  1. Hello everyone, I'm LEGENDARY ENGRAM, and welcome to the Weekly News Wrap-Up. I just want to let everyone know next week I'm taking an extremely important set of tests that will help determine what High School I end up in, and another advanced test a few weeks later, so do wish me luck! Anyway, let's get down to our spooky set of articles. This is gonna be a bit weird as two articles are on the same game, but keep reading and you'll understand. View attachment: WNW 101114.JPG Sunset Overdrive Gets Exclusive Content for Day One, Season Pass, and Pre-Orders! Sunset Overdrive looks to be Insomniac Games' next big hit, with explosive action, hilarious humour, and crisp visuals. GameInformer.com reports if you pre-order, get the day one edition, or get the season pass you'll be one of the elite entitled to more goodies in the game at launch. One such example is pre-ordering on Xbox Live, which will net you Acordes de la Meurte, a guitar with melting candles littered on it, and the Hangover, a prickly spiked dumb-bell bat. Pre-ordering will entitle you to two weapons and a costume of the game's mascot. There are others exclusive to certain retailers, but the Season Pass also has a few interesting additions. Purchasing will grant you access to six outfits, two weapon modifiers, and two traps. View attachment: 2555793-sunset-overdrive-e3-propain-launcher.jpg Are you angered these bonuses aren't in the game even though they're already made? Let me know below! Dragon Age: Inquisition PC Specs Revealed Dragon Age: Origins held some promise, which was quickly squashed away by it's successor, Dragon Age II, and will hopefully be somewhat restored in the third, Dragon Age: Inquisition. IGN.com uploaded the game's PC specs if you're looking to buy the game on it's best looking and running platform. You'll need a minimum of Windows 7 or 8.1, and a recommended at the same level. There is an 8 GB of system memory recommended label, but 4GB is fine if you want a minimal experience. 512 MB Graphical Memory is the minimum for the game, but in a massive jump, 3 GB memory is recommended. Hard Drive space is the same for both, 26 GB. Graphics and CPU of course range, but it's recommended you have a more up to date one like an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660. View attachment: 2623524-da3.jpg Are you purchasing the game on PC or console, if at all? Debate below! Dragon Age: Inquisition 900p on Xbox One, 1080p on PS4 Another interesting piece of news on Inquisition, the game's developers revealed that the game will run lower on the Xbox One than on the PS4. GameSpot.com has the story, where they report that the PS4 version will run at a full 1080p, and the Xbox One version at only 900p. Bioware had this to say, "We maximized the current potential of each platform." basically meaning currently that's all they can push out of both systems. Inquisition isn't the only game to be skimped on the Xbox One, games like Assassin's Creed Unity and Sunset Overdrive have been graphically cut because of a lack of good hardware. View attachment: bloghome_ps4_hires.jpg Is only 900p fine with you, or do you expect more from next gen? Discuss below! Welp, that's all for this week, I'm Legendary Engram, signing out! 5. Over the past couple of days there has been an avalanche of Xbox news that has come out of this years GamesCom, from reveals of Halo: The Master Chief Collection to Xbox exclusive deals and new bundles. But one piece of news that has gone unnoticed by many (myself included) is that the Xbox One will soon allow users to watch Movies and TV shows from USB devices or DLNA through a home network. One of Xbox's lead engineers, Ashley Speicher, talked about a list of features that will be coming soon to the Xbox One in future updates and one of those features is that it will be compatible with a long list of media file formats, some that are already compatible with the Xbox 360 and some that weren't before such as .mkv, gif's, and Mpeg 2TS. "Soon, Xbox One owners will be able to watch videos, listen to music, and browse photos from USB and DLNA with the most popular file formats, including Mpeg 2 TS, .MKV and animated gifs by the end of the year," Ashley Speicher said in an interview with Xbox Wire. This feature will come to great use to Xbox One owners as it offers a large list of supported files but may somewhat bring controversy as pirated content can be used. To get the full listed of supported file formats click the source link below. Another useful feature that is coming will allow users to view their friends, join parties, read messages and view achievements through snap mode, so there won't be any interruption while playing games or using apps. One of the other new features coming is called "Threaded Messages" what that does is that it allows users to view full conversation history it can also be done. There will also be an update to friends activities, users will be able to view the most played games their friends have been playing and a Gamerscore leaderboard will be coming which will allow gamers to compare how much their Gamerscore has gone up compared to their friends over the last 30 days. Click the source below to watch the interview and to get a look at the new features coming to the Xbox One. What do you think about the new features and apps coming to the Xbox One? Are you looking forward to them? Leave a comment below. Source: Xbox Wire View full article

