  1. Halo 4 was some pluses and so negatives. Pros- -campaign was pretty good for the most part -graphics -spartan: ops, its like a new campaign every week -regicide -flood skin is great -forge is easier for a newbie Cons- -griffball - huge disappointment there. I expected many gametypes similar to reach. I expected many variations in maps but all i got were a bunch of squares with several minor changes. Even halo 3 had a map variation better than that -ordinance it promotes camping and gets rid of skill. In other halos you had to know the map if you wanted to win. You needed to know where power weapons would be found unlike now it just shows you where they are. -load outs unfair and unbalanced if u play longer you get better weapons. Everybody should start a match with the same guns. -skins should have a seperate section so i can put any skin on any armor. -mantis is over powered -no race -no multi team -no invasion -no assault -no percision forging -magnets dont always work right and can leave holes in maps -not enough small maps -not balanced starting points in maps *SPOILER ALERT* - master chief shows his eyes in the legendary ending. If any more of master chief is shown without armor it will be my last halo. Unfortunatly there are more negatives than positives. some could get fixed others will not atleast until the next halo. This is just my opinion and you may feel free to voice yours.
  2. Hello 343i community, I came up with an idea yesterday in my head and wanted to see the community's opinion on it. I think that there should be a Leader-boards to promote friendly competition among this website. I have noticed the small lack of competitiveness among this website's members. I think it would add a different option for being known on the site rather than having quality posts. How it would work: The leader-board would be hooked up with Halo Waypoint or Halo Tracker to show individuals' stats. There would be different categories for things such as K/D, Wins, AVG Score, Skill Rank, and gametypes. I think that many members would be able to show off their Halo skills with this. This is just my opinion, please tell me what you think about this idea.
  3. I've been playing AC III multiplayer and at the end of each match, the top 3 accolades are shown on screen along with an animation for the best one. For example, if you had the most kills, you character is shown stabbing, punching and killing 3 enemies like a boss! What if a similar system was brought in Halo 5? Like "Most multi kills", showing your Spartan/Elite killing some enemies in a flash or "The Assassin", your player performs an assassination. It would be great to have this in the game. Rate, comment and sub- wait, just post your thoughts
  4. With the 2v2 playlist penciled in for early February, this is a good time for the community to discuss what would work best. Source of news: http://mltiplyr.com/...ate-january-28/ Also releasing in February is the Majestic Map Pack which is confirmed to feature two smaller maps. This should help buff 2v2's worth in matchmaking. - - - As we know, 2v2's are a staple within competitive Halo play. Being a competitive player myself, I also understand the balance of simplicity and complexity necessary to allow such maps to work within a 2v2 environment. In this thread we will discuss why a map could or could not work for 2v2's. Please list pro's and con's for each map presented and we will collectively add them to the OP in hopes of achieving a near perfect experience in Halo 4's future 2v2 playlist. If there is a community map presented, please share the corresponding gamertag and as much info/media as you can. A link to a post with media would be best. Below are a few to get started, please share your input and we'll amend the list in a unified manner based on community feedback. I will list various maps below and a consensus category next to each, showing how we collectively feel about each one. The range will be Positive | Neutral | Negative. - - - Maps for Double Team Map: Lockout Consensus: Positive File: http://www.343indust...perfect-remake/ Pros: Lockout is a staple within Halo's 2v2 lore. If features the perfect balance between mix up and execution, meaning players are able to outsmart, outmaneuver and out shoot the opponent equally. Halo 4's Lockout in a 2v2 playlist would have to be 1:1 scale. While the game is marginally faster than it's predecessors, the size is perfectly fitting in a 2v2 environment and all of the jumps, line of sight, etc. would need to be retained. Cons: _____ Map: Haven Consensus: Positive File: Standard Halo 4 Map Pros: Symmetrical, balanced competitive map. Tried and true. Cons: _____ Map: Relay Consensus: Neutral File: Standard Halo 4 Forge Map Pros: Symmetrical, balanced competitive map. Cons: Slightly large, corridor based. Open space. _____ Map: Simplex Consensus: Positive File: Halo 4 Community Forge Playlist Pros: Symmetrical, balanced competitive map. MLG ready. Cons: _____ Map: Adrift Consensus: Neutral File: Halo 4 Standard Map Pros: Tried and true. Cons: Fairly large. _____ Map: Abandon Consensus: Neutral File: Halo 4 Standard Map Pros: Size is appropriate for 2v2. Cons: Potential spawn imbalance.
