  1. Welcome all to the 47th 343i Weekly Community Poll! Last week the Community was asked which non-Halo 4 weapon should make its return in Halo 5. The Community has voted, and the results of the poll are in! This week's poll has to do with a core part of what makes online Halo multiplayer what we've come to know and love today, but this week's community poll would like to question that fundamental value, and see how the community feels about it. Would you ever want Halo's Radar replaced or accompanied by a mini-map? Leave your thoughts along with your vote below. Voting ends 10-06-2014 @ 6:00 AM EST Thanks for participating in the Weekly Community Poll and See y'all next week! Have a question, complaint, or suggestion pertaining to the poll? Message BZ1.

  5. Start -- Xbox Support Chat -- info: Privacy Statement You are now chatting with 'Judie'. Judie: Thank you for contacting Xbox Support. My name is Judie. How are you doing today? Justin: I'm good. Thanks Judie: Hi there, Justin! Glad to know that you're doing good. And thanks for the info. Judie: It says here that you want to get info about the community video game event, right? Justin: Yes. Judie: Alright. Just to verify, are you trying to host a party on any Xbox games? Justin: I don't own any Xbox games or systems as of now. But if I knew I could host this event, I would make plans on buying some. Judie: Alright. You can actually broadcast your game plays through Twitch. But for now, Live broadcasting is not yet available. So if you would like to broadcast your game plays, you will be needing DVR to record it. Here, let me provide you a link to check the features of the Live broadcasting using Twitch. Judie: Twitch on Xbox One Justin: Sorry, to be more specific. I want to rent the Youth Center and have games systems available for the community to play with/against each other. Judie: Oh, I see. If I may ask, what tournament do you have in mind, Justin? I mean what games will you be playing? Judie: Like some tournament of fighting games, I meant 1 vs 1? Justin: Depends on what system I can use and if I need the publishers permission to use their games. Justin: Right here I just want to know what do I need to do to use your system for this community video game event? Steps to take. Judie: Hold on, give me a minute or two. Judie: Sorry to make you wait, Justin. Judie: Justin, can you provide some more details about your planned activity please. Judie: Sorry for the questions, just want to make sure that we are on the same page. Judie: Like do you want to connect all consoles together and play the same game? Judie: Or like some kind of a sponsorship from Xbox? Justin: The plan is to rent the back of the Youth Center. Advertise to my town of a Video Game Event. People show up and play games against each other or coop. I want to have 2 or more gaming stations for 2 or 4 player games each. If unable to use Xbox consoles, I'll try Playstation next. Then finally try Steam OS Custom Built PC's. Justin: Or Linux PC's Justin: I'd buy everything. I'm not looking for assistance. Just permission. Judie: I totally understand, Justin. All you need to do is to contact the game developer of the game that will be used on your tournament. They will be the one to seek an approval or permission to use the system. I believe this is totally depends on you, you just need to tell them that you wanted to use either Xbox 360 or Xbox One for the tournament. Justin: Awesome! Thanks. And is the permission for how frequent this event is also up to the developers? Judie: Yes, Justin. You can coordinate with the game developers on how long will the tournament will run or how frequent. I can provide you some of the game developer's contact numbers. Justin: Yes Please! Thank you! Judie: Here: Judie: 2k Sports: 866-219-9839 Judie: Rockstar Games: 866-405-5464 Judie: CAPCOM: 650-350-6700 Judie: EA: 866-543-5435 Judie: UbiSoft: 866-824-6515 Judie: Namco Bandai Games: 408-235-2222 Judie: There you go. Justin: Amazing! Thank you Judie: It's a pleasure. Sorry for taking too much time, Justin. I just want to make sure that we are on the same page. Judie: Would there be anything else I can assist you with? Justin: What about Halo? Microsoft Judie: For Halo, you should contact: 343 Industries Justin: Great. Thanks Judie: Here is the link for the 343 Industries. It's their community forums. Judie: 343 Industries Justin: thanks Judie: You are most welcome. Hope I was able to provide you all the info. But if there's anything else I can help you, please let me know. Justin: k. Have a great day! Judie: Likewise and take care! Good luck on your event, Justin! Judie: Thank you for contacting Xbox Customer Support! To end your chat session please click "Close chat" above the chat window. If you have any additional questions after you disconnect, feel free to contact us again. Have a great day! End -- Xbox Support Chat -- ---- So 343industries, Do I need your permission to use your games for these Community Video Game Events? I ask because I just got done chatting with Playstation and they're answer was: Jaime M.: Thank you for your patience Justin, alright as far as I understood you would like to perform a Video Game Event in your current town and you are asking us for our permission to use our systems on that event, and you will purchase those consoles. Jaime M.: Am I correct? Justin Richardson: Yes. Jaime M.: Alright Justin, let me tell you that since you are purchasing the systems , and also the games I don't see any kind of permission that we must provide to you, which means that you are free to go ahead with your Vide Game event! Justin Richardson: Awesome! Thanks! Justin Richardson: Now do I still need permission from the game developers as well? Justin Richardson: To use their game? Jaime M.: You are welcome Justin! And I don't see any reason why you should ask for that kind of permission Justin, in theory you are paying for the licenses when you purchase the game so you are free to use it Justin, you are not doing something bad.