  8. The highly praised action game from 2012, Sleeping Dogs, is coming to next generation consoles this fall according to an Amazon listing! When it comes to 'listings' on games that aren't confirmed, most of all we see is a brief extra option to a certain game, for example a recent Halo The Master Chief Collection listing for PC, however, today this isn't the case. Amazon.com has listed the popular action-adventure shooter from 2012 known as Sleeping Dogs. The game is the full package, including an art book, DLC, and a redesigned cover that looks to also have a slipcase to it. It is incredibly rare to actually have a listing show the entire new cover and features and not be officially confirmed by the company yet. However, the listing is still there and will likely stay, meaning Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition, is confirmed! The game is listed as $59.99 USD and will launch October 14th for retail and possibly download soon after. If you pre-order now from Amazon, you will get the exclusive concept art book alongside the game, it is unknown if this book will also be available at retail. The new kinect sensor that will be coming with the Xbox One has another new cool feature up it's sleeve, it will have the ability to scan and redeem Xbox live codes by simply holding up the code card in view of the sensor and saying "Xbox use code" the sensor reads the QR code on the card and it is redeemed in a matter of seconds. It is now expected that all Xbox One game vouchers will come with a QR for this feature. Here we have Major Nelson doing a quick demonstration. https://vine.co/v/hIAEZuQp5MK
  15. I'm not late, it doesn't count! We have your usual three articles today, tried to spice it up by making them a bit more diverse this time around. So sit down, get your popcorn, and prepare for- What? I need to leave the premises? Why? I don't work here anymore? That's insane! You're getting the swat dogs, okay I'm out! Before we start the link in the article below does contain coarse language, viewer discretion is advised. View attachment: WNW 71914.JPG Ashley Johnson (Ellie, The Last of Us) Responds to Ubisoft Female Assassin Controversy Ubisoft has been under heavy fire from Gaming Press, Gamers, and men and women alike in the gaming media for their decision to not include a playable female Assassin. Ashley Johnson, best known as Ellie from The Last of Us, is one of those women, as she has fired at Ubisoft according to Polygon.com. Leaving out Ashley's choice words likely too mature to be fully stated here, she is completely against the decision, saying, "It's 2014! How many video games do you have to make to realize maybe have an option to have a female be in there?" Her co-star in the game, Troy Baker, has made a much less volatile statement, cautioning the idea of forced inclusion of females. Ubisoft has tried to quell the massive response of angered gamers, but even their wide array of efforts have done little to stop people. Ubisoft is composed of a diverse library of employees, men, women, foreigners, and for the most part anything in between. They were also under similar fire for controversy over the Far Cry 4 cover art showcasing a lighter skinned man holding down a darker skinned man. Sony announces two new PS4 bundles in Japan: Custom Destiny Bundle and The Last of Us Bundle PlayStation 4 bundles have been popping up in massive degrees lately, between the Driveclub bundle announced and the recent questionable Frozen bundle, Japan has a wide variety of different PlayStation 4s to choose from, and now we can add two more to that list. IGN.com states that Sony has announced a Destiny bundle with a custom console, and a The Last of Us Remastered bundle with a custom TLOU: R themed PS4. The Destiny bundle is the same as it is here in United States, save for the Destiny logo imprinted unto the console. The Last of Us Remastered bundle includes the game, the PlayStation 4 with the two main characters on the cover, and the DualShock 4, all in their signature black. Destiny is slightly different sporting the Sony logo on it's bottom right corner as well, as it is a PS4 exclusive in Japan. The bundles will likely be the same price as your typical game/console bundle. Xbox One Summer Update Features Mobile Purchases, 3D Blu-Ray Compatibility, and More The Xbox One has received quite a few helpful updates following it's launch about a year ago, including a helpful video editor. 