  5. I thought that since most people just hate on the Boltshot (which is totally understandable), I thought, why not just do a topic making fun of it (or having fun with it). I mean, not every game has a secondary weapon that's an accuracy back-up and a shotgun as well. I mean, not that there's something wrong with that *cough cough*.
  6. As Stan Smith on American Dad once said "Omg Francine these chocodiles, these chocodiles oh my god oh my god" is all i can say lol This playlist is extremely fun and i want to thank 343 for putting up there, and i hope it stays for a good amount of time.. I mean really the new crimson maps got boring on its release date but these maps are very creative and just a blast to play on. Just two complaints the map Garotte i believe the spawns arent random just in same area and my team got stuck in original spawn all game with the opponents basically spawn trapping we pushed and got out couple times but always ended up same spot lost 600 to 420 Also swat very difficult on certain maps too fast respawns. Anyways whats your favorite map?
  7. Alright, so I have some great ideas for Halo 5, here ya go ------[ Forge ]------ [] Customizable land and sky color -Now I thought this would be cool, so lets say your on a grassy map. You can go into "Customize" in the menu and choose land color, vegetation color, sky color, and water color. [] Wield tool -This is probably the best, you can wield objects to vehicles and save that vehicle. [] Vehicle settings -In vehicle settings you can change the color, speed, and weight. [] Security cameras -And can link with monitors. You can make it so players have to manually sync it on the map or it is automatically. [] World Size -You have a HUGE map to build on, but by entering each one you have so select and arena to load. -By clicking "World size" in a menu, it shows a top down view of the map with a square over the area you can build in and you can drag that square any where you want, and it will load that section. [] Trees and plants! -I've always wanted to place vegetation in my maps [] Particle effects -You can place fog, smoke, fire, and blood. -But you have a limited amount [] Openable doors Last but not least... ---[ ADVENTURE ]--- In Halo 5, there should be a new game type called "Adventure" were you set the goal of the map so it could be like "Cross the finnish line" or "Escape from building" or kill all the covenant. In adventure you can place NPC's like grunts, elites, jackals, BRUTES, Hunters, and skirmishers. Also you can place objectives and missions by talking with marines around the map. **You can also make cut scenes with theater mode, and place in a timeline of events! Hope you liked my ideas, hope you consider them.
  8. Hi there guys oTG BLKGreenLTN here, This is my first time posting but its about the new fishstick control settings and whether or not it will be in the future Halo games...okay i know it brings alot of COD fans like me but since COD is getting boring i thought maybe ill try this new halo. Ive tried the default settings and i cant do it but as soon as i heard that its going to be like anyother FPS settings. So since its here you think its here to stay? Thanks Guys GreenLTN OUT!!
  9. Please bring back snipers!! Snipers > FFA Throwback
  10. We're a small clan that started out in Halo 3 and I'm the only member left. By joining this clan your doing two things though: 1) Joining a group of people who love Halo as much as you do. 2) And your getting a clan full of people (Hopefully) who will play online with you whenever as long as you ask, and will respect their fellow players. If you want to join you just have to meet a few requirements: 1) You must have a working mic. 2) You must be a team player, this means following directions well. 3) You DON'T have to change your Gamertag. 4) And we don't need another sniper so if you Snipe and you want to join becasue of that well sorry, I'm the clans Sniper and I don't like to share my Sniper rifle. 5) You won't mind being on YouTube. So if your interested in joining up leave a comment with you Gamertag and I'll add you, and invite you to a game which will serve a introduction meeting.
