  4. Bungie's next hit FPS Destiny will be available on the Xbox One market place for gamers to pre-load on their system before launch! Last week, Microsoft heralded in a new feature to the Xbox One with the launch of Madden 15, pre-loading. Pre-loading allows you to download the game to it's fullest on your system before launch and when launch hits, play it with no waiting hassle. IGN.com reports that Destiny will be the next game to receive this feature, and will be available to pre-load soon. A microsoft spokesperson commented, saying, "We’re thrilled to make Destiny available for pre-order and pre-download . . . this option was available for a short period of time before the official pre-order window opened. We’ll have more details to share soon about the pre-order and pre-download window for Destiny." So far no confirmed pre-load window as he says, but I'd expect it to be open around the launch weekend, September 5th, 6th, and 7th. So far this feature for Destiny has only been confirmed for the Xbox One, however I'd expect the PS4 to also receive the game for pre-load with an announcement coming soon. The game launches in just 2 weeks on September 9th. View attachment: 2-2x7wAIQ.jpg Are you going to pre-load Destiny, or is a physical copy a must for a game like Destiny? Discuss below! Thank you very much for reading everyone!
  5. Microsoft has been showing of it's new technology at CES, it is called "Xbox IllumiRoom". What it does is make your entire room part of the TV screen, your walls will show the content that breaches the edges of your TV and acts as an extension to your screen. More details below. Article and videos are from IGN. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHV4nclMdGc During Samsung’s keynote at CES today, Microsoft unveiled IllumiRoom, a new technology that turns the entire room around your TV into an extension of the screen. As explained on Microsoft’s official site, IllumiRoom uses Kinect and a projector “to blur the lines between on-screen content and the environment we live in allowing us to combine our virtual and physical worlds.” Microsoft explains that IllumiRoom “augments the area surrounding a television screen with projected visualizations to enhance the traditional living room entertainment experience” and “can change the appearance of the room, induce apparent motion, extend the field of view, and enable entirely new game experiences." Kinect captures the geometry of a room and adapts projected visuals “in real-time without any need to custom pre-process the graphics. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aoUGRGjG07E In a video demo shown off during Samsung’s keynote, Microsoft showed off several different applications of the technology, noting that the footage was “captured live and is not the result of any special effects added in post production.” IllumiRoom appears to be the realization of the immersive display experience Microsoft patented last year, which aimed to make gaming “more realistic” and eliminating “out of context images” that sit next to your TV. Whether or not IllumiRoom will tie-in with next Xbox or the next generation of Kinect remains to be seen, but Microsoft says more details will be revealed at the ACM SIGCHI Conference in Paris in April.

  7. So, recently as a good amount of us have been enduring the darkness and pushing it back, we've also been collection some engrams. And, the Cryptarch as the silly fellow he is never really gave up Legendary items. Thanks to Bungie hearing the plea of us guardians, here's their response to this issue. "Cayde-6 took the Cryptarch aside and showed him a sack of doorknobs. He decoded that mystery pretty quickly. Legendary Engrams will always produce Legendary or better quality items, including Materials or Exotics Rare Engrams will always produce Rare or better quality items Rare engrams will have an increased chance to produce Legendary quality items" That means our blue skinned friend won't be trolling us all for a while... Hopefully. In other news, we also have some changes to Vanguard Strikes. These will now give us Legendary/Rare Items or Engrams aside from the normal rewards you'd recieve. We also get to see certain materials such as "Ascendant Materials" in general become Legendary to match what they are normally associated with. NOTE: All Legendary Engrams will be turned to Rare Engrams when the patch rolls out. Here's what Bungie had to say about this - "Legendary Engram items that exist in your inventory will be demoted to Rare quality when the patch goes live, so decode them while you can. But let’s be honest--even if you don’t, we all know they were blues already..." Praise the Traveller! Source: http://www.bungie.net/7_102-Patch-Preview/en/News/News?aid=12202
  8. What controller do you use when you play Halo? The one that came with your Xbox? A third party controller? A Special Edition? A modded controller? I got my controller after Halo 4 released. It's a special edition UNSC Infinity Controller: Post your controller, along with when you got it below! 9. Hello, I bought Halo MCC around December 10-16 (can't remember) and played it before the 21 (of course) yet I haven't recieved my free month of Xbox live. Is there a specific reason why?
