  1. Deus Ex: The Conspiracy Platform: PC, PS2 The Director's Rating: 9.8/10 This game you play as Agent JC Denton, who is a biologically enhanced "super soldier". Using Nanotechnology, his body is upgraded based on "skill points" used by the player. This can give you quite a few awesome skills to have. You can go stealth, run and gun, or even a thief type of player. It's a multilateral FPSRPG. What that means is that it's a story with quite a few different endings. You start out with the same cutscene, but the choices you make throughout the game affect the storyline of the game. This was one of the first games to successfully pull off "alternate endings" based off of the players playstyle and choices. Combat: This game is a Role-Play game, but also a first person shooter. The people you fight against vary from mission to mission (and depend on choices you make). You have a variety of weaponry that can be upgraded with things you buy or pick up from enemies corpses. There are stealthy options, or high damage and high rps options. There are even a few melee options including swords and knives. Missions: There is a lateral campaign on this game, so of course there are missions. What you do in your mission (kill a certain person, leave everyone alive, etc.) determines what happens later in the mission or on the next mission. The missions increase in difficulty per mission. Storyline: The story is very intricate. What you do will effect conversational options throughout the game. However, this game isn't like most "choose your own adventure" games. Most choose your own adventure games give you two or three different endings based on what you've done in the game. This one gives you quite a few different endings, and the last mission is set up so that you can get to every ending in the game without having to actually replay through the game each time. Synopsis: This game has been recognized as one of the best games of all time, but wasn't talked about all that much in the press. Most older gamers have at least heard of this game if not played it, but TONS of younger gamers only know the Deus Ex series by the newest one released. It's one of the best multilateral games I've personally ever played. Even better than Mass Effect and KotOR. The Director's Recommendation: I recommend that you try your best to get a copy of this game. It has a MASSIVE amount of replayability, and will keep you entertained for hours. The storyline is a little "played out" these days, but remember, this is one of the first. Even if you aren't a fan of the other games in the Deus Ex series, this game is one you should treat yourself to. If you have a recommendation for a game that I should review, then let me know in the comments (I follow all of my threads ;D). Remember though, if it's a hyped up game then I won't do it. "Lesser Known" is in the title after all. Hope you enjoy your time in the world of games. Wanna see the others? Check out the menu! http://www.343indust...own-games-menu/
  2. That's right, it's here at last! The map pack you've all been waiting for for so long! The Director's Cut map pack includes 5 maps. 4 of these five maps are set up to be played on all game types, and were created by The Director (me). The fifth map was created by nocturnparadox, and has it's own custom game type to be played on it. Here are the maps, available for download. 1. Shreya's Bridge: 2-16 players Click here to download! 2. Tenochtitlan: 2-16 players Click here to download! 3. Walkway: 2-16 players Click here to download! 4. The Playground: 2-16 players Click here to download! 5. Invasion High Tide (by nocturnparadox): Click here to download! Click here for the High Tide Invasion game type download! Now remember, you can edit 1-4 as much as you'd like, and if you come up with a better version go ahead and post a download link. However, the fifth one is not mine, so you will have to message nocturnparadox asking him if you can edit it or not. Remember, the main purpose of these maps is to give us something new to play during Community Playdates. If you would like to come up with a map pack of your own, please message a moderator. Not me. A mod. Anyways, sorry for the wait. Please enjoy yourselves on the new maps!