  11. Hello, i'm looking for more people to add to my friends list. I like playing all the different matchmaking game types and im looking to get more into Custom Games (so hopefully some people are looking for more for their groups). Im a casual gamer, i talk but i dont run my mouth, but i do enjoy some real competitive gameplay if it comes down to it, and i work 50 hours a week so i mainly play weekends and sometimes after work (around 6-9 PST) Add me if you'd like to play together GT: Reptiholic
  12. Since this seems like an official site of 343i (apart from waypoint), I thought I would just ask, I know it's the lead up to christmas and all, but what is the news on how the playlists are being affected and when the full playlists will be implemented? I've heard that they will be up in time, but has any sort of a timescale been set to do this? I don't think it's just me who wants to know this, i'm sure other community members are keen to find out when that little bit of something extra in matchmaking is going to be added, making this already awesome game, perfect (popular classic gametypes, map rotation etc.). I also think that there has been a lot of input from the community about this sort of stuff and yeah, it's a great game and I realise it hasn't been out for long, but I can't help but wonder if 343i will take up the role that bungie left with as much enthusiasm towards the concerns of the community as bungie originally did. Anyone hear what i'm saying?
  13. This article was created to try and get our voices heard. If you agree with the article below, please copy and paste it to any website/forum where it can be read by halo fans. The point is to have this article on the internet so much that 343i has to notice it. Halo 4 as it is now Halo 4 has set new boundaries for future Halo games. They have provided us with unique forge features that make forging much more easier then ever before. On top of this they have provided us with two solid campaigns. The master chief's story is both epic, thrilling, and even a little saddening. The new Spartan-Ops mode has replaced firefight over all and set a new playground for co-op fun. Finally, of course, there is the ever beloved matchmaking. Infinity slayer, swat, and griff-ball are returning favorites. However, even with all of these new features, there are still many flaws that need to be considered by 343i before the game is perfect. These are small tweaks that should have been considered before-hand, but, should be considered now before it is too late. Spartan-Ops While the new spartan-ops has met my expectations, providing us with a rich story that flows in perfectly with the main campaign, and giving co-op players a new field for mayhem, it has some flaws of it's own that should be considered perhaps next season or even next game. For starters, while the cut-scene episode that you witness every week is original and brilliant, the actual in game gameplay has no link at all. If you set a person up for Episode 1, Level one and then put them in Episode 3, level 3, they might not even know that you skipped any levels at all. While the game explains why you are there, no connection exists between that level and the others. On top of this, there is nothing unique to these missions. Not once do you ever get sent out to save scientists in one level and in the next level have to do something unique such as passanger warthog filled with scientists as fast as you can towards your evac point, with covenant on your hide the whole time. It is always the same thing. Go in, kill covenant and promethiens, and get out. No epic mammoth driving, no pelican driving, no escape scenes. Just killing enemies. They have even recently decided to just take multiplayer maps and turn them into spartan-ops missions! No, they did not do anything cool like add more to the level, they just took the level itself and added enemies. Matchmaking I absolutely *love* the new matchmaking. It has such great potential. However, this potential was not put to it's full test. Do not get me wrong, i still love it. The ability to have custom loadouts, weapon skins, packages/upgrades and specializations is amazing. However, they have not used this all to it's capability. Let us start from the bottom up. The ability to choose your own loadouts is great, fantastic in fact. This idea alone has no flaw. What does flaw is the options they give you. Out of over 30 weapons in the game, 7 primary weapons and 3 secondary weapons are at your disposal. The other 20 are RARELY used. I have used only about 5-10 of the other weapons because that is all you usually come across. The game should have either had 15 loadout weapons and 15 power weapons, or even gone as far as 20 loadout weapons and 10 power weapons. The fact is, we just do not need that many power weapons. Hell, some of them are just pointless, such as the concussion rifle in this game, in all of it's under-beefed glory. Having so many power weapons gives the game a glossy appearance that it is full of bad ass explosions and fights. Yet, as we all know, this is not the case. Providing players with more loadout weapons means there is more incentive to level up, more action