  1. Bungie co-founder Jason Jones shows little bit more of Destiny from Sony's Playstation 4 presentation, we get to see just a little bit more of Destiny but nothing to revealing. The video below shows small bits of in game footage from the game, a bigger Destiny reveal is scheduled for late match at GDC so for now enjoy this brief video. 2. With the excitement and anticipation from the reveal of Bungies next game on Sunday some people might find their mood to be dampened as activision have announced that Destiny will not have a 2013 release. They said it will be coming out in 2014 but have not said when, it is a safe bet it could be within Q1 or Q2 of 2014 but nothing is for sure yet. Read below for more details. This article is from gamespot. Activision has warned not to expect Bungie's Destiny in 2013. "Although Bungie's amazing new world was revealed today, Activision has not included the launch in its 2013 outlook and there should be no speculation or expectation of a different result," said the publisher today in a statement. Destiny is scheduled to be released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and all future console platforms, with the new Xbox and PlayStation expected on shop shelves before the end of the year. This means it is unlikely Destiny will be a next-gen launch title. Destiny is billing itself a "shared-world shooter" in an always-connected world. Players assume the roles of Guardians in the last safe city on Earth. Bungie has yet to release any in-game footage of the game. "For all the unknowns, Destiny still feels very much like the product of Bungie," said GameSpot's Shaun McInnis after glancing a first look at the game last week. "More specifically, it feels like Bungie taking what they've done well over the years and moving in a new direction, with new technology, toward something well beyond Halo. I know I can't wait to see what else Destiny is." 3. Here we have a full analysis of the destiny vidoc from IGN, it does thorough job at going through everything from the video. We get to look at enemy factions, vehicles, beautiful environments and a lot more. This Entire analysis is from IGN. Credit to Drizzy_Dan for the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=HjqYn2Bc1Hw Pillar #1: A World Players Want to Be In “This pillar really influenced us early in development,” Jones said, noting that Destiny has already been a six-year odyssey for him, while the rest of Bungie started to get in on the action in 2009 and jumped fully onboard after Halo: Reach shipped in September of 2010. “Is this world cool? Do I want to stay here? Do I want to learn more about it?” That world is a post-apocalyptic earth. Humanity has been nearly wiped out, but saved by the extraterrestrial protection of The Traveler, a gigantic white globe that now floats claustrophobically close above the planet’s last safe city – a place where humanity’s greatest minds have come together. Over time, humans have regained their technological mojo and again taken to exploring the stars of our own galaxy: Mars, Venus, the Moon, etc. Except now various forms of alien life seek to stamp out humanity once and for all, and it’s up to you as a Guardian to help stop them and keep earth safe. Not much is known about the Black Garden.. Pillar #2: A Bunch of Fun Things to Do Staten proceeded to tell a story about a possible gameplay scenario in Destiny, in which Staten’s Warlock class character and Jones’s Vanguard (Staten explained that every Guardian wields some of the Traveler’s power: “You can call it magic, I guess.”) head off on an adventure together. You’re at the Tower, a reinforced monolith that serves as your home. Here you can socialize, gear up, or group up and then aim for the stars – literally. Many other players mill about. Some you may know, some you may not. Some are making plans for adventure, but others may simply be watching the sunset – a worthwhile endeavor thanks to the spectacle of Destiny’s new engine, which pairs real-time dynamic lighting with global illumination for some truly spectacular vistas (one of the few things I actually did get to see with my own eyes). Jones is a higher-level player, and as such has better gear, including an impressive sleek, black spaceship that makes Staten’s smaller, simpler vessel look like, in his own joking words, a “Space Corolla.” Ships will serve various purposes. Only a Scout class was specifically mentioned, though it was implied that space combat will factor into Destiny as well. Mars' Exclusion Zone is controlled by the Cabal. Whooshing to Mars, the pair finds “the bones of a lost human civilization.” It’s “an ancient city,” Staten detailed. “Buried in sand. The precious remains of a golden age.” Here to prevent you from reaching any of the literal gold that’s rumored to lie beneath the ruins of the Dust Palace are the Sand Eaters, a group of massive, armored rhino-esque creatures known as the Cabal. A shootout