  1. First of all, don't reply to this unless you have something helpful to say or actually have the power to do something to help. I don't need "boy genius" rebuttals based on opinion. "hey man, the game got a high score on duh duh duh duh duh duh duh duh duh.". Save it, I spent (and continue to spend) good money here, I have a right to complain if I wish. There are some things on my mind that we need to have a little chat about, these things have caused me to not even want to play the game anymore. I'll list them in numbered order and below that I'll go into further detail. 1. My account has been banned from using voice communications for apparently no reason and for too long. 2. My loadouts keep getting reset. 3. You added Team Snipers for only a week? 4. You sell early access to an add-on map pack on the first day the game comes out. 5. The map selection is.... terrible. 6. You drove level progression as a new system while capping xp and not allowing people to level past 70 (unless they bought limited edition) until today. 7. Perfections not showing up. Okay addressing Number 1, as stated I have been banned from voice communications for [insert explanation here]. I received a notification of this about 10 minutes after a big team match. I have absolutely no idea what I did wrong. Also the pop-up said that I was banned for a week and it's been much longer than that. Needless to say I WANT IT BACK. Number 2! The loadouts.... uuuuugh the loadouts... I customize them perfectly for my use in ever-changing "battle situations", but yea they seem to reset just about every other time I get on. Number 3, this is stupid, it was a popular one! You're effing Microsoft for goodness sake. If Bungie was able to afford to have this as a game type all the time then why can't you? Pick something badass and stick with it, this is what grows great expectations of a business... consistency. DERP. Number 4, I've never seen a game so blatantly putting money first. Right from the get go this was apparent with the ad for the purchase of a future map pack popping up right when I put the game in for the first time. Now don't get me wrong, as an avid gamer I know that add-on content is to be expected, not only does it ad things like "replayability" for the consumer but also hikes profits for the developer/publisher. But it shouldn't be like this, "Oh now that you bought the game, you should buy something else...". Number 5, this one kind of ties into number four. You could have included those maps, but you decided to sell them separately instead. Thanks a lot. Number 6, this was a big one for not only me, but all of the friends that I gamed with from day one. Bought the game, some dew, doritos, (for dub xp and munchies) did some war games, spartan ops... Here I am on the 21st at level 70 not able to go anywhere. Guess what I did... Played Starcraft 2 instead. Would have rather used your product (play Halo) but I had to wait 9 days so I didn't waste my time furthering my commendations without receiving the xp from them. Number 7, not as big of a deal right now, but I've had at least 2 perfections (games with 15 kills or over and no deaths) that should have been counted but didn't show up in the commendations, this was right after I reached level 70. So ya might wanna get that system checked. End.
  2. Since this seems like an official site of 343i (apart from waypoint), I thought I would just ask, I know it's the lead up to christmas and all, but what is the news on how the playlists are being affected and when the full playlists will be implemented? I've heard that they will be up in time, but has any sort of a timescale been set to do this? I don't think it's just me who wants to know this, i'm sure other community members are keen to find out when that little bit of something extra in matchmaking is going to be added, making this already awesome game, perfect (popular classic gametypes, map rotation etc.). I also think that there has been a lot of input from the community about this sort of stuff and yeah, it's a great game and I realise it hasn't been out for long, but I can't help but wonder if 343i will take up the role that bungie left with as much enthusiasm towards the concerns of the community as bungie originally did. Anyone hear what i'm saying?
  3. Why is it that the Most Downloaded and Most Recommended still isn't working? I have not been able to look at any cool maps and it is kinda depressing because then I can't find any good custom stuff to do with friends unless I look them up on Youtube or something.
  4. So what are everones thoughts on the Crimson Map Pack, now that its out? Personaly I just don't feel like the players should have had to pay for it at all, subsiquent maps, maybe. But I think there are very few maps per game type in the core verision and that being charged to have a few more, which in most games would have been ecpected at launch is a bit ridiculous, even if it is only ten dollars. So I'm just wondering am I alone in thinking this, or do you guys who have payed for the pack think that it was worth it/fair?
