3. LAKE PLACID Download Link Lake Placid is set within the ravine on "Ravine." The idea is this. The entire middle area of the map is a lake. Along the cliff sides there are many different paths that you can take to get yourself up and away from the waters edge. The reason that you want to do this is because most of the flood's re-spawn points are deep below the "surface" of the lake. They will continue to float up and attack from beneath your feet as long as you are swimming around. They also have thruster packs. So they can shoot themselves through the "water" very quickly. If you are worried that this map might be unbalanced, or that there may be some impregnable hold out locations, don't be. I have spent countless days and weeks making sure that there are many different paths to every single spot on the map. It has been tested many times. Many of the routes out of the lake are easier, or exclusively possible for the flood. (due to their increased jump height) Elevating yourself will help, but you are never going to be anywhere near Safe. Especially if you are dealing with some quick thinking Flood... I have had a ton of fun testing out this map. It really creates the fear of having something deadly swimming around beneath your feet, and the rush of having to pull yourself out onto the dock seconds before the alligator, shark, or whatever else gets a hold of your ankle. If you are a fan of Jaws, Lake Placid, Anaconda, or any other water related horror movies, you are going to like this map.

 5. Hello everyone! New member here who's been quietly forging away on his lonesome for the past couple of months. Just found this site and I figured I should get to know the rest of the Forging Community! so to start off my time here, I thought I'd share my most recent creation for you all to look over and pass judgement on, called Outpost 17: Map Name: Outpost 17 File Share: Outpost 17 File Share Gamertag: RECEPTOR 17 Canvas Map: Forge Island Last Updated: 05-18-2013 Tags: Forge Island, Slayer, FFA, CTF, KOTH, Regicide, Flood, Oddball, Outpost 17, BTB, RECEPTOR 17 Supported Gametypes: Team Slayer, BTB, Slayer FFA, Oddball, Capture the Flag, Flood, Regicide, King of the Hill Best Gametypes: Team Slayer, Capture the Flag, King of the Hill, Regicide Intended Team Sizes: 5v5, 6v6 + 8v8 Initial Ordnance: 1x Scattershot (180 Respawn) 1x Beam Rifle (210 Respawn) 1x Rocket Launcher (210 Respawn) 4x Pulse Grenade (90 Respawn) 2x SAW (150 Respawn) 1x Sticky Detonator (180 Respawn) 1x Concussion Rifle (180 Respawn) 2x Frag Grenade (90 Repsawn) 2x Plasma Grenade (90 Respawn) 1x Energy Sword (200 Respawn) 1x Railgun (180 Respawn) Random Ordnance: N/A Armor Abilities/Powerups on the Map: N/A Supported Vehicles: 4x Mongoose: 2 per team (120 Respawn) 2x Warthogs, Chaingun: 1 per team (160 Respawn) 1x Ghost: Middle of map (160 Respawn) Budget: 9680/10000 Screenshots: Map Flythrough/Overview Link: Outpost 17 Runthrough Map Description: The 17th creation made by Infinity’s Wargames simulations team, with added input from S-IV Fireteams “Trident” and “Crossbow”. This is a medium to large inversely symmetrical map on Forge Island's largest "Great Anvil, designed primarily for Team Slayer and Capture the Flag, however Flood, King of the Hill (with multiple Hills), Oddball, Infinity Rumble and Regicide are also supported. It can play anything from 2-8 players per team, but works best in a 5v5 - 8v8 range, due to the size and scope of the map. You have the chance to play some close quarters combat in the centre and inside Red and Blue Teams' starting bases, or you can enjoy some long range battles utilising the verticality of the map and some of the more open areas, where Vehicles roam free to cause mayhem. *+*+*+* So, there you have it folks, please do provide any constructive criticism/comments on Outpost 17, all are welcomed! I have 2 other Maps ready to submit another time, so I'm not spamming you with my creations, one is a small close combat oriented map designed for 4v4 Slayer, Rumble, Regicide and Oddball, whilst the other is designed for CTF, BTB and KOTH once again. I also have one arena style map in the works too which I hope to complete soon! Thanks for reading! 17 Out.

 8. I enjoyed Silentium. Very good book, and very suspenseful as well. However, I felt it left some loose ends, and left many questions still unanswered. The whole Path Kethona thing felt detached from the storyline. How did that settlement of Forerunners get there? Whats the deal with all the empty Forerunner fleets and Precursor mumbo-jumbo? What exactly is that anchor thing, what is its purpose, and why is it there? But the biggest question still in my mind is: Where did the Forerunners go??? Was every single one of them consumed by the Flood or Halo? Or did some manage to get away? Did some possibly go live with the other Forerunners in Path Kethona? Maybe its just me, but I still feel empty as far as the Flood, Forerunners, Precursors, etc. I hope either Halo 5 and 6 cover this, or maybe more books will be released. Who knows? Maybe Infinity travels to Path Kethona and finds the Forerunner settlement? Oh and PS: Wasn't Infinity assembled in Path Kethona?? If so, why didn't the UNSC see any Forerunner or Precursor shenanigans such as empty ships and star roads?

