  1. I'd like to say THANK YOU 343 GREAT FRIGGEN JOB!!! Ive read all the books played all the games more than 10-15 times each with that being said its safe to say I know the history of Halo like a movie you've watched way to many times. I crave the story line of Halo. Yes the multiplayer is great too but its always been the story that kept me around since day one. So ill admit I was really nervous when I herd Bungie was out the door and 343 was moving in (Franky gave me hope <3)... Almost scared. Now Im glad to say with allot of confidence that I am so happy to see that the Halo universe is in GREAT hands when it comes to the story and how its played out in Halo 4. At the start I was annoyed with what looked like a live action cinematic. It honestly took me around a minute to figure out that this was a beautifully created masterpiece. The amount of emotion in the faces of the characters and even in the master chief him self was mind blowing and inspiring. As the game continued on I was constantly surprised and just as I thought it would go one way it went the completely other direction leaving me guessing all through out the game. PERFECT! Around mid way through the story line I was so drawn in by the way things played out that I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. The last few missions seemed to drag on at times (the tower battles and gondola) but i'd say that would have to be dew to my tendency to not like repetition and also the fact I couldn't wait to see where I was going next. The ending was AMAZING!! Ive seen allot of people unhappy with the ending, shooting it down as "Horrible" I'd have to disagree! The way things went and the journey you took to arrive at the last battle and the last cut scene its self, all lined up and drew the player into the story and did a amazing job at portraying the emotions of the characters and the events. It's hard to believe Cortanas gone... It makes me wonder if in Halo 5 we will be thrown a curve ball by her returning or if we will be introduced to a new AI for the rest of the games. Once again I'm left GUESSING . Ether way I'm confident the ending was planned this way with the Future of Halo in mind and that the way it will play out will surprise us all. Fighting my way through on Heroic as Ive done for the first play through of each game I found little to no bugs with the games mechanics. IMPRESSIVE!I With the size of this game and detail I was expecting to see bug after bug. I maybe noticed 10-15 bugs through out the entire game. The most noticeable was on the level "Composer" when the Composer is taken the ship slowly pans to the left and disappears before its actually out of sight. Seeing as the ship its self seemed to be a low detail object almost 2D its honestly a very tiny but very noticeable technical error. There was a few small "blips" or "pops" I noticed at times in the objects and terrain, which is to be expected with a game this size. I have to say these "blips" and "pops" were very tiny, almost rare and at times I only noticed them because I'm retarded and look for that **** when I play games. There was one very noticeable audio bug on what I think is the level "Forerunner" but I could be wrong. The bug is at the point where you need to activate the Cartographer to find Infinity. After the first power source is disabled, in the main room some Covenant spawn that you need to fight through. After killing these Covenant Cortana says something like " Careful the covenant are here". She says this in my opinion waaaaayy to late, it almost humerus. I found my self talking to my Tv screen saying " No shiz really?? I didn't friggen notice!!" Honestly I'm kinda surprised this got missed by testing as the bug was easily repeatable and noticeable. Other than what Ive described above as of yet after my first play through Ive yet to have any other complaints. Once again GREAT JOB! Now the AI surprised and also at times disappointed me as well. They're ability to flank and surround a player is very challenging and really fun! They take cover and move between cover in strategic ways. But the second the AI jumps into a vehicle they become almost retarded.... Banshee's getting stuck in dumb places and ghosts standing still in the middle of a wide open area, asking to shot is really a disappointment. The Marines and ODSTs do the same thing as well. This impacts the story in a huge way in my opinion making things feel less structured. Other than the driving aspects of the AI once again Bungie.... Oops 343* (Sorry still getting used to this) GREAT JOB!!! So my final verdict of Halo 4 is: IT'S A FRICKEN AMAZING GAME!! Detail and graphics including Cut scenes and in game rendering: 9.8/10 - ( Would have gave it a 9.9 but the pops and the bugs I listed above lost you the 0.1 of a mark) Game mechanics and playability: 9.98/10 - ( I never hand out a 10/10 there is always room for improvement no matter how perfect something is.) AI including On foot, In vehicles, strategic ability, and the "fun" factor: 9.5/10 - ( The Vehicular ability of the AI is disappointing) Thanks for the great game 343 You have my trust now don't give me a reason to take that trust away! Keep up the great work and get Halo 5 moving!!! <3 you guys. ~XvX~
