  1. For those interested in the NFL titles, the Xbox One has some interesting enhancements soon releasing. If you're familiar with NeuLion, a streaming company working with Microsoft, you have heard that they have a multi-year contract with them to bring NFL content to the Xbox One. The content includes DLC, statistics, and TV channels geared around sports to be delivered at 60fps (Frames Per Second). The console is capable of such feats as it has a suitable video card for the situation. Chris Wagner, the company's executive VP had this to say: “One of NeuLion’s core strengths is our ability to get our partners to market fast with an integrated experience, Our sports platform has helped to reduce the complexities involved and deliver for Xbox fans a tremendous live sports experience on the game console.” The 60fps update has not yet been released, but the app is available, though it will require Xbox Live Gold and the free existing NFL app.
  2. UK online retailer Zavvi is currently selling the standard edition of the Xbox One for £409.99, that's £20 cheaper than the RRP. I know this is barely a price big price drop at all compared to it's RRP and there certainly wouldn't be one this quick after launch but could this be the very beginning of prices drops for the Xbox One? Well it's hard to tell as this is just one company that seems to be doing it, it could be that they aren't quite shifting as much Xbox One's as expected, but I think it may be worth keeping an eye one as other retailers may begin to do the same thing to compete. 5. Source-LatinoPost With 2014 almost here, many fans are eager to see what sort of games Sony and Microsoft will be releasing on to their new next gen platforms, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Especially important to gamers is seeing what exclusive games will be coming to the new systems, as these games could sway public opinion on the consoles and convince gamers to pick one over the other when they are more widely available. To highlight the upcoming 2014 exclusive games, here are the top five games in the category for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. 5. Infamous: Second Son (PlayStation 4)- This game seeks to take the franchise to a new level, as the new console hardware will allow the game to have an even bigger and better open world and even more insane superpowers for users to play around in. Throw in a more charismatic protagonist and the game could be a crown jewel in the PlayStation 4 launch window lineup when it is released March 21. 4. Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare (Xbox One)- While this game is also being released on the Xbox 360 and PC, the Xbox One version of the game is the definitive one for fans due to the inclusion of offline co-op and Boss Mode. The game seeks to mix Plants vs. Zombies with online shooters, and the game looks to be the sleeper hit of 2014. 3. Uncharted 4 (PlayStation 4)- While Naughty Dog has only confirmed that they are working on an Uncharted game, without saying it will be the fourth game in the series, it is enough to earn the game a place on this list. Considering that the Uncharted games on the PlayStation 4 set a new standard for cinematic gameplay when they were released, having the series come to the PlayStation 4 and do the same thing seems to be a given for the new year. 2. Titanfall (Xbox One)- This game, due in March, seeks to merge single player story telling with multiplayer online gameplay, and so far the game looks to have done that perfectly. If Titanfall is able to do everything that it has promised to do, it could lead to industry staples like Call of Duty completely changing their formula and risk becoming outdated. But besides all that, the game will allow users to fight it out on massive maps with different mech warriors as well as on foot, which could be worth the price of admission all by itself. 1. Halo 5 (Xbox One)- The Halo series was confirmed to be getting a new game in 2014 for the Xbox One, but Microsoft did not reveal if the game is indeed Halo 5. Nonetheless, the series gets a pass for this, as any sort of new Halo title is enough to cause gamers to sit up and take notice. While many people will be watching this game closely to see how it compares to Destiny, the new game from former Halo developers Bungie, there is no reason to doubt that the new Halo game will continue the franchise's stellar record
  6. ^Front of the controller^ Celebrity console modder Ben Heck has created a single-handed Xbox One controller mod, designed to be accessible for gamers with a disability preventing them from using two hands. The creation of the controller will be chronicled on this Friday's installment of element14's The Ben Heck Show. A teaser for the program gives a first glimpse at the unit, as do the images posted above and below. The controller, which features the left-trigger on its backside next to the battery, is designed for right-handed individuals because, "that's the most common request," Heck said. It's not clear if Heck also plans to create a left-handed Xbox One controller or if he will produce more than one unit. Heck is donating the controller to the Able Gamers Foundation, a charity aimed at making video games more accessible for those with disabilities. This is not the first time Heck has a created a single-handed controller, as he did the same on an Xbox 360 Controller years ago, completely overhauling the controller in the process. ^Back of the controller^ Source: http://www.gamespot.com/articles/modder-creates-single-handed-xbox-one-controller/1100-6416866/
  7. RYSE: Son Of Rome Game Review Note: I tried to make this review as spoiler free as possible. I hope you enjoy! Plot summary: Ryse: Son of Rome is a 3rd person game set in Ancient Rome during the war between Rome and the Barbarians. It follows the story of Marius Titus, a Roman Centurion whose family is murdered. The story depicts the time when he entered the Roman army, to the time when he became a General and a great leader. Marius sets out to kill the barbarians who murdered his father, but discovers the truth to his families demise and is determined to have his revenge on his families murderers. Gameplay: Ryse could be called a button smasher, but not nearly as much as fighting games such as Marvel Vs. Capcom, Mortal Kombat, and others. You have a main attack button [X], a parry or break defense button [Y], a counter button [A], and an evade button . Each of these buttons are utilized quite evenly throughout the game as you journey to different areas and face different kinds of enemies. These controls are included with a quick time event kill finishes, where when you see a skull over an enemies head, you