Sticky Detonator spawns in the center of the map. Soft kill and kill zones are placed accordingly. The Rocket Launcher in the large building, Shotgun spawns below. Sniper spawns on second level, the mounted turret is on the third level. The man cannon sends you to the third level. Jet packs work very well on the whole map. Remember, this map is supposed to look like s***. (JK!) Reread the description at the top to understand the aesthetic value. DOMINION SCREENSHOTS (A, B, then C) (note that this is the only gamemode with a banshee; it spawns at "B") I thought it was important to not only have a height difference throughout the map, but also keep a ceiling height difference, to create different combat situations; hence the locations of all the weapons on the map. I recieved a response on a different forging website saying my map looks like it has rocks that are out of place. Remember the description at the top of the forum when viewing the screenshots. Thanks for reading and looking, and tell we what you think! - Squidkake
  2. GT: DHG The Captain(Map made by DHG MELEE) Map:Assault http://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/players/dhg%20the%20captain/halo4/fileshare#!/?section=GameMap&SearchDate=7&SortBy=2&view-select=Tile&startIndex=0&details=031e7e29-1e91-4a5c-b107-72d28dc6a7b2 Game type: Slayer, Flood, Dominion, Regicide(All standard) This map is a mix of close quarters with some vertical advantages here. It has one tower with Sniper rifle for quick sniping at the center. It is filled with corridors and small towers for quick advancement on territory. On one side they a Scorpion with 2 warthogs and mongooses. There are two openings; main opening and a small back door(used for sneaking in on Flood). The main door has a shield with 2 turrets pointing directly at it. Outside the main door is a forest where there lies a warthog, a banshee and a few power weapons. Ordnance are scattered inside the base with both power weapons and common weapons for ammo. Flood spawn first outside base but later re-spawn inside the base. There are 4-5 Dominion bases. Mainly used for both Slayer and Flood.
  3. Map: EXPRESS File share: TANNERTRON2000 Supported Game types: Dominion, Slayer, CTF Recommended Game types: Domination (Dominion), One in the Chamber (Slayer) - (Recommended, but normal gametypes work. Only difference is time limit and point values.) Vehicles: 1 Warthog by base Alpha (Only 1 due to small size of map.) Objective Ordinance: Human Weapons, 1 drop per base. Recommended Team Size: 4-16 Map Details: This map is based off the Black Ops II map Express, which is placed in a Los Angeles train station. There are Random ordinance drops in the elevator, two side hallways, and in the middle of the tracks. Dominion is the best game type for the map because of its aesthetic dominion features and cool design. The Warthog is located by the elevator (Base A). The dynamic lighting is functioning, and the forge budget and most of the pieces are exhausted. The kill areas surround the perimeter of the walls, and there is a kill zone that starts right above the top ceiling of the exterior. The respawn points are the same as they are in Black Ops II, but a few more are added. Hope you like it, and tell me if there are any defects to the map. There is a UPDATED gameplay/ walkthrough video also located on my fileshare. All feedback is appreciated! Changes: 1 turret controlled by base A looking on top of middle building, Objective ordinance drops added, more dominion barriers, moved bases to more cover/ removed overlooking turrets. Middle Building Rear Middle Building Front Terminal Landing Base A Side Hallway Train Base C ( and B, same design) Center Terminal Area
  4. Map: Enlightenment (built on Ravine) Gamertag: Squirtli Supported Game Types: Dominion Recommended Game Types: Dominion (obviously) Vehicles: 2 Mongooses per base, a Warthog pad at Alpha and Charlie, and a Banshee pad at Bravo Recommended Team Size: ? Map Details: The map consists of three bases, as most Dominion maps do. Alpha and Charlie are located on either side of the grassy part of Ravine, with Bravo between them. They both have sight lines to each other and to Bravo. Alpha and Charlie can also reach each other by taking a path behind Bravo that is protected by rocks (however, it is still possible to enter Bravo along this path). There are no initial or random ordnance drops, so teammates must work together to take over bases and earn their weapons. Weapons consist of Sniper Rifles, Rocket Launchers, Splasers, etc. to DMRs, Plasma Pistols, and Grenades. Alpha and Charlie are smaller bases, while Bravo is larger and more heavily fortified. It also has more entrances, however, including a gravity lift in its basement. This is my first Dominion map so far, and it's definitely a challenge to build. I have not been able to do much testing on this map yet, apart from making sure the bases, turrets, etc. worked properly. I had to go a few versions back to correct map shifting, but all of the Dominion pieces should be working. If anything isn't, please let me know. I will fix it ASAP. Also, if you want to test this map, feel free to do so and let me know how it went! I'd love to know what the best team size for this is, as well. From the album: b0b is here's maps

The boxes: designed for close quarters combat of gametypes including dominion, slayer, and "nowhere to hide" flood & gravemind. The map is titled "The Boxes", is set in Erosion, and is a 3-tier asymmetrical map. Players traverse the map from top to middle, and from bottom to middle. Due to the super close quarters, confusion is instantly begun at the start of the game. Players at the top level must find a corner and hole to drop down. Players at the bottom must find a ramp or teleporter in the middle structure or on the map's sidewalls. Bases are located at the top, middle, and bottom levels. There are many pathways throughout, and most lead directly to the where the action is. The boxes does have weapons placed throughout, most of which are to be utilized for close quarters.