going on throughout the ENTIRE match, and more unique and individual load out systems. If they consider this in future games, it would truly put potential to the test. Yet, even with all this, there is more. Let us talk about something they have the ability to change at any time. Tactical/Support packages. This feature is great and unique to the Halo Franchise. Yet, is there any big benefit to them? Let us all admit, the idea for these came from popular games like COD and BF3. However, it works well in Halo. Yet, in games like COD, the perks are completely game changing. In Halo 4 however, you hardly notice the difference at times. You can sprint infinitely, recharge your shields slightly faster, recharge your AA faster, but it is not that noticable. Even with this not being noticable, it would work well if there were more options. If they refuse to have perks such as increased melee distance, more damage with secondary weapons, having enemy vehicles outlined, or no turret over-heat, they could have still added perks such as faster melee, more damage to vehicles, or less damage from certain genres of weapons. All of these are easy to add to the game through a patch, and game changing. Now, hold on, i am still not done with Matchmaking. There is still the issue of weapon skins and specializations. When i heard of weapon skins and specializations, i got excited. Finally, a game changing benefit that is visible and easy to notice. Yet... i was later disappointed. While specializations ARE game changing and provide us with unique unlocks, it is way to difficult to achieve them. Specializations should have been unlocked at a much lower level (20-30) so that most players could have access to it. Instead, they placed it at level 50. This would be fine except once you get to level 25 and above leveling up becomes a complete chore. If more players had access to specialzations, the gameplay would change for the better. People would be aiding their team more by knowing they can do better and get more points by being a team player and filling their role in their specialization. Instead, there is a distinct line between people who barely can get on to play, and those who have all day. On top of this all, there is weapon skins. Such a unique feature, but there is just not enough of them in the game. One per weapon is not unique at all and ruins the idea of it all together. Just add more to be unlocked in the game or through map packs and players will be pleased. I will post about forge later on.
  14. So, my dear community, pardon my spelling errors, back keyboard. Who else like how every game from now on is C.O.D. Loadouts that we can set, instant spawn timers (which have really screwed the Extermination medal), and such a poor variety of maps that I can't pick which one sounds remotely fun. I miss the old Halo3 multiplayer, the given loadouts, set weapon spawns, and equipment (which with a one time use was more effective than most if not all armor loadout possibities. Don't get me wrong I am not just complaining and I am far from a Bungie fanboy (I hated halo reach with a passion after playing a few other games before hopping back in). I just miss halo being halo. I wonder does anyone else or am I talking to the deaf here?
  15. ok, so first off i'd just like to say that i love the game and its a big upgrade from reach. now that, that's out of the way i want to focus on some stuff 343 isnt getting apparently. Now dont get me wrong i know there new to this but it just seems to me they are ignoring alot of their community. anyway my point is with the new map coming out i was expecting some new smaller maps instead i seem to be seeing more outdoor large maps. this really sucks because in order for me to play some team double i have to go back to reach and i find myself enjoying reach more at times. just the small symmetrical maps makes it feel like halo. in short i just want team doubles and with some smaller maps and ill be happy. what do you all think?
  16. Larger maps have their place, don't get me wrong, but many of my fondest memories of the halo multiplayer experience occurred in maps that are 5 or 6 times smaller than some of the halo 4 maps. As halo has evolved so too has the size of the playable space in multiplayer increased. I understand that some of this is an intentional shift away from the more intimate 2v2 split screen experience to the more inclusive 8v8 online experience, and that this shift requires a larger playground - and as I said I'm certainly not knocking big maps. I love vehicular combat as much as the next guy. But I would love a map as small as Longest, or Prisoner or Chill Out and sadly these are seemingly going extinct. I made an account just to write this post, because it's important to me. So if it's important to you, leave a comment and let 343 hear you. Bring back those tight spaces we all loved so much.
  17. Please turn off the music in the matchmaking lobby! It is like being water-boarded... over and over and over again the same 12 second sound track being drilled into the brain. It's so aggravating I want to tear my headphones off between matches, but then I can't enjoy conversation w/ my friends.