  10. Rumors have been going around that there is a possibility for cross-platform gaming with the next gen consoles. For example if some players are playing Destiny on PlayStation Network and other players are playing it on Xbox Live then they'd be able to play together because they're playing the same game. Now, I don't think that they'd do this simply because of the competition between the two gaming consoles and although it'd unite a gaming community, that's not what business is about. Keep in mind that these games are being held on the same developer servers. Here's some things that others had to say: Azaxx says, "Across PS4 and Xbox One, it has a very slim chance. It works because of being consoles, but may not happen because Sony/MS. And PC to consoles simply will not happen. Way to OP for PC to be playing." Halo5 follower said, "well, there was a rumor that the PS3 game, Dust514, would be able to play with Xbox. However, that was just on Youtube, so the reliability of it was pretty low. If microsoft can talk to Sony then a guess things may start to happen..." Contrary to the beliefs above Ledgend 1221 had this to say, "With Games like ESO, I'd say there's a chance it will happen. At least I hope so, it would be fun to duke out the rivalry in an online arena. PCs should remain separate, too much of a gap." Archangel Tyrael chimed in about PC cross platforming as well as console and said, "I don't think cross platform servers will be done. Mainly for PC; PC will dominate for these various reasons: 1.) Easier and precise aiming. 2.) Modding can be done easier and hackers. This will be a serious problem. 3.) More control. 4.) Putting PC players and consoles players together would cause a lot of butthurt fanboys and unfair gameplay. That's just for the PC. Now I am not saying it's impossible for Xbox and PS to share servers, but in my opinion, it wont happen. Xbox and PS are rival consoles. Not only that, there is already servers for Xbox and Sony; that leads me to think they will be to their own console. While, it might be nice it just wont happen and shouldn't because of the last PC reason -- even for MMO's like: TESO, and anymore that are to come." TexHellsAngel376 has a similar belief to mine and told me, "I don't think MS and Sony will stop fighting enough to do it." Will the dream of cross-platform gaming ever become a reality? Discuss and leave your thoughts below.
  11. Just joined the forum to make this post! I'm loving this game, but I'm cycling through controls schemes to find the one that is most optimal for my aggressive style of play. I'm currently using on the Halo 4 control layout, and decided to create this quick mock-up of what I feel would be an ideal setup for people not looking to mod the control itself. I do not care to own it so long as I can use it. I thought I'd name it as well...because like, the others have names too

  16. Xbox One can read the HDMI signal from a PS4 and thus allow Microsoft's console to host Sony's, an executive has confirmed. Because of the Xbox One's HDMI-in port, users will be able to feed the PS4's HDMI cable into the rival system. The on-screen result would be a PS4 running within an Xbox One overlay. Microsoft executive Albert Panello confirmed that Xbox One users could theoretically multi-task between both consoles. "Any application can be snapped to a game... so if you wanted to be playing Ryse and Killzone at the same time, you could snap that," he said, as quoted by Gamespot. Killzone is a PlayStation-owned IP, with a new instalment in the series due for the PS4's launch. Panello's comments also imply that any games console outputting through an HDMI cable can be displayed on the Xbox One, from Xbox 360 to PS3. The Xbox executive, who was speaking to gathered journalists at the Tokyo Game Show, also warned users against vertically standing their Xbox Ones. How nice will it be to sit back, relax, and play both consoles without even thinking? Full articles at CVG
  17. A few hidden games has appeared on the xbox dashboard, this brief article from polygon with go through them and try to see what these could be. Title speaks for itself, of course you have the big image Quantum Break, and Forza 5. I wouldn't look too far into Halo, it's just a logo and we'll inevitably get one.... But the other images 1. Bottom left green Crackdown agility orb, I don't know why they would use that unless we're getting a sequel (a real one this time). 2. Bottom right has the Rare logo, if its an HD realization of a old franchise I wouldn't know what it is. 3. Middle right is almost certainly Ryse (roman buildings) 4. Top right, most intriguing to me, kind of gives me Fable vibe (Seer eyes) I wouldn't look too far into the image between Forza and Halo, kind of looks like the Demo stuff 18 seconds in there. (I guess it could still be from a game?) *-Update:* As Tom Warren points out the one betwean Forza and Halo is likely the the family kids game set on an island he reported on. http://www.theverge.com/2013/4/11/4212054/next-xbox-launch-titles-ryse-forza

  19. I'd like to start this off by saying while not a lot of you could consider this "news", this was requested by a few people to be covered and I think it should be seen and spread so that we can raise awareness of this horrible disease and help those struggling with it. Phil Spencer, the head of Microsoft, has undertaken the ALS Ice Water Challenge! Now, before you ask, the ALS Ice Water Challenge is a chain-letter style challenge system where one person nominates three people and then proceeds to dunk ice cold water on his/herself. The three that person nominates have 24 hours to respond by doing the challenge or they have to donate $100 to ALS awareness, properly known as Lou Gerhig's disease. On Xbox's Phil Spencer not only undertook the challenge, but as well donated money to the organization. He nominated Valve's Gabe Newell, Sony's Shuhei Yoshida, and Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime, he himself was nominated by the well known Notch, creator of Minecraft. Sony responded and undertook the challenge themselves, nominating GameStop's head, Activision's head, and Sony Europe's exec. So far, Valve and Nintendo haven't responded (to my knowledge). View attachment: Untitled.png Now, I recommend everyone donates or tries the challenge but I'm going to conduct something myself. I myself undertook the challenge and I'll edit the video of it below, but I'd like to nominate some members to do it themselves or donate! I'd like to nominate Jack of Harts, Yoshi1176, and Stinky! You three have 24 hours to take the challenge and/or donate, but because I know some members have like to keep private, you don't have to record yourself doing the challenge. Feel free to nominate three other members once it is completed, and we'll try to raise some awareness for ALS! If you would however like to share the video of yourself doing it feel free to post it below. Thanks for reading everyone, and thanks for spreading awareness for ALS! Donate at ALSA.org. (Note: I know this is very unusual news to some people and may not be considered it, but I feel raising awareness is important. If a moderator feels this doesn't belong, go ahead and move it to the general discussion, I don't mind!)