soon turns ugly for Staten’s Warlock and Jones’s Vanguard. Fortunately, a mysterious female player – rocking a Hunter class – speeds in on the very Ghost-like Pike vehicle and helps turn the tide thanks to her unique weapon, dubbed “The Fate of All Fools.” The battle was won thanks to invisible, behind-the-scenes matchmaking that linked the players – think of it as the next evolutionary phase of Bungie’s groundbreaking hopper technology that served as the online backbone for every Halo game starting with 2. Earth's moon is broken. Check out the tectonic action! “Every time you run into another player, it’s amazing,” Staten exclaimed. “It just doesn’t happen in other shooters.” The Hunter class of Guardian lies in wait as a few different foes pass. “And just like that,” Staten explained. “The Dust Palace becomes part of my story. The breadth and depth of Destiny’s world encourages me to find my own adventures." Pillar #3: Rewards Players Care About Jones explained how the game will have “a lot of great things to earn, find, and make,” reiterating that “everything you do in Destiny earns rewards.” Besides unique weapons, every piece of your kit will be your own, from your helmet to your cape to your armor pieces to your face. Their goal, he said, is to keep players coming back “day after day, week after week, month after month, [and] year after year.” The two of them are now three, and the trio plumbs the depths of the Dust Palace, reaches Charlemagne’s Vault, and Staten scores a new pistol. Like the Huntress’s sidearm, it too has a custom name: “Thorn,” a fitting description for a 45-caliber hand cannon. With this outing complete, the Hunter leaves just as quickly and quietly as she arrived. If this sound a bit reminiscent of IGN’s 2012 Game of the Year Award-winning Journey in that regard, you’re not alone. Pillar #4: A New Experience Every Night “Imagine you could spend an hour and accomplish something,” Jones mused. Bungie aims to have emergent activity, where “you get distracted from doing the thing you meant to do when you logged on.” Furthermore, Jones expressed hope that “every time you sit down to play Destiny you have a different experience than last time.” All we know about the Vex is that they're time-traveling robots. The word “raids” – a term MMORPG fans know well – was used at one point during the presentation, suggesting large group scenarios as well as solo and smaller-party endeavors. Bungie says they’ll have “an activity for every mood.” As an extension of this pillar’s concept, Destiny will have no main menu. Instead, it just lives and you’re always in it when you boot the game up. Pillar #5: Shared With Other People Though all of the Bungie representatives on hand made sure to emphasize that there’s plenty of fun to be had in Destiny by yourself, they made repeated efforts to nudge my thinking in a more socially minded direction. You'll have at least three classes of Guardians to choose from: Hunter, Warlock, and Titan (left to right). “Everything that’s fun to do is more fun to do with your friends,” Jones mused. Naturally, of course, there will also be a fully featured competitive multiplayer mode, though neither Jones nor anyone else from Bungie was willing to offer even a hint about any details just yet. Well, other than the fact that you won’t be forced to engage in player-vs.-player combat unless you explicitly desire to. Pillar #6: Enjoyable By All Skill Levels He also made a point to emphasize that Destiny seeks to appease everyone from shooter neophytes to hardcore FPS players. “All core activities can be enjoyed by a novice player,” Jones promised. That, he intimated, is not hard. “What’s hard is keeping it interesting for your advanced players.” Pillar #7: Enjoyable by the Impatient and Distracted Destiny is alive whether you’re in it or not. But you’re busy can’t live there 24/7. To that end, a Destiny mobile phone app – shown as a prerecorded iOS demo this time – illustrated how the game could send you updates about new quests and what your friends are up to. Bungie also teased that you may be able to use the mobile connection to affect your friends’ games, but declined to provide any additional details. This image is interestingly titled "Hellmouth." Can't imagine why... Within the game proper, Jones said they know that players “don’t want to work hard, they don’t want to read, and they don’t’ want to go to the Internet to figure out our bull****.” In other words, they understand that what they’re making is escapist entertainment. “This has led us to a huge investment in [user interface],” Jones explained. Clearly, Bungie has a story to tell and information to convey, but they don’t want to bog you down with any of it. What Else? Talk about "dead space"... Bungie art director Christopher Barrett dubbed Destiny a “mythic science fiction” universe and shared a number of locales we can look forward to visiting: the Cosmodome Breach, the ruins