press the Right trigger to start the kill finish. There are also javelins you can take from dead bodies or stands that you can use to throw at enemies from a distance, these controls are highlighted the impulse triggers, the longer you hold the trigger down, the more accurate the throw is. Certain points in the game allow you to command your army into defending and attacking certain positions. There are times when you need your army to help you approach a dangerous area, thus creating the testudo formation, this formation allows you to cover yourself as arrows are being fired at you, and also allows you to throw spears at the archers while they are preparing to fire the next set of projectiles. There are also some Crossbow stations (Rapid fire crossbow with flaming tips) that can be used in certain areas of the game, you also utilize the same controls as you did by using the javelins. You can also upgrade your characters health, focus, and combat strengths throughout the game. Kinect: Kinect is utilized in the control scheme as well, you use Kinect for voice commands to command your army/garrison in certain areas of the game (often times in a large war-filled area/level). Voice commands such as "Fire Volley!" are used to control the archers, they often provide assistance to you when you are feeling overwhelmed in battle. They are usually just enough to assist you with getting through the levels. There are more voice commands you can use, but I will leave that up to you all to discover. Visuals/Audio: The visual appearance of Ryse: Son of Rome is one of the best I have seen in a video game. Surpassing that of the Assassins Creed series and the multiple monuments and buildings they revolve around. The audio and voice performances are also top notch as the music helps drive the game forward. The voice acting is also an overlooked but very well done part of the story and the characters. Sound effects and object sounds add to the game to help you feel like you are in Rome. Ryse, offers different scenic locations, from the marketplaces you pass through within the city, to a dark forest area where there are traps, rivers, fog, and other things you often have to go through to reach your destination. The game is very detailed and looks and sounds incredible. Summary: Ryse: Son of Rome offers fun gameplay, a compelling story with an incredible ending, and amazing audio and visual appearance. The game offers another game mode besides the main campaign called "Gladiator" which allows you to play with friends or other people online (Not yet played). I believe that this game will be fun for anyone who plays it, and it should not be overlooked on the Xbox One. Definitely check Ryse: Son of Rome out. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I have. Do take the M rating into consideration, as it is properly given. Review by: John P. aka Mayh3m/Total Mayh3m

  11. Turtle Beach offers headset upgrade for Xbox One owners The selection of Xbox One headsets is fairly slim at the moment, but Turtle Beach has a solution in the form of an audio adapter that allows a handful of its headsets to plug into the new console’s controller. For a limited time, the company is offering that adapter as a free upgrade for those that purchase a participating headset between November 22, 2013, and January 30, 2014. If you’ve nabbed a Turtle Beach XP400, XP510, XP SEVEN, or X42 since the console’s launch – or if you plan to get one in the next two months – then you’re eligible. To redeem the offer, simply click this link and follow the instructions from there. Note that you’ll need a valid receipt, and a photo of said receipt in order to get your adapter. Once you submit all of the necessary info and documentation, Turtle Beach will take it from there. The Xbox One ships with a chat headset in the box, and the new Kinect is also chat-capable, but Turtle Beach cans allow you to pipe both game audio and chat into your ears. There’s only a limited range of options available specifically for the Xbox One in the third-party space, and Turtle Beach’s offer may be preferable since you effectively get a headset that works with both the Xbox One and Xbox 360. 14. It was announced today by Bungie that they had set the release date for Destiny for September 9th 2014. Below is an excerpt from the Bungie Weekly Update for 12/6/2013 and a news article from the site. Relevance of the Date The date falls almost 9 months to the day from this day.It is the 9th day of the 9th month of the year. This is a Tuesday in the second week of the month. There will be a full moon on that date. There appears to be no relevance with the date other than that unless there is some 'in house' reasoning for selecting it. It falls well before the shopping period for the Holidays and after the summer break for schools. Update excerpt This week, we set that date in stone: September 9th, 2014. In an interview with the community back in 2001, Jason Jones once lamented the inexorable tick of the clock. More recently, he reminded our studio just how valuable the coming months will be, and challenged the team to make every second of Destiny development count. It’s an exciting time to be at Bungie. The stage is set, and we’re going to make these moments matter. We believe Destiny will be worth the wait, and we’re anxious for the chance to prove it to you. News Article Since then, Destiny has continued to reveal its promise. Every new build brings us closer to our original vision. With those goals in sight, we intend to use every moment from now until the release of the game to ensure that Destiny lives up to your expectations, and our own. Today, in partnership with Activision, we are proud to announce that the worldwide launch of Destiny will happen on September 9th. Accordingly, the Destiny Beta will kick off in the summer of 2014, available first on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. The early support and enthusiasm for Destiny has been inspiring and humbling. We believe this is the right decision for our game, our studio, and our passionate community. Thank you for coming along with us on this adventure. See you starside. 16. Look into those eyes. They're the eyes of a man who has been deceived. They're the eyes of a man who has been conned out of £450 ($734 USD). They're the eyes of a man who read the word "photo" and decided that meant "not a photo". It's a tale of heartbreak, as reported in the Nottingham Post. 19-year-old Peter Clatworthy thought he was buying an Xbox One but instead he was buying a photo of one. "It said 'photo' and I was in two minds," Peter told the paper, "but I looked at the description and the fact it was in the right category made me think it was genuine." We think we can see where he went wrong. As if the con wasn't bad enough, the crooked eBay seller even trolled their victim: "They'd written on the back of it 'thank you for your purchase'," Peter said. "I was fuming." Joking aside, we hope the evil man responsible for this is given the karmic equivalent of a swift kick in the plums, because nobody should be pulling this stunt so close to Christmas. As for Peter, it's good news (otherwise we wouldn't have been quite so sarcastic earlier) - eBay is going to insist the seller gives Peter a full refund by Monday. "I've had to make a joke out of it because I was that angry," he concluded. "At least we've now got something to laugh about in the years to come." That's probably a mature way of looking at it. Had it been us, we'd have sent the crook a badly-printed photo of a prison cell. <via CVG & Nottingham Post>