 10. Map: Our Daily Bread Gametype: Hungry Disciples Description: Our Daily Bread is a linear Flood map set in a bread factory with two holdouts. Players spawn in a low set hall surrounded by walkways. The Flood instantly attack you from behind, then from the front. Push up the stairs and through the corridor before they can overrun you and make your way towards the first holdout; a huge atrium. Find a turret and a few shotguns and set up until the 1:30 mark. The Flood can attack from many angles, using the old conveyors high above the atrium and the strategically placed cover. If you survive until the door opens, push forward and aim for the final holdout. Staying strong right from the start is truly game changing. If you loose even one or two players early on, you will have a very hard time making it past the first holdout. But if you stick together, you just might reach the bountiful loafs you have been searching for. Our Daily Bread really is a very fun map to play with clean yet interesting aesthetics. It has dynamic features and a clear goal that promotes teamwork and coordination which is what I believe makes a great linear Flood map. I hope you enjoy it! Thanks for taking a look.
 11. I'll be brief. Sort of. Infection has been a staple since Halo 2. In Halo 4, it still garners a significant following--around 3,000 players on average. That's a lot of mouths to feed. Some people say it's nothing compared to the 37,000 it had at launch, but the numbers have stayed consistent after the dropout several weeks after the game's release. Right now, my opinion of the Flood playlist is not good. There are only a few maps in circulation; the players have memorized the camping spots, causing predictable rounds; the rounds are incredibly fast and don't have structure. We need an update for Flood. Here are my suggestions: -Set the number of players to 10-12. I'm not sure what it's at right now, but fewer players in each match will make it playable for a variety of game types. Speaking of which... -We need more game types. The current playlist has only the one with Flood shooting across the map with Thruster Packs and humans shooting across the map with Shotguns and Magnums. Have some variety! It's amazing what the community has come up with this time around. There are dozens of game types to change it up: Phagion, Necrosis, even Slenderman. Most people never get to play these awesome creations because it's too much of hassle to set up game nights, or maybe they don't want to play Flood in the first place because it's too monotonous. Speaking of monotonous... -Currently there are only eight maps in rotation for Flood: Solace, Adrift, Complex, Haven, Abandon, Landfall, Daybreak, and Perdition. Of those eight, most will only be able to play on the first five because the last three are DLC. Of those five, only Adrift and Abandon have the right ambiance for the game type. None of these maps is tailored specifically for Flood. Here's where the community comes in: there are dozens of solid Flood maps with outstanding aesthetics and balanced game play. To name a few: Shroom Plague, set above the acid pool on Erosion; Lone Spirit Pass, an excellent holdout-style map set on the beautiful Forge Island; Emerald Mine, a derelict mining colony gone horribly wrong. Other playlists get biweekly updates. Look at Team Throwdown; it's received the most attention out of all the playlists, yet it only attracts 650 players on average, significantly less than Flood. We need an update. Comment what you think, and don't forget to vote. Links: Shroom Plague -- ; Lone Spirit Pass -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKGknnSykvg ; Emerald Mine --
 12. Now, here me out. Though I fully believe that all remnants of Precursor technology are gone in this galaxy - this being the Halo fictitious one - wouldn't there be Precursor remains in the other galaxy the Librarian traveled too? It is mentioned she traveled to this other galaxy, saw 'star roads' and some other Precursor artifacts, along with ancient forerunner warships. Now onto my more pressing question. What if in the next few installments of the Halo games series, the flood returns - being precursors - and regains the use of their old neural physics technology? That would be a sight to see. The books described the creation of 'star roads' so vividly, I would love to see how they would make that on screen. Any thoughts? What would you guys think about them bringing in Precursor technology and giving the flood the use of it? Would it make the flood seem more mysterious, dark, ancient, incomprehensible? A more formidable enemy perhaps? Would it make for better games - in terms of campaign missions - ? Post away!!
 13. Ever since Halo CE I have been interested in these Galactic scale Genocidal Weapons. Though to anyone who played Halo and enjoyed the campaign did I guess. Though even after reading all the books and learing all the lore I could since I started playing Halo CE, the workings of the rings kill everything mode still escape me. We know that they destroy the Flood by starving them, as well as destroying all Flood within range, this being explained this in game. But they have never shown this happen. Except for one small scene in one terminal of Halo CEA of a lizards arm dissolving. But that raised more questions than answers. It looked like the trees in the background were not harmed at all. That made me think of Cortana in Halo CE when she said it destroys all sentient life large enough to sustain the flood. But in games like Halo 2 and Halo Wars you can see Trees being consumed by the Flood for biomass. I always liked to believe that the rings sent out a huge pulse of radiation in the form of Hardlight that the Forerunners use so much that just burns every organic cell it touches leaving crispy blackened sterile planets. Does anyone know if this is correct or total crap that Im talking about here?

