  1. Name of Map: KillHouse V2.0 Canvas Map: Forge World Link to MAP: http://halo.xbox.com/en-us/haloreach/Legit%20dp/fileshare#!/?section=MapVariants&MapId=&GameMode=0&SearchDate=7&SortBy=2&view-select=Tile&tags=&startIndex=0 Link to Gametype: http://www.bungie.net/Stats/Reach/FileDetails.aspx?fid=27184480&player=MLG%20Gametypes Recommended Player Count: 10 Game Variant: Objective Gamertag: Legit dp LegitForger Creations This map was made and built in inspiration from TC's Rainbow Six Vegas 2. Any gamer of the series knows this map for its close quarter firefights and those long range Famas shots across the open top of the map to the other side. This map brings that and more. Designed in the mindset of CTF, this map can also be used in TS. The map from its V1.0 has been modified to ease gameplay and eliminate long sight lines. The images you will see will mostly be accurate, but the spawns have been changed. Instead of the ugly forge pieces you see in the images, I have made new objects back in the spawn area to make the area more aesthetically pleasing and nice looking. Unfortunately due to school the updating of these images has been rare. The best way in full aspect is to play it yourself and see the competitive side to it in difficulty. Guns Below: DMR x 6 ST: 30 Seconds Sniper x 2 ST: 60 Needler Rifle x 2 ST: 30 Plasma Pistol x 2 ST: 30 Frag Grenades x 6 ST: 15 Plasma Grenades x 4 ST: 15 KillHouse V2.0 Created by Legit dp Inspiration from Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 Map KillHouse Map Description The map features an inspired design from TC's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 Map KillHouse. The map has been redesigned with competitive gameplay in mind. The map is symmetrical on both ends and features two height variations. The map features two main buildings both with a front patio. Along with a back open loft area, which houses the stairs to the second level. Each main base contains five ways in and out. Two of which on ground floor. The map features two snipers, one grenade launcher, two plasma pistols, two needler rifles, four health packs, and 6 DMRS. The map has a top middle and bottom middle. The top middle portion is attached to the main buildings via the base bridges which protrude out from the second story of the buildings. And a main walkway which spans the whole one side of the map. Featuring an interesting High-Low gradient when looking at the map from front view. Spawning is key in this map and has been placed strategically to allow chances for a player to help teammates or in Capture the Flag put the player in a position to make quick decisive action depending on where the flag is ran. No high point is over powerful in this map because of the pieces of cover and line of sight breakers being used threw out the map, leading to an extremely balanced game. Pictures are below. Here is a above view of the middle of the map. Straight below the view you have (Which can not be seen)is the grenade launcher spawn. Which can be accessed by 2 lifts on either side. Or the top middle bridge itself. We also get our first look at the top middle layout along with the first floor cover pieces. (Left and Right) Here is a view of Red Base. We can see the patio where the Red Team Flag would be located in Capture the Flag. Also we can see the multiple access points located on the left and right of the patio. To the left is the main walkway. A Red light has been placed on the base to solidify the team the Base belongs. No framerate problems with the lights. Same with the Blue Base. Here we have the look at the front of Blue Base. As this can be easily seen the base is completely symmetrical to the Red Base. Here we have the first bottom middle view. Above the view you see is where grenade launcher spawns. (Top Lift) The lifts are located on either side of the walls, though not visible, left and right or the screen. These lifts are one way shields, therefore they make no noise when used. We can also see the line of site breakers in bottom middle. An interesting piece which creates and interesting battle in bottom middle. A health pack is located right behind the view this image gives us. This is also a neutral spawn area. Here is another view of bottom middle, but this time on the opposite side of the map. No lifts are located in this area. And the health pack is behind the view this provides once again. The walkway that spans the whole side of the map is located above this view. This is a neutral spawn area. Here we get a full length view of the Underneath Walkways side of Blue Base. There is a line of sight breaker immediatley ahead and further up. This area has no spawn in it for its lack of protection. Even though this area is commonly avoided by players. Making this a good flanking run on the enemy. Here we have the underneath walkway side of Red Base. We have the same line of sight breakers as on the Blue Base Side. Here is the view of top middle from the top walkway perspective. Here we can see the bridges from each base the feel of the map more effectively. The walkway is the same height as top middle so the image we see is a bird’s view of the area. Below this photo, though not in view, is a neutral spawn area based around a piece of cover. Here is the open side of Blue Base and as we can see there are line of sight breakers so players on the other side of top middle cannot see all the way through. Here is the first look at grenade launcher spawn. And the open side of Blue Base. Here is the inside look at the Red Lobby of Reds Base. A nice ceiling height allowing full jump and close quarter turns around each wall opening to the wider portion of the base. Here we can see Blue Lobby of Blues base. It is the exact same design as Reds Base. I would like to thank all very close friends of mine who helped test the map.I would also like to thank anyone in advanced for submitting feedback to the map. It means a lot.