  17. In an article posted Tuesday 3rd Sep 2013 on CVG, Microsoft spokesperson Larry (Major Nelson) Hryd was responding to suggestions that "Microsoft has rushed the console to market". Major Nelson said on Reddit: 'The Xbox One program has been in development for years, so calling it 'Rushed' is incorrect.' " This statement, along with many others, made by Microsoft about features, ease of use and having learned from the promises made of the XBOX 360 prior it's to release are now being seen in the light of day. Where the XBOX One's Upload Studio, Skydrive and more initial launch titles are noticeable strengths over Sony's PS4, the numerous problems with features, non user friendly interface and lack of some functions promised during it's preview are adding up. One of the most highly anticipated and heavily promoted feature of live streaming via Twitch was not present as promised by Microsoft. The service will not be available until sometime in 2014. James Orry of videogamer.com stated that, "This means Xbox One will be missing one of the most talked about and praised feature of the PS4.". This was not reported until just before launch after tens of thousands of gamer's had already pre ordered the console. Additionally the XBOX One's functions are almost all apps, which according to Edge-Online staff, "take too long to load, don’t offer the functionality that Xbox Live was built on, and are, inexplicably, badly handled by the OS." This sentiment is felt by many as you have to go through layers of commands to access information or functions that were previously available with one touch on the 360. The use of apps will make it much easier for MS to perform updates, but Edge noted that, "Xbox One’s debut user experience is stuttering, clunky, and a serious challenge to Xbox Live’s long-held status as the premier console service." . The best way to describe the XBOX One's current issue with the using the app system was given by Tom Phillips of eurogamer.net. He noted that "The company has already stated that the Xbox One interface is just its first version and, like the Xbox 360, it will be refreshed throughout the console's lifespan. But the console's operating system seems aimed towards further homogenisation with Windows 8, and away from successful Xbox 360 features such as the Guide button. And this is where things run into problems. Rather than having the system's features laid out in the Guide's single, simple interface, core pieces are now spread across separate apps. You must now return to the Home screen to individually load these features (your Friends list, Achievements, system settings) or snap these features using Kinect voice commands (although this doesn't work with everything)." Tom went on further to say, "Even within these apps, previously easy-to-reach features are now hard to find. Want to see which of your friends are online? You now need to load the Friends app, select "Friends" and click through to the system's confusing list of your acquaintances. Small green dots indicate who's actually online and who's not. This used to be on the Guide button, but was also part of the core desktop - accessible with a simple click of the right bumper. The Guide could also be used to view recent met players - a feature which has been removed entirely. It's a shame, as it makes Microsoft's much-lauded player ratings system pretty much impossible to use without it." Hopefully MS will consider making the necessary 'updates' to improve user interface and ease of use in very near future. Looking closer at the numerous articles, and even a new website that has been created to highlight the long list of issues with the new console, a number of them to show why so many feel it was rushed to market. Among them are party chat, which is plagued by connection problems between the various games, it's default settings and being forced out of party chat when beginning multiplayer on games like"Ryse - Son of Rome. Ryan King of NowGamer.com reported that, "There are a lot of issues with the new party system, such as not being able to manually invite individual friends to games while other friends are present in a party and problems with party chat (one example: party chat is set to off by default). One specific example of how the new party system has change things: Killer Instinct only allows two-man parties to play, so if you’re in a mixed party with others playing Forza or Battlefield, you can’t then play Killer Instinct while in that party. Partying up and getting into games worked well on Xbox 360 and it’s difficult to see what Microsoft was attempting with this new system, which seems restrictive without any real benefit." Another problem being noted with communication on the new platform is that when using Skype players are reporting their conversations, some of which may be private, are being heard in match making. Additionally the use of Skype and Upload Studio are also, "temporarily banning users who swear while using Skype and Upload Studio on Xbox One. Multiple users have taken to Reddit and the Xbox One forums after finding themselves locked out of the apps, presumably after submitting content - Either uploading gameplay streams or using Skype to make a private call - which included profanity. Based on the photo above, posted by Twitter user named Connor, the Xbox One tells banned users to 'choose something else to play... Because of their past behavior.' " , as reported by Michael Epstein of EscapistMagazine.com. Connor was given access back within 24 hours after having to contact XBOX support to rectify the issue. Though this matter is not a 'bug' in the system of the XBOX One, users may want to check their content settings which may be causing this to occur. Party chat is a widely used and integral part of using the XBOX Live service and having these type of issues