on the edge of the European Dead Zone, the swamps of Old Chicago (likely a nod to Bungie’s original home city), derelict fleets floating in the rings of Saturn, the earth Moon’s Hellmouth, the uncharted depths of Reef, giant obsidian pyramid ships, mile-long tomb ships, and much more. Then there are the characters we’ll be encountering: fellow Guardians in at least the Titan, Warlock, and Hunter classes; the Fallen, the time-traveling robots known as the Vex, the aforementioned Cabal, Spider Pirates and their rusted machines, evil space zombies, the FOTC (apparently a Guardian faction of some kind) and...that's everything they'd cough up for now. So in the mean time what are your thoughts on this, do you think it's destiny related, do you like the look of it? It looks a bit similar to this character in the concept art below. View full article

  9. Yesterday bungie tweeted that an ARG (alternate reality game) has begun for destiny and it begins at this site http://alphalupi.bungie.net/. ARG's have been used for bungies games since Halo 2 back in 2004 which was I Love Bees (ILB) and IRIS for Halo 3. So for Destiny another one begins and once clicking on the linked site provided above a series of dots is presented which are geomantic symbols and you are required to align them up in a correct order and it will reveal a picture. You will be required to do this for each one on each day of this week. For anyone who has missed yesterdays (like myself) you can still go back and do that one. So if you are into this kind of thing then get cracking and solves the puzzles. Stay tuned here for updates http://www.343indust...-1/#entry241436 View full article
  10. 343 Industries has announced in this weeks bulletin that they will be shutting down the servers for Halo 2 vista, they said the reason for this is because the population has only been 20 at it's peak. "To switch gears ever so slightly, we’re sad to report that the service end-date for Halo 2 PC Multiplayer will be February 15, 2013. We’ve been monitoring the population for months, and it’s been peaking consistently at approximately 20 players or less. Those that own this game can continue to enjoy Multiplayer over LAN after that date; however our network services will be turned off at that time. We love you, Halo 2 PC, and you will live forever in our hearts" So for those few who still play it try and get in as much games as you can before the lights are switched off and the doors are locked for good. Goodbye Halo 2 vista we love you.

I was assured by all that the next could give me the code I was promised but so far nothing. Please somebody put me in touch with someone in 343i that can give support or can pass me to someone who will definetly be able to give me the code, or a license on XBL to download the content... thanks for any helpful responses
  12. After being in the dark for quite some time bungie shed's some light on how they are preparing for their next game Destiny and how they as a company are holding up. Nothing exclusive about destiny has been revealed yet but we are expecting something in late March. This article is from Edge Issue 250 of Edge, on sale today, features an exclusive profile of Bungie, the studio which cemented its place in videogame legend with the 50 million-selling Halo series and which is now working on its first project for Activision, codenamed Destiny. The game has been shrouded in secrecy ever since Bungie signed a ten-year deal with Activision in 2010 – until last November, that is. Art assets which had been handed to an advertising agency ended up in the hands of gaming websites; Bungie, to its credit, took ownership of the leak, giving fans a first official look at some of the game’s concept art in a post on its website. Speaking to us as part of an in-depth studio profile, writer and design director Joseph Staten recalls the day of the leak. “I was in a conference room,” he tells us. “And Pete [Parsons, COO] walked in with his laptop. Pete has this look on him when he’s a little nervous and his eyes get really wide; his entire body was quivering. “I think our response was typical Bungie. We just took it in our stride and, instead of making it a negative, we turned it into a positive. We initiated a conversation with our fans, which we hadn’t done in a really long time. And I think having done that, the great reaction that we got from it really made us all very excited internally. It motivated us.” The feature charts the history of Bungie, which began life as a Chicago-based developer of Mac games before Halo caught Microsoft’s eye, the studio upping sticks and taking up residence on the Xbox maker’s Redmond campus. Time magazine once described that office as “a low-rent nerd farm in the middle of a pumpkin patch”; now the company occupies a sprawling converted multiplex cinema in Bellevue, the Seattle suburb that Valve also calls home. And the similarities with Gabe Newell’s company don’t