This map is located on a distant arctic planet with perilous drop offs that only the most daring Spartans dare to reside here. There is two bases and towers wrapping around a yard full of bunkers. The rockets in the center are easily combated with alternating damage boost and oversheilds in opposite towers. Master Chief had a short stay on his way to Earth after destroying the first Halo ring. He left a present in the wings of the map for future Spartans, but the recipients must be frugal as there is only one clip left. Training on this map is set up for both Slayer and Capture the Flag. It will hold between 2-8 players, but is best for 2v2. Are you up for the challenge? Can you stay aware of your surroundings? Or, will you succumb to the perils of The Ice Pick... Players: 2-8 (ideal for 2v2 and 3v3) Gametypes: Slayer and CTF Weapons: Rocket Launcher, DMR Battle Rifle, SMG, H1 Pistol, Storm Rifle, Suppressor Grenades: Plasma, frag, Splinter Power ups: Overshield, Damage boost (They spawn on opposite towers a minute apart. I'm sorry if I appear a stick in the mud.But lately I've been noticing things very upsetting to me.I've been playing Warzone & Arena(Mostly Slayer) lately.I've played long enough to know I'm not going to win every match.Win some.Lose some.But it doesn't mean I have to lose EVERY match.Too many times lately when I've lost.It was EXTREMELY LOPSIDED.Which obviously means there are STILL BALANCING ISSUES.I thought this was supposed to be dealt with.I can't be the only one.I've heard other players complaining as well.I really enjoy WELL BALANCED matches against players of EQUAL skill.NOT the kind of matches I've noticed lately.Once again.I apologize.WHAT'S THE POINT IN PLAYING WHEN YOU GET DOMINATED ALL THE TIME.WHAT GIVES?????
  3. Well everyone! It's that time of the month again, where we get to see the new REQs and such that are coming to Halo 5: Guardians within the week! So, the big rewards- We can clearly see that the new armor set Decimator, is actually a re-imagining of the default Mark V Variant worn by the mighty Noble Six, back in Halo: Reach. We also see that there is a new armor set called Marauder, which looks pretty cool! Now, some of the juicy stuff, we can see some Jumpmaster skins, not bad. The long awaited Gravity Hammer, as well as the Grifball emblem and what appears to be a new set of Warzone attachments. Maybe a new energy attachment. Also, we CAN NOT forget that Hammer stance. With gametypes, we clearly see that Grifball, Assault, and Fiesta are finally making a return. With the hopes of hopefully Infection coming next month. There's also a new Arena map, which looks to be the inside of a UNSC space station of some sort. Okay, okay. Enough stalling. On to the predictions- which is where I guess the armor, weapon skins, and all that stuff that is blurred out to see how many I get right. Emblems, I most likely won't try my luck at. Weapon Skins: Skins that are reminiscent of the Battle Rifle Blast skins back from Halo 4... Stances: Stance with the classic CE Magnum, labeled "Old School". Visor: ...Blue n' purple? Assassinations: The Legendary one looks like you're kneeing them in the back of the head, while the Ultra Rare one looks like you're pounding both your hands into them, one of those hands holding a knife. Armor: Two Helioskrill Reskins. Two Marauder Reskins. One Shinobi Reskin. Warzone REQ Items: Mythic REQ - CE Magnum. Two Storm Rifle variants. Some kind of energy shank... thingy... Oh, and for those of you who love your colors... Colors have been expanded from 32 to 60 And emblems will no longer be restricted to preset color choices, consisting of primary, secondary, and tertiary! Have fun, kiddo! Halo Online had better go worldwide, after seeing this I may need to move to Russia if it doesn't. A user managed to find a clear quality trailer that is about 1:15 worth of action and customization details. The game will have a system of buying items, in three categories, Standard, Premium, and Platinum, or they can be unlocked. Weapons will be FULLY customizable, meaning BRs, ARs, and DMRs that deal with separate qualities such as a heavy style BR with NO RAILS. Some armors I noticed were Cain, NI-Hard, Gladiator, Paladin, Renegade, Soldier, Air Assault, Scout, Mongoose (interesting), Mirmillion, EOD, Boxhead, Breaker, Samurai (Hayabusa), Iron (War Master), Stealth, Rogue, Ninja, Defender, Pilot, Hoplite (returning from Halo 2 Anniversary), Mercenary, and Buzzsaw. And that's likely a drop in the water compared to what is actually in the game. They showed off a host of maps including GUARDIAN, and what looks like a reskinned Blood Gulch. As well, old fan favorite guns return such as the Mauler, Storm Rifle, and the BRUTE PLASMA RIFLE. Also, something strange is most of the text is in English... While they're marketing this to a Russian audience... Hmm. There are more details to be found by Reddit, but until then, look at these juicy screenshots below. So excited... SO EXCITED.   