clearly show that MS did not spend the time needed to ensure the communication system and the Skype interface would work properly. "Running home to momma" is being seen as another big problem when, "certain games tend to crash to Xbox Home and you can’t relaunch those games without rebooting the entire console. There are a number of different theories for why this happens – Xbox One running out of RAM thanks to games and apps not sharing the RAM well is the most popular theory – but Battlefield 4 is the game where the problem seems to be most frequent. NBA 2K14, Call Of Duty: Ghosts, Dead Rising 3 and Madden NFL 25 have also been reported to cause the issue.". Epstein goes on to note that, "You can’t quickly access your Friends List while in-game as quickly as you could on Xbox 360 and you can’t see a list of people you have recently played. There’s no ‘join session in progress’ option anymore. You can’t auto sign-in to your profile. There are no notifications when friends come online. Perhaps understandable given the longterm view of there being up to 1,000 friends but there should be some way for friends to be labelled ‘favourite’ and have notifications for them. Combined with the unwieldy nature of the new party system, it all combines for an unintuitive system that users have to learn. Compared to the simplicity of the Xbox 360’s party system, it feels like a step back." The ability to see the battery life of your controller or viewing remaining hard drive storage space is not available, voice messages are gone, using an external USB for storage or reading media is gone, you can't play music in the background during games, there's no option for custom backgrounds, no avatar store, etc. etc. For a complete list of missing, problematic or desired features you can visit xboxfeedback.com for viewing the extensive list or add to it yourself. Though this site appears to have gotten Microsofts Major Nelson's attention, based on this comment: "It was even spotted by Microsoft mouthpiece Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb, who commented to say that its suggestions had been passed on to the relevant people.", stated Tom Phillips of eurogamer.net .......... it is speaks volumes that players felt compelled to create a web site in order to get Microsoft to pay attention to the issues they are having and features they expected to return or want. Larry Hryb made this announcement on Reddit. "I had a meeting today about much of this and I can say that things will get better. I can't offer a timeline of a list of what will be addressed first, but we are aware of the issue and things will get better." One reporter made light of the comment saying it sounded like something a politician would say! How long it will take MS to address these issues is yet to be seen. We have heard these promise of lessons learned and quick fixes before. Placing products on the market without proper testing, applying unwanted features or allowing project staff time to polish or finish promised specific features is a becoming a hallmark of MS products and those of it's game studio. The XBOX One should be a gaming console first and foremost and respect it's consumers by offering finished products. Trying to be the "everything box" appears to have caused the core use of what an XBOX was originally created for, gaming, to suffer. It would be scary to see what problems would have occurred with the infamous "DRM" feature they were forced to abandon (at least for now) following a major out cry from the community had it been implemented. The gaming community bought into XBOX Live, the XBOX consoles and exclusive titles in the past which has allowed Microsoft to make a proverbial gold mine from all of their related gaming interests. There should have been more respect given the consumers who have helped build their gaming interests. The money would have still been there. They should not chased the release of the PS4 and kept to their own schedule. Most of us are here in this forum because of our love for the Halo series and the community that surrounds, or used to surround it. Though gamer's in general face the same issues members here are with the XBOX One, it is especially tangible to Halo players when we see another product from MS that is placed on the market, much like Halo 4 was from Microsoft Studios, without being finished or properly tested and has taken so long to get it close to what was promised. Halo 4's issues drove many long term fans away from the franchise which also may happen to XBOX Live and XBOX One console users if timely fixes are not applied now. Even though Microsoft is planning on improving and tweaking the dashboard in the coming months, with a larger update, codenamed "Threshold" , planned in the spring 2015, the time to address the problems was before launch. Fun Fact The use of the term "Threshold" is a reference to the planet the first Halo ring orbited in the original game in the series, Halo Combat Evolved. View full article
  18. UPDATE http://www.343industries.org/forum/topic/29631-the-family-sharing-was-not-a-demo-system-after-all/?do=findComment&comment=269643 With the big news announced by microsoft on them taking a u-turn on their policies some of their features that were meant to be implemented had to be removed due to this decision. One of those features was Family Sharing, a feature many thought was to be very useful and were keen to use. Sharing games with friends on Xbox all over the world with just a push of a few buttons. But there were fans who didn't care about the implementation of the used games policy and were very happy and keen to for the family sharing feature and with the backtrack of the policies those fans were not happy about the loss of this feature. Getting to play games that friends can share with you digitally from a different part of the world seemed pretty cool. But we didn't realize the family sharing feature only shared a portion of the game to his/her's selected friend. It was just a demo. After the big news a microsoft employee gives his thoughts and explain the proper nature of this feature. "When your family member accesses any of your games, they’re placed into a special demo mode. This demo mode in most cases would be the full game with a 15-45 minute timer and in some cases an hour." "This allowed the person to play the game, get familiar with it then make a purchase if they wanted to. When the time limit was up they would automatically be prompted to the Marketplace so that they may order it if liked the game." Full blog can be read at heyuguysgaming Is seems clear now why Microsoft never flaunted this feature about too much and did it come as a big loss as some fans may have felt?
