Forge Epidemic, has done a stunning review for this up and coming game. They did the review because they are technically a "gaming" channel so they fall under all gaming categories. But they also fit well with this game because of it's stunning FORGE EDITOR!   16. Hey guys, I was thinking, why not adding a mission editor? Halo 2 anniversary forge had everything to do with triggers and awesome natural stuff, so why not making it possible to make single player and co-op missions by adding enemy spawners? There's nearly nothing more to implent, yes, there should be an objective or some more, but enemy spawners which can be triggered and objectives shouldnt be that hard right? And I think that everybody would love it Plz tell me if you guys like the idea ;D
  17. :[ *Warning* This Post Will Be Very Long ]: First off i would like to ask for no trolling, no hating and no going out of your way to make someone look stupid. This thread is for halo 5 Ideas no matter how good or bad they are. Fill free to post any ideas you have. [Weapons & Equipment]: I would love to see them add all the halo weapons to halo 5. If not be able to choose what skin it has so you can say make a Storm rifle look like a Plasma Rifle. Also choose able plasma colors like with the Brute Plasma Rifles and the Elite Plasma Rifles. As well as new ones. If all the weapons would be added back some would need to be changed to make them more usable. *Focus Rifle* I think this should come back as a anti-vehicle weapon. Where it would do very high damage to vehicles but low damage to infantry. Another way I could see this is take away its x10 zoom and have it as a medium to long range rifle instead of being a long to very long sniper (I never once saw this used as a sniper in matchmaking.). *Brute Shot* I think this should have a one shot melee kill, 4 round clip (like halo 2) and do high damage to infantry and low damage to vehicles. *Concussion Rifle* High damage to light vehicles and be able to flip them, low damage to infantry with Knock back and medium damage to heavy vehicles. *Duel Wield* This need to come back I heard they were going to add it in halo 4 but they couldn't get it to work. Never the less it needs to make a come back even if its something you add for a custom load outs. *Bolt shot* Okay I have not used this since it got nerfed so I don't know how it works now. I think it needs to work in this way. Charged shot only knocks down shields or kill you if you have no shields with a overheat 2 sec cooldown. Single fire would do the less damage but higher rate of fire then magnum. *SMG* Duel-wield able and higher rate of fire then the AR and a 60 round clip with spread. (like halo 3) *ODST SMG* same as the SMG but nonduel-wield able and with zoom. *Mauler* Duel-wield able and two shots would do the same damage as one UNSC shotgun shot. *Plasma Rifle* Same as SMG but with all plasma weapons it would knock down the shields faster then the SMG but health slower. *Bring back the halo 3 equipment in ether loadouts or get them on the battlefield. You would have equipment and armor abilites. *NO MORE CUSTOM LOADOUTS* I would like to see halo reach loadout setup back. I don't like custom loadout but I wouldn't mind to much if they stayed. I just fell halo is more about finding your weapon on the field then spawning with it. Leave in being able to see power weapons on your hud. Its not fair to players who have never played on a map that other player have played on and know where all the power weapons are. *LEAVE IN ORDNANCE* I LOVE THIS ABOUT HALO 4. This is why, I am bad with a sniper. Not because I'm bad at the game but because I don't get to use it that much. Ever since Halo 4 ive gotten batter at sniping in all the Halos. ordnance gives players a chance to use a weapon and get used to it with out taking the weapon away from the players that are good with it. Before think you think just play team snipers. Think about this if you rarely use a weapon it wouldn't be fair to you if you are playing against players who always use that weapon. Some weapons you would see in campaign, firefight and custom games but wouldn't see them in Match making. [Forge & Theater modes]: *Bring back Forge world and sandbox. *Add in a new map thats FLAT with nothing on it and by this I mean something like the flat world in minecraft (NOT LIKE FORGE ISLAND). Here you would beable to place anything in the game any building, rock, mountain, ect... *Holo Mode* Okay this is what holo mode is. When you place a item (Say a Bunker box) in the ground and have it so the door is facing away you can toggle holo mode. Which would allow you to go into the item even though its in the ground. *Despawn timers* So you can make a item despawn in game. Would be fun having to run to a skull before the floor drops under you. *Toggle movement* This would let a item move in a set path or directions that you set in forge. *Firefight forge* *NPC Spawn* Not just for firefight forge but you could add them for any gametpye. *MORE items in forge* *Bring back things that where taken out in reach and halo 3 for forge* *Add things like computers and trash cans* *Changeable skins* so you can change items to look like items for Brutes, UNSC, Forerunner, Covenant, Flood and Maybe a new race >.> <,< >.