end there. All Bungie’s desks are on wheels – and have been since 2005, Parsons assures us, lest we think it was a change made last year after Valve’s workplace culture was exposed in a leaked staff handbook – and even the most junior staff are given creative input. It’s a remarkably stable company, too, avoiding falling into the hire-ship-fire loop to which so many big studios succumb. Success helps, of course, but stability is an important part of the Bungie philosophy, as music director Marty O’Donnell explains. “There was a very conscious decision when we went independent from Microsoft,” O’Donnell, the man behind Halo’s classic soundscapes, tells us. “We wanted to make a game company that didn’t get into the habit of swelling its ranks in order to finish a project, and then letting a bunch of people go. We wanted to figure out a way to make a place where people could come and work and stay.” And so it’s proved. Half of the team that worked on the original Halo is still at the studio. Staff are shareholders, so everyone stands to benefit from the studio’s success – which could hit new heights this year, given that Bungie, not Activision, owns the Destiny IP. For the full story of how Bungie is preparing for what looks to be a very interesting year indeed, you’ll need the latest issue of Edge. E250 is on sale now, and it’s a packed issue, with the inaugural Edge Developer Awards – our pick of the 50 best studios on the planet. There’s a 12-page feature on the number one studio, Valve, and reviews of the likes of DmC: Devil May Cry and Ni No Kuni: Wrath Of The White Witch. Edge is available in print, on Android through Google Play or Zinio, and in award-winning, interactive form for iPad on Apple Newsstand. View full article

  14. Am I the only one who really really misses the close quarter, fast paced, Assualt Rifle games? like in halo 3. I feel like Halo 4 multiplayer is all about who gets the first DMR shot first or who misses the first couple of DMR shots. DMRs DMRs DMRs. I think it was way more balanced in Halo 3. I should never EVER be raging on halo. I probably sound like one of those punks that gets mad everytime I die, but no, that's not it. I'm not one of those extra hardcore MLG players that are so serious, but I do rage on Halo 4 every once in a while. Halo 4 is the only halo that has made me angry over multiplayer. COD is the only game you should rage on. These ordinance things, tactical packages/perks or whatever.. it's just not halo man. Campaign was incredibly awesome. It's just the multiplayer. I seriously don't even give to ****s about online anymore. I'm just overly excited for Halo 5's single player mode. Bungie was different. Both multiplayer and single player was just incredibly enjoyable. Does anyone feel the same about this? hmph... stupid DMRs
  15. In late march bungie will finally be discussing about their next game destiny, the discussion will be held at GDC (game developers conference) at the Moscone Centre in San Francisco. Further details below. This article is from Gamespot. Bungie will discuss its all-new and still-unannounced franchise--believed to be titled Destiny--in late March during a 2013 Game Developers Conference talk at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California. Presumably, a more formal announcement for Destiny is planned for sometime prior to the talk. Neither Bungie nor Activision had returned requests for comment at press time. Bungie writer and design director Joe Staten and art director Christopher Barrett will lead the discussion, titled "Brave New World: New Bungie IP." The talk will focus on Bungie's design process and world-building techniques, running from concept to production. Those in attendance will get a glimpse inside Bungie's new world, though it's not clear what state the game will be in during the briefing. Additionally, the event description suggests the next ten years of games from Bungie will be based in the Destiny universe. To date, Bungie has released just one piece of artwork for Destiny, but speculation has run rampant. A leaked marketing document in November described Destiny as a "fun and accessible" game with a "deep, tangible, and relatable" universe compared to Star Wars. The game is also described as "social at its core." According to the document, Destiny's plot revolves around an alien ship bent on destroying Earth and the "knights" tasked with defending what's left of humanity. The document also shows images bearing the Destiny logo along with Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 icons. Destiny is Bungie's first project as part of a 10-year publishing deal with Call of Duty company Activision. Legal documents from May suggested that the game will be released for the Xbox 360 in 2013, with a 2014 release slated for the PlayStation 3. View full article
