  1. Titanfall... Only a short time away. Yet with the beta out in public for the last several weeks, we get an insider look at what may become the next hit series in gaming. Gameplay appearing and mentioned as CoD-like in mechanics, with the addition of "Titans", mechs if you will, utilized by players when earned to combat the opposing team's artillery and tactics. As of late, many, many people praise the title, seeing at as a revolutionary game, and a tad different than what we are used to, especially those who anticipate it to kill the Call of Duty franchise in its rise through the ranks of numerous other names in gaming... Though it is highly unlikely. Few bugs may exist in game, but aside from that, the controls and gameplay is flawless, very enjoyable as I hear people dub it as "the most fun they've had in a long time". Titanfall 2 may come to the PS4 console. PS3 will never see the time of day. Sony attempted to claim right to the Titanfall series but failed. Titanfall is a Microsoft exclusive whereas they are trying to procure exclusive DLC for Xbox one. Sony has spoken up clarifying that there hardware has a significant advantage over the Xbox One system, as the game quality shows a performance gap between the would be Titanfall on the PS4 as compared to Xbox One. The performance gap rivals that of Call of Duty: Ghost on both consoles. Here is a source showing the performance gap between the consoles for CoD:Ghosts- http://www.hardwarepal.com/cod-ghosts-runs-720p-xbox-one/ It’s important to notice that this isn’t a hardware performance differentiation but more of a compatibility optimization. While Titanfall will be adding monster dlc sometime soon we shouldn’t expect more titans. Apparently, balancing titan’s abilities proves to be a difficult task. If they care so much about balance I wonder what other aspect of the game have been given such loving care. For now all we get in the way of monster is some sort of huge brachiosaurus lingering in the background. I think I’ll name it ‘Fred’. Here is a recent link: http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/03/14/titanfall-dev-talks-new-titans-narrative-and-monster-dlc I think Titanfall will live up to expectations. It just remains to be seen how long it will hold it’s appeal. I want it to succeed. Because, I think it is such a unique game. Credit: Delpen9, Sparky, Fox McCloud
  2. Hello all, I had not much to do so I decided to review the new game I just got. I recently recieved Titanfall in my mailbox and didn't hesitate to eject my former only game for the Xbox One (Bf4) and insert Titanfall. After watching some Youtube video's while it was installing, I really love the multi tasking on this console, I could finally boot up the game. After some general pressing start and A procedures I was finally able to get into the game. I really liked how they set up the tutorial but after 10 stations it was getting kinda boring and the Hammond industries (I belive that's the name) logo appearing after each station was a bit useless. After that was done I could finally play some myself. I launched the campaign and was really surprised to see that it was a multiplayer campaign! I was amazed by how they combined multiplayer gameplay with a campaign story line. Although I still don't know how the side your playing against views this campaign story. You really get immersed into the game. And the AI grunts and other troops make it look like a real battlefield. Although it's a bit weird how the AI decides to crouch down in the open and fire in the general direction of the enemy basicly painting a gaint bulls-eye on their heads. Lost a few matches in there, but hey I'm new to this. I decided to check out the regular multiplayer so I was able to decide what game mode to play. I went with the regular TDM like gametype. After some time playing I noticed how quickly you are able to obtain a Titan, and how easy it is to lose it again . My first Titan didn't last longer than 30 seconds as it was instantly crushed by two enemy titans and a Pilot who was riding me like a little piggy. After I got used to the game some more I was really able to defeat enemy titans and even achieve some awesome streaks and multi kills, which also invoke funny or witty comments from the officer talking through your HUD. And seeing enemies try to flee to their evac and seeing them get shot out of the air while they 'try' to escape really brought a smile to my face. Overall I really really enjoy this game. A fast pased FPS with gaint mechs? What's not to like about that?! For now I give this game a 8.5/10 and I highly recommend picking this game up and if you do not own the Xbox One yet buy the bundle. You will not be disappointed. Thanks for reading through this massive wall of text. It is the first review I've ever written and I'd like to get some tips and tricks for future reviews. That's it, Good day to you all! Post EDIT: Thanks to Total Mayhem for the better lay-out!
