  1. 343 Industries has announced in this weeks bulletin that they will be shutting down the servers for Halo 2 vista, they said the reason for this is because the population has only been 20 at it's peak. "To switch gears ever so slightly, we’re sad to report that the service end-date for Halo 2 PC Multiplayer will be February 15, 2013. We’ve been monitoring the population for months, and it’s been peaking consistently at approximately 20 players or less. Those that own this game can continue to enjoy Multiplayer over LAN after that date; however our network services will be turned off at that time. We love you, Halo 2 PC, and you will live forever in our hearts" So for those few who still play it try and get in as much games as you can before the lights are switched off and the doors are locked for good. Goodbye Halo 2 vista we love you.

  3. Technic/Tekkit Platform: PC The Director's Rating: 10/10 This is a Minecraft Mod Pack that is ridiculously fun. It's just like normal Minecraft, except with machines and magic! Well, kind of magic. More like "Alchemy" as defined by "Full-Metal Alchemist". It includes the Equivalent Exchange mod, the Balkin's Weapon mod, the Buildcraft mod, and the Blutricity mod. There are more ores as well, such as copper, tin, and silver. There's also a couple more trees, like the Rubber Tree. You can build wires to connect different machines (even including electric furnaces that don't require coal!) and pipes to pump things into and out of chests! There are dozens and dozens of new things to craft in Technic/Tekkit. The difference between the two is that Tekkit is a newer modpack that is multiplayer, while Technic is single player. Tekkit also includes a single player mode, so Tekkit is probably the one you want. Combat: With the Balkin's Weapon mod, PVP becomes ridiculously intense. Not only are there new weapons (muskets, cannons, battle-hammers, etc) but there are also new armors. The weapons and armor can be made to the point where they are very OP, but these are commonly banned on PVP and anti-grief servers. Building: With Tekkit, building is easier than ever, while at the same time challenging. You can make it to where you can instantly get an entire inventory full of whatever you want to build with, but to build what you need to do that takes a very long time. There are many different things and ways you can build in normal Minecraft, and Tekkit adds to that exponentially. EMC: EMC is basically the in-game currency for creating items with Equivalent Exchange. Some things are worth very little EMC, like Cobblestone, while others are worth a lot of EMC, like diamonds. EMC can be transferred into creating items. For instance, if you "condense" a certain amount of cobblestone (around 8k) then you can get a diamond, and a diamond can be exchanged for 8000 cobblestone. Synopsis: This game is a mod-pack that is so different from the original game that it counts as it's own game. It has been described as "how Minecraft SHOULD be played" and I agree in earnest. It is 10x more fun and engaging as normal Minecraft, and is relatively easy to download and play. The only downpart is that you need 64-bit Java installed, and you need a "premium" Minecraft account to play it. The game comes with it's own launcher, and you can select to play Technic, Tekkit, Vanilla Minecraft, Yogsbox, and one other that I forget. While this game is widely popular in the UK and in certain circles elsewhere, it is largely unknown by the gaming community (i.e. most people here have no idea what it is). The Director's Recommendation: This game is MASSIVELY worth it to get. You do need to have a Minecraft account (i.e. the full minecraft game) but other than that it's completely free. I recommend getting it. I don't often give out 10's, but I couldn't find anything to rationalize a deduction for this game. You can find the download link with a google search for "Tekkit" and you can find instructional videos on how to download it on youtube. Seriously, if you have a Minecraft account and are a bit tired of Minecraft, you need to try this mod. Lonely girlfriends guaranteed. If you have a recommendation for a game that I should review, then let me know in the comments (I follow all of my threads ;D). Remember though, if it's a hyped up game then I won't do it. "Lesser Known" is in the title after all. Hope you enjoy your time in the world of games. Wanna see the others? Check out the menu! http://www.343indust...own-games-menu/

  5. I have an idea and think it would be great. I Forge, a lot, and think it would be amazing to Forge from your pc and send it to your fileshare for download and testing. I mostly had this idea because where I work I have a lot of down time and ideas for new maps are constantly in my head. It would be great to actually design them there, or anywhere away from my Xbox, and test them latter when I got home. It would have to be a download that Halo 4 customers could get, weather it would be free or not is the only question. I don't know. Leave your comments and tell me what you all think.