  19. This is something I want 343 to see and read, to take notes on what we the community what in Halo 5. So if any member of 343 reads this, although it is highly unlikely, please tell us out of everything in this list tell us what can and cannot be done on this list as there is a brand new Engine used in Halo 5 and it may not be capable of putting some of the stuff mentioned on this list in the game itself Halo 5 Multiplayer & Firefight [updated] Made by The RZI Guy All of these are the changes I made to the list, if you have any other suggestions, and if I like them, I will update it and give you credit for your awesome ideas. So if you like it and even if you don't like it, or want a few changes, please give me your thoughts so we can possibly make Halo 5 the best it can be. One person does not make a game, one Company does not make a game, it is a collaberation of many great minds who work out there thoughts and visions for something and make it into reality. [Thanks to Pureeey for some of his ideas, and corrections for what Halo 5 Multiplayer should be.] Thel' Vadamee Returns Not even a Multiplayer idea, but please bring Thel' Vadam The Arbiter back in Halo 5's Campaign and give him a role instead of being there for "just" the love of the fans! Halo: Escalation will be coming out in 1 month and that might be there way of bringing Arby into Halo 5. Lets hope so. Halo 2 Anniversary I think that after they make and release Halo 5 next year, they should make a Campaign DLC add on. Think about it, Halo 5 is coming out 10 years after Halo 2, so what if 343 actually made a Halo 2 Anniversary Campaign DLC for Halo 5, there would no multiplayer like they did with Halo: Anniversary, just a Full HD remake Halo 2's Campaign, this will bring Hundreds of Thousands of Halo Players back to Halo 5 to relive the glory days of Halo 2. Multiplayer Gameplay Halo 5 on the Xbox One has both Social and Ranked Playlists make a return with Custom Loadouts being in the Social Playlist. Both Custom Loadouts, like Halo 4 but "without armor abilities or perks" and also have Equipment being scattered around the map return. Preset Loadouts like with Halo: Reach but without armor abilities and instead having Equipment scattered across the map will also be in Halo 5. The Social Playlist will have Sprint and it would be a default ability like in Halo 4. Some of the Equipment are the old equipment from Halo 3, while some of them are old Armor Abilities that have been turned into an Equipment you pick up, instead of starting with it like an Armor Ability. I'll explain it later. In the Ranked Playlist, it will have a Halo 3-like set up with everyone spawning with the same Primary, secondary, grenade type and having Equipment scattered across the Map. Sprint "will not" be in the Ranked Playlist. Satisfying both players that like or hate Sprint. Both Social and Ranked will have Duel Wielding. Resupply becomes avaliable to everyone in both the Ranked and Social Playlists like it should have been in Halo 4. [Having resupply become a perk in Halo 4 and not being avaliable to everyone like its always been from Halo CE to Reach is rediculous.] [i would like to have Sprint, Evade and a new addition Slide from Destiny and Cod: Ghosts into Halo 5, but I don't know how to balance it out, or make it work out. I would like to have it all in one gametype somehow so if anyone has any idea of how to make it work, please comment and of course I will give you credit for this idea and any other idea you may have.] In Halo 4, When you are scoped in and someone shoots at you, you could still shoot at them while scoped. I loved that addition in Halo 4 as it would get annoying in other Halo games to have keep getting in and out of scope. That will also return. Players can join in midgame, but only in the first few minutes of the Game. Hitmarkers returns, but No Grenade Indicators. Weapon Skins will return in the few Playlists in Social that have Custom Loadouts, and Firefight (343 said they have no plans for Spartan Ops Season 2 so there will be no Spartan Ops in Halo 5). Another idea is that maybe we could choose different designs for each weapon. Like being able to choose between the Halo: Reach and Halo 4 Assault Rifle designs or the Halo 3 and Halo 4 Battle Rifle. There would be no difference in gameplay other than having a different layout of the weapon and also having a Weapon Skin along with whichever weapon design you choose, giving the player a ton of varietiy and customization. [Thanks to Wangtim3 for the idea of different weapon models, or at least that's where I got the idea.] Halo 5 Equipment Like I said earlier, Halo 3 Equipment returns but some of them are some of the old armor abilities from Reach and Halo 4. The Armor Abilities that are returning are no longer Armor Abilities but are now as Equipment like Halo 3 had it. The Bubble Shield, Jet Pack, Active Camoflage, Radar Jammer, Regeneration Field, Thruster Pack, Flare and Power Drain all return. The Regeneration Field, Bubble Shield, Power Drain, Active Camo, Radar Jammer, and Flair will be like in Halo 3, it will only be used once. The Jet Pack can be used only for a limited time before it breaks, it will not break if you dont use it. the Thruster Pack will be usable until the player dies in which another player can pick it up. Custom Game Matchmaking Halo 5 could have a feature that lets you choose what map and what gametype you want to play and searches other players that want the same map and gametype. There would be two playlists for this. • 1) it would only be default Maps and default Gametypes giving you XP for playing it as it normally would. • 2) it would be for Custom Made Maps and Gametypes and you would get no XP as it would be for players that want to have Custom Games and want to find other players to play those custom games as it can be hard to find enough people to play Custom Games. Plus there would be people that purposly try to rig the map so they win, so again, you would not get any