  20. Minecraft on the Xbox One gets a release date [uPDATE] The very popular game Minecraft has finally gotten a release date for the Xbox One. The game will be available for download on the Xbox One starting the 5th of September at a price of €19,99. Players who already own the game on the Xbox 360 can choose to upgrade their current game for the price of €4,99. If you rather want to get the game through a retailer you will have to wait untill somewhere near the end of the month when retailers start sell download codes. You can get the discount by showing them your Xbox 360 Minecraft disc. This upgraded Xbox One version will make your world up to 36 times bigger than the Xbox 360 version. Unlike the Xbox 360 version you will start off with the latest updates immediatly. Even downloadable content you purchased on the Xbox 360 will carry over to your Xbox One. You can either play with 3 other friends through split-screen or up to 7 others over Xbox Live. Owners of the Playstation 4 can play Minecraft starting today! (3rd of Sept) Both versions were due to release this August but encountered some delay which has caused it to release this week. UPDATE: So... Apparently the Minecraft Xbox One edition has come to the Xbox Store a day early. Only problem is that it's listed as 114,99 pounds... This is surely an error, but there's still the option to press 'Purchase now'. Nobody has been stupid enough to go through with it... Yet. Will you be getting Minecraft for the Xbox One or Playstation 4, and will you make use of your discount? Let us know down below! Thank you for reading! Sources: nl.ign Eurogamer Polygon
  21. Start -- Xbox Support Chat -- info: Privacy Statement You are now chatting with 'Judie'. Judie: Thank you for contacting Xbox Support. My name is Judie. How are you doing today? Justin: I'm good. Thanks Judie: Hi there, Justin! Glad to know that you're doing good. And thanks for the info. Judie: It says here that you want to get info about the community video game event, right? Justin: Yes. Judie: Alright. Just to verify, are you trying to host a party on any Xbox games? Justin: I don't own any Xbox games or systems as of now. But if I knew I could host this event, I would make plans on buying some. Judie: Alright. You can actually broadcast your game plays through Twitch. But for now, Live broadcasting is not yet available. So if you would like to broadcast your game plays, you will be needing DVR to record it. Here, let me provide you a link to check the features of the Live broadcasting using Twitch. Judie: Twitch on Xbox One Justin: Sorry, to be more specific. I want to rent the Youth Center and have games systems available for the community to play with/against each other. Judie: Oh, I see. If I may ask, what tournament do you have in mind, Justin? I mean what games will you be playing? Judie: Like some tournament of fighting games, I meant 1 vs 1? Justin: Depends on what system I can use and if I need the publishers permission to use their games. Justin: Right here I just want to know what do I need to do to use your system for this community video game event? Steps to take. Judie: Hold on, give me a minute or two. Judie: Sorry to make you wait, Justin. Judie: Justin, can you provide some more details about your planned activity please. Judie: Sorry for the questions, just want to make sure that we are on the same page. Judie: Like do you want to connect all consoles together and play the same game? Judie: Or like some kind of a sponsorship from Xbox? Justin: The plan is to rent the back of the Youth Center. Advertise to my town of a Video Game Event. People show up and play games against each other or coop. I want to have 2 or more gaming stations for 2 or 4 player games each. If unable to use Xbox consoles, I'll try Playstation next. Then finally try Steam OS Custom Built PC's. Justin: Or Linux PC's Justin: I'd buy everything. I'm not looking for assistance. Just permission. Judie: I totally understand, Justin. All you need to do is to contact the game developer of the game that will be used on your tournament. They will be the one to seek an approval or permission to use the system. I believe this is totally depends on you, you just need to tell them that you wanted to use either Xbox 360 or Xbox One for the tournament. Justin: Awesome! Thanks. And is the permission for how frequent this event is also up to the developers? Judie: Yes, Justin. You can coordinate with the game developers on how long will the tournament will run or how frequent. I can provide you some of the game developer's contact numbers. Justin: Yes Please! Thank you! Judie: Here: Judie: 2k Sports: 866-219-9839 Judie: Rockstar Games: 866-405-5464 Judie: CAPCOM: 650-350-6700 Judie: EA: 866-543-5435 Judie: UbiSoft: 866-824-6515 Judie: Namco Bandai Games: 408-235-2222 Judie: There you go. Justin: Amazing! Thank