Needless to say, I'll be playing offline for a while lol
  4. So, there's this site some of you may have heard of. It's called "Freerice.com". For those of you who haven't heard of it, this site uses ad revenue that it gains from you playing a rather simple game to donate rice to those who need it. For every question you answer correctly, they donate 10 grains of rice. This adds up rather quickly, and is a nice way to do some good and pass the time, especially if you are bored. I myself have already donated 1900 grains of rice at the time of this post. It also allows you to brag to your facebook friends about how cool you are for giving food to those who don't have any. The game is rather simple as well. It gives you a word, and you pick one that either means the same thing, or nearly means the same thing. The difficulty increases as you answer questions correctly, but you can bring the difficulty back down if you feel the need to. You don't have to click the ads, you just have to play the game. For every question you get right, 10 grains of rice are donated. No surveys, no personal information gathering, no scams or tricks. 10 grains of rice doesn't sound like much, which is why I'm raising public awareness of it. If you and 10 friends answer one question, that's 100 grains. If 100 people answer 1 question, that's 1,000 grains. If 1 million people answer 10 questions, that's 100 million grains of rice. As you can see, it adds up fairly quickly. All you have to do to donate is go to freerice.com and answer the questions for a while. This site isn't blocked in most schools, and may not be blocked at your work. You don't even have to create a profile to donate. The profiles are so that you can keep track of what you've donated so far. In case you can't read it the picture of the website 1. This is where you keep track of what you've donated. 2. This is where you answer questions. 3. This is a little graphic representation of what you've donated so far. 4. This banner ad only appears when you've answered a question correctly. It's what pays for the rice. See? *the text below this states [sponsored banners displayed on correct answers pay for the rice donated]* 5. These are blogs, player activity trackers, and news stories that are related to hunger. Here is a thread started by Luke to keep track of the totals of forum members as well. http://www.343industries.org/forum/topic/10772-helping-with-world-hunger-totals-and-targets/
  5. As the title says, this one is pretty obvious. Minecraft is one of the most popular X-Box Live Arcade games ever made, as well as very popular on the PC. So it makes sense that more than a handful of us have Minecraft. Have you made something awesome that you would like to share with us? Well now you can! By way of pictures. For the PC version you can use a snapshot tool to take a picture and upload it to an image sharing site (e.g. Photobucket) and then use the image bbcode to post it here! For the X-Box version all you have to do is take a picture of your screen while you are looking at your creation to give us a little preview of it. You can post multiple pictures in one post if you'd like. After you get your image set up, just write a little description of what you made, which version it's for, and how you made it. Simple as that. Here's my first one: This is the outside of my skyscraper. I used the X-Box 360 version of Minecraft to create this. The inside of it isn't finished (and neither is the top floor if you look carefully) however it's come a long way. The only things left to do on it are the lighting (with glowstone) and the top floor (which will be obsidian). One of the features of this skyscraper is that every floor is made out of a different material, with a cobblestone exterior. The first floor (aka the lobby) is made completely out of cobblestone. The second floor is made of Iron Blocks. The third floor is Gold Blocks. The fourth floor is Diamond Blocks. The fifth floor is made of Bricks. The sixth floor is made of Lapis Lazuli Blocks. The seventh floor is made out of Clay Blocks. The eighth floor is made out of Wooden Planks. The ninth and tenth floors don't exist because clouds pass through them. The eleventh floor is made out of Stone Blocks (aka pure stone). And the twelfth floor is still in progress, but will be made of Obsidian and the walls will be made of a pattern of the previously mentioned materials. There is also a Lava lighting source that goes straight down the exact center of the building. Pretty cool right? Now it's your turn!