  8. So since the days following release, many members have discussed with me the possibility of creating an official un-official community squad for Star Wars: Commander. So I've created: 343iCommunity If you'd like to join simply request it, and be sure to comment your username below so that we can verify your membership. The rules for the squad will be similar to that of the Forum. No swearing No racial or ethnic slurs Do not flame other members No linking to images, videos, or websites containing nudity, discrimination, or swear words The most important rule however is to have fun. We want you to join the squad and we'd like to keep it enjoyable for everyone which is the reason these rules will remain in effect. Also, Arno Dorian has created an imperial squad known as the 343rd_corps. I believe his will be acting as a squad for the empire and mine will be acting as the Rebellion. Thanks for your interest and see ya on the virtual battlefield!

  10. Hola gamers, If any of you are interested in starting a clan from scratch, let me know! This is of course all for fun, but hey you never know it could blow up! My ideal clan is one that actually has skilled players. If you remember in the Halo 2 online days, Clan Matches were the best part of the game. If you played clan matches, you know how hard it was to get your clan's overall rank up!(Hope to god that Halo 5 has a clan system! lol) Anyways, clans are more fun in my opinion when they are competitive and have fun playing to win! Of course, its always fun to play some Big Team Battle and run people over with Warthogs, I completely understand that. I stay really up to date with the latest Halo news(H5) and Halo 4 tournaments, so I can add some pretty cool content to our website. I've got some experience building websites, here is the forum software that our site will use: Btw, Elusive Gaming is not the final clan name, only an idea. I will buy a real domain name(.net) when I have a team of clan members decide on a good one! The site has a blog and forums, but is still under construction of course. I can show whoever how to work the software and be a moderator/admin. Let me know! Jake GT: iLLgRiM

  13. Well after having the flu for the past couple of days, I've had a lot of time to sit down and think. This of course, eventually led me to think of the community, and as I was thinking about all of you, I thought to myself we have a great community at 343i. But while we do have a lot of fun with one another, I don't think we know each other as much as we'd like to. So I got this idea, why don't we have a place, one place, where you can go and just learn more about members and hopefully find a member or multiple members that you really connect with. So here it is, the "Community Connect" thread. I really hope you partake in this with me, and hopefully we can become a closer community. I'll go first. (I also greatly encourage you to use this format as well for clarity sake) Name: Beckoningzebra1 (Ethan) Bio: I'm from the Southeastern United States. I love spending my time with friends and family. I like to learn, if you've got a story, I'd love to hear it. I'm currently part of the News Group here at 343i.org and love my job. Likes: Christ, Football, Star Wars, Halo, Gaming, Hanging out with friends, Winning, and Minecraft. Dislikes: Being Disliked. Losing. Mushrooms. The Steelers. The Jets. Image that best describes me: Aspirations/Dreams: I'd like to compete at a professional level of football, particularly an NFL Wide Receiver. Become Excellent at programming. [uPDATED 6-5-14] That's mine but you can go much further in depth or you can be more shallow. Only give information if you're comfortable doing so. I greatly encourage you all to partake in this and I thank you for taking the time to read this thread.