Map Name: Spartan Space Castles 4.0 File Share Gamertag: CROOKLYN05 Canvas Map: IMPACT Last Updated: 2/21/13 Tags: ctf, halo 4 Supported Game types: Slayer, KOTH, Dominion, Slayer, Flood, CTF Best Gametypes: Dominion, Slayer, KOTH, CTF, Dominion Intended Team Size(s): 8-16 player (Big Team Battle Best) Initial Ordnance:5 2- Jet Pack 1- Sniper 1- Railgun 1 - Auto Sentry Random Ordnance: Default Weapons on Map: None Armor Abilities/Powerups on map: Default Supported Vehicles: Mantis, Warthog, Banshee Budget: ####/10000 - 9900/10000 Screenshots: http://www.chamink.com/SSC-AD-Ver-2.jpg Video Flythrough/Overview Link: (This fly through is of 3.0 but both are alike) Map Description: Two Legendary Factions once Ruled here. Until one day, the Greed for Power and Control turned allies against each other. When the great war of the S.S.C's ended. All that remained were two abandoned behemoths that lay in ruin as the devastating reminder of what war can bring. Spartan Space Castles 4.0, is a map that utilizes the space provided on impact. I was always of fan of Halo 1's Blood Glutch. Just the size of that map was awesome. Countless hours playing Blood Gulch, CTF and just playing in the huge terrain that it provided. This map features two castle bases. Each is equipped with auto turrets and vehicles. All vehicles can travel where as possible. Even across the walkway. The walkway provides a means of getting across the span. There are two banshees at each base as well. There are plenty of ways in and out of the castles and around the map. It is really made for Big Team Battles, just based on the shear size of this map. Again I like maps that feel like campaign maps where you travel and cover vast areas of the board. There is a tunnel system in the back of Castle Beta to make for some fun close encounters. I also wanted to add some detailed pieces like the damaged doors and command centers to give it more of a campaign feel. Enjoy! Does this map use players trait zones? No If so, please provide the details for each trait zone: Additional Info (optional): Map is still being adjusted tested and updated. Thanks for checking it out. www.chaminkproductions.com
  9. Gamertag: TheJudgemodalla Map Name: Silo Gametype: Team Slayer, CTF, KOTH, Dominion, Oddball Description: Silo is a large symmetrical competitive map that works with almost every gametype in Halo 4 as of now. There are 3 main areas which may be vital areas of control, which are the Red Spawn, Blue Spawn and the Middle Base, or just A, B and C for short (A being red, B being the middle base and C being blue). Each base has two gravity lifts which can bring the player to the highest level of the map, being a connection of rings made by bridges. These higher pathways have mass coverage over parts of the map, but in return have no cover what so ever from fire below. Each base is supplied with a sniper rifle and the middle base holds a Rocket Launcher. The opposite side of the middle base is an isolated rock path that is separated from the central routes of the map (this area holds a Spartan Laser). Both the Red and Blue spawns hold Warthogs which can only be accessed by the team corresponding to the color (red or blue). I placed shield doors in front of bases A and C so that immediate fire would not occur and kill players instantly (much like how it did on Countdown). The center of the map has a man cannon that will launch the player to the middle ring of the elevated paths. This map also has a auto turret that can fire at enemies in the center of the map (only in dominion). This map would work well with 4v4, 5v5, and 6v6 due the the amount of coverage one spartan can hold. Please leave feedback if you could. ANY COLOR DISORDERS APPLYING TO THE MIDDLE BASE AND OTHER PARTS HAVE BEEN FIXED. FACT: This only took about 3 days to make...