  5. Hello guys, I am a veteran of Halo, been playing since 2002 Combat Evolved. I really got into forge in Halo 3, and I've been making tons of maps since then. Most of them are not on my file share. But here are two forge maps I have made recently for Halo 4. You can download them from my file share. I'll post more as I make them. Gamertag: Baby Nades Map Names: Colossus, Primal Both maps are set for team slayer only and both are 2-8 players. Here are the photos of each map, I took these photos with my iPhone, so please pardon the image quality. PRIMAL: COLOSSUS: The images do not do these maps justice in my opinion, especially Primal, but I hope they give you guys a good idea of the basic layout. Primal is made for MLG gameplay, and Colossus is made for competitive multiplayer. Thanks for looking. Regards, Corey
  6. Larger maps have their place, don't get me wrong, but many of my fondest memories of the halo multiplayer experience occurred in maps that are 5 or 6 times smaller than some of the halo 4 maps. As halo has evolved so too has the size of the playable space in multiplayer increased. I understand that some of this is an intentional shift away from the more intimate 2v2 split screen experience to the more inclusive 8v8 online experience, and that this shift requires a larger playground - and as I said I'm certainly not knocking big maps. I love vehicular combat as much as the next guy. But I would love a map as small as Longest, or Prisoner or Chill Out and sadly these are seemingly going extinct. I made an account just to write this post, because it's important to me. So if it's important to you, leave a comment and let 343 hear you. Bring back those tight spaces we all loved so much.
  7. okay so I have some beautiful forge maps on halo reach, any way that i could transcribe them into halo 4?
  8. I know people normally complain about ragnarok being played to much, but lately I have noticed a significant increase in the amount of times exile is being voted in bts. It's like every time i get thrown in to a match it's on exile. The game needs more maps I know but until then i think there should be more balance in the choices (maybe 343 should throw erosion into the vote), I don't know if it's just me but ragnarok hardly even comes up for vote anymore.
  9. I'm starting this as a petition to get Forge World back. Halo just isn't the same without it. Please reply on this topic and maybe we can get the attention of 343 and get the best Forge map back. Thanks, DuskyMeteor0
  10. As the title and poll says, what do you all think of the size of the Forge maps.
  11. I don't understand why they aren't giving us everything there is to offer, I have so many questions and I'm just hoping someone can answer some of them for me. I am talking about few things here but mainly the matchmaking, I'm not here to complain about it, I'm thoroughly enjoying it, but it is definitely getting repetitive -Matchmaking First problem with the matchmaking is the playlists, why are there so few? Why is there no doubles and what happened to assault? It just makes no sense to me to not have more playlists in there, they have Griffball and Extraction in custom games but not in matchmaking. I guess they could say they want less playlists so there are more players in each one providing more games to find, more people close to you, better connection etc. but we survived in Halo 3, sometimes searching in the early hours of the morning in Assault with less than 100 people in the playlist, but we made it work. I guess this is more of a plea for more playlists, especially doubles (which was in my opinion the best playlist ever), or at the very least an explanation as to why there aren't more. Second, Rank. I know they're working on their ranking system but daaaaaaaaamn, I've been sitting on 70 for aaaaaaages because I couldn't afford to pay extra for early specializations and it grinds my gears that you can reach max level very quickly just by putting lots of time in, too much emphasis has been put on the casual gamers. The amount of XP you get just for seeing out a matchmaking game til the end is ridiculous, sure I don't want people quitting but I don't to sit there pulling out all the stops, getting only up to 3000XP (Seems to be the max) while my AFK teammate gets half that just because he was too lazy to push a few buttons and quit. They NEED to bring the proper rank system out ASAP, I worked ridiculously hard for my 50 in H3 and it took me a long time, where as it took me a couple of weeks to get to 70 and I see other 70's on my team and think "sweet, we should take the other team to the cleaners." But in actuality all they've done is put in the hours and reached 70 without performing well in game at all. Third, Specializations. C'moooooooooon, let me level up more, getting early access to specializations should be rewarded for being a fan no doubt about it, but when I stomp through the noobs getting to 70 quickly and not being able to progress because I didn't front up the extra dollars for early access it pisses me off. Those 12 year old "fans" whose parents bought the most expensive one they could find shouldn't get early to those specializations. Don't tease me 343, "Here's our game enjoy, oh wait, you've been playing quite a lot today, you're not allowed any more XP today how about that?" "Oh you've reached level 70 already, great job but you can't go any further because only fans get the early specializations and you clearly not a fan because you didn't pay us enough." Fourth, "Challenges" Challenges are meant to be just that, a challenge. "Complete 4 matchmaking games" They already give out to much XP for completing matches then they put out a challenge that gives out more XP just for playing 4 games. These challenges are just like the ranking system, rewarding people just for putting in time, you will always get the daily and weekly challenges just by playing. Challenges should be difficult, you should have to strive to get them with every possibly that would might not get the daily challenge today because you're just not good enough. -Moooooooving on to something else, Fileshare. This one just baffles me, why can't we see everyone's fileshares yet? That's all I have to say about that one... I guess that's all I have to say for now, apologies if it seems like I'm having a bit of a rant. I was huge fan of Halo 3 and I love Halo 4 but I feel like they could be doing a lot more for fans and they could cater more towards better players instead of the casual gamer.
