  1. I am going to be testing a bunch of maps of all kinds and game types anyone can join feedback would be nice! GT: RiseAgainstCode
  2. I know people normally complain about ragnarok being played to much, but lately I have noticed a significant increase in the amount of times exile is being voted in bts. It's like every time i get thrown in to a match it's on exile. The game needs more maps I know but until then i think there should be more balance in the choices (maybe 343 should throw erosion into the vote), I don't know if it's just me but ragnarok hardly even comes up for vote anymore.
  3. Okay, so these two maps are two attempts at building the same thing (i.e. a space station), the first attempt having fallen short of my initial vision. Both maps are symmetrical. I named the failed attempt Derelict and decided to finish it enough to be played in slayer (no objectives), compensating for the map's inadequacies by giving the whole thing a trait zone enabling double jump and half gravity (and quarter fall damage), removing the glass from all over to allow for the outside of the station to become part of the playable area of the map, and threw down a whole bunch of heavy weapons (none of which was intended at first). My second attempt is named Observatory and definitely lived up to my vision (albeit barely, 9,970 spent and I already hit the unwritten limit on total objects, and I had to go back repeatedly swapping decorative pieces for less expensive substitutes, not to mention delete a whole bunch of spawn points). The map is enabled for 4-16 players (Red, Blue, Gold and Green teams) on Capture the Flag, King of the Hill, Free for All, Flood, and Oddball. It has multiple levels in the middle with a pair of heavy weapons (Railguns, Scattershots and Concussion Rifles, in that order from top to bottom) on each of the lower 3 levels (4 total). The docking ring of the station connects to the 2nd level of the mid-section (2 levels above, 1 below). Sections are colored by quadrant to assist in navigation (internal walls are colored specifically to indicate which path leads to which quadrant, outer walls are colored accordingly with the color of the quadrant in which they reside).
  4. So I've noticed something. I have never gotten a sword in big team battle even once. It isn't just that though. I have never been killed by one, nor have I ever even seen one on the map or in anyones hands since the game came out. Big team battle players dont get to use the sword. Then I was reminded of something 343 said before the game came out: "The items that spawn in ordnance drops are going to be set specifically so that nothing that doesnt make sence for the map will spawn" So this means that they determined that the sword being a close quarters weapon in their eyes would no make sence on big team battle maps and therefore players will be denyed access to it.....even though the gravity hammer which requires you to get even closer is still available......and the shotgun...... I want my sword on Ragnerok please.
  5. Before I delve into my gripes about Halo 4, I have to say, this game is awesome. I love it. I just see many limitations especially as time progresses. I want this game to be successful so these are just my thoughts/changes wanted. 1.) Big Team Battles. Ok so this may be my biggest issue overall. The main thing I used to play were Big Team Battles, and now that we only have Slayer, it's very depressing and gets boring. I desperately want Big Team CTF, I poured hours into that game mode in the past and now that we don't have it, I find myself getting annoyed/bored already. My fix would be to imsply implement these game modes, I don't see this being an issue at all really. 2.) Weapons. Now my problems here aren't the weapons implemented into the game, overall, I have no problems with the weapons themselves. My problem is with the weapons on the maps, or the lack there-of. There aren't even pistols available. Very few grenades. Overall, I just feel no variations on the battlefield from one battle to another, which is what made Halo famous. I see two-possible options here. More ordinances but reduce the lickliness of power-weapons. Or, simply place weapons on the map. 3.) Warthogs. Arguably the most faous vehicle within the series and it's ignored in every game I have yet to enter. I think the issue is just the lack of armor. A couple DMR's rip into the 'Hog which really shuld be the case. 4.) Forge/File Sharing. I'm not sure what the issue is here but when you look for any files; whether it be videos or custom maps, nothing shows up when you search or go to a section like "Most Downloaded." 5.) Custom Games. We should be able to search for custom games that players are currently playing. Just make the games unranked. I just think this would be a fun way to variate the game, practice, and see what creations other players have done. Just moy thoughts towards the game. Let me know what your's are.
  6. I just had to make an account to say this: 343, please please please make it so there is a playlist where big teams are only matched up against other big teams. I just played 3 BTBs where the other team were mostly inheritors and half to most of my team quit. Who else feels the same way as I do?
  7. Wow, posting my second map in a day. Well ok, here we go. Overheated is a asymmetrical BTB map themed a UNSC military base based around a volcanic pool that once powered the entire city of New Mombasa. This map offers a variety of gameplay, from long range DMR fights to intense warthog chases to sneaky shotgun fights. This map supports CTF, but it's recommended to just do BTB. Download Link: http://halo.xbox.com/en-us/haloreach/Kon3Z/fileshare#!/?section=MapVariants&MapId=&GameMode=0&SearchDate=7&SortBy=2&view-select=Tile&tags=&startIndex=0&details=30872311 Here's an overview: Here's the spawns: Red Team: Blue Team: Also, there are a variety of weapons on the map. the power weapons include the following: A Rocket Launcher: A Spartan Laser: A Sniper Rifle: and Two Shotguns: If you noticed, the rocket launcher spawns over the lava. If you're above the lava pool, you have 10 seconds until you die, but if you unlucky enough to fall into the lava, you die. Because of this, it gives the map a nice, and dangerous twist. But if your to scared, you can just stay away from there . Here's a few gameplay shots: I spent a lot of time on the map and I hope you give it a review, but if you don't atleast some feedback! Thanks. -Kon3Z
  8. so i was playing btb today, and i jumped in the banshee, i got maybe 5 kills before going down. thought maybe i was just a little "rusty" since i had not been online in a while. but it kept happening game after game. i felt like i was takeing less fire but going down faster, then before i quit playing for about a month. got to talking to my freinds, same thing was happening to them as well. Did 343 weaking the vehicles again? anyone no why they did if they did? and how can we get the vehicles back to normal. it use to take a coordinated team all fireing at a vehicle to take it down quikly, now if feels as a couple of people can take one in the same amount of time it use to take an entire team. Has this happend to anyone else?