16. In a Podcast episode, the head of Microsoft Phil Spencer commented on the idea of bringing back the original proposed Family Sharing Plan and said that it may happen in the future, but it will be a long and bumpy road with the DRM attachment. Let's take a trip back to June 2013, on the dawn of E3 2013, Microsoft Studios is under heavy fire for their new DRM system, and especially their fee on used games, taking the war publishers have had on used games to new heights. One thing however that was done right was the idea of a Family Sharing program on Xbox One, talked about in the GamertagRadio.com podcast with Phil Spencer, the new head of Microsoft. You see, when the outstanding policies were revamped, the Family Sharing plan went with them, never to see the light of day again, at least, that's what we thought. In the podcast Phil explained how he had loved the idea of a Family Sharing program, and how it is on their agenda for a new, game-based Xbox. He specifically stated, "We looked at the digital features that we had talked about last year and as a gamer, there were a lot of those features that I think really resonated . . . As I look at our monthly update roadmap, those kind of features are in our roadmap. There is a little bit of a challenge now that you've got DRM on a disc." So the idea isn't totally out of the question, in fact, he pretty much states the idea is on the center of their plan, just that it would be difficult to do thanks to DRM already implemented. 19. I was wondering if Halo 2 and 3 would have their normal ranking system still. I was a huge fan of it, to me it made it worth the challenge to legitly make it to level 50. I found it really boring to only be offered credits to buy different armors can crap. A rank a 5 year old could match up too by playing 8 hours longer than me one day. Seeing someones rank told me how good they were so if I was beaten I known I still need to improve. When I reached 50 in Halo 3 in Lone Wolves, Team Doubles, and in Team Swat I was proud. I worked hard and had a ton of close matches with skilled players. Some people think rank is pointless and not fun to be apart of. Well thats why both halo 2 and halo 3 had social playlists...just for that reason. I would play those too if I just wanted to have fun. So with this collection of my best memories all together in 1 disc, I really hope the ranking system stays the same. Just have a way to report and ban players who boost, derank on purpose, or afk so it doesn't affect us legit players. SInce everyone can capture game play footage and we send a link to what happen please have a ban hammer for those players. In Halo 2 I reach level 30 In Halo 3 I reach level 50 What was your legit rank in both games, and also who wants to join me on my quest to have the first legit 50 in halo 2 if it still exists?
  20. According to "respected sources" given to VG247 Microsoft will be lowering the price of the Xbox One sometime this year. VG247 reported that it will fall down to the price of the price the PS4 "Microsoft has told trusted publishing partners that it will release a new model Xbox One before the end of the year, a senior source has confirmed to VG247. Although the source was unable to confirm that the system will be disc-less and feature a bluetooth adaptor, the new console will be priced cheaper than the current $499 model. Upon release, Microsoft would likely drop the price of the current Xbox One model, placing it in the same price point as Sony’s PlayStation 4." There has been quite a lot of rumors buzzing around regarding Microsoft this week, mostly coming from Neogaf by the user of "ntkrnl". There has been several rumors including a Halo 2 anniversary edition being set to release this year and Halo 5 being delayed as many of you may already know. But many of us were unsure on how to take these rumors but according to Kotaku nktrnl is connected to microsoft and they are seeking legal action against these leaks. "So how valid is this stuff? Well, thanks to a reliable source, I've been able to confirm that ntkrnl is indeed connected to Microsoft, although I haven't been able to verify any of the poster's claims. Just because the leaker is in a position to know this information doesn't mean this information is true. (When I reached out this morning, Microsoft declined to comment.)" Another Kotaku statement. "On top of all that, according to one person familiar with the situation who spoke to me under condition of anonymity, Microsoft is currently trying to track down and identify ntkrnl. According to that person, Microsoft executives are looking to take legal action against ntkrnl, which, again, doesn't mean that everything he says is true." So with the latest news on these rumors and Microsoft seeking legal action, what are your views on all of this so far?