  12. - 90% of all games are only between Complex, Adrift, Abandon and Haven, when there is 9 other maps on disc, plus the opportunity for 343i to atleast add Forge maps ffs. -SWAT is on rotation and 343i are removing it, even if it is temporary, that's dumb. -343i put so much effort into EXP banning people just for playing the game when they aren't boosting. -There isn't a system to boot people when they go AFK. -There's seemingly no 343i presence on these forums. -The DMR hasn't been balanced out. Just slightly lower its fire rate ffs. I'm beginning to think 343i doesn't care and are just map starving everyone to try and boost sales of the map packs. When you EXP ban your players, you are begging them to just play Black Ops 2. I'm not trying to sound arrogant or condescending, but a lot of Halo fans have been around longer than you 343i, you should tell Microsoft that sales will continue to be lackluster if they don't let you finish the game. A game is not ready for release when there are no maps, the playlists are a mess and you have to add in the ranking system post launch. I am mostly happy with Halo 4, these are just some problems I'm sure most of the community would like fixed. You aren't Bungie, you have to earn respect. Please read etc, but I doubt it.
  13. I want to first off say that 343's attempt at making halo has been a good one. I avidly played previous halos and it was honestly the best multiplayer experience on xbox. This new halo offers some unique changes and these changes haven't gone over completely well with the veteran fanbase. I have a few suggestions to help the veteran fanbase and gameplay in general. The main topic being map DLC. DMR - It seems that there are alot of topics about the DMR being overpowered. I agree with this. It's a shame when you're all the way across the map and getting picked off by a DMR before you even have time to react. It is so noticeably more powerful then the other starting rifles that it causes a problem. I suggest a slight nerf to its power or a decent nerf to its fire rate. The light rifle scoped shot is powerful but you cannot fire that fast, a similar concept added to the DMR would balance it. Ordinance Drops - This seems to as well be a very covered topic amongst these forums and I for one think that they are an interesting idea but poorly done. There is a considerable lack of map control and weapon control because of these ordinance drops and lack of weapon placement on the maps. It is always frustrating when you turn a corner and anyone on the other team could come around with an incineration cannon or other power weapon. There is no longer any work for the power weapons which was a key element that made halo 3's multiplayer so great. Buff Suggestions - I would like to suggest a slight buff to plasma grenades (unless you stick someone they are completely worthless), the carbine (frightfully underpowered compared to the other rifles) and to vehicle health (I remeber when you had to make a big effort to take down a banshee or tank or some other vehicle, now one person with a starting weapon can just shoot them a few times and they'll blow up. You are more just a big target instead of something to be feared.) Maps/DLC playlists - This part is for the veteran players as well as new halo players that would like to experience the former glory of halo 2 and 3. 343's attempt at map making has not been good. I, along with many people I play with, have to come to agree that the only really DECENT (not great) maps with the game are Ragnarock, Haven and Longbow. Essentially every other map shipped with the game is not very good at all. Previous halo games had beautiful, well thought out and playable maps. *THIS IS MY MAIN REQUEST/SUGGESTION FOR THIS ENTIRE TOPIC* In order to make the multiplayer experience better I want to suggest the following to 343. I know this would be ambitious but it would greatly increase the playability and replay ability of Halo 4. Despite the fact that the DLC has already been announced and what maps will be released, I wish to suggest to 343 that they remake or just touch up maps from halos 2 and 3 to make a rather sizeable DLC for Halo 4. Obvious fan favorites such as Blood Gulch, The Pit, and Guardian (to name a few) would return. I for one believe that every halo 3 map with the exception of Isolation should come back (that seems too ambitious and I highly doubt 343 would bring back that many maps). Although I would like all those maps back some of the most popular small and big team maps would suffice. In addition to the maps, the DLC would also include ranked playlists specifically focused on the DLC maps. These playlist would vary between gametypes like Doubles (should be in the game already ) Slayer, Objective, Squad Battle, and others. The key elements to these playlists however would be that they include NO ARMOR ABILITIES, loadouts would be fine but would be limited to suit more skillful gameplay. NO PERSONAL ORDINANCE DROPS, and power weapons along with normal weapons would be on the maps. I believe this would be ambitious but if 343 could do it they will have succeeded in making the best halo game to date.