  6. Let me start by firstly saying that I'm honored to have become the June Member of the Month. As a matter of fact, I'm so honored that my brain has had an honor overload and is now in a state of severe "writer's block". I guess you could call it "Honor Lock". Bad jokes aside, I really am honored to have been chosen as Member of the Month. Thank you to those who picked me, especially Vitamin PWN who believed in me from Day 1. Or 2. Well, at the very least week 1. Anyways, special thanks to Vitamin PWN for being there as my "rage sponge", without him I would most certainly have been banned more than once by now. He get's a shoutout before the shoutouts! Now for probably the only part of this post you will read. The shoutouts. The are in no specific order, and are unranked. 1. Mr.DirectBiggles: A constant source of fun and amusement, Tim and I have had many an adventure in the Haloverse and the world of Minecraft. Many of those adventures either involved one of us carrying the other (me carrying him in Swat and him carrying me in Slayer) or us trolling each other or Gazzy. Poor, poor Gazzy. 2. One: Also a source of constant amusement, we don't play together nearly as much as maybe we should. While One is a "PC Snob", he's a fun member and a hilarious person. While we've had our times where we didn't see eye to eye (and made everyone else evacuate the shoutbox in the ensuing flame war), even that was a bit fun. Poor, poor shoutbox. 3. fzdw11 and SEKC TTBLSSH: The only two members to ever stump me in the Ask The Director thread. Also the two members with the hardest names to remember how to type. Congrats on your awards! 4. Choot 'em: A member I've known for a long time, and one of the most honored members of the forum. No shoutout list is complete without Mr. Hard Worker (aka Choot 'em). He was also the inspiration for the "Halo Did You Knows" thread that has been so popular. 5. Spectral Jester: Definitely one of the best members of this forum, Spectral Jester has been a moderator since as long as I can remember. Which isn't saying much because my memory is shot, but he's been a mod for longer than most members have been members. It's always a fun day when Spectral Jester talks in the shoutbox. 6. Bob: Bob isn't on much, but when he is he takes the time to get to know everyone as much as possible. Bob is well deserving of his Legendary Member status, having served so much time as a Mod that seeing his name not in gold or yellow would probably cause such a shock that peoples monitors would explode. Some of the best conversations I've had on this forum were with Bob. 7. Absolute Dog: Considered to be one of the best moderators ever to grace the forum, AD was also the only moderator to ban me. Twice. Although I deserved it (and would have banned myself, given the circumstances) AD was the only mod to actually do it. I think that's what earned him the "Tough Mod" award. xD I got my revenge in a few of the playdates, and consider AD to be a friend. 8. Father Bullet: A member who's hardly seen or heard these days, Father Bullet is one of the greats when it comes to members. While most of our communications are over XBL (playing minecraft no less), he's a friend to all. 9. Bobo Magroto: A member who I don't always understand, but never fails to make me laugh. I've acted as a translator between him and AD more than once, usually laughing so hard neither could understand me xD 10. theorix: One of the best Halo players of all time, theorix and I have had many an argument on the forums. Each of them were in fun, and sometimes turned into us tagteaming someone who did something they shouldn't have, but I consider him a friend because of how similar our sense of humors are. 11. Azaxx: This annoying Australian a**hat (Just kidding, couldn't resist the alliteration xD) is one of the reasons for me getting above 1000 posts and as many awards that I do. Our competition has gotten us both in trouble more than once, and is one of the reasons for me getting banned by AD more than once. xD But, it's gotten us both pretty high up the totem pole and has caused us to learn as well. So thank you for being inferior Azaxx. Otherwise I never would have gotten here. ;D lmao jk xD 12. GermanShepherdD: For being the best Halo Swat player on the forum and for being one of the most random people ever of all time. He comes on with his emoticon at very unpredictable times, and catching him when he's at his keyboard to ask how to get his award is like playing a mission on Reach LASO. xD Also one of the funnier members of the forum, I've never seen him get angry at someone. 13. Archangel Tyrael: A nice guy who is willing to help people who are in a bind. Playing Halo with him was one of the most fun times I have ever had on Reach. Even when we were pwnd at CTF by a bunch of J-Taggers (no really, went back and checked. 2 sniper spawns, 2 shotgun spawns, 1 rocket spawn, and one person with sniper and shotgun, one with sniper and rockets, and another with rockets and shotgun within 30 seconds of each new round, and all weapons with full ammo). We built some memories playing Anniversary. 14. Serene Mystic: When Mystic first came to the forum, she was all about Swat. Then she 1v1ed me in Swat and couldn't even come close to beating me. Even when someone else who wasn't good at Swat joined. Then we played a certain map and a certain gametype, and now she prefers slayer. I like to think I influenced that decision. xD Serene and I have had some great times arguing with each other about silly things, playing Halo, and discovering the easter eggs in the Anniversary maps. 15. EGYPTIANGHETTO: The member who makes some of the best signatures of all time, and the one who's made all of the signatures I've used while I've been here. Funny guy, haven't played Halo with him yet, but would like to in the future. Last but not least, Twam. The one who made it all possible with his Forum God powers. All hail the mighty Twam and may you bathe in the glory of his light. To anyone not mentioned, I'd still like to thank you. So, thank you. You being here is what keeps this awesome forum running as awesomely as it does. Give yourself a pat on the back. I am not sure where to put my customary MoM suggestion, so I'll just stick it here. My suggestion is that a link to the rules is put in the bar at the top of the page. Well, here's to the start of a journey. Let's make this month the best one ever.