> *Weather control* so you can change Day/night, rainy, snow, foggy, sandstorm and lightning. *Changable landscape* so you can change from sand, snow, grass, swamp, AND SPACE ! *LEAVE IN GREENSCREENS* *Traits on weapons* This would let you set traits to weapons in forge mode so you can have one say AR that does more damage to another AR. [Being able to make your own campaign]: *Addable Voice to Theater Mode* *Addable effects to Theater Mode* *Forge able triggers* A triggers is something you can put in in forge and it will trigger a cutscene you make in Theater Mode. *Multi Maps* After you do one thing in a map like act activate a trigger it will load the next map. [Custom games & gametpyes]: FIRST OFF FOR THIS I WOULD LIKE TO SAY.... I do not want multiplayer to have a story to it a reason why spartans are fighting spartan. I just dont want it to be on the same story as the campaign. I was told thats why they took elites out of multiplayer. *Other playerable Race* I wanna be able to choose my race no matter the same tpye from Flood, Brute, Elite, Spartan, Prometheans and the forerunner like the Didact. *Playable grunts vs marines For Invasion* Bring back games tpye that were taken out like invasion and race. *No more Custom loadout in MM* *Firefight* *Flood Firefight* Return of Coagulation. [*More gametpye options*]: here are some Increase/Decrease Weapon damage for each weapon and not just the play. Increase/Decrease how much ammo you can have in your weapon and how much ammo for that weapon you can hold. Toggle health. In halo Reach and Halo CE you could toggle shields but not health. Toggle drop flag Toggle have pistol with flag or i would also like to beable to change the pistol to any one-handed weapon EVEN A SWORD. Toggle throw Skull/bomb Changable Cool down/over heat on vehicles weapons [Vehicles]: I would like to see all the vehicles back and each race have there own verson of that vehicle as well as new ones also a flood skin for each one and changable camo skins for them. For Example: Spectre/Prowler/Warthog Also idea for a new Vehicle it was something i saw in halo custom edition a motorcycle with 2 chain guns mounted on it it would be the UNSCs Ghost. [Campaign & Story]: Lot of People want cortana back I being one of them. They could bring her back as a ghost that only chief can see I say this because she was made with human DNA. Now if they didn't bring her back i wouldn't be all OMFGWTF BBFQ WHY I HATE YOU no i wouldn't do that. >.> <,< >.> MORE STORY IN THE GAME for one thing I didn't know why I was attacking my once found ally and the only way to find this info is in a easteregg... This was a bad move. Also there was almost no story in the gameplay all of it was in the cutscenes that needs to change in halo 5. After halo 6 I would still like game with chief in it at some point. Also I would like other halo games with other Heros like I wanna know if noble 6 died or if something happened in a split second. More halo ODST games and halo games based off of the books would be fun. More spartan ops in halo 5 and more story to it yeah I know season 2 isnt out yet. Also i want it to fell more like the campaign but where its MY Spartans story. Lastly we don't know what the xbox 720 is gonna be like so halo can change alot because of it some of the thing 343 wanted to do they couldn't because of the 360 I will be adding more to this and I would like if YOU add your ideas as well. Oh How could I forget The arbiter and a playable elite campaign.

Rather than the usual skill based clans with strict structure, HFK is more about promoting creativity as well as a fun and friendly gaming environment. Graphic Designer- If you are any good at logos, title screens and anything of that nature this is the role for you. Writer- Ever had an idea for a really great video that you've never had the opportunity to make? Lay it on us and we'll see to it that your idea is formulated, scripted, and produced as close to your vision as possible Video Editor- If you can capture and edit video really well you could be an editor for our videos Set Designer- if you are good at making smooth and scenic forge maps in Halo this is your role ​As for the Community Roles: Forger- make fun and interesting maps and gametypes for our custom game nights Recruiter- I want YOU to find us some awesome people who would like to join HFK Host/Hostess- Create a lobby for our custom games to take place as well as manage the maps and gametypes we have Player- Hey not everybody has to wear the pants in our clan. If you came just to experience a fun time in an active Halo MCC customs lobby then by all means kick back and hang out with us ​In short there's really no limit to what you can do in HFK. Members are not bound by their roles and can switch between them freely as needed. We only ask that you abide by the golden rules. The Golden Rules In general HFLiKz is not a very strict clan by any means, but without some rules in place chaos would ensue. They are: Be Respectful- That doesn't mean no cursing or sexual jokes, just keep it on a friendly level at all times, No discrimination by any means including race, religion, gender, sexual preference ect. Don't Make a Promise You Can't Keep- This refers more to the video production side of things but if you make a commitment to something say a role of a character in voice acting make sure you are able to actively perform your role. If any complications arise due to real life situations or anything like that please contact your Director or Bajeeezus on Xbox Live Don't Start Fights- Continuing off from the first rule don't start conflict with others outside of the clan. Teabagging and shooting dead bodies is fine but don't go trash talking other clans and players needlessly or challenging them to matches that require other members that are not in your lobby.   