  16. I'm gonna throw this thread out there as a bit of a teaser as well as an invitation to anyone out there that still loves to play there daily Halo, but doesn't have many people left on their friend's list that plays Halo. I'm making a gaming community called "Project Ascension" with a strong emphasis on Halo. The community will deal work with our members to grow and expand for every type of gamer, from the casual Halo player, to the elite players. We are set up to have a war-simulation event (And no, not a LARP) in which all our participating members form into teams and work to gain domination of a risk type board, with each territory being represented by an actual in-game map. Alongside this, you can expect us to have a handful of gamenights each week ranging from any of the Halos, to other amazing multiplayer games. On top of the Campaign war simulations, and gamenights, we will also hold Tournaments, and days were we get together to simply work on achievements to help our members get that next step closer to 100% their games. Now that I'm done with the very rough explanation of what Project Ascension is, let me try provide some quick guidelines to the community: 1.) We don't have an age range, We have met plenty of 14 year olds that have it much more together than some guys and gals in college. We do however work to limit drama on the community to as small as we can. 2.) No, we do not require any changes to your gamertags, profiles, statuses, or anything like that. It's dumb, and a waste of your time to do it, and a waste of my time to even think of asking you to do it. 3.) We are an open community, if you are part of another community, we don't mind. We are just restarting and we understand that other larger communities have a lot to offer as well. We do appreciate monogamous members, but it's not like we are gonna chain you to the community. 4.) No, we don't demand that you attend every thing we do. We do appreciate members conveying that they wanna join an event, but unless you convey you want to join in, you don't need to feel pressure to join. Project Ascension already has pretty much everything we need to start up on a moment's notice, but due to our admins either being in college final's month, busy with a wedding around the corner, as well as other things in life demanding our attention, we won't be officially starting up for about a month and a half, late May to early June to help remove the chronological math from that. With all of that said, myself, and the other admins do find ourselves enough spare time to jump on our xbox often enough to forge some fun maps, do matchmaking, and keep up with anyone that wants to join with us for some fun times. If you feel like you wanna just jump on Halo and play with some decent guys feel free to send a friend request to gamertag: Salvanous.