  16. Well, 343 have now had their [thanks Ventus!] chance and now we start off 343's adventure with Halo 4. The question is, did 343 do a good job? My personal opinion? No. And here's why: The campaign felt like riding a banana through a giant glowing toothpaste tube whilst chanting satanic hymns and smacking trumpets over our heads. But that makes no sense! And that's the whole point; the campaign made absolutely no sense. Where the hell did these Promethean things come from? Who the **** is the "Didact"? What the hell was even going on? None of the crap that happened in this game has any reference to any other Halo. I guess it is 4 years after the events of Halo 3 but I hope 343 have some methods of getting the story out to us in the near future. My only problem is why couldn't they just put that all in the game? The campaign in the other games had some sort of direction and played a good addition to the Halo storyline. This though... The campaign feels completely random and out of line. Next for the multiplayer... When I first played Halo 4's "War Games" it seemed like Halo 3 again, but this time, far too over-done. And not only has it been over-done, it's not really that fun anymore, all the maps are fairly basic, there are barely any playlists and various gamemodes, and Halo 4 is now catered towards MLG try-hards. 343 even confessed this, but I thought Halo was all about "f**k realism, it's all about fun!"?. It has had improvements compared to Halo Reach (lack of armour lock FTW) but that doesn't particularly mean it's great. Also, what the heck is the point in "Infinity War Games"? Why the hell does multiplayer need some sort of story to it now? Just for realism? Well it pulls away from the fun of Halo! Which brings me to custom games... Oh God... In addition to multiplayer, the custom games are actually kinda terrible. Remember the days when all we played was Infection on Halo 3? No matter what map, no matter what crazy setups there were, we always played infection because it was just so damn fun. In Halo 4 they gave the infected unique player models, which is honestly pretty cool, but here is the MAJOR problem with infection in Halo 4: The customisation. What the f**k happened to it? You can't even change the Infected's loadouts! Infection is basically the reason custom games in Halo 3 were SO popular. Infection in Halo 4 has now been dramatically watered down. You can't even use weapons on the map anymore, let alone change the colour of the human players! I assume this is all because it's ****ty "Infinity War Games s00pah srs re4listik xdddd" now. I think the only thing that didn't fail too much in this game is Forge, but it didn't really improve much if at all from Halo Reach. (no Forge World... why. just f**king why.) Overall, my opinion on Halo 4: On its own it's a great game to play, but as a Halo... Uck, no. For now I will stick to playing mediocre "War Games" just to unlock the EOD armour (of all the armour permutations in this game, EOD is one of the only decent looking ones) and then I have no idea after that. I've been a fan of Halo since the first one, and now I am extremely skeptical about following on with the series. Anyway, that's my thoughts. What do YOU think of Halo 4, and do you still have hope in 343? I know I don't. P.S. This isn't a hate thread! I just personally thought Halo 4 was a bit of a disappointment and am interested in other's opinions P.S.S Title should say 'their'.... herp a derpa doo Bungie... please come back
  17. Well twas the night before the launch, so I bid a fond farewell to Reach for the foreseeable future, and an even fonder farewell to Bungie (been a solid blast all these years, so eager to play Destiny and fully expect to be blown away when it eventually comes out). And I bid a massive hello to 343i & map creators Certain Affinity (proper after Anni). And the might that is Halo 4.
  18. I was looking at a review page for Halo 4, and super-sized the image of Chief and some mountains in the background. I noticed what looks like purposeful lighting and texture definitions in the mountrain rocks to the right of the picture. Looks like a human skull, possibly a spartan helmet, and maybe even a grunt head. Tell me what you think!
  19. Okay, here is how it works: 1. Find the person above you on this thread. 2. Find something good about this persons Reach stats. 3. Comment on it. 4. Someone then will comment on you. #RULES# 1. Only say nice things (keep the halo community nice!) 2. If nobody says anything about you after you comment just put "Comment Please" on the thread. 3. Have Fun with it! I used to love this on the bungie forums and just because there are new owners, that doesn't mean we can't have fun Good luck 343i on halo 4, it looks great.
  20. Okay, so i bought the halo anniversary map pack as soon as it came out and it wont let me play the map pack. I've tried redownloading it and everything i can think of and NOTHING WORKS!! I really need help because i just started playing halo reach again since halo 4 comes out soon.