XP so there wouldn't be a reason to cheat or rig the map. This would help solve both finding people for your custom games and others players that try to cheat. Destructible Environments Halo 5 Multiplayer should also have destructible Environments, wall panals can fall of, certain man cannons can be destroyed. No buildings can be destroyed in multiplayer. Halo 5 should feature some player-triggered environmental hazards like floors that can be electricized like in Vertigo in Halo 4, another good example is High Ground from Halo 3. Another thing is that in the Halo 4 Campaign level Infinity, when driving the Mantis, you could destroy some bridges above the player. Perhapes something similar could be seen in Halo 5 Multiplayer. Ist Person Driving When driving a vehicle, air or ground, by pressing the thumbstick you can switch between 1st Person or 3rd Person when Driving a vehicle like in Battlefield 3. Creating a whole new driving experience in Halo. The same can be done when holding the Flamethrower or any Covenant or UNSC Turret, by pressing the thumbstick, you can switch between 1st and 3rd Person. Custom Emblems Like in Cod: Black Ops, you should be able to create and customize your own emblem. Now of course, there will be people who will make sexual pictures or anything else that is innapropriate, so while you can make your own emblem, anyone who makes an innapropriate emblem in Halo 5 will lose there ability to do so and will go back to Halo's original way of making a Halo emblem. You can choose to have the classic way of making an emblem if you choose to do so. Duel Weilding Returns Duel Wielding returns better than Ever! You can sprint when duel wielding without dropping your weapons. Armor Customization In Halo 5, I would like to transfer my Halo 4 armor configuration into Halo 5. Like how you could transfer your Mass Effect Character from Mass Effect to Mass Effect 2 and 2 to 3. The Armor configuration you have in Halo 4 would transfer over and only that armor set would transfer, no other armor set would transfer over so you have to choose wisely as to what armor that you liked in Halo 4 to bring over to Halo 5. Although this idea of transfering you're armor to Halo 5 is probably just me, which I understand if some people don't like the idea. To unlock armor in Halo 5 you should have to do Vidmasters Achievements which I think need to return and also make more Vidmaster Challanges than Bungie did with Halo 3 and ODST, playing the Campaign Solo on Legendary, finding Skulls and Terminals in the Campaign and any other Campaign Achievements. Now some armor could be unlocked in Multiplayer, but they need to take time and real effort to try to unlock them. In Halo 4 it was too easy, in Halo 5, it needs to have a challange trying to get the Armor you want, so you actually have a reason to play multiplayer. Also many of the old Armor from Halo 3 and Halo: Reach that were forgotten in Halo 4 needs to make a return These Armor Confingurations need to return. Halo 3 Armor Returning Mark VI Mark V EVA (Halo 3 Design) CQB EOD Hayabusa [Definetly!] ODST Helmet (Halo 3 Design) Marathon Helmet Rogue Helmet Halo: Reach Armor Returning Recon CQC Hazop Operator Scout (Reach Design) Commando JFO Grenadier Sniper Sholders Jump Jet Halo 4 Armor Returning Recruit Warrior Air Assault Soldier Aviator Defender EVA (Halo 4 Design) War Master Orbital EOD (Halo 4 Design) Pathfinder Rogue C.I.O Venator Raider Scanner Strider Mark V (Halo 4 Design) ODST (Halo 4 Design) Prefect Ricochet Vanguard All Halo 4 Forearms, legs and all Visor Colors. Keep in mind, I think they should keep multiple designs for some of these Armor configurations like Scout, Mark V, ODST, EOD, EVA etc to satisfy players that like one one armor design from one game over another [Example me prefering the Halo 4 Scout Helmet over the Reach Scout Helmet] Elites Epic Return Elites Return in Halo 5 Multiplayer with Customizable Armor and are Playable with Spartans in Team Games like in Halo 3 with no difference except size, so playing as an Elite is your own choice and your own risk. You can also choose to play as a Spartan or an Elite at the Beginning of the Game, like choosing a side in Star Wars Battlefront, instead of having to switch between Spartans and Elites before the Game like in Halo 3, you can choose before you first spawn. When the Elites are teaming with Spartans like in Halo 3, the Elites start off with the same weapon as then, except for a few gametypes in which they can start with a Storm Rifle, Plasma Rifle, Covenant Carbine etc. I also want to have the Plasma Repeater from Halo: Reach to return, but it is now a Covenant LMG. When the Elites get the Thruster Pack, they get the Evade Ability instead, but both would have to be balanced equally with the same distance and recharge time. Elites also have the default ability to Sprint if they are in the Social Playlist but will not be able to sprint in the Ranked Playlist as there will be no sprint in the Ranked Playlist. Elites are in both Ranked and Social Playlists. Also an Elite Playlist would be a choice in the Social Playlist Gametypes for everyone who wants to play as an Elite. Medals Weapon spree medals were given a significant overhaul in Halo: Reach. While in previous games they were only awarded for consecutive kills with the same weapon, in Halo: Reach, the player needed to only accumulate the number of kills without dying. Halo: Reach had the best Medal System in any Halo Game. Halo 5 needs to have another overhaul bigger than that. Having" all" the Gameplay Medals in Halo: Reach and all the new objective and other new medals that were added in Halo 4. (New Medals) Vengence - kill the opponent who just ended your killing spree These Multiplayer Gametypes should make a return in Halo 5 1. Dominion - Halo 4 2. Extraction - Halo 4 3. Headhunter - Halo: Reach 4. Infection and Flood - Halo 3 & 4 5. Invasion/Invasion Slayer - Halo: Reach 6. Race - Halo: Reach 7. Regicide - Halo 4 8. Stockpile - Halo: Reach 