  18. Hello community, I generally do not post on game forums unless there is something that seems to be giving me problems (duh). I want to start by saying that I am exceptionally satisfied with Halo 4. I think 343 did an excellent job in creating an opener for the new Halo Trilogy. Now, please read the following with an open mind, I would prefer people to not rage on this topic / take what you see and completely disagree with the avid-Halo fan attitude (we do not want to create issues that we saw in Halo Reach in the opening months). First, the campaign was brilliant. The story was engaging and I felt like I was in a movie. This is a good thing, and I think more games need to follow suite. Second, the multiplayer is exceptionally good. I am a SR - 42 and I will tell you at times you want to throw the game out the window. The playlists add a degree of competitiveness and innovative (or combined) styles of play, i.e. dominion. Dominion is by far one of the best playlists out. It is so freaking good. Now, (please read carefully and do not jump to conclusions), I have been playing competitive first person shooters since Halo CE. I absolutely love Counterstrike and I loooove Halo 3. The problem I am seeing with Halo 4, that can be fixed, is lag compensation and the style of matchmaking. Lag compensation is evident in the matchmaking system and glaringly obvious when you are DMRing people. I actually did not notice for awhile until today. Maybe it is because Counterstrike GO and Source were similar in the respect that the game would cater to bad connection players. This is fine because Valve made an option available to the players to TURN DOWN the lag compensation if the player had a good connection or TURN IT UP if the player had a bad connection. This NEEDS TO BE ADDED INTO HALO 4! You cannot have a competitive multiplayer game and expect it to survive when good connection players are being punished without an option to damper the lag compensation. At the very least they can add an option in the menu to turn it up or down with settings like: low, medium, or high and give the players the option to select one. The game can even tell you what would be prefered under your connection type and would not break the game but make it awesome! Now any other opinions or suggestions would be great to give to 343 . Matchmaking, is whole other story. (I am not crying about matchmaking and trying to flame, etc. just want to give my opinion.) I think in the next few weeks or even a month from now, Halo 4 should have separate matchmaking playlists for ranked and unranked. What made Halo 3 so successful was the fact I could choose when to play competitively or choose to play not competitively. Much like Counterstrike (which is arguably the most competitive shooter), there were unranked playlists and ranked playlists in GO (Global Offensive). I am not trying to say "MAKE THE GAME LIKE COUNTERSTIKE OR BLACK OPS OR I QUIT" but I would like to have the ability to select if I want to try or not. Personally, video games are for fun. I do not want to play Final Boss and company (lol) every single game. Side note, please fix the connection issues for coop and spartan ops please 343 (Not detrimental but would be nice). Now, Halo 4 community, let us try to come up with logical and DOABLE fixes for the game. Taking out lag compensation would mean recreating the game, so that is not an option but to add something like an option to select your degree of lag compensation would BE EXCELLENT AND IT WORKS! The playlist issues we might see change soon, as ranked playlists will be out, but I would like to KNOW that I am doing unranked or ranked and be able to adjust my play accordingly. Please listen and take this opinion, as an opinion and a suggestion. Thank you, Unseenz EDIT: I want to add that I am only trying to give a suggestion that could save 343 money rather than completely reworking the servers (making them dedicated, etc.) This way it saves them money and helps us as gamers! EDIT EDIT: This is a new game, so let us not talk about imbalance of weapons, gear, etc. The game is near perfect, just needs a few tweaks.
  19. I couldn't find too many topics on team regicide (I didn't try too hard and I'm a new user) so i decided to create one. Post what your thoughts are of this new variant, good or bad. It wouldn't be much of a forum without my thoughts so here they are: My overall impression is that I really like it. I don't have too many XBL friends that play halo so most of the time I'm on playing by myself or teaming up with past performers, so team regicide is a variant I switch back and forth on. It isn't a very team based playlist, it can be played with a team and is just like any other playlist (besides FFA) that team play helps out a lot. But since I do not have a specific "team" to play with I enjoy jumping in and playing team regicide solo when I am sick of infinity slayer, slayer pro, SWAT, and the objective type variants. Team regicide gets pretty intense and there isn't too much sitting back and DMR'ing from distance. Team regicide on haven especially gets very intense, and I for one would like to see this playlist stay. Call me a noob or whatever, I think they should keep this playlist (unlike team snipers) and I would love to see more playlists arise like team doubles, MLG, etc..