  21. Microsoft has released PC drivers for the Xbox One controller today, the announcement came from Xbox Live's Major Nelson. Gamers can now use their Xbox One controller to play games and use apps on their PC by downloading the required drivers(available on Major Nelson's site). Major Nelson also stated that they are planning to release the drivers in a Windows update in the near future but gamers can get early access to it today. A micro USB cable will be required as it does not support a wireless connection at the moment. Games that currently support the Xbox 360 controller will be compatible with the Xbox One controller. Now on to the conspiracy. In the announcement of the Xbox One controller PC drivers on Major Nelson's site there is a picture that shows the Xbox One controller that is connected to a Surface Pro to demonstrate the new functionality of the feature and it has the Halo 2's main title screen on it. See below. Now this could be solely for demonstration purposes to show of the new feature but with the cavalcade of rumors and "hints" over the past number of months many might take this as another nudge towards Halo 2 anniversary being in the works. So Is it? It does seem suspicious that they are using Halo 2 in that image and not an image of one of their recent products such as Halo: Spartan Assault considering it is the latest Halo game out right now and the fact that it is available to play on PC and Windows devices. Is this another nod towards a Halo 2 anniversary or is it just an innocent act? Anyway I'll leave it for you to decide, leave your thoughts on this news below. 22. Phil Spencer has announced instant screenshot sharing for the Xbox One. Phil Spencer has taken to Twitter to reply to a fan, here's the full conversation: Jamie Marris: @XboxP3 any plans to bring the ability to share in game screenshots to say social networks? I.e twitter? Phil Spencer: @jmarris09 Yea, this is the list for the monthly updates, team is making great progress on the updates. More features to come. Now which social networking platforms this will land on is unknown at this time, but it will likely have Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Players already have the ability to stream gameplay through Twitter and even upload gameplay directly to YouTube, but this will give players yet another option to share their Xbox One experience. This will likely come as just a small update, and likely will not be part of the larger update coming in June. The update coming in June will be massive, and if you've yet to read about it, you can do so HERE. What do you think of this update? Are you looking forward to all of these updates coming to the Xbox One? Be sure to leave your thoughts in the comments below. SOURCE:TWITTER View full article
  23. In the wake of the newly announced Halo 5: Guardians, a collection of Halo: CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 4 all remastered in HD for the Xbox One are rumored to come soon to market! Halo 5: Guardians already has Halo fans pumped and ready for E3 and beyond, and with so much to decipher about the un-turned stones rooted in this news, I've decided to take a different turn and talk about a recent Halo rumor. Engadget.com recently posted an article themselves confirming the collection, with backing that Microsoft themselves said they would release as much Halo as possible. They stated how 3 year titles would not be frequent, and with Sabre Interactive already working on an unannounced title, could it be possible that it's a large collection for Xbox One rather than just Halo 2 Anniversary, as viable as the idea is? The full description also states that, "Our sources say that the set will zero in on Halo's most famous soldier to refresh audience's memories ahead of Halo 5's release, so curiosities like Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach likely won't be a part of the package. " This could be an off-put for some who love ODST and Reach, as well as the ever-forgotten RTS Halo Wars. View attachment: HaloCEPoster.jpg Would you want a Collection of all four of the classics on Xbox One, or do you just want 343i to focus on their core titles? Debate, and be sure to like and comment, thanks for reading!
  24. Mojang, the developers of Minecraft, have officially announced the release date and other details for it's next generation version of Minecraft. Minecraft was one of the most popular titles on the Xbox 360 when it was released, and the PS3 version sold very well alongside it, and now another edition of Minecraft has been announced. According to Xbox.com, Minecraft: Xbox One Edition will be releasing this August on Xbox Live, with the later disc version not announced as of yet. As well, you can transfer date from your Xbox 360 version to the superior copy, with skins and maps making the jump, but some skins will require some patience to be added back, as a few were left out. Upgrading will cost $4.99 USD, and can be done via disc or digital account.