9. Conquest - Battlefield 10. Gun Game - Halo 4 Mod 11. Hostage Rescue - Halo 4 Mod 12. Space Battle - Battlefront II 13. Search and Destroy - CoD 14. King of the Hill 15. Assault 16. Capture the Flag/One Flag CTF 17. Elite Slayer 18. Griffball 19. Generater Defense 20. Juggernaut 21. King of the Hill 22. Oddball 23. Silenced Slayer 24. SWAT 25. Team Snipers 26. Territory 27. VIP Cature the Flag Capture the Flag obviously returns in Halo 5. you still hold a pistol when carrying the flag like in Halo 4, but now returns the ability to drop the flag whenever you want like all Halo games before Halo 4. In a few varients of CTF, you cannot drop the flag, for those that like that change in Halo 4. You can have those settings in custom gametypes as well. Multiplayer Space Battles Much like Star Wars: Battlefront II, Halo 5 should have Space battles. Each team have 4 seperate hangers, 2 players in each of them. It will be 8v8, each team spawns in a hanger, gets into a Pelican, Broadsword etc and has to destroy parts of the enemy ship, and kill other players on the other team. It can be UNSC vs. Covenant Space Battle, Red vs. Blue Spartans Space Battles with two UNSC Frigate Ships and/or it could be Red vs. Blue Elites Space Battles with two Covenant Ships. Capture the Flag and Assault would also be available in Space Battles. Also have some other gametypes like trying to download data from the enemy teams ship and returning it to your ship, or have a Hostage Rescue gametype. When playing CTF you would have to take the flag in a Pelican and have someone drive you back to you're ship, promoting more teamwork in CTF. Silenced Slayer Silenced Slayer is regular Team Slayer where every weapon has a silencer attached to it. Except Rocket Launcher, Spartan Laser, Rail Gun and Sticky Detonator. No Covenant Weapons. Everyone Spawns with a Silenced SMG and No duel Wielding in this gametype. True Skill Ranking System Halo 3's True Skill ranking system for its matchmaking on a per-playlist basis. A linear measure of a player's experience with the matchmade portion of the game and each particular playlist is also tracked (denoted as EXP), but make it as or even more difficult than it was in Halo 2 and 3. Active Roster Returns to show you who is online, what they are doing and join them if avaliable Firefight Firefight would return in Halo 5 like its always been, with no major difference. You could fight against the Covenant like before, but you could finally fight the Flood in firefight and now you could also fight against the Promeatheans and even the Innsurectionists from the Halo Novels. If you want, you can play as an Elite and fight against another Spartan like in Halo: Reach's Firefight. You could also play as any other Covenant, Flood or Promeathean in Firefight against Spartans. Kind of like Horde Mode from Gears of War. So if you want to play as a Grunt or Jackel, you can finally do that. If you want to play as a Covenant against a Spartan, but don't have anyone to play with or don't have Xbox Live, the Spartans would also be an AI to play against making it easy or hard to fight, choosing the difficulty settings you want for it. You can also Forge your own map and play a Firefight on it, but only in custom games but it could make it into firefight matchmaking if 343 approves it. Space Firefight In Halo 5, they should bring back Firefight, but bring it back with a bang. Bring back Firefight on the ground and in Space. You would start in a hanger and would be able to choose if you want to fly a Pelican, Longsword, Broadsword or any other UNSC Flying Vehicle in Space Firefight to fight against the Covenant, "or" you could play as a Covenant and you could fly in a Phantom, Seraph, Space Banshee from Reach or any other Covenant Flying Vehicle against the UNSC. in Halo 4, storyline wise, Multiplayer is a simulation aboard the UNSC Infinity, Firefight and Space Firefight would also be a simulation aboard the Infinity to show other players how long the Player could last against the Covenant, Promeatheans or the Flood etc Halo 5 Multiplayer Map Packs Halo 5 should have 4 or even 5 Map Packs. Each Map Pack has 3 New maps, 1 Map Remake from a past Halo Game and 1 brand New Firefight Map. Halo 5 should have 5 Forge Worlds 1. Forge World (Bigger) - Reach 2. Impact (Bigger) - Halo 4 3. A Lava filled Forge World 4. A Snowy Forge World 5. A Desert Forge World And other Huge Maps for Forge. Possibly twice or even 3 times as big as Forge world. Please watch these 2 videos Halo 5's Forge needs this! Civilian Vehicles and all. Out of all the Multiplayer Maps, I want 1. Waterworks from Halo 2 2. Breakneck from Halo 2 and Halo: Reach/Anniversary 3. Coagulation from Halo 2 4. Last Resort from Halo 3 - All to return sometime in Halo 5 Halo 5 Weapons U.N.S.C. Assault Rifle Battle Rifle Designated Marksman Rifle [DMR] SMG (Duel Wield) Magnum (Duel Wield) Shotgun Rocket Launcher Sniper Rifle (Halo: Reach Updated Design) Sparan Laser Railgun SAW Sticky Detonator Flamethrower Machine Gun Turret Frag Grenade Covenant Storm Rifle Covenant Carbine Plasma Rifle (Duel Wield) Plasma Repeater (New Covenant LMG) Plasma Pistol (Duel Wield) Brute Plasma Rifle (Duel Wield) Brute Spiker (Duel Wield) Brute Shot Gravity Hammer Energy Sword Needler Concussion Rifle Beam Rifle Fuel Rod Cannon Plasma Turret Plasma Grenade Fire Grenade (from Halo 3) Forerunner / Promethean Light Rifle Suppressor Bolt Shot Scattershot Binary Rifle Incineration Cannon Sentinel Beam (finally returns) Pulse Grenade *New Forerunner SMG, other new Forerunner Weapons and a new Promethean Turret* Vehicles U.N.S.C Warthog (Default, Guass & Rocket) Troop Transport Warthog Mongoose Falcon (Modified Version) Scorpion Tank Mantis (Weaker Version) Pelican Dropship Broadsword Covenant Ghost Banshee Spectre (Returns) Wraith Chopper (Returns) Scarab (Certain Gametype) Seraph Phantom Dropship Lich Thanks for reading and if any member 343 Industries saw and read all this, please take it all into consideration.