  20. Hey so I live in Denver Colorado and today is December 3rd, 2012 and it's currently 11:11 am. I still haven't received the early access to specializations by email even though I have played online everyday from launch through the November 20th deadline. Just wondering if anyone else still doesn't have their codes, and this is pretty ****ty because I'm stuck at level 70 without anywhere to go. Just looking for some feedback as to when/how I can obtain my early access code and continue gaining XP on Infinity War Games once again. Thanks, V
  21. I'm SR53 stuck at 6249/18240XP after every game I play I don't receive any XP from matchmaking/spartan ops. Anyone else having this problem? It's extremely annoying and is discouraging me to play Halo 4.
  22. Computer systems used by retailers are now capable of figuring out somebody is pregnant before they know themselves, based on their purchase history. All the big internet companies make their money by data mining. And yet, matchmaking seems like an impossible task to get right. I've been playing online games since before consoles had modems (it's like wifi, but for your telephone). I've played some great games, and I've had some greater games. I've also had far more bad games. The greatest games are the ones where victory, or defeat, was not certain until the game actually finished. Bad games are the ones where the game is decided before it even starts. People quit, and with few exceptions 5-on-4 just isn't a fair game. People have no concept of even basic teamwork. Communication? Forget about it. Thing is, as often as this has made me lose a game, it's one me a game, too. But really, where's the challenge in that? I can't believe that ater all the games played, there isn't some way to match up players that doesn't result in a low probability of a challenge. There's all kinds of great detection for cheating. Why can't there be something that matches up players not just of comparable ability, but cooperation? I remember well that shortly before Halo: Reach came out, a bunch of us got online for a few last games of Halo 3 Multiplayer. We hadn't played in a long time. We were rusty, forgot parts of the map, couldn't remember where the spawn poins were... but it was fun. We had some great victories, since a bit of coordination will beat great aim any day. And even when we lost, it was because we were beaten by superior players, not because it was an unfair match. Is there no way to match up players that doesn't toss you into a game almost randomly? "Play with a team" is a fair enough response. If that's the way forward, then why isn't there in-game support for it? Ten years ago, Halo introduced a whole new kind of multiplayer to the gaming world. Halo has a legacy of innovation. 343, if any of you read this, think about it. The single most important aspect of any multiplayer game is providing a fair challenege. Do this right, and Halo will be one of the best franchizes for another ten years.
  23. Hey, i've been playing halo since the beginning, even when i was 7 i would play with my neighbor and it's always been my favorite. I've attempted to stat a Halo 4 clan for a few day but just can't get one going. If anyone is looking to recruit my GT is EnV Da MoNsTeR. Im not looking for a huge clan with 1000+ MEMBERS!, no i want a small clan of skilled players like around 10-20 who want to tare s**t up. Message me on xbox if you either want to hlep me start a clan or want me to join one, and please, not 12 year olds with squeaky voices haha. BTW if it helps i'm currently lv 66
  24. Hello. I don't understand how such a big game like Halo 4 DOESN'T HAVE DEDICATED SERVERS. Halo has one of the, if not THE biggest player base on Xbox 360. Lag compensation in H4 is ridiculous, it made people with horrible connections being able to play and people that are paying a lot of money for a decent connection not being able to. And don't come saying your netcode is good, because it isn't. Just get the dedicated servers, what do you do with our money? BF3 wasn't as big as Halo 4 and they got dedicated servers. Dear 343, We will not stop. We will not pause. We want dedicated servers.
  25. Hi I have just completed my 25th challenge I'm a little behind I know but I look on my service record and it sais 25challenges completed but my achievement hasn't unlocked can I have some help here ?