10. With oxygen becoming a scarce resource, this facility was designed to harness the power of the trees. This is a large, very fun and symmetrical arena-style map. There are 2 identical bases, man cannons for vertical travel, snipers on each base, rockets, an Energy Sword, and a few random drops. Oh, and the top level of the map is a greenhouse. It is recommended that 6-16 players play this map. It supports Infinity Slayer and Capture the Flag. Other game modes may be added.   11. Chronos Chronos is a medium sized symmetrical ring shaped map for 4V4 matches. The idea of this map was to create a somewhat circular map with different "rings" circling an enclosed atrium in the center. The result was a Forerunner themed structure slowly being taken back by nature with various height differences and crossing sightlines through the middle atrium. Slayer and Hill played as well as I had hoped. However, CTF and Swat were surprise hits on this map, offering a lot more depth than I had anticipated with those gametypes. The straight shot through the deadly center made Flag surprisingly fun, forcing players to skirt around the edges with the flag. And the varied sightlines through the center and segmentation of the map makes for some great Swat matches. Any and all feedback is appreciated!
  12. Gamertag: FaNeNL Map : Radix Canvas Map: Forge Island Supported Gametype: Slayer, KotH, Oddball, CTF. Best: Slayer, KotH Team Size: 4v4 Radix is a small arena styled map. The shape of the map is build in an octagon shape, so players can walk smoothly trough the entire map without being blocked. The map's got a good coverage and there are always ways to get out a bad situation. There are not real bases, but there are 3 main buildings where you walk the most: Red and Blue on the side and very close to each other, and you've got the big Yellow building on the other side.   13. I am disappointed to announce my resignation to the halo legacy. I have played halo for 11 years, and have contributed so much to the halo community as far as competitive gaming goes. In halo reach we were introduced to a true competitive platform called arena. Although many disliked arena, it was because they reached a level they could not surpass because of their lack of skill and patience. Which was fine because there was social playlists they could play. Now halo 4 seems to be completely based on the social type. When the infinity challenge was introduced I was excited to play, but unfortunately the challenge was not based on skill, it was based on who can be more of a loser wasting hours of their lives trying to accumulate the most points in a specific time frame. In halo reach, I've had the opportunity to play against opponents and alongside those who are actually at my skill level. I reached within the top 5 percentile of arena. By the top 20% you start seeing big names, names that when you see you know you have to play your heart out to progress to a better percentile. Everyone at that skill level know of each other, automatically you begin to form friendships and rivalries. Sometimes two rivals form a temporary bond to destroy a common enemy that was online. It produced such epic battles that even the producers and creators of the game could not even fathom. To the point where it was better than any game on xbox or sport you watch on tv. It became an entity of it's own, arena was a living thing almost. It somehow developed it's own karma, and it's own rhythm to master, it was a symphony of sheer destruction and glory. If there will be ever a day I return to halo, or we I should say, there's a handful of us you're losing business to, it will be to slay a monster or monsters in an competitive playlist. We are legends and we do not play for nothing, we got tired of running around swatting flies out of the air, no challenge, it's not fun. Other than that you're game is well created with graphics and balance. I was pleased when the update for momentum was fixed, at the beginning it was horrible. I'm sure the social based fans will be pleased to play your game forever. Its unfortunate halo is now not for everyone. PLAYER CAP 4v4 (plays 2v2 surprisingly well CANVAS-RAVINE VERSION 1.5 HARDSCAPE LAYOUT-inverted symmetrical This map was Forged in the last month before Halo 4's launch! The hardscape layout, is inspired from my travels to canal based urban environments in Europe! At the time when we had Forge world, I was able to Forge the vision due to the water in which it was a composition of boardwalks, terraces, bridges, and balconies that had some very intense sight lines. The map was named "CANALS" This map was one I could claim a original Festuca design! Although I was thrilled with the way it turned out, due to the them, it lacked "dance floor" attributes, and kept players moving to a predictable zone! At the time I reforged this in Halo 4, I was unable to recreate the same hardscape it had, because of lack