Spawning is key in this map and has been placed strategically to allow chances for a player to help teammates or in Capture the Flag put the player in a position to make quick decisive action depending on where the flag is ran. No high point is over powerful in this map because of the pieces of cover and line of sight breakers being used threw out the map, leading to an extremely balanced game. Pictures are below. Here is a above view of the middle of the map. Straight below the view you have (Which can not be seen)is the grenade launcher spawn. Which can be accessed by 2 lifts on either side. Or the top middle bridge itself. We also get our first look at the top middle layout along with the first floor cover pieces. (Left and Right) Here is a view of Red Base. We can see the patio where the Red Team Flag would be located in Capture the Flag. Also we can see the multiple access points located on the left and right of the patio. To the left is the main walkway. A Red light has been placed on the base to solidify the team the Base belongs. No framerate problems with the lights. Same with the Blue Base. Here we have the look at the front of Blue Base. As this can be easily seen the base is completely symmetrical to the Red Base. Here we have the first bottom middle view. Above the view you see is where grenade launcher spawns. (Top Lift) The lifts are located on either side of the walls, though not visible, left and right or the screen. These lifts are one way shields, therefore they make no noise when used. We can also see the line of site breakers in bottom middle. An interesting piece which creates and interesting battle in bottom middle. A health pack is located right behind the view this image gives us. This is also a neutral spawn area. Here is another view of bottom middle, but this time on the opposite side of the map. No lifts are located in this area. And the health pack is behind the view this provides once again. The walkway that spans the whole side of the map is located above this view. This is a neutral spawn area. Here we get a full length view of the Underneath Walkways side of Blue Base. There is a line of sight breaker immediatley ahead and further up. This area has no spawn in it for its lack of protection. Even though this area is commonly avoided by players. Making this a good flanking run on the enemy. Here we have the underneath walkway side of Red Base. We have the same line of sight breakers as on the Blue Base Side. Here is the view of top middle from the top walkway perspective. Here we can see the bridges from each base the feel of the map more effectively. The walkway is the same height as top middle so the image we see is a bird’s view of the area. Below this photo, though not in view, is a neutral spawn area based around a piece of cover. Here is the open side of Blue Base and as we can see there are line of sight breakers so players on the other side of top middle cannot see all the way through. Here is the first look at grenade launcher spawn. And the open side of Blue Base. Here is the inside look at the Red Lobby of Reds Base. A nice ceiling height allowing full jump and close quarter turns around each wall opening to the wider portion of the base. Here we can see Blue Lobby of Blues base. It is the exact same design as Reds Base. I would like to thank all very close friends of mine who helped test the map.I would also like to thank anyone in advanced for submitting feedback to the map. It means a lot.
  22. Hi first post ok so im brazilian and i love halo the first one i played was halo 3 and it came out with the audio in portuguese. Same with ODST and Reach I really apreciate the whole idea and concern from microsoft and bungie when it comes to turn the game a more embracing experience for everybody in every country and **** but i also would love to hear the original audio of the game (i've seen the manking ofs and the behind the scenes) when Halo: CE came out it was brilliant because the audio was not in portuguese, but there was 'subtitle' option, and that is just perfect. Being that the first game 343 launched, my question is Will Halo 4 have the audio ONLY in portuguese ( or any other language, depending on the country) or will everybody be able to choose between the original audio and the dubbed one ? Peace Out.
  23. Halo Community Unity I have recently been looking over some posts by Twinreaper and myself and have thought about our community and how we are doing. It feels like we are really pulling together again and I feel like we should extend our desire to bring the Halo community together beyond our forum. Take it into match making and the various other places that you interact with Halo fans. We have a brand new game that can offer a brand new start are bringing the community back together and move forward into the future of Halo. 343 Studios has done their part in creating a game that best speaks to the various interests of all of Halo's sub cultures. Where it can not be the one single game any one fan or group can say they wanted as a whole, it reflects as much a possible what they felt was needed for the community, the franchise and to step into the future with a new gaming experience. Twinreaper made this comment in his thread: "Anyone who would go to various websites around the net, could plainly see how divided and segregated we have allowed ourselves to become. Because of the fragile nature of a community with various sub-cultures, we lost our main goal. Our main goal used to be a simple fun gaming experience in which we all participated, respected one another, and worked towards making the gaming experience a great one, for all walks of life and gaming preferences. Now, we have sub-cultures who would rather shun, insult, ignore and plain out despise any other sub-culture whom does not share the same views. This is dangerous! This alone is why Halo is failing as a community and a franchise. We have lost ourselves among the years of gameplay and interactions resulting their of." This is not true of all sub cultures, but it is still a fact within the community. The casuals vs the hyper competitive's of the 'noobs' vs the experienced are some of the divisions he was referring to. You have to lead by the example of how you interact with others in the community, how you represent yourself. Are you a positive influence or someone who promotes negativity. Jeevo 92 offered this in my thread: "Yes. We are. Whether we realize it or not we NEED to be. So by necessity we are ready. I may not answer posts like I should sometimes. Sometimes I let my viewpoint be the ONLY viewpoint that I allow to be said without me totally tearing that person apart. But that's not right. We are all the same in one way...... we play Halo. We are gamer's and we play Halo. I read some of the books, I have all of the games...but that does not make me better or more of a fan than say, (for the sake of what I am saying) little Johnny who is 8 (thats about how old i was when i played Halo CE for the first time) and who just joined the forums an just got Halo Anniversary. His opinion and ideas should have just as much respect as a member who has been here since the beginnin of the games. He is one of us and deserves our respect and our comradeship." So whether here in the forum or out among our community we should always make the real effort to find the things that unify us rather than separate us from each other. Bungie created this whole experience for us and did so well for so long to support the community in a wide variety of ways. We need to continue the tradition of finding ways to appreciate what we have and embrace what the future will bring.