19. The new forge that is available in Halo 2 Anniversary is quite remarkable. A new feature, known as Movement Snap, will revolutionize the way we forge. Movement Snap combines the ethics of Coordinate Forge and Magnet Forge. As a result, the forging process is a lot quicker. Because of this, and the 650 piece budget, forge maps are becoming a lot larger than before. It was only a matter of time before Hybrid maps boomed... Hybrid maps: "What are they?", you might ask. Hybrid maps are, at the core, large competitive arena maps. They start out as small arenas, and then you build on them with Big Team Battle essentials. These Hybrid maps may feature vehicles, balanced weapons and spawns, and diverse map control. Because of their size, a two-players-against-one scenario is unlikely, unless you enjoy standing out in the open. I would consider Halo 4's "Complex" to be the first great Hybrid map. Hybrid maps are not for everyone, and it shows with the reception of Halo 4's multiplayer modes. So what is the difference between a Big Team map and a Hybrid map? Well, a very difficult question to ask with an easy answer. Let's take a look at Halo 2's "Coagulation". For the most part, the open area is the center of the action, and is equidistant from the bounds. Notice how the open area can surround the base, and yet the base is very close-quarters on the inside. Hybrid maps, on the other hand, use open areas passively. The center of the action is in the close quarters arena setting. Another look at "Complex", shall we fancy? Players gravitate AWAY from the open grass and to the structure, while in "Coagulation", Players gravitate TOWARDS the open mounds. Right now, I am working a new Hybrid. I started by trying to combine the symmetrical halves of two symmetrical arena maps of mine: "Breachport" from Halo: Reach, and "New Pacific" from Halo 4. I ended up adding a new floor on the bottom that not only connects the two halves, but creates an outer ring that goes around the map. It was on this floor that I decided that I should add a couple vehicles, and at that very moment, it became a Hybrid map. I don't believe I'm only one expanding on my old maps: There are many cartographers who stuck around to witness and become inspired by Halo 4's method. With Halo 2 Anniversary's lack of sprint, and the subjective of an Assault Rifle as a power weapon, I think this style of map design will warrant many players less "Headcase" medals. It is a good time to be a cartographer.

  21. Hello everyone, I am Bits n' Pieces, also known as The Dumb Weasel! And I would like to officially announce my new forge project... This project is a one man project, and I plan on bringing some well known Game Cube maps into the Halo world. I also made a small video about it! (It's like... Not very good, I've not taken a film class yet. But hey, I tried.) Along with a quick build of.. Well... You'll see it when you watch it. The map is out as a demo for now, and I'm currently working on what game types they will be compatible with.   24. First of all, 343 did an amazing job with forge in the MCC. It looks like it is going to be the best in the series, but there is a problem I have with it. Why is there no Spectre? This was the vehicle unique to Halo 2, yet it is not in the forge mode. They add a lot of new vehicles but drop the Spectre for some reason. I do like the new ones, but why drop the Spectre? It is in the remastered campaign, right ? Why not just put it in forge? Secondly, since you guys did add new vehicles to forge alongside new weapon variants such as the survivor weapons why not add all the vehicles and guns from every Halo game and put it into one forge? I do realize this will be a very long and difficult task but I would pay $10 for a DLC that simply put all weapons and vehicles into the forge palette. I'm not talking about the scarab and Pelican but, vehicles like the ROCKET HOG, Chopper, Prowler, Mantis, Revenant, Etc. Stuff the player was able to use in the multiplayer. I seriously miss the Falcon from Reach. They should just put everything into one forge, rather than have multiple forges as it is very annoying not having something in one but not the other. ALso add the fuel rod shade Turret and grenade launcher falcon from reach as there could be some interesting gameplay with those. Weapons from other games would be nice even if they are hard to balance perfectly. I mean adding other weapons into forge is not a big deal as it is just player creations and custom games and does not affect online multiplayer and any other maps. It would add a lot more diversity and satisfy many people. It would be nice to have the flame thrower, Grenade launcher, sticky detonator, plasma launcher, Flame thrower, needle rifle, SAW, and Promeathean weapons, etc. to return into Forge. The target designator from reach can also be added. I really do not care if the missiles come from no where, it is still brings interesting gameplay. As I said weapons do not need to be that balanced in Forge, as it is for the players to decide what to do. I would think this is the perfect forge if they added all of this as it would bring the best of all the forges. Throw in Forge World from Reach and some more custom game options like the ability to throw oddballs in Halo 4 and I would gladly pay $25 is if this was DLC.
  25. Halo 2: Anniversary Forge As part of IGN first, 343i shows us how Forge will work in Halo 2 on their new 'Forge World'. We will start off with a huge blank canvas, everything you see around you is part of the skybox so you can do everything you want to do. Place huge slabs of terrain to create an island to work on, go place some trees and rocks to make it look more natural. Once you go in to player mode everything will connect with eachother almost seamlessly. As an example we get to see an entire map as large a Coagulation forged by one of the dev's to show us what we all can do when we get out hands on. You'll be able to place interactive elements on the map. Like the EMP which is also featured in Coagulation, switches like we saw in Zenith and interactive doors activated by consoles like we saw in Stonetown. And yes the "Blue screen of death" appears on them when activated like in the original Zanzibar console. But it doesn't stop there! Using the consoles you can also spawn in set items in Player mode. From as small as a bridge to entire race tracks. Get creative! What's also worth pointing out is that we get a glimpse of Beaver Creek that the dev's forged in. Didn't your favourite map get remade?