  3. A recent slue of rumors and debates argued whether Titanfall would run at 1080p or not, today we have learned that Titanfall will be running at native 792p at Launch. Titanfall's grand launch on Xbox One and PC is fast approaching with the midnight release already happening in some places, so naturally, fans of the game wondered what the resolution would be, seeing as it is so late in the pre-release window. Today, it's been officially confirmed by lead engineer Richard Baker that Titanfall runs just short of 800p. Richard said that, "There was an issue with decals taking a lot more time than they should which we fixed for launch, The worst-case scenarios are better, I think. The average is probably about the same as the beta." Reports had already surfaced on sites like mp1st.com that the game would run at this level, but nearly no one could believe the rumor to be true, as they believed this would be the first hit exclusive to run at a full 1080p. View attachment: titanfall0617-610b.jpg This however, does not mean that this couldn't be rectified in a patch in the near future. In fact, it's likely that the game will be patched. Baker went on to say, "For day one it's not going to change. We're still looking at it for post-day one. We're likely to increase resolution after we ship." This could mean that a 1080p Titanfall will exist somewhat in the near future after a couple of patches. This is sad information for those who were expecting much higher resolutions from the game, but has this swayed your opinion on purchasing Titanfall for Xbox One? View full article
  4. Titanfall's Beta has been out since Valentine's day but there is still a lot to uncover. Titanfall has had a few exciting weeks with all of the praise that the beta is getting, but there is still more to learn that lies just beneath the surface. Reddit user FallenFusion has leaked some behind the scene images of this upcoming Respawn Entertainment Title. He shows us four new aspects that the common population still has yet to see; Zipline, Generations, Pilot Hunter, and Turrets. Pilot Hunter is the game mode that was released with the beta, but we finally get a description of what that game mode is: Kill the enemy team’s Pilots to reach the score limit and win—one point is awarded for each Pilot killed. Although killing Grunts and Spectres in this mode will not earn points towards your team’s score, doing so will still give you build time reductions on your replacement Titans and Titan Core Ability. Turrets will be able to destroy anything including Titans. They are often in very urban areas such as onto of building, and will have an incredible range of motion. They can also be switched to fight for the other team when nearby consoles are compromised. Generations is something that we already know a little about thanks to another reddit user named RazorUK. But we finally got a screenshot to further our understanding. Click Here Ziplines travel both ways up and down. Just hold the reload button to latch on and ride. 5. Bluepoint Games has been given two extra weeks to work on the Xbox 360 version of Titanfall. With Titanfall receiving such critical acclaim and being nearly a month away from launch, fans will be saddened to hear that the Xbox 360 version of the game has been delayed. This was recently announced at Ea.com by EA's Vice President. The original release dates, March 11th in North America and March 13th in Europe, have been pushed about two weeks back for the current generation version, with a March 25th launch in North America and a March 28th launch in Europe. This push does not affect the Xbox One and PC versions of Titanfall. View attachment: titanfall-gamescom.jpg When asked, Electronic Arts' own vice president Patrick Söderlund gave defense for the push back, saying: "To give them the time they need to put the finishing touches on the current-gen version of the game, we are moving the Xbox 360 ship date to March 25 in North America and March 28 in Europe. The extra two weeks will ensure the full world of Xbox gamers has an awesome experience." With these steps, the game may not launch in as bad of a state as the previous EA title, Battlefield 4, but has this decision made you want to switch your pre-order to a next gen copy? 6. Much to player's disappointments, Titanfall on the PC can only use Xbox 360 Controllers. With the recent showing of the Limited Edition Titanfall Controller, which has received critical acclaim for it's design, players will be disappointed to learn that they cannot use that controller for their PC copy of Titanfall. This was no surprise earlier as Microsoft stated they would implement support for Xbox One controllers in 2014, but recently, an employee of Respawn surprisingly replied to the question of "Will you support the Xbox One controller on the PC?" With a yes. Shortly after, they deleted the message with a saddening "No," stating in an apology form: "We don't, sorry. I saw 'Xbox controller.' We support 360, not One on PC." Now just because Titanfall will not have Xbox One controller support on launch, does not mean it will not come in the future. Not only is a profitable move, but making it compatible as quite easy, as it's already been done by one Chris Gallizi, a hacker, who sorted out the driver situation. Has this changed your mind about getting Titanfall on the PC? Source: GameSpot.com Twitter.com

  9. TitanFall is inching closer and closer to release every day, and with each of these days it seems that there is always more news coming from Respawn Entertainment about what we should expect for their upcoming title. The most recent of this news was tweeted by Vince Zampella in response to a question a fan asked on Twitter yesterday: This doesn't seem to be a very big problem in my opinion, considering Halo slayer matches are 4v4 and I have plenty of fun in Halo. As Luke Karmali pointed out in an article on IGN, this player count does not include the AI fighters and points out that players can set their Titans to Guard mode or Follow mode. So while its not going to surpass the player count set by other games, it still has all the makings of a very fun, competetive FPS. SOURCE