  7. I don't expect many people to read this, since the H2 community is just about dead. But I'm hosting a Halo 2 Zombies match. It was very popular in Halo 2 (Xbox). The rules are fairly simple to follow, one person goes to green team, while the other's go to red. The objective is manily to surive. Green Team may only use swords and that's it. Add me if you'd like to play. GT: Ingrownsage X

  11. EA has revealed the release date for the Battlefield 3: Armored Kill update, and it's complicated. 12. Before I say what I'm after I'm in need of a new 360 the 360 I have is the first version released before the HDMI input and for PC well, my laptop barely works anymore makes me want to drop kick it every time I see it so I only browse on my iPad really. I have no idea where the pc will go if I get one. I have a decent budget. I really only want a high end pc because I'm impatient I hate waiting for things to load and I just want to play MechWarrior online that's it to be honest. The PC choice is this http://www.ukgamingcomputers.co.uk/eos-i5-gaming-pc-p-117.html oh for the Xbox ill be getting the Kinect and SBHA with it because I've always wanted to play it and to be honest I'm not bothered by bad reviews I've played loads of games with bad reviews and the game was the opposite of the review. So yeah help me decide please? Oh post reasons aswell I'll be ordering either one or the other on my birthday on the 15th August so this poll will continue until then

  14. Dear 343industries, in case you were planning to port Halo 3 to PC, let me give you advice to make it better. In my opinion, Halo 3 pc should: -include all DLCs and multiplayer maps -include Halo 3 ODST expansion disk -include a map editor (like Forge but with more features) -be graphically improved (HD textures, Antialiasing,...) -include online and LAN co-op

  18. I am just wondering if anybody still plays Myst for PC or still owns the game.
  19. I am just wondering if anybody still plays Doom on the PC or Xbox 360. I still play it on the Xbox 360 because I played it on the PC and it was a very Fantastic and Interesting game to play, also it has Excellent and Awesome Sound and Graphic.
  20. i am not sure if this is the place to post this. but i will adress it to the higher ups right now, as you may or may not have noticed, the PC audience sure isn't declining, but the fans of halo left on consoles has severly decreased due to the popularity of games like COD. I personally know many many PC gamers who would absolutely love both halo 4 to be on the PC, and for halo 3, ODST, or reach to be ported. i do not know your company's relationship to microsoft and why microsoft has decided not to have the other halo games on PC, despite that they own the only OS which games are developed for, but it is a fact that many people would love to have halo be a crossplatform release, and not a shoddy one either, it should be optimized for both PC and xbox. i would also suggest microsoft to abandon a possible games for windows live release, because despite a certain percent of the profit going to steam, the sales will be tenfold to retail, as many steam users are wary of switching to different services (origin is an example here). another note: halo: CE on the PC, has thousands of mods, and is still active to this day, even more active than something like CS 1.6. some mods even make it look close to as good as halo reach. this is a perfect example of how a PC release would make the custom content development boom, and PC gamers do prefere open source, even providing a simple system to upload custom maps from a mapmaker toolset (both forge and a devtool set, like valve's source SDK), and even custom made skins, weapons, etc. dedicated servers also also a must on any multiplayer PC release, i hope someone can see my suggestions and at least take it to mind, any supporters can discuss it too. :sorcerer:
  21. Do you think 343 should put the Halo franchise back onto PC as well as Xbox? and if so should they allow cross platform multiplayer? I think that it should be on pc with cross platform support but pc players do not get the aim assist and there can be controller only settings for parties that force pc players to use a controller if they join the party.