  14. Are user submitted forge maps ever going to be integrated into matchmaking? If so, does anyone have any idea 1) How one would submit a map, 2) When submitted maps would be available and 3) If maps could be used in all of the gametypes?
  15. So I built a decent version of lockout/blackout (what ever your preference) its kind of a hybrid from both but definatly a fun and well constructed map. I spent like 10-12hrs on it but now i want to play on them and there is nobody but like 2 people that will play customs (on my list). 16. Which maps do you believe should be brought back?
  17. What game type and maps that you think should be remade in halo 4?
  18. http://youtu.be/2WKH3FRP3M0 These are all the maps included in the online multiplayer since the release of H4. If you guys have any questions, let me know! It's my first time attempting a callout guide, so any constructive thoughts would be stellar! <3 overall credit goes to MLG though!
  19. Right, I've been playing halo ever since the release of Halo 3, and the maps for forge have never been great. Until Halo: Reach's "Forge World". And basically the maps on Halo 4 are shabby to say the absolute least! And yes i do know that Bungie owned Halo: Reach, so if not Forge World, please bring out a massive new map, built with forge in mind. Just an open map which is perfect for building anything! I've also noticed that the maps on Halo 4 don't have a very high border, so height is an issue for most maps. So again, please bring out a map made for forge! And another thing, why on earth don't you get any Human aircraft? in the campaign you are accessed to The Pelican, which is an amazing new feature in Halo, so why not use it for online game play? where it is used and cherished most?! So please, give everyone what they deserve, Bring back Forge World. Sincerely, Players of Halo.
  20. we need a free world to create in. im talking massive free world in the open. second we need to be able to change the flood weapon! please make these changes.
  21. I was going through all of the maps in forge and I noticed that the area included no forge world. I kind of expected for it to not be in the game however, I would still really like to add one if possible. The one in reach was perfect for me and it gave me A LOT of space to build. Some of the most creative things I've ever done has come out of that map. Halo 4 added a bunch of new and interesting things to the forge mode in the game. There's so many awesome things to try plus they brought in some of the great stuff from halo reach. So if you combine in some of the two's greatest features you'd have amazing forge creations popping out everywhere. The problem with some of the maps in the game is that they're too small. The map erosion, for example, Has a great little hangar to forge in, however it runs out of space really quickly. All I know is, is that when I get bored of the campaign and matchmaking I turn to forge and I cant paint a big picture without a big canvas.

Does anybody know if people are going to "remake" the map in forge, or if 343i is going to single handedly bring it back? Reply with your thoughts. Regards, Guru

    Forge maps.

I am honestly dissapointed in the forge maps for Halo 4. When I first saw clips and pictures of them, they looked great. But when I played on them, I was dissapointed. First off, I thought Ravine would be a map I would like because it had a resemblance to the Forge World environment from Halo reach. While it does look similar at first, it's not even close. The size of the map is tiny. If 343 expects anyone to be able to build decent maps on it, I don't know what they're thinking. The kill boundaries and cliffs contain you in one small area. Impact is really the only map I can see myself using, I really have no problems with it. Erosion is okay-sized. The idea of the underground cave area is very cool, but one big thing that bothers me is there is so much space over the green water(which yes, is good for building maps in the air), but you can't go near the water at all. I had some great ideas for maps on the water, but the boundaries are too restrictive. Overall, I think in an upcoming map pack 343 should include a map much like Forge World from Reach. It was very open, had many areas and different surfaces to build from, didn't restrict you from certain areas(besides the ocean when you got far out enough), and was just a great map. I must say 343 has added many cool features to Forge and I give them credit for that, but there should be a bigger map for it similar to Forge World in my opinion. P.S. I also think they should add back UNSC air vehicles such as Falcons/Hornets, and a mid-size Covenant vehicle such as the Revenant. Sometimes the Ghost is too small for certain battles or the Wraith is too big and bulky. The Revenant was right in-between.