you Judie: It's a pleasure. Sorry for taking too much time, Justin. I just want to make sure that we are on the same page. Judie: Would there be anything else I can assist you with? Justin: What about Halo? Microsoft Judie: For Halo, you should contact: 343 Industries Justin: Great. Thanks Judie: Here is the link for the 343 Industries. It's their community forums. Judie: 343 Industries Justin: thanks Judie: You are most welcome. Hope I was able to provide you all the info. But if there's anything else I can help you, please let me know. Justin: k. Have a great day! Judie: Likewise and take care! Good luck on your event, Justin! Judie: Thank you for contacting Xbox Customer Support! To end your chat session please click "Close chat" above the chat window. If you have any additional questions after you disconnect, feel free to contact us again. Have a great day! End -- Xbox Support Chat -- ---- So 343industries, Do I need your permission to use your games for these Community Video Game Events? I ask because I just got done chatting with Playstation and they're answer was: Jaime M.: Thank you for your patience Justin, alright as far as I understood you would like to perform a Video Game Event in your current town and you are asking us for our permission to use our systems on that event, and you will purchase those consoles. Jaime M.: Am I correct? Justin Richardson: Yes. Jaime M.: Alright Justin, let me tell you that since you are purchasing the systems , and also the games I don't see any kind of permission that we must provide to you, which means that you are free to go ahead with your Vide Game event! Justin Richardson: Awesome! Thanks! Justin Richardson: Now do I still need permission from the game developers as well? Justin Richardson: To use their game? Jaime M.: You are welcome Justin! And I don't see any reason why you should ask for that kind of permission Justin, in theory you are paying for the licenses when you purchase the game so you are free to use it Justin, you are not doing something bad.
  22. 24. One of the main questions that have been buzzing around while we await to get out first main look at the next gen consoles is what will the next gen xbox and playstation's graphics will be like? Well we won't have to wait too long as E3 is on the horizon but in the mean time Ubisoft has given their view on what to expect. This article is from Examiner In the June 2013 issue of Game Informer, Mallat discussed in an interview that Sony and Microsoft’s next-generation consoles – PS4 and the Next Xbox, Xbox 720, Durango or whatever you like to call it – will “blow us away” with their visuals. Although the graphics will be impressive, he believes these systems offer more than solely stunning visuals. "I think minds will be blown by the graphics as a hook, as an entry door," stated Mallat, but continued to share that there is more to these consoles than graphics. One of the greatest benefits the next-generation brings is freedom to developers. "I think that amount of power gives a lot of freedom to our creators and then it's up to them to tailor and tame that power to what suits the game the best." "To me, what's lying beneath that or beyond that will keep our players involved. When you think about that, even on current generation systems it always takes some time for developers to tame the machine - especially the PlayStation 3." As Sony has demonstrated, social interaction will play a pivotal role in the PS4’s online infrastructure. Mallat believes social interaction and connectivity will be what makes these system a true next-generation experience. "This time we may see creating amazing games on the visual side of things very quickly," said Mallat, "but to me the social complement and connected thing will be the next-gen experience compared to the current generation system.” "That being said, you'll be blown away by graphics."
  25. Hello Fellow Gamers of Halo! My GT is Burdened Legacy, I'm the leader for a Military based clan and am looking for two things. The first, recruits. I want to add more people to my clan same as any other. The second, is alliances and rivals. Right now my clan is around 20+ and if your a lone wolf I can respect that. That goes for people in clans already. But, if you'd like to join, message me or Omicron Legacy. We only ask that you change your emblem and something we can identify you easily. Right now, we are focused on Reach, but moving to Halo 4 as well. Aside from being in the clan, when you join, you will be put in a small team to easily know the clan. You will train with this team and you will battle with this team. Each team is around 4 to 6 players and 3 teams make a platoon. Hope I see the requests coming soon. ~Happy Gaming, Burdened. ....and your service tag something we can identify you easily. ^^^^I forgot to add in the atilcized portion to the post.