    AAN2 Skyrim

    From the album: Random

This is the image that I used while I was assisting in writing the wikia (and also TES Wiki) for Skyrim. This was back when not many people KNEW there WAS a Skyrim wiki/wikia, so it was a bit of work.
  8. It's come to my attention that there are a couple of playlists that used to have far more players than they do now. Those playlists are Team Swat and Team Snipers. The main reason for this is because playing on the same maps over and over again gets old pretty quickly. The lack of maps in both playlists is annoying to say the least. Another reason is that the credit jackpots and challenges are geared toward the larger playlists (which is pretty ironic given that Swat is a pretty large playlist). The following is all in my own opinion. Updates that should happen for Swat: 1. New maps. There are quite a few maps in Team Slayer and BTB (ikr) that would be great for Swat. While adding new maps to Swat, it should be remembered that in Swat symmetry is a good thing. You can learn a lot from maps that players have forged as to what would be good in Swat and what wouldn't be (most maps designed with Swat in mind are perfectly symmetrical). It wouldn't even be hard to add Team Slayer or BTB maps to Swat. There is no need to edit them because if Slayer works, then so does Swat. Adding maps is the critical update that is needed. 2. A possible ZB option. Most Swat veterans are of the opinion that Swat would be even more amazing with Zero Bloom. It shouldn't be permanently switched to ZB, mind you, but the option to play Swat on ZB should be there. It would make Swat a little more difficult, but Swat isn't exactly considered an "easy" playlist like Slayer, BTB, or Objective. Another argument that supports this is that Swat is supposed to be based off of a players aim rather than how fast they can spam a trigger. 3. A Super Jackpot. As far as I know, Swat has never had a Super Jackpot before. Which seems rather unfair considering that nearly every other playlist has. Even Infection. A SJ would bring more players into the playlist, which would give veteran players new people to play with. It will also encourage other players to at least try it out a bit to see if they like it. Updates that should happen for Snipers: 1. New maps. DEFINITELY new maps. There are nearly a dozen maps that should be in Snipers that aren't due to either oversight or laziness. ALL BTB maps work with Team Snipers, ALL slayer maps work with Snipers, and all MLG maps work with Snipers. The only excuse for the lack of maps in Snipers is "We haven't gotten around to it yet." If more maps came into Snipers, the size of the playlist would probably double by the end of the week. 2. More Daily and Weekly Challenges. There are no daily or weekly challenges that I know of that are especially attuned to Snipers. There are some for Swat (magnum kills can happen in other playlists of course, but it's obvious that Swat Magnums is the quickest way to get the challenge) so why not for Snipers? 3. Raised Game Time. There are a lot of Snipers games that aren't completed due to lack of time in game, especially on larger maps like Hemorrhage. Another couple of minutes should see these games through to completion. 4. Super Jackpot. It will do the same thing for Swat as it will for Snipers. More people playing = more fun. 5. Either update or remove Hemorrhage. The spawns are Red heavy (means it gives red a little advantage over blue. Yeah, you know it does don't lie.) Spawns at half-map or in the bases (rather than around the base in plain view) will go a long way in making it more entertaining to play on Hemorrhage. That's all I can think of for now. If you have any more, feel free to post them.