  24. Imagine if you have never played halo before, you've always been a CoD/Battlefield man, and you are about to delve into the world of halo, it can be quite scary, but also quite a fun experience as you will notice while obviously the game is very different, it always to seem to have a competitive aspect, something that both CoD and BF lack in that respect. So lets get started, so again, imagine you've just bought halo reach, and you have never played any other Halo's before, and you are worried about what its gonna be like, if your going to suck at it or not, or if you will do well. 1. Play the Campaign. You'll be surprised how many people don't actully play the campaign and just go straight into multiplayer, this is never a good idea as if you don't know the weapons and how to use them, you will get ****** over quite badly. Now i understand that the Campaign in Halo reach probably isn't the best campaign ever, but it is quite good at letting you use every weapon (Sniper, DMR, AR, Etc) and letting u get good with it at your own progress, the campaign is pretty good for a new halo player, & can certainly help you a lot and make you much a better player, by the time you finished the campaign, you will be surprised how much better you are at the game already. 2. Play with Friends! (Campaign/Multiplayer) You'll be surprised how much friends make a difference in a game, as they can guide you in the right direction and try to tell you mistakes you make, and can overall can just make the game more fun and exciting, as you know you can have fun while playing. Instead of finding some super-serious Kids who think winning is the be-all and end-all, you can play with friends & have a much more fun and enjoyable time because, they will kind of let you learn at your own pace as you won't have people screaming down their mic "YOU SUCK! QUIT THE *Insert Language* GAME!* Im now going to Imagine you have finished the Campaign and have played a few multiplayer matches, and you are kind of experienced. 3. Play Team Slayer and stick with it for a bit. In my opinion, Team slayer is a nice way of getting up in skill levels and skill in general, because, in team slayer, there are a LOT of people who don't know what they are doing, bit like the person who is going to read this (presuming they are new) and will be in the EXACT same position as you, new, just got out of the campaign, and are ready to try their luck at multiplayer, i will talk about winning/losing next, but for now, just stick with team slayer and play it for a bit, until you have a good idea of what you are doing and are enjoying the game mostly, if you aren't enjoying the game, you mighyt as well not play it, because the #1 reason you play any game, is because you enjoy it, hell, if you don't enjoy something, don't do it simple as. 4. Don't worry about winning/losing The one thing that makes me mad in ANY game, is people's Ego's and the fact they think winning and losing is the be all and end all, because, in reach anyway, Winning and losing means **** all, as long as you are enjoying yourself and want to keep playing, that is good enough. As Day[9] would say: "GET YOUR EGO OUT OF THE F****** GAME!" don't go into a game thinking your going to be the best instantly, because, lets be honest, unless you are naturally talented at gaming, you are not going to be great at it instantly, just keep playing and ignore all the hate people will give you 5. Move Onto Other Playlists Im going to presume now you are doing Ok in team slayer, getting about 8+ kills, and dying a lot less then you were, lets say when its your first game of Team slayer, you are a better player already, so now you should move onto different playlists, whether is Team Objective, BTB, or Swat, any of them are good, just, again, as long as you are learning and enjoying yourself, for now, that is all that matters. I wouldn't recommend the following playlists until you are really good (i will explain why not to pick them in the next entry i do.) 1. MLG. 2. Team Snipers In Entry #2, i will be explaining about the DMR in great detail, why not to go into MLG and Team Snipers, as well as Positioning in certain maps and how to use a sniper effeicentally, i hope you enjoyed reading this, and i hope you can't wait for entry #2 (Will Be Done Every Wednesday & Sunday Until Told Different) Have fun in halo reach! 25. Hey, We're making a machinima series and while we have a lot of ideas about the direction of the season (and beyond), we at Superior Masters Productions were wondering if anyone had suggestions for what they'd like to see in a machinima. Our series is called Chimera Team Alpha and is a comedy adventure series following the post-war exploits of a Spartan-Elite team, usually exploring the mysterious Forge World. Our most recent episode (Episode 2: Point of View) can be found on our channel here: Our first episode (Episode 1: A Hard Place) can be found on the 343icommunity channel here: (Admittedly, Episode 2 is better and probably is the best one to see first.) Thanks, x Master Rob x