  18. Hello and welcome all to the 15th 343i Weekly Community Poll! Last week's question asked you if you preferred the massive beautiful Forge World, or the three flat topped islands that make up Forge Island. I actually thought it would be much closer than this, but here is our winner: On to this week's poll, which stems all the way from Halo 2 and can become an integral piece in the future of Halo: Do you think Arbiter will make his return in Halo 5? Now, don't be too quick to type up your opinion on this, because there's going to be a little bit of a break in the poll for the month of December with Christmas and everything so near. So if you want your vote to count this time, the voting deadline will be set at 10:00AM EST 01/03/14 Wow, it's almost 2014! Just another month and 2013 will be behind us... 20. "Halo - It's finished!" "No. I think we're just getting started." They're back. As most of you have noticed, it's been some time now since our weekly custom game playdates were running, and even longer since the days of full lobbies and lengthy play sessions. Some of you no doubt thought that they were gone forever - that we'd given up on the dwindling lobbies and decided that there was no point in continuing, that with so few of our members able to attend we'd chosen to focus our energy on finding other ways to interact with the community. But here at 343industries.org, we're nothing if not resilient: our staff saw in the ever-shrinking numbers of players not a fate to be accepted, but a challenge to be overcome. We knew that even if the existing system of lobbies weren't working, the one thing you can guarantee about a forum full of Halo fans is that if there's one thing they all love, it's playing Halo with their friends and fellow members. And so instead of simply shrugging off our playdates as a failure, we set out to make them better than ever, to make them so good that they would be completely unmissable. Introducing the Future. From now on, instead of just holding a playdate where you can get together with your fellow forum-goers for a few rounds of Halo every weekend, we'll be announcing a small number of individually-chosen, specially-selected Community Events every month. We've put a huge amount of work into exploring every corner of the Halo fandom to compile a collection of the finest maps, minigames, and content for use in our new Community Events, and we're going to continue to add to that with new ideas and material every single day. From now on, interacting with the community won't just be restricted to playdates every week: instead, while the opportunity to kill your fellow members for points will most certainly be returning, we also have a whole slew of new contests, tournaments, and prize giveaways that we can't wait to introduce, covering every aspect of the Halo universe: regardless of whether you want to take on Halo's gamer elite in a fast and fair competitive setting, forge masterpieces worthy of the Forerunners themselves, or delve into the mysteries of the expanded universe, we have something that you're going to love. To inaugurate our new programme, we'll be giving you the chance to directly thank those who've been working on it for the past few weeks as the infamous Halo 4 Staff vs Members playdate makes its glorious return. This first event begins on Saturday, October 19th 2013 at 3pm CST (9pm GMT) We hope you'll come along and participate in the first of our new Community Events. And if you're already looking forward to that as much as we are, then you'll be even more amazed when you see what comes next!
  21. Welcome to the 7th 343i Weekly Community Poll! Last week's most popular Magestic Team Spartan was: Ah, 7 my favorite number, the number of completion, the number of this week's poll! Anyways here's the question: What is your favorite UNSC Starship? -Short-sword class Bomber -Skyhawk Fighter -AV-22 Sparrowhawk -AV-14 Attack VTOL -GA-TL1 Longsword-class Interceptor -YSS-1000 Sabre -F-41 EMSF Broadsword -Pelican -D96-TCE Albatross -Calypso-class exfiltration craft -Black Cat-class subprowler -Chiroptera-class stealth vessel -Prowler -Laden-class freighter -Parabola-class freighter IF YOU WANT YOUR VOTE TO COUNT, VOTE BEFORE 10:00 A.M. Enjoy your week, and see ya next time If you have any questions, complaints, suggestions, or just a comment pertaining to the Poll, message me.

  23. So I was thinking about this pretty strongly... should 343i include a free, community made map pack? It would be filled with maps for each game mode, and some extra aesthetically pleasing details. The maps might be made by THFE, or they could be by unassociated map makers. I think this would improve community morale, bring players back to Halo, and be lots of fun. Also, they could add these maps to the official multiplayer playlists or even have one of its own. Obviously it would take place on the four forge maps in Halo 4, and they would be equally varied and distributed. I think this addition would be promising. I know that they do already have community maps in War Games, but I'm asking for a full fledged map pack that is treated as so and even includes achievements. Anyways, guys, your opinions?
  24. Hey guys, RANDPLAYER here. I just recently made a 2v2 map on reach which will be functional with Slayer & KoTH, the map is 95% finished, all that's left is spawning and making sure that spawnkilling ain't possible (or at least very difficult), so I'm reaching out to the community for help. Down below are some screenshots of the map and I would second of all want your opinion(s) if I should modify or remove features of the map. (screenshots are also available on my fileshare) Link: http://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/players/randplayer/haloreach/fileshare -Map features- 1x sniper 1x needler 1x concussion 2x magnums 2x repeaters 2x plasma pistols 2x DMRs 4x assault rifles 2x plasmas 2x frags 2x health 1x overshield Start screen North overview South overview Red spawn Blue spawn Green teleport Orange teleport Forge overview So if anyone is interested in helping me out it would be much appreciated. I will be online and playing starting today (sep. 28, 7am CST - 10pm CST) & (sep. 29, 6am CST - 4pm CST) If you read this post after said time, feel free to send me a message on XBL and I'll be sure to reply as quick as I can. Thanks to any who'd like to help RANDPLAYER out