  9. Well, 2k posts. That's a lot. Not as much as Biggles or Jester, but still quite a few. It's nice to finally have gotten here. Okay, now for what you have all been waiting for. Thank you's and shoutouts. Firstly, thanks to Biggles. One of my best friends on this forum. Has convinced me not to stay away too long a couple of times now, and without that I wouldn't be here today. Thank you to Spectral Jester, who has had my back since day 1. I don't really look at Jester as a moderator, but more like a wingman who helps everyone he can. Thanks to One, who has provided MANY hours of entertainment. Sometimes I just have to laugh at all of the things he says. Sometimes (like when he betrays me on Reach) I get a bit... miffed. Either way, it's all in good fun. Thanks to miniamp, who I don't get to talk to as much as I'd like, but is still a pretty funny guy and has gotten me to laugh more than a few times. Thanks to Absolute Dog, who without his constant "guidance" most of my posts would be crappy, rather than the excellent ones they are today. Thanks to Azaxx, for being a truce breaking competitor. Couldn't have done it without you. Well, actually I could have but it probably would have taken a few more hours than it did. Thanks to theorix, who has carried me on many games of Halo Reach. He's a good friend. Thanks to Serene Mystic and Ashlynn, who are really fun to talk to and I don't get to play with on XBL nearly as much as I'd like. Thanks to Father Bullet who has been my Minecraft buddy since I got the game. Thanks to Drizzy_Dan and ZB who have been sources of constant amusement as well. ZB always brightens my days with his greetings and DD brightens my days with his jokes. Thanks to Zaguroth and Archangel Tyrael for putting up with my constant jokes and barbs. I know it's hard, but it's all in good fun. Also thanks to AT for the news he brings us every day Thanks to Vitamin PWN for being a friend when I really needed one, and also being my rage sponge. A lot of you should also thank him because by talking to him I don't have to scream at you! And a very special thanks to Twam, without him, none of this would be possible. Almost got the chance to play Reach with him yesterday, but he was like, "Nah". I hope I get a chance to play with him soon though. Thanks to Rentless as well, for helping me out with a few of my larger buildings on Minecraft and putting up with Snipers for me in Reach. xD And thank you to all of the members who come here every day and contribute to the forum in their own ways. You guys rock! I look forward to doing another one of these when I hit 3k. And yes, I beat Azaxx to 2k. Close, but pulled it off. lol Well, enough of this sappy stuff. I'll see you guys around the forum
  10. The State of the Forum Address Good evening 343i.org. This is your president typing. I come before you today to address the state of the unio... forum. On the whole, I'd say we are doing great. We have tons of new members, a site format that is awesome, and a bunch of features that the other Halo forums could only dream of having. We have some of the finest members that we've had in a while, some of the nicest moderators in the history of forum mods, and have completely obliterated the spambots, with the exception of one or two here and there. The environment of the forum is one of fun, rather than one of frustration like previous Halo related forums. A lot of our members came here not realizing that this was a community forum, but stayed because of how friendly the people here are. I have to say, we are doing pretty good for ourselves. Before I go on to how we can improve ourselves this upcoming term, and my part in it, let's have a little review of the goings on in the history of the forum. At first, there was darkness. No, really, the site format used to be really dark. It was black and green, like the original X-Box. Then there was light. The newer format was a white one. Similar to that of the mobile site. With this new format, though, came war. War like we had never experienced before. This was known as the "Pre-Captcha War". Spectral Jester still has flashbacks of this terrible war. Seemingly endless waves of spambots and trolls attacked our forum. We as members could do little to help except call-outs as they appeared and tried to get us to buy phallic growth pills and pirated goods and infect us with spyware. This was a time of great stress on our moderating team, and important posts were quickly buried by bots spamming their illicit goods. Even the shoutbox wasn't safe, as trolls were ban-evading and harassing our members. We lost a lot of good people to this. The came the golden age of "Big Blue", which is the format we use now. With Big Blue came a captcha, which allowed the moderators a bit of respite against the spambots and allowed them to focus on new and creative bans for the trolls. This effectively ended the "Pre-Captcha War" and brought peace to the forum once again. We are now living in a Golden Age my fellow members. Together, we must make sure that we make this Golden Age last as long as possible. We must strive together as a community to make sure that we welcome new members and help them become great alongside us. We must be sure to learn and abide by the rules of the forum and to help others to learn and abide by them as well. No more double posting. No more team spamming. No more trolling. No more should