It utilizes the default Dominion gametype and is watertight. There's a teleport system behind Red and Blue garage as a form of Alpha Charlie movement option outside of Bravo control. Red an Blue garages have been blocked off, but have a mongoose and warthog beside them. All bases have two turrets, 3 entrances with shields, and 2 entrances with no shields. NOTE: There is no dynamic lighting on non-forge world maps. All objective drops are Human themed. Finally, spawning is tight with respawn zones and anti-respawn zones. All feed back is welcome, and I hope you enjoy Crossbow.

    Dominion

Hey guys, here just to wonder what the community thinks about the new gametype in Halo 4, Dominion. I've played it for quite a while and it is my favorite playlist. I want to know what the community seems to think about it. Have you played it? It is a really cool gametype somewhat like territories... to the extreme. Post your complaints about it. Or even post what you love about it or what you would like in an update for it. Should it be improved or thrown out?

  14. Hey all, this is my first post and first topic on these forums and I decided to make it because I've been playing a lot of Dominion recently and I just wanted to talk about the gametype amongst all you super pro Halo 4 tryhards out there. This topic is going to just be talking about the things I've learned from playing Dominion for over 200 Victories, and over 150 Defeats. I'll keep this relatively short because nobody likes to read overly long posts. After reading them, let me know what you think, share your own strategies and constructively criticize mine. I'm not the perfect player and this is not me trying to convince everybody that I am, but I can always learn from mistakes, and can always broaden my mind to better strategies. Also, this post is here to give newbies a good heads up. Maybe I'll be educating new players to not make these mistakes and not learn them the hard way. 1. Learn the maps and have a strong start: This is pretty much a no-brainer but it deserves to be mentioned. There are currently 4 maps in the Dominion gametype and Exile is played the most, with Vortex played the least (in my experience at least). I have a consistent start to every map except for Vortex because I rarely play it. I'm not going to tell you mine for each map but I am going to say learn where all the first weapon drops are when the game starts, and learn how the enemy typically reacts when the game starts. I'm going to pull a percentage out of my *** and say that about 80% of the games where my team had an excellent start, we ended up winning in the end. I'll go as far to say it's almost absolutely crucial to have a strong start in Dominion, but epic comebacks happen all the time so don't be discouraged if you had a bad start. 2. Bases, Fortifications, and Resupplies: I'm not going to go over the general stuff of Dominion because you aren't CoD players, you aren't idiots and can figure things out yourselves. What I will go over is basic tactics to help you win. First up, is don't be overzealous, and by this I mean if you feel yourself at a strong disadvantage, find a way to turn the tables. This seems like a no brainer, but I can't tell you how often I see good players forget that they can stop throwing themselves at a base spawn after spawn thinking they are all powerful. And wait for a good resupply to give them that edge they need to take the base. If you have 2 bases, there is really no need to leave a base to go capture the third. It just leaves your crucial footing open for capture. Sure people can complain that your camping, but with Dominion it's a strategy that earns victories. If you have 1 base, against their 2, or if the other base of yours is being captured, it's essential to start moving, but do so with a good train of thought. Instead of "I'm going to spawn and rush to the enemy base and hope they don't have a good footing." you should think "I'm going to watch my HUD, figure out where my teammates are, and wait 10 seconds for this Base resupply, and decide which base I can join my teammates to capture with my shiny new rocket launcher." 