  2. ElGato Game Capture card review i just bought a ElGato capture card and a got a request to make a review about what i think about the ElGato i don't think there is to big difference between the new capture cards like Roxio HD PRO, HDPV v2 and the ElGato only the price, all of them record in 1080p. But the elgato got the playback feature so you if you forget to press record you have the opportunity to reverse the play about an hour i think similar to theatre in halo (but OFC the capture card must be connected and have the software on the computer on) but the only negative about the ElGato is you cannot record your own voice with an original xbox 360 headset but you can always record your voice on the computer i have an Turtle Beach X41 but i have no ability to use both the ElGato and the X41 because i have an old xbox and those don't have an optical cable input like the new "slim" i will try that one out when halo 4 lanches (i'll get the halo 4 xbox) but i think the ElGato is a great capture card but not the cheapest i will give you 2 videos with the ElGato both is in 1080P video Game cinematics captured with ElGato game capture card 1080P short gameplay optical cable input http://www.homestudi.../01/optical.jpg Turtle Beach X41 http://www.productwi...r_force_x41.jpg
  3. FROM GAMESPOT Czech developer Vatra Games' parent company Kuju Entertainment conducting "strategic review" of studio; no decisions have been made. Vatra Games' days may be numbered. Eurogamer Czech today reports that the Silent Hill: Downpour developer is now under "strategic review" by parent company Kuju Entertainment. "The new management team at Kuju have been conducting a strategic review of all aspects of the business," a Kuju representative told Eurogamer. "As part of this process, the ongoing business activities of the Vatra studio are currently under review. However, at this stage, no decisions have yet been made." Vatra Games' most recent title was Silent Hill: Downpour, which shipped in March to a generally favorable reception. Prior to that, the studio released Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network action side-scroller Rush'n Attack: Ex-Patriot. Eurogamer reports that Vatra was working on a God of War-style project, though the outlet claims this game has been canceled. Vatra Games, located in Brno, Czech Republic, was established in 2009 and currently boasts a staff of around 50. Up until last summer, it was led by former Take-Two Interactive and Microsoft Game Studios developer Matthew Seymour.
  4. Valves new game adds, new grenades, polish you would expect for valve and a few upgrades to one of the best games for the pc ever. From: http://www.computera...m/homepage.php? By: Mike Rose Valve's latest FPS does not redefine nor ruin the acclaimed series. This is it, then - the next chapter in one of the greatest first-person multiplayer shooter franchises the PC has to offer, now with added console support. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tries to emerge from the meteor-sized shadows of the original 2000 Counter-Strike and the 2004 Source follow-up. It aims to satisfy the (often vocal) CS community, while also pulling in as many casual players as possible. It's fair to say that developers Hidden Path and Valve have, to some extent, have succumbed to peer pressure in trying to fulfil these goals. This could have been an altogether new experience in the Counter-Strike collection. It is not. Global Offensive is the same step-up that Counter-Strike Source was from the original 1.6 version. This is not a fully fledged sequel with oodles of new content and dozens of never-seen-before elements. This is Counter-Strike: Source with new visuals and gameplay tweaks. Not that everyone will find this worthy of complaint. This is, after all, exactly what many CS enthusiasts wanted; the result of Valve expertly observing calls from its community and acting on them. The result, ultimately, should be more fittingly named Counter-Strike: Source Redux. It is mash-up of everything that CS has always stood for, but with additional elements that allow new players to enter the fray with less fear of being manhandled by veteran players. If you are such a potential new player, Counter-Strike in a nutshell is this: Two teams vie for control of an enclosed game space. The terrorists will seek to plant a bomb in designated areas, while the counter-terrorists seek to thwart such plans. This is all done with guns and grenades. If you're a big Call of Duty fan, it is likely that Counter-Strike will not sit well with you as much as you expect - at least at first. This is a famously merciless, harsh environment where you can be assassinated before you've even had time to fire off your weapon. Fire fights are usually over within seconds, and the old 'spray and pray' tactic simply does not work. Counter-Strike makes you work to enjoy the content, and you'll have to put many hours of play into it before enjoying the feeling of conquering it. Weapons are a huge part of the series too, with CS:GO not an exception. Each round provides a cash sum based on your previous performance, and with this you can purchase armour, projectiles and weapons. Firearms range from standard assault rifles to shotguns and sniper rifles, and you'll want to experiment with each one to see which works best. What makes Counter-Strike such a popular series - and what will no doubt make CS:GO the next big PC shooter - is the thrill of the ego chase. As you die, often continuously, the frustration is outweighed by an aspiration to do better. In a game where success is pinned on attention to detail, death often triggers an internal failure analysis that the player will mull over while waiting for a new session to load. It becomes a spiral of egging yourself on to do better - and if you become a good player, the game becomes a stage for you to parade your skills. Global Offensive builds on the CS series by going through a significant checklist presented by its community and marking off as many points as possible. Gun game as its own separate mode? Check. Competitive capabilities built in? Check. Map balancing here and there? Check, check, check. As a result, there are numerous upgrades that will adjust gameplay while also making accessibility far better. The wide range of grenades, for example, will likely make play more tactical - laying down incendiary grenades will thwart rushes, while decoys, which fake gunfire and fool radar points, are brilliant tools for messing with the minds of established players. The actual core shooting will be a huge talking point for many months to come. It has been tinkered slightly and gives weapons a noticeably floaty feel, which doesn't sit well to begin with. We eventually found ourselves enamoured by it, and the impact of hits add a real tactile distinction to play. It's what doesn't work, however, that is most notable. Regular mode has no new maps added to it, while all the new guns seem somewhat cosmetic. Global Offensive has also removed some of its middling weapons such as the MP5, essentially pushing even more players to stick with the AK and the M4. Sometimes it gives the impression that there is in fact less valuable content than in previous CS releases. If one assumed this was Counter-Strike Source with a visual mod installed, there would often be little to shake that impression. There's also now a split between casual and competitive servers - however, many players aren't yet aware of the differences, mainly because the distinction isn't made obvious enough. It becomes even more confusing if you join a community server with all hosts of mods installed on it, which have perhaps taken casual mode, turned friendly fire on and essentially made it as close to Source as possible. At times, arranging games in Competitive Mode feels like a chore. Joining a five-on-five war is simple enough, but attempt to lobby up with a group of friends and join a game, and you'll often hit a snag. Myself and a few others tried to find a competitive game with no luck, simply being told that no servers were currently available. When you finally do join, it works fine, but the wait and work required to find a game seems like a drawback. We eventually gave up and resorted to using IRC to find matches, as we would with Source. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is not the key evolution point that we were hoping for, and the response from the community often reflects this view. On many occasions, other players used phrases such as "same old" to us. This is elementally Counter-Strike Source with some fine-tuning under the bonnet, and Valve appears to have acknowledged this with the reasonable RRP attached to it. And yet the core DNA of the game has not lost its appeal. This is still a glorious experience that sets a benchmark for all multiplayer shooters. Valve's objective with Global Offensive was to draw together the active communities of both the Source and trusty 1.6 edition. It clearly has a good chance. The verdict SCORE 8.0 Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is a great introduction to the renowned shooter series, but veterans may feel there simply isn't enough new material here to justify the encore. CVG UK<p> UPPERS Layers of polish typical of a Valve game Nails the 'just one more go' multiplayer hook New range of grenades are a blast DOWNERS Don't expect too much more than Counter-Strike Source Deluxe Arranging matches in Competitive mode is a chore Er... where's my MP5