 17. Can anyone please give me some advice on how to get weapons on map to spawn in flood mode. Some of my favorite games were maps that started off with small weapons for the spartans and would eventually lead you to stockpiles of bigger, better weapons. This was obiously to compensate for more people being infected by that point and gave the remaining humans a kick *** time mowing down the infected. I don't want to just start the humans off with the good weapons as it would not feel like they've earned it by making it that far in. I would like them to survive when there are lots of infected so spawning with just small weapons won't give them much of a chance. Because the mode i've been using is the flood are really strong but fairly slow. It's also with visual effects and placed underwater so it looks like thick fog/smog. LIKE SILENT HILL!! I've tried labeling the weapons to flood but to no avail, is there something i'm missing out? I have made weapons on map 'default' in the flood custom game options, it's really buggign me. Anyone out there having issues like this? Anyone got any thought? I'm determined to get to the bottom of this Thanks, much appreciated.
 18. This is a map I (Sequential Urge) made with the help of my brother GoldenWaffle21, It is a cool flood map were the humans can choose either a bolt shot, magnum, or suppressor class, and are trying to avoid the (mostly invisible) zombies with promethean vision. It is made using the Underwater canvas that was provided by OAKLEY HIDEF because we were unable to do the glitch. I also have other maps that are in the Beta stage including a almost exact remake of Speed from halo reach created by DARTH HUMAN. I will upload them soon. Map variant: Jason Game Type: Slender SITW Gamertag: Sequential Urge
 19. Gamertag: Elite X17 Map Name: Acidified Gametype: Acidic Describtion: A decolate science facility has been over run by Flood. Humans must take the high ground avioding the acid pit and survive! The map features a player trait zone that decays health while players are in the acid. For use with 8 - 16 players. Optimum gameplay is with the "Acidic" gaametype. Flood have the advantage at first, so it is the humans goal to gain to the high ground and survive. Enjoy...

Download Custom Gametype Here: http://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/games/halo4/fileshare/details/a5362ae5-54fb-488f-8c52-0ad73ab252f9 Description: Sure, Crazy Taxi was released in that Dreamcast collection, but that was an awful release that stripped the game of its music. Who didn't want to crank up "All I Want" by the Offspring?? So I thought it'd be fun to recreate a West Coast area for us to drive around like a madman, delivering customers--very slow humans--to Invulnerable spots that'll protect 'em from the Flood. But I didn't stop there. I went ahead and made Slayer and Capture the Flag versions of the map too, because it just looks so nice, well, to me anyways. Those two modes will grant each team of 8 or less a Mongoose, a Warthog, and a Ghost each with a neutral Mantis. RULES: for Crrraaaaaaaaaaaaaaazy Taxi!!! The gametype is Flood. There are Trait Zones on this map that make Humans invulnerable, but Humans can only move at half speed. One human, who begins next to a warthog, picks up Humans and delivers them to the Trait Zones that make them invulnerable so they can survive the outbreak. These trait zones are only large enough for ONE Human each, so you must take customers to alternate Trait Zones. ### IMPORTANT NOTE: The invulnerable spots are marked by Grenade Ordnances ########## So: Goal of Humans: Survive. Goal of Cabbie: Deliver as many humans as possible to the Trait Zone spots (marked by Grenade Ordnances) that offer Invulnerability. Goal of Flood: Kill as many humans as possible before time runs out, as the Cabbie saves Humans. This took no shortage of creativity, so if any questions about the gameplay arise, please feel free to inquire and I will explain appropriately. Let's have a look already! Hey, Alfred Hitchcock fans--do you recognize this schoolhouse?