3. Sniper No Sniping! : Sniper rifle is a powerful tool in any gametype, and Dominion is no different. If your not good with the sniper rifle, get good with it, there is no way around it. I'm going to go over 2 tips that I've learned on the map Exile, I figure it's a good place to start seeing as it's the most popular map by far. Tip 1: The first tip is when you start on the Red team, start with a DMR, or a Light Rifle, and rush to the right of capture point B, like your going to capture point A. Crouch down and aim towards the far end of the map, aim at the Sniper Rifle that is sitting in the clearing. I've gotten a ridiculous amount of First Strike kills for those overzealous players rushing for that sniper rifle. If you have a good shot, they really have nowhere to run that will get them out of your firing sight...unless you miss a couple shots. It is actually essential to kill this guy, because he has a clear shot towards your teammates trying to get A and I've downed around 4 to 5 people going for A just with that sniper rifle when I was on Blue Team. If nobody goes for the sniper rifle, and it will usually take around 7 to 12 seconds after the start of the game for you to realize that nobody is going for it, than rush to the SAW that spawns at the mouth of the "cave" to the lifters to capture point A. And if your feeling incredibly bold, and feel it's safe, and your team has A, than go for the sniper rifle yourself and go to my next Sniping tip... This won't work on skilled players, or players that are wise to this trick like me. When I'm on Blue Team I can usually manage to get the sniper rifle with a careful mind even with people aiming at me. Tip 2: If your team has A and you have the sniper rifle, and preferably active camo, jump to the rocks to the left of A. There is a rather large platform that you can perch yourself on and you have a clear shot to B from here. Not only that, but if you stay observant, you can intercept enemies coming down from the cave to capture A, as long as you stay stealthy. Active camo only helps you to stay incognito while your there. Just be careful of Banshees and if your good enough, enemies will get wise and start shooting at you, but this usually takes awhile. So be careful, and if you've been made, it's time to switch sniping spots. That was longer than I hoped, but those are just a few tips, if people read this and share their own tips, I'll give more and hopefully we can get some seriously good strategies running through this thread. Happy posting!
  15. Hello, I've made a very extensive sharship map where the defending team defends it and the assault team flies to it and tries to capture the hangar, bridge, and communications area and kill all survivors to win. I've tested it quite a bit but never on a large scale and would like to try to get an 8 v 8. I am also very fond of custom games and if anyone would like to add me i'll start hosting custom games regularly. My gamer tag is: Dirty Ravers Thanks for your time and id appreciate any help starting these games/ suggestions or comments.
  16. Gamertag: Fraw Lawk Map: Orange_H4 Gametype: Orange_H4 Player Count: 12 - 16 Alrightythen everyone, its time to lay this first map to rest. I apologize for reposting this map for the third time but I've made changes from time to time and now its finally completed. This map is made for an epic battle using dominion mode. The amount of players that I recommend doing is 16 players or 8 v 8 to get the full chaos out of it. Orange_H4 is semi symmetrical because of some issues I had to deal with like lack of budget and structure. I've put out more vehicles (wraiths and regular warthogs), changed up a few weapon choices for objective drops. "Orange" doesn't sound like a cool or original name for a map but the reason why I named it orange is because it was supposed to be a remake or tribute for this map http://gamebanana.co...om/maps/46051 Orange maps are made not only in TF2 (Team Fortress 2) but are in many other games that have an editor tool (Counter-Strike, Day of Defeat, Left 4 dead series, etc.) so its kinda like a tradition to have a Orange map so I brought it into Halo 4. Hope you guys like my first completed map, Have fun! Overview of the map Bases Middle Base ©
  17. Gamertag : thesplatzer Map: Cliffside "Manufacturing plant 011 was established by the UNSC to supply communication assets to the soldiers on the battlefield." This map is equally great in a vehicle as it is on foot. There is a walkway which gives you a nice overhead view of the map, but can easily be flanked. There is also a large building for storage that Red Team spawns in. You can bunker down in a dugout, or pick off enemies from a distance. Blue team spawns at the radio out post. Here are some pictures:
