  1. Do you have a loving wife, husband, boyfriend, girlfriend, or significant other you're spending this Valentine's with? If not, come sit with me and bask in our loneliness and social awkwardness. We can play Jenga, or... Cards Against Humanity... We can read? How about that? Let's read the new Weekly News Wrap-Up edition! View attachment: WNW B MY VALENTINE.png Ubisoft Games Sales Figures Revealed! (GameSpot.com) View attachment: acu.jpg Ubisoft's Holiday Sales figures play an important part in both the future of the company and it's games. This holiday, by the end of December, the total sales for Assassin's Creed Unity and Rogue were at 10 million sold units. In comparison, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag garnered the same numbers within the same amount of time, while Rogue and Unity needed to be combined to reach their predecessor. Far Cry 4 reached about 7 million units, and Watch_Dogs was around 10 million. To compare, the prequel Far Cry 3 is at about 9 million units now, and it released nearly 3 years ago. Just Dance's installment this year launched to around 4 million units and Ubisoft's racing title The Crew was only a measly two million. 2015 will hold a set of sales for games like Assassin's Creed Victory, Tom Clancy's The Division, and Rainbow Six: Siege. Mass Effect 4 Multiplayer Confirmed! (GameInformer.com) View attachment: MEMultiplayer.png In the spirit of Valentine's Day and love, I'm talking about a game series that is universally loved, Mass Effect. Mass Effect 3 was the last installment and also introduced a new mode with mixed reception, a multiplayer mode. It has been confirmed that the mode will appear in the next game releasing in the next few years, as details were shared by Bioware for open job positions. They tweeted an opening for a producer for the game, and looking further confirms that one goal of this producer is to create multiplayer experiences. This is among other responsibilities, but this does confirm suspicion that they will be taking hints from Dragon Age: Inqusition, one of Bioware's most successful titles, and including multiplayer. Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth DLC Announced! (IGN.com) View attachment: BoI Rebirth Logo.png Last year, the Binding of Isaac, a psychotic journey following the horrors of an abused boy's basement as religious figures fight him, got a reboot for PS4 and PC, called Rebirth, with the confirmation that more content was on the way. It will be released in the middle of 2015 and will include a wealth of new content. It will include a wealth of new bosses, a new main protagonist, and a new alternate chapter finale. If you're a fan of collectibles and challenges, the new DLC will include 100 new items and 10 new challenges. It has been confirmed that this will extend gameplay time up to 200 hours more than vanilla gameplay. Afterbirth will include a new mode and will come with an update for hard mode, but other details were not revealed. In Other News: Battlefield Hardline Beta Reaches 9 Million Players! (343i.org) View attachment: battlefield-hardline.jpg My fellow news compatriot, Unease P34nut, did some awesome news recently about the Battlefield Hardline beta! For those of you unaware, the game had a public beta that released last week which allowed early access to the Cops and Robbers gameplay of Hardline. The beta apparently reached over 9 million players, which is more than many betas reach, including the Halo 5: Guardians beta which only reached about 1 million in comparison. For more on this, click the link above, and let him know I sent you there! Love you P34nut! Staff Highlights: Total War Rome II Staff Let's Play! (343i.org) View attachment: Staff.jpg I must admit, as much of a fan as I am of Civilization V, I don't know much about the RTS industry, especially not Total War Rome II. However, you may get a kick out of the fact that our Events Manager Sikslik and our Site Mod RSR are doing a humourous Let's Play of Rome II. They have a thread going on that will give you more details! ur all mah bae <3 View full article

  3. Greetings ladies and gents, look I know I keep missing weeks, but now that my TACHS exams are over, I'm free, and I swear you'll get these every week. I do apologize for the inconvenience anyway though. Anyway, with The Master Chief Collection releasing next week I wanted to make this WNW dedicated to it, so prepare your bodies for the Weekly News Wrap-Up of the century. The Halo Hype Edition! View attachment: WNW HaloHype.JPG Halo: Escalation #14 Revealed! Okay, I know this article is a few weeks old but I noticed it was never reported on and I needed a Halo spot to fill, so what better way to do it than with Escalation? Halo4Nation.com has the story, as the issue was recently revealed with some sweet coverart. This artwork (below) depicts Jul 'Mdama clawing open a UNSC door with brute strength, an energy sword donned in his other hand. This looks to be a depiction of a raid of some sort, possibly on a UNSC camp or laboratory. The description mentions Dr. Catherine Halsey's allegiance to Jul, possibly hinting at her return in this comic to exact her revenge on the UNSC. This is apparently a four part series that continues after the events of Spartan Ops and serves to tie loose ends. It will release on the 28th of January next year. View attachment: HaloEscalation14.jpg Are you excited for the release of this new comic series expanding on Dr. Halsey and the Elites? Let me know below! Mass Effect 4 Lead Writer Confirmed, Halo 4's Writer This is actually a really intriguing story that might anger some but excite others, either way it's a great conversation piece. Details on Mass Effect 4, or whatever the name might be, have been extremely scant down to the tiniest details like who is writing the game and any staff on board? GameInformer.com gave us one of these answers, as we have learned that Chris Schierf, the man who wrote Halo 4, will be writing the next Mass Effect. He shared details about how it's a hero's journey and you follow Shepard's path in the article. As well, Mike Gamble, a long time veteran of the franchise, will be producing the game. View attachment: Halo4Palmer.JPG What's your take on this news? Do you think Chris is up to the task? Debate below! Eurogamer Shows Off Halo 2: Anniversary Forge Eurogamer is a lucky group of people, as they got their hands on an early copy of Halo: The Master Chief Collection and decided to share upon us some footage with new details. All of this is on Halo4Nation.com, so credits to them. For starters, the fan service given by 343i is immense, with the introduction of a bright red Energy Sword labelled as an 'infected' Energy Sword, along with a new infected player model. They also showed off some Heretic Banshee gameplay, with it's bright purple lights on clear display while in flight. They also revealed something fans of the Halo series have been dying to see since Halo 3 when workarounds to 'create' it were discovered, the Civilian Warthog. The vehicle is bright gold and features a spare tire in the back, being remodeled and not just a reskin. They also highlighted the three new Spartan and Elite armour variants, and they showed off the Halo: CE Flamethrower. While they did not showcase the other two Forge maps, Nebula and Skyward, they detailed both of them, confirmed Skyward's position near a Halo ring and Nebula's floating space setting, being the Impact we wanted originally. New details will be revealed in the coming days, but for now, that's all Eurogamer had for us. View attachment: D0lhZxh.png What are your thoughts on some of the new features revealed? Discuss in the thread! Thanks so much for reading ladies and gentlemen, I hope to see you soon mowing down the Covenant and punching the Prophet to the sound of Steve Vai's guitar! See you all on Zanzibar, peace! View full article