we see the same post rehashed by others and posted again just to increase one's post count. This is what we must do to make sure that our forum becomes the best forum in the history of the internet. We must learn that people make mistakes, and forgive them of these mistakes. We must learn not to get angry at the slight things. We must learn that when a troll appears, the only way to defeat them is to point them out to the moderators and ignore their jabs and jibes. We must learn that it is not the quantity of posts that matter, but the quality. We must learn that if a forum member breaks the rules, then that forum member is threatening the very thing that makes this forum great. We must learn these things, and help others to learn these things. We cannot allow ourselves to be torn apart by petty things. We cannot allow ourselves to be taken in by oneupsmanship. Together we can accomplish these things. Together, we can stand united against the horrors of the internet and keep them from crawling their way into our forum. You should not ask, "What can my fellow members do for me?" Instead you should ask, "What can I do for my fellow members?" The following are definitions of the terms used in this post. Double Posting: Double posting is posting two times or more in a short time. The excuse for this is usually that a person had an additional thought they wanted to add. This can be accomplished without double posting by editing your previous post. The edit button is to the left of the quote button. Team Spamming: Team spamming is posting after another person, having them reply, then posting after them again over and over. It is not considered spamming, however, if it is a debate. This is usually done in the "For fun" threads, where there are no debates. Trolling: Trolling is when one person attempts to get a rise out of another person. This person will say or do anything to make people angry, mainly for attention. The ONLY way to defeat a troll is to ignore them and report them to a moderator so that they may be banned quickly and efficiently. Engaging a troll could result in a ban for yourself as well. Trolls are there to make you mad. When you get mad and try to make them mad, they laugh at you, resulting in you getting madder. Don't be a bad fish. Don't take the bait. Rehashed Post: A rehashed post is posting the same thing another person already posted, but in your own words. This is a relatively common occurrence in new threads, however past that initial chaos of people trying to get their points across, it's inexcusable. If you have nothing to contribute, do not post. If you agree with a post, instead of copy pasting that post and editing some of the words in it, quote them and list why you agree with them. Oneupsmanship: This is an age old practice. Two competitive people go out of their way to compete in everything that it's possible to compete in to prove their superiority to one another. What this USUALLY results in is an endless argument and a bunch of spam. If you are going to be competitive against another forum member, do so in a video game. Spambot: A Spambot is a person or program that spams links to try to get people to buy things. Moderator: A moderator is a member who is a part of the "Moderating Team". These members have the power to ban, mute, and change any part of a person's profile. The list of moderators can be found at the bottom of the community index, just above the list of members who have visited the site in the last 24 hours. It is to the right of "Today's Top 20 Posters". Format: Format, as used in this instance, is the general layout and color of a website.
  11. Alright, so the Minecraft Playdate has been officially sanctioned, and an award made for it. There are only two things left to do. Pick a date... and select world hosts. We need world hosts for PC and for X-Box. A good connection is preferred, but not required. Don't worry about people coming onto your worlds and screwing them up either, we will all be starting fresh on the same Seed. The Playdate will be on a Saturday. How soon that Saturday is depends on who is willing to help out with it. If you would like to be a world host on this Playdate, please copy paste this form and fill it in. Gamertag:(your XBL Gamertag, if you are on PC then leave this blank) Platform:(PC or X-Box) Connection Type:(Good, Bad, Or Wal-Mart?) Availability:(How available you will be. Half a Saturday, the whole day, the whole day and night, etc) Not everyone who applies will be accepted as hosts, and those who are accepted will be PM'd. PMing me does not increase your chances of being chosen. Alright, let's do this.
  12. So the questions are pretty self explanatory. I am deciding whether or not it will be worth the energy to put together a Minecraft X-Box 360 Community Playdate, so please answer the questions above honestly. This poll should be locked by the end of this month. So please vote as soon as you can. *Please Note* If you have it for PC, good for you. That is not at all relevant to this poll. Those trying to start or participating in a PC vs Console flame war may have their posts deleted and warning points increased. However, after this poll I will start another poll to further determine whether a cross console playdate will be viable. For this poll, though, please check "No" if you do not have or do not intend to purchase Minecraft for the X-Box 360.