Map: Deflect Gametype: Deflect Map Palette: Forge Island Creators: Unit 50079 and Unit 526 Supported Gametype: Flood Open on file share Objective: Humans spawn in a safe room covered by one way shields. The room has a soft kill barrier. A flood controls a gauss warthog cannon and you must deflect his bullets with your hard light shield. It is hard to hit the warthog, but teamwork and intelligence WILL help you survive. Other: There is an aesthetic camp on the medium island and a forest on the large one. BTW there is no link because I posted this on my iPad and the linking is hard, so THFE please PLEASE showcase this, me and my brother have worked hard to put together this map and we have planned carefully before forging. This map has been tested with my friends, so this is ready. if there are any mistakes, THFE, let me know.

Download here: https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/games/halo4/filebrowser/details/5788e3eb-f4ca-488a-b561-37050541594a .......and Flood, Oddball, KOTH, Slayer. # Description: It's 1999. A trailer comes out, and it's Keanu Reeves saying "whoa". It's the very last thing you'd expect when you walk out of the theater absolutely certain you've just seen a sci-fi classic that will stand the test of time. What I have here is a city connected to the Subway from the original Matrix, with certain buildings and areas recreated from the very first film. The map was designed for free roam flood, and thus the only fiction that made sense was to survive an outbreak of Agent Smiths, borrowing from Reloaded. Because he actually turns you into a Smith, just like an infection. As this is an entire city, ordnances are available to draw people around the map, dare you to make run for supplies and more powerful weapons--and vehicles are not only present, but completely accessible by anyone including flood, just as in the Matrix. Humans have a jump height of 150%, while Smiths also have the ordinary Flood speed 150% in addition. But with vehicles and ordnances, you must survive a whole Five minutes to win. Thank you so much for looking over my hard work. I hope it plays well, as this is my very first Free Roam infection map--ever. Enjoy! 23. What is the Gravemind? The Gravemind is the super-intelligent controlling unit of the Flood. It is a collectivization of the minds of the beings which it has overrun with its 'disease,' and is capable of controlling countless units of mobile Flood at once, through some sort of telepathy. The Gravemind then uses these thoughts/memories/intellects to expand its ever-noble cause: to consume all sentient life in the galaxy. *However there is a problem. As shown from the terminals in Halo: CEA, the Gravemind forces its victims into submission. It is made up of innumerable minds of countless species, which in 'life,' had many different beliefs and agendas, and yet it consists of one, powerful consciousness. THEN WHOSE CONSCIOUSNESS CONTROLS ALL THOSE MINDS? WHOSE CONSCIOUSNESS IS THE GRAVEMIND ITSELF? There is an answer. In Halo: Primordium, the Prisoner of Charum Hakkor (the Primordium), claims to be the last Precursor, the race of beings that preceded the Forerunners, that were even more advanced. This Precursor says to the Forerunner commander, the Didact, "We meet again, young one. I am the last of those that gave you breath and shape and form, millions of years ago. I am the last of those your kind rose up against and ruthlessly destroyed. I am the last Precursor. And our answer is at hand." At the end of the story, this Precursor is revealed to be a Gravemind. This 'Prisoner' was allegedly killed by the Didact in a reverse time capsule. I believe that the time capsule killed the body of that Gravemind, but the consciousness of the Gravemnd was preserved. In Halo: CEA, The oracle has a conversation with a mysterious 'construct.' In response to the Oracle's question, the construct says, "I serve, none serve me, Oracle." (He serves the will of the Precursors, but none are left to serve him) He continues to say, "We follow the path, and I am part of the -stone, -journey, -swarm that serves... I, we, serve. They will find, then I will be free." -Throughout the Halo's, the Gravemind refers to itself both as I and We. The Flood is being held 'prisoner' in the Halo. The Gravemind in Halo 3 says to Chief, "Child of my enemy, why have you come? I offer no forgiveness. A father's sins, cast to his sons." -Humans are noted as 'Reclaimers' by the Forerunners, and there is evidence to suggest that that humans are from Forerunner lineage. This shows that the Gravemind is still exacting judgement on the Forerunners, even though they are gone (or are they?). In conclusion, I believe that the Gravemind is the consciousness of one of the Precursors, who are said to be 'transsentient' by the Forerunners. Much of their technology dealt with the mind. This makes sense seeing that the Gravemind has such a strong will and can communicate telepathically. I believe that this Precursor/Gravemind will be the primary antagonist later in the new Halo trilogy, because there are so many hints in Halo: CEA and Halo: Primordium that would not be worth discussing if it were otherwise.

 25. What do you think about a game variant in multiplayer where you could choose to be any one of several Halo characters (Brutes, Elites, Spartans, Flood, Promethean Knights or Hunters)? I am not sure what I think about it at this point, but I wanted to put it out there and see what other folks in the community think about this. I would not want every variant to have this, just a specific game variant. You would be able to customize each of the characters similar to the way we customize the Spartan armor, loadouts, specialties, etc. What do you think?