of Forgeable areas near water! Determination lead to a redesign, yet keeping many preferred attributes of the map! The result was a complete facelift of the middle section, and calibrated, modified attacker, and defender bases! The design of the layout really cultivates firefights that to me seem vary rare in Halo, as much as all the biomes are defendable there truly is no dominate area! The redesign has enable fantastic traversing options for the player, in which I see players utilize all areas of the map! As soon as Forge Island came out I was almost hesitant to submit, because after a current BTB build I am working on, I intend to rebuild this because, I spent so much budget on floor, and perimeter! But what better way to release it to this community, in hopes some feedback will aid its next render! I encourage you guys to try this, because I am confident in this layout, and as of now it plays different than any other map I have played! That being said if I had to give an analogy of how this map played, it reminds me of Halo 2's "Sanctuary"! I hope and wish for some feedback would be very welcomed, and of all I hope you enjoy the gameplay of this map! Thanks for your time!   21. Here's what I've been working on. It's supposed to be a 4v4 competitive map. Not sure how well it actually plays. Ghosts are able to float over the 30x30 basin in the middle of the map. They handle pretty much normally aside from the occasional mysterious "air bump." Feedback / advice is definitely appreciated. PW control is high risk, high reward due to the rockets being in the middle exposed to the whole map, but they are rockets The DMR is a power weapon on this map because aim assist is still active cross map. This is meant for competitive settings, however normal settings would work. I like this map because it is really simple, yet it has a lot of little details, and a huge amount of jump ups and trick jumps.
  23. Gamertag: SunnyD In A Jug Map Name/Type: Impulse, arena slayer pro style map Player suggested capacity: 6-12 Description: Impulse is a ravine forged map. It is purposed to be a 4v4 team slayer pro or 4v4 capture the flag map. it can hold up to 6v6 amounts on the teams. Spawn points are spread out evenly throughout the map including a team respawn zone that way spawns arent random. Impulse is a completely symmetrical map. it consists of 2 snipers rifles every 120 secs, 1 rocket launcher every 180 secs, a railgun and sticky det every 90 secs. This map is awesome!!   24. As I look through the competitive community-made forge maps, many of them seem the same to me, or way too similar... Description or your typical community forge map (Competitive)- They are all just one large structure or a few plain buildings, and the maps take place predominantly under a roof and/or boxed in by several walls. Frequently, the whole map is that same white color- the trademark color of the structure pieces. The sight lines are usually short, there are tight corners, and they are typically just DMR/BR shootouts at close and medium range, sometimes with a mongoose or a ghost here and there. They are usually played from 2v2 to 6v6, red vs blue, with several game types. Here are a few of many examples (And note that each of these images comes from a different map)... "Delirium," by Master Sundown "Evacuated," by Junkyard Corgi "MLG Conjunction," by The Sigma AI "Renury," by XreignZ "Structure," by Lx Kill3rMan1ac Is it just me, or do you guys also see the extreme similarities between all of these maps? Not just the way they look, but the way they play also has little variation. Does the community have an appetite for something different... something new in their competitive maps? One of my personal favorites is "TheTrenches" by Mr Pokephile, even though he technically considered it a minigame, it still has that team-based, organized gameplay that makes it seem competitive to me, and certianly more fun than those dull, repetitive DMR or BR close quarter shootout maps. I also created my own map, "Armored Strike," (Posted on 343's "Competitive Map Submissions" forum on 1/29) which is a large vehicle based map that better resembles the natural terrain that the vehicles should actually be fighting on. You will see how it is very different from those shown above. NO VEHICLES. Good amount of cover added. VERY SMALL, Symmetrical. Great variety of natural rock ramps, cover, rolling hills and structures. Built to be fast and furious. Blockers setup to prevent people from getting out of the central area. Softkill and Kill volumes also behind that stuff, prevent exploiters. Supports: Team Slayer Team SWAT CTF KOTH Oddball Initial Weapon spawns: Shotguns X2 (one on each side near the airlifts) SAW x2 (one on each side at the neck of the "Y" corridors) Rockets (center, top) Sorry for the quality, here are some screenshots. The soft-ceiling on Harvest prevents me from getting a good aerial view, so I made the topdown map instead, sorry!