  3. COMPANY FREELANCER Company Freelancer or CFL is a Competitive Clan. We have very skilled members that will more than likely be on everyday. We don't judge people by K/D but how they perform. How well you do in a 1v1, or Team Slayer with the clan determines if you can join. We don't necessarily have a ranking system all we really require is that you wear the emblem. Our clan record is I would say around 26-1. We have two leaders one being myself and the other being the U.K. Leader WK Fighter. We have a U.S. and U.K. Division. I lead the U.S. We have around 35 members. We have a youtube link here http://www.youtube.com/user/CompanyFreelancer/featured and if you would like to sign up using a form you can go to our website here http://companyfreelancer.webs.com/ there we will post clips, gameplay, clan battles, game nights, machinimas, etc. You can expect us to be around for a while and expect us in Halo 4. If you would like to join message me JimmyEagle13 or sign up using the form on the webite.

  6. Two teams allegedly agreed to split the cash earning no matter who won. Both teams disqualified. I find this very unsportsmanlike conduct. Read below for more details. From: http://www.g4tv.com/ By: Leah Jackson The top two League of Legends teams were disqualified at the MLG Summer Championship for collusion. Team Curse NA and Team Dignitas had already secured the top spots going in to the grand final but instead of choosing to play out the games in a standard manner they made two very bad decisions. The two teams first raised eyebrows when they chose to play in the unconventional format of All Random, All Middle, to "entertain fans" rather than play in a traditional format that is normally seen in tournament play. What made matters worse was that the teams allegedly agreed to split the prize money of $32,000 regardless of who won the match. According to Major League Gaming, this clearly violated MLG’s Official Pro Circuit Conduct Rules which state, "competitors may not intentionally Forfeit a Game or conspire to manipulate Rankings or Brackets." Riot Games, developer of League of Legends, agreed with MLG's ruling and as a result, MLG disqualified both teams, denied them all of their prize money, and announced that both teams will not be receiving any Circuit Points towards the North American Regionals. "Both teams have agreed that the disqualification was warranted. While there is some contention over the exact nature of the actions taken by Curse NA and Dignitas which led to the disqualification, both teams, as well as MLG and Riot, agree that any collusion, or anything involving not playing a tournament match to win, warrants disqualification," said MLG. Following MLG's announcement, members of both teams quickly issued apology statements to MLG, Riot, and the fans. You can check out Team Curse's statement below. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXOpt86zVJ0&feature=player_embedded Before anyone tries to defend either team, consider what would happen if MLG allowed this kind of behavior. At the end of the day, the whole point of the tournament is to determine who is the best player or group of players in the world. If they allowed this once, they'd have to allow it for everyone which would completely ruin the tournament. MLG is trying to legitimize eSports, and just like in real sports, there can only be one champion so why should it be any different here?
  7. Another Entry of BABHP Coming your way! The Secret To Zealot. when i think of Zealot, the first map that comes to me is Heretic (Halo 3) Or Midship (Halo 2). Not just because of the obvious Covanent/Purple design put on it, but because of the way it was played. Like most maps, Heretic/Midship was won by top control of the P's and Carbine's and Top mid, if you had that, you'd win since you can shoot down on your enemies and take control of the map. Zealot is slightly different, but the same concept never remains. There's no real way to control Zealot, as its so open, however, there are ways to get spawn traps and keep them in the base for a while. Lets start with, the Pillars/Landings. As you can see, the Pillars are a lead up from the lifts, so obviously, if you control the pillars, you control the lifts, but also you can watch people coming down from the bases and flags and put fire on them before they ever see you, Pillars are easily the most important part of the map as they are basically your way to see everything going in the map and they are essentially control points for if you want to control the map itself, however, there are other control points which are needed. The Top mid is also important, as obviously you can see everywhere, you can see down the spiral, basement, everywhere, everywhere that needs to be taken care of, you can take care of from there, it is essential you control these main points as this will win you the game. If i had to play Zealot right now, i'd play it like this TWO on pillars/Landings ONE on Top Mid ONE on Bottom Mid These means all of the points which they can stop you are covered, as they will not be able to get close to you. 2. Your Teammates and Teamwork. Most MLG pro players consider their teammates their best friends. This is because they do a lot of social activities together. Soccer, Night Clubs, even MLG games in the same room, all of this leads to socializing and as such leading to better teamwork as you will be so used to each other that, while it will take a bit of time, your teamwork will just flow like that. So, if you want to make a team, try and get a team of people who are close to you so then you can hang out more and get used to each other, and this will improve your team game play, which is essential for a game like Halo Reach since Teamwork is now so much more important and individual skill isn't so much. 3. Your Dream Setup A Setup is essential to any up and coming player in order to get good. It is essential you have a good setup in order to raise your game to the next level. A Setup is arguably the most