  18. Once the file share system is up I will provide you with a link for download. Information about downloading the map right now is at the bottom of this post. -[Map Name]- -[Lunar waste]- -[Description]- -Scientists have decided that to save earth we have to get rid of our waste dumps, so this orbital station is our new site for toxic waste dumps- -[story]- Our planet has become poisoned by us humans. We choke it with our toxic waste that we dump all over our beautiful globe. Nuclear powerplants are going to destroy our home and until now we've let that happen. Now scientists have finally found a solution to save Earth: Orbital space dumps! Instead of dumping our nasty waste on ourselves we can transport it away from us and into the endless abyss of the universe where it will cause no harm to anybody. -[Game information]- -This map is created on Impact and was made to have great mass-carnage-fun in BTB Slayer but it also works great for Dominion and is compatible with many other gametypes aswell.- -[Features]- This map features a whole new kind of way to get hurt: Toxic waste! Yes that is correct, your shield will drain while you stand in the blue acid pools. You will also be slowed down and not be able to jump as high when walking into the thick mud of putrid waste. When you drive a vehicle into the bigger pool of blue death juice you will be forced out of the vehicle because all its parts are being eaten up by the vile liquid. -[Weapons]- (When playing Dominion each site will have x2 Ordnance drops) x2 Sniper rifles (Not on Dominion) x2 Assault rifles x2 SAWs (Ordnance) x1 Battle rifle x1 Railgun x1 Spartan laser (Not on Dominion) x2 Light rifles x2 Storm rifles x1 Magnum x2 Random ordnance drops that contains grenades and different ordnance weapons. x3 Warthogs x2 Ghosts -[Players]- -It is meant for 8v8 but works nicely all the way down to 4v4. -[Compatible gametypes]- (Green=Great for, Yellow=Okay for, Red=Not so good for) -BTB/Slayer -Multi Team -Dominion -Extraction (3 Sites) -King of The Hill -Capture The Flag -Swat -Oddball -Flood -[images]- ( Better quality coming soon ) (These pictures were taken in Dominion mode so anything Dominion related will not be in any other of the gametypes) Map overview. Nothing really dramatically changed, just some minor details for both bases and added team colors for walls, decoration, etc. Especially at C area, I've made the building and around it orange because why not? There is an added Bigscreen for second floor in C, and brought some of the colosseums and natural rocks together to avoid seeing gap holes. I swear no matter how many times I magnetize the wall colosseums that make the floor layout, they won't stay 100% together. Really, its one of the most aggrivating things about forge. A closer look at the spawn area. Finding a way to build w/o using grids makes me feel so much better about my forging skills, lol. Middle, C, however you would call it. 1st floor of C 2nd floor of C I really need some playtesters please! As always, look for it in my fileshare "Fraw Lawk"!
  22. This map is a medium, 12 to 16 player dominion variant on Impact. Both team's starting bases have banshee and warthog vehicle pads with a mongoose available to start. There is a gauss hog mid field and the 3rd base include a scorpion and default hog on vehicle pads, and a ghost. The starting bases have 3 ordinance drops each, while the 3rd has 7; 2 magnums, a BR, AR, and DMR compliment the two other, heavier resupplies. This map is entirely done with forge objects and no existing terrain was used. This made it a little tough for me as I was trying to still give the feel of some natural cover. I hit the budget limit as I finished the map which caused me to have to improvise a little bit in some areas while tweaking the map to what I feel is a finished state. Pictures from phone are below: Overview from red side View from midfield structure looking toward red (Alpha) base Overview from midfield structure View from between blue (Bravo) base and neutral base (Charlie) View from between Alpha and Charlie View of Alpha View of Bravo View of Charlie This map includes my other map that I posted here, Outpost Bravo and is the finished product I was working towards. As always, the map is in my file share, or just search for me under the map variant search using file share search and search for my tag xaer0darkness. Let me know what you guys think!
  23. Get The Edge On The Competition With These MLG Strategy Guides Bravo came out with a Dominion Strategy Video a couple of weeks ago. That video got taken down for using video footage that 343 didn't want to be on the internet. But I bring to you today that same video done again. This video has some language but it is :Bleeped out: Enjoy the video and tell me what you think of these strategies. Here is the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJJYtqqsiqs&list=UUq7AJTe2LVeTN_vanfZ5bkw&index=2&feature=plcp Video by BravoMLG In all dominion game types there will be 3 capture points one near each teams spawn and the other in the middle. This being noted there needs to be high emphasis on the middle base. Also focus on back routes and the vehicles that you are given These things are key to the success of this game type.