  13. HLG, An Alternative Way of Winning As many of you know, but most of you don't, HLG is Hidden League Gaming. The goal of HLG is to score above their opponent and then hide for the rest of the game forcing their opponent to either quit or sit through the game clock. Members of HLG are known as "Map Breakers" because the most common way they hide is to use a glitch to get out of the map, or out of the normal line of sight. "We do not hide because we have to, we hide because we can. Welcome to an alternative way of winning." Origins of HLG HLG, similar to MLG (Major League Gaming), was made popular by the game Halo. It has since spread into other online Multiplayer games such as CoD, Battlefield, and even Team Fortress. HLG, while not being an actual organization (it's more similar to Anonymous, where anyone who has skill can be affiliated by simply saying they are) was started because of MLG's rise to fame. HLG was made popular by derankers and boosters (who, in some cases are actually better players than some people in MLG) in Halo 3. HLG vs MLG The reason for HLG's popularity was the same as the reason for MLG's popularity. Players would say something like "I'm MLG pro" and such, and would get stomped in the game. So, HLG PRO was dubbed. HLG PRO is actually an acronym rather than an abbreviation. In the case of MLG pro, pro means professional. In the case of HLG PRO, pro means "******** off Randoms". Unlike MLG, HLG was made as a joke, but turned into a rather large and competitive group. Players in HLG compete against each other on occasion to find the "best" hiding spots in a map. HLG's original purpose was to "troll" those who take gameplay seriously and claim that they are "in" MLG. Considering the majority opinion of those who back MLG on HLG is that they are "camping little girls", it seems to have worked. HLG "Skills" Many are of the opinion that HLG takes no skill. This, however, is not the case. To be effective in HLG, you have to be able to take and maintain the lead in a game while also find and get in a hiding spot. A competitive HLG game has more "moving parts" than a competitive MLG game. In an MLG game, you have to use teamwork to either capture an objective while defending your own, or to kill the enemy team more often then being killed yourself. In an HLG game, you have to be able to gain and maintain a lead score, while simultaneously hiding where the other HLG players will not be able to find you. Both types of gameplay take a coordinated team effort to win, and enough skill in the game to be able to maintain a lead. HLG Evolution Over the years, HLG has evolved from "I heard about this glitch from a friend, we should try it out", to a coordinated effort to reveal glitches in multiplayer maps. These days, HLG players find glitches and make "how to" videos on how to exploit them and post them on youtube. This is thanks mainly in part to ease of access for technology, and the competitive nature of players who have decided to be in HLG. Some of the older HLG players do not like this new trend, as it reveals their secrets for all to see, and either exploit or counter. However, this boosts the "skill" required to play the HLG way, and "separates the men from the boys" as it were. The uploading of HLG videos to youtube not only gives players a chance to counter HLG gameplay, but it also gives the companies running the games the chance to patch the flaws in their maps. This gives HLG a bit more "legitimacy" than it had when it was just rumors. HLG evolved alongside MLG, so it made sense when HLG clans started popping up. For more information on these clans, and how to join, visit http://hlghq.wordpress.com/hlg-clans/ Thanks for reading, hope you learned something. -The Director
  14. As president, I promise to be at least twice as great of a member as I am now. I know it will be difficult, because I am pretty amazing, but I will accomplish this feat. I will lead us into a new era of mutual respect and compromise. I will be nicer to everyone, help everyone who asks for it (and some that don't), and will always strive to be the best member you've ever known. In short, I'll do everything I'm doing now, but with a shiny title. I will consistently provide aid to those who require it whenever I can. I will tackle all forum related issues that need tackling, and cuddle the issues that need cuddling. I will save this forum from boredom and trolls, and will provide hope for a better future. My supporters know who they are supporting, and are willing to openly support me as I humbly ask you to elect me president. Some of my supporters may seem intimidating, but they all have a good heart. My opposition is vast, and they are all great members, but will they be a great President? So remember, when the time comes this June or July, there is only one candidate that loves Bacon, unity, mutual respect, cupcakes, and Halo so much that he would go out of his way to educate everyone he meets in every aspect of each subject. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-gxPacU7TY&feature=player_embedded Vote for The Director. He would vote for you. I am The Director, and I approve this message. This message has been paid for by The Director for President Coalition.