important thing in a MLG player as if you don't have the right setup, it won't work out. DON'T BUY A HUGE TV. Buy a 22 Inch Asus. Why? Because BIG TV's have screen lag and as such this will make the game play rubbish and not worthwhile, getting a small TV with no screen lag is brilliant as then you will hit shots you are meant to hit and there will be no lag coming with it because of your Big TV. BUY GOOD HEADPHONES. Good headphones are essential as you will be able to hear things many players can't, such as a grenade change or weapon change, which as a result will help you to guess where the player is and kill him, and he will be like "How the F did he know i was there?" Well, with good headphones like Steelseries or Astros, your game play and communication will improve greatly. Chair and stuff isn't essential as it doesn't really matter. However, i recommend getting a controller you will get used to quickly as that controller will be your life gaming wise. You can't keep switching controllers as every controller is different and it will feel weird. 4. Sports and how they help. Sports keep you active, they keep you healthy, and they keep you in top shape. However, many sports help to speed up reactions, sports like Baseball and Football/Soccer help speed up reactions as you have to think quick and on your feet, and this will transfer into games like halo, as it is the same concept, you have to be quick and think fast if you want to live, Many Pros like Tsquared and FearItSelf Play Basketball and some do Yoga to relax and stuff, because competitive gaming can get very stressful, and basketball is also a good way of speeding up reactions as you have to decide when to pass or shoot very quickly and if you make a mistake, you can lose some points for your team, so sports are a major help in reactions and similar things required to improve gaming. 5. Overview of Halo 4 for Competitive Needs. If you haven't heard about Halo 4, you have been living under a rock, on a bridge, or somewhere where no people live, and there's no form of communication or technology in the world, however, if you are one of the many people who have heard about halo 4, you will have seen many features like AA's, permanent Sprint, Weapons, etc. But, how will these fit into competitive/MLG likeings? First off, we need a ranking system, competitive gaming thrived off the ranking system and halo 4 should be no different, it shouldn't be 1-50 however it shouldn't be XP based either, it needs to be bang in the middle where it is fair but also competitive, this will lead to more people playing the game and the game lasting much longer. Also, Im glad 343i have realised that many people want classic gameplay, and with that they have taken out everything and just left us with the core gameplay, this will make many halo 2 / halo 3 /MLG fans happy as they wanted to play the game in its barebones and without any Halo 4 added settings, this was a good move by 343 for its competitive crew. IMO i think many of halo 4 features, if tweaked properly, can be used in MLG / Competitive settings, but i want to play the game with settings and without, and then i will make a future thread about it. Thanks For Reading. In Entry 13. - The Pit - Strategy - How To Get Ready for Halo 4 - Specializations for Halo 4 - Favourite Dual Combo to have in MLG - Other news.
  8. From: http://www.gameinformer.com/ By: Jack Gardner Thousands are set to descend on Raleigh, North Carolina for the biggest North American eSports event of the summer. The Championship will feature a total prize pool of nearly $215,000. MLG expects thousands to flock to their summer championship at the Greater Raleigh Convention Center and millions more to watch the online streams. From the amount of content they are putting out for the Summer Championship, I wouldn't be surprised if they shattered their previous attendance/viewership records. The main events will be the StarCraft II, Mortal Kombat, Soul Calibur V, and League of Legends tournaments. StarCraft II fans can expect to see previous champions Taeja, Marine King, and Violet going up against hundreds of prospective summer champions for the $25,000 first place prize. There will be four streams for StarCraft II matches cast by Day[9], Apollo, djWheat, TotalBiscuit, Mr Bitter, Rotterdam, Rob Simpson, Tim Frazier (Robin), Axeltoss, Kibbelz, Clutch, and Adebisi (observer). Mortal Kombat and Soul Calibur V each have a first place prize of $16,700 and will feature the likes of DetroitBalln, CDjr, Keev_, Kayane, LostProvidence, Pig of the Hut, among others. Each fighting game will have one dedicated stream cast by Tom Brady for Mortal Kombat, Bibulus forSoul Calibur V, and hosted by Juicebox Abel. League of Legends will have the largest prize money with $40,000 given to the winning team. Twelve teams will be competing for honor and riches including Curse and Dignitas. Two streams of the competition will be cast by Dan Dinh, Optimus Tom, Deman, Monte Cristo, Jaws, and Jatt. In addition to all of that eSports goodness, there will also be several other awesome events occurring. Blizzard Entertainment’s StarCraft II World Championship Series North American Finals will have a separate stage and competition area. Players will be competing for $60,000 and the chance to represent their countries at the Battle.net World Championship in Shanghai November 17-18. Some of the players to watch will be Scarlett, ViBE, and MajOr, winners of the Canada, US, and Mexico Finals, respectively. There will be two exhibition tournaments of Virtua Fighter 5 and Skullgirls each with $2,000 prize pools. The exhibitions will be held Friday through Saturday. For more information on attending or viewing the MLG Summer Championship, click here. Also, MLG has been kind enough to provide me with a few HD codes that can be used to view the event in HD without ads and with full access to all streams. Tweet at me, @Riverboatjack, with #MLGRaleigh for a chance to win one of the codes! Tune in August 24-26 to watch the action