  20. As we all know, Xbox One is not doing so well. I am not going to buy the new Xbox One, nor do I know anyone (in real life) that is getting it. Getting to the point, how do you think the sales of Xbox One will affect the sales of Halo 5? Let me know what you think, and tell me if you're buying the XB1. I will probably buy the XB1 when it is slimmed, kinectless, and ESPECIALLY when Halo 5 is out.
  21. Why in the world are people not wanting to get XBOX one? All they did was go a little over board on the social media thing... and who the hell cares if the Kinect will be on 24/7? Why in the hell do some idiots think that the NSA is watching them? To all those people that think like that: STOP BEING PARANOID!!!!!!!!!!!! MasterChief-117
  22. As we prepare for launch of the Xbox One Yusuf Mehdi and Marc Whitten from Xbox gives us a 12 minute demo of the console in which they walk us through the new dashboard which can be color customized. We get to see an interesting new way to sign in to our accounts and another run through of other new Xbox live features and apps such as upload studio, skype, instant switching and more. Here is the Xbox One walkthrough

I'm crediting www.xbox360achievements.org for this, and I'm directly quoting this article... http://www.xbox360achievements.org/news/news-15251-Here-s-How-the-Xbox-One-Achievement-System-Works.html Here's How the Xbox One Achievement System Works Written Thursday, June 13, 2013 By Alan Pettit View author's profile There has been some trepidation in the achievement community about the Xbox One achievement system. When they announced some of the changes (timed achievements, cross-game achievements, community achievements, etc) many of us were worried they had completely ruined a beautiful thing. Then there was the Microsoft Store achievement for pre-ordering the console itself, which did not receive many praises either. However, while most people saw that as a bad thing, it actually gave me a glimmer of hope being worth zero Gamerscore. It's just a badge, showing something you did at that point, right? That's what normal achievements are as well, but with Gamerscore, it showed that you've "finished" the game once you unlocked them all. But can you ever truly finish something like Skyrim or Halo MP? Not really, and Microsoft has possibly found the perfect way to extend the lives of their games even further through the achievement system without completely annoying Gamerscore completionists. Major Nelson has posted an outline of how the new system will work. You can read the full articlehere, but I've bullet pointed the important stuff below. Only video games will award Gamerscore. Your Gamertag and all existing achievements/Gamerscore will carry over. There will be two separate types of achievements. The first type is what we have now, doing something in a video game to earn points. The second type is called a Challenge, and will be essentially serving as a badge only. Both types are still considered Achievements. Challenges can be time based, do not award Gamerscore, can be cross-game ("played Halo 5? Here's a free Halo 6 Challenge Achievement!"), and some can be unlocked as a community ("as a community, kick one billion chickens in the next Fable!"). Both types are cloud-powered, allowing free additional achievements if a developer chooses (no longer tied specifically to DLC), and developers can change an achievement if it is too easy or hard, or if they'd simply like people to explore that tiny island no one bothers going to at the bottom of the map. Developers can also run contests or polls for the community to create or vote on the next achievements added to a game. Consumers can now unlock digital artwork, new maps, unlockable characters, and temporary stat boosts via achievements. As well as sneak peek content, early access, or subscription extensions. This is not limited to games, video and music apps will have achievements. Better achievement tracking in games (progress toward collectibles, etc). Achievement feeds on the dashboard to show the newest achievements your friends have unlocked. Upcoming Challenges lists so you don't miss out on the timed stuff. So there you have it. Personally, I think they've nailed it. The only thing I would like cleared up now, is if there will be two separate entries on your Gamertag for each game with the two different types, or will each list be flooded with a bunch of zero Gamerscore achievements for all these Challenges? Hopefully the former, if only to make archiving them on our website easier! So does this ease your fears, or do you still think they're trying to fix something that ain't broke? Sound off below.

The new kinect sensor that will be coming with the Xbox One has another new cool feature up it's sleeve, it will have the ability to scan and redeem Xbox live codes by simply holding up the code card in view of the sensor and saying "Xbox use code" the sensor reads the QR code on the card and it is redeemed in a matter of seconds. It is now expected that all Xbox One game vouchers will come with a QR for this feature. Here we have Major Nelson doing a quick demonstration. https://vine.co/v/hIAEZuQp5MK View full article
