  1. Good news, 343 Industries are thinking about getting the loved Halo 3: ODST and the memorable Halo: Reach to Xbox One! According to an interview with Dan Ayoub, executive produce at 343 Industries, so many people asked about the two games that it's actually gotten 343 thinking about it. Neither are in development at the moment, but it's possible for both to return. Nothing was said about Halo Wars, although a sequel may have been hinted at in the 'Phantom Dust' Trailer. Do you want to see both games make a return to next-gen? Post your thoughts down below. 4. Over the past couple of days there has been an avalanche of Xbox news that has come out of this years GamesCom, from reveals of Halo: The Master Chief Collection to Xbox exclusive deals and new bundles. But one piece of news that has gone unnoticed by many (myself included) is that the Xbox One will soon allow users to watch Movies and TV shows from USB devices or DLNA through a home network. One of Xbox's lead engineers, Ashley Speicher, talked about a list of features that will be coming soon to the Xbox One in future updates and one of those features is that it will be compatible with a long list of media file formats, some that are already compatible with the Xbox 360 and some that weren't before such as .mkv, gif's, and Mpeg 2TS. "Soon, Xbox One owners will be able to watch videos, listen to music, and browse photos from USB and DLNA with the most popular file formats, including Mpeg 2 TS, .MKV and animated gifs by the end of the year," Ashley Speicher said in an interview with Xbox Wire. This feature will come to great use to Xbox One owners as it offers a large list of supported files but may somewhat bring controversy as pirated content can be used. To get the full listed of supported file formats click the source link below. Another useful feature that is coming will allow users to view their friends, join parties, read messages and view achievements through snap mode, so there won't be any interruption while playing games or using apps. One of the other new features coming is called "Threaded Messages" what that does is that it allows users to view full conversation history it can also be done. There will also be an update to friends activities, users will be able to view the most played games their friends have been playing and a Gamerscore leaderboard will be coming which will allow gamers to compare how much their Gamerscore has gone up compared to their friends over the last 30 days. Click the source below to watch the interview and to get a look at the new features coming to the Xbox One. What do you think about the new features and apps coming to the Xbox One? 9. The highly praised action game from 2012, Sleeping Dogs, is coming to next generation consoles this fall according to an Amazon listing! When it comes to 'listings' on games that aren't confirmed, most of all we see is a brief extra option to a certain game, for example a recent Halo The Master Chief Collection listing for PC, however, today this isn't the case. Amazon.com has listed the popular action-adventure shooter from 2012 known as Sleeping Dogs. The game is the full package, including an art book, DLC, and a redesigned cover that looks to also have a slipcase to it. It is incredibly rare to actually have a listing show the entire new cover and features and not be officially confirmed by the company yet. However, the listing is still there and will likely stay, meaning Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition, is confirmed! The game is listed as $59.99 USD and will launch October 14th for retail and possibly download soon after. If you pre-order now from Amazon, you will get the exclusive concept art book alongside the game, it is unknown if this book will also be available at retail. Ashley Johnson, best known as Ellie from The Last of Us, is one of those women, as she has fired at Ubisoft according to Polygon.com. Leaving out Ashley's choice words likely too mature to be fully stated here, she is completely against the decision, saying, "It's 2014! How many video games do you have to make to realize maybe have an option to have a female be in there?" Her co-star in the game, Troy Baker, has made a much less volatile statement, cautioning the idea of forced inclusion of females. Ubisoft has tried to quell the massive response of angered gamers, but even their wide array of efforts have done little to stop people. IGN.com states that Sony has announced a Destiny bundle with a custom console, and a The Last of Us Remastered bundle with a custom TLOU: R themed PS4. 18. In a Podcast episode, the head of Microsoft Phil Spencer commented on the idea of bringing back the original proposed Family Sharing Plan and said that it may happen in the future, but it will be a long and bumpy road with the DRM attachment. Let's take a trip back to June 2013, on the dawn of E3 2013, Microsoft Studios is under heavy fire for their new DRM system, and especially their fee on used games, taking the war publishers have had on used games to new heights. One thing however that was done right was the idea of a Family Sharing program on Xbox One, talked about in the GamertagRadio.com podcast with Phil Spencer, the new head of Microsoft. You see, when the outstanding policies were revamped, the Family Sharing plan went with them, never to see the light of day again, at least, that's what we thought. In the podcast Phil explained how he had loved the idea of a Family Sharing program, and how it is on their agenda for a new, game-based Xbox. He specifically stated, "We looked at the digital features that we had talked about last year and as a gamer, there were a lot of those features that I think really resonated . . . As I look at our monthly update roadmap, those kind of features are in our roadmap. There is a little bit of a challenge now that you've got DRM on a disc." So the idea isn't totally out of the question, in fact, he pretty much states the idea is on the center of their plan, just that it would be difficult to do thanks to DRM already implemented. 20. I was wondering if Halo 2 and 3 would have their normal ranking system still. I was a huge fan of it, to me it made it worth the challenge to legitly make it to level 50. I found it really boring to only be offered credits to buy different armors can crap. A rank a 5 year old could match up too by playing 8 hours longer than me one day. Seeing someones rank told me how good they were so if I was beaten I known I still need to improve. When I reached 50 in Halo 3 in Lone Wolves, Team Doubles, and in Team Swat I was proud. I worked hard and had a ton of close matches with skilled players. Some people think rank is pointless and not fun to be apart of. Well thats why both halo 2 and halo 3 had social playlists...just for that reason. I would play those too if I just wanted to have fun. So with this collection of my best memories all together in 1 disc, I really hope the ranking system stays the same. Just have a way to report and ban players who boost, derank on purpose, or afk so it doesn't affect us legit players. SInce everyone can capture game play footage and we send a link to what happen please have a ban hammer for those players. In Halo 2 I reach level 30 In Halo 3 I reach level 50 What was your legit rank in both games, and also who wants to join me on my quest to have the first legit 50 in halo 2 if it still exists?
  21. Microsoft has released PC drivers for the Xbox One controller today, the announcement came from Xbox Live's Major Nelson. Gamers can now use their Xbox One controller to play games and use apps on their PC by downloading the required drivers(available on Major Nelson's site). Major Nelson also stated that they are planning to release the drivers in a Windows update in the near future but gamers can get early access to it today. A micro USB cable will be required as it does not support a wireless connection at the moment. Games that currently support the Xbox 360 controller will be compatible with the Xbox One controller. Now on to the conspiracy. In the announcement of the Xbox One controller PC drivers on Major Nelson's site there is a picture that shows the Xbox One controller that is connected to a Surface Pro to demonstrate the new functionality of the feature and it has the Halo 2's main title screen on it. See below. Now this could be solely for demonstration purposes to show of the new feature but with the cavalcade of rumors and "hints" over the past number of months many might take this as another nudge towards Halo 2 anniversary being in the works. So Is it? It does seem suspicious that they are using Halo 2 in that image and not an image of one of their recent products such as Halo: Spartan Assault considering it is the latest Halo game out right now and the fact that it is available to play on PC and Windows devices. Is this another nod towards a Halo 2 anniversary or is it just an innocent act? Anyway I'll leave it for you to decide, leave your thoughts on this news below. Source: majornelson.com