  9. I am attempting to build a BTB Urban Warfare map. So I need forgers who are good at making urban areas in forge world, along with people who are good at balanced vehicle/weapon placement. This map will be for BTB (16 players). It is a small part of a city, with enterable buildings and vehicles. There will be both vertical and horizontal movement throughout the city, making it favorable for both ground guys and jet-packers. There will be Sniper posts and Falcon pads either at each base or at the tops of buildings. The map will be asymmetrical, so everything is balanced and there's no cross mapping (from the ground). Enterable buildings' doors will be highlighted blue (some buildings you can't actually go inside, it's just a teleporter from top to bottom. There will be a few docks, so you can see that water and jump in as well. I'm thinking about adding cranes, and maybe even a building under construction (all accessible). If you are interested in helping, message my Xbox LIVE account or leave a comment below.
  10. Forum to discuss you favorite BTB and Heavies maps so far, things you like and dont like about them, and things you would change. Also a place to discuss Ideas about making BTB maps. Maybe discuss what are your favorite BTB gametypes? Maps that should be in circulation more?
  11. Hello there. It seems you've come here for one of two reasons: You want to play some awsome new maps with a bunch of cool people; or you have a Big Team or Invasion map that you've created and want to playtest it and get valuable feedback. Wheter you're a casual player, MLG fan, vehicle fanatic, or just like to relax with some cool people, this playtest customs lobby is for you. Now, before i get onto the details, i'd like to give you some basic information on what playtesting is and why you're vital to the process. Playtesting is a critical stage in the development of a map, and the more a map recieves, the better it becomes. It's also the longest phase of building a map, taking as much as 3/5ths to 2/3rdsof the actual development of a map. It's the stage when maps are played on to find problems with the map, and the more it's played on, the more problems can be found and fixed. The very maps you've played on in matchmaking are the result of dozens of matches played on them, with each game played having some kind of tweak or another that fixed an issue present on the previous version played. When a player finds an isuue, they tell the lobby in the post-game lobby and voice their opinion on what they liked and don't like. This is known to forgers and playtesters as "giving feedback" You yourself are a vital part of this playtesting phase because you are unique. You playstyle is unique and different than anyone else. You'll approch the same bridge differently and drive into areas that no one else has or snipe from the trickiest of ledges to get to, and any problems you encouter is valuable information. The way you play allows for the designer to address all sorts of issues to make the map as perfect as possible. You opinions are vital to the progress of any map, so become a playtester by joining our customs lobby and have your voice heard. Who knows? Maybe you'll get to play on the next map that's going to be featured in you favorite playlist. ------The details for this Friday night test lobby (how to sign up, how to request you map to be played, and rules) will be posted below. This may even become a regular thing here at 343i.org.---- There will be two roles in this lobby, playtester, and forger, but there's really no difference other than name. Here's the breakdown of the roles Playtester- You just want to have a good time. don't have a map? No problem! you just need to play, and state 3 things: 1) What you DIDN'T like, and why; 2) What you DID like and; 3)any issue you found with the map Forger- Bring a map! Write up a map request, and we'll play it and give you feedback to improve it. If it's not your map, you have the same obligations as a playtester, which is just to give some simple feedback. Now for the most important part of any structured customs lobby, The Rules. -Leader will be passed around, no leader nazi-ing. You got a map that you've requesed to play? we'll put it in a que -Maps that are a priority (relevent to the test theme- i.e. BTB, 4v4, action sack, ect...) that are requested will be played first. Then the order will be a mix of maps from Blueprint that are relevant, (max of 4) then Non-relevant map requests, then a popular vote of minigames, competitive maps, and basically anything else, even matchmaking! -No yelling, screaming, playing loud music into the mic, or other ear-raping activities -Leaving early is frowned upon, so make sure to invite someone (preferralby with a mic) before you leave -no use of exccessive swearing, bigotry, racist comments, insults, or making terrible jokes -People who requestes their maps to be played by posting on 343i.org will be played first, and requests for maps not in the "qeue" will be played later. -most importantly, Have a good time! There are 2 submission forms, one is the basic playtester, and the other is the Forger submission. please copy the form, paste it into the reply box, and fill out the information. *note, since b.net online fileshares are down, please list map TAGS that are on you map. If none are added, add one with the title of the map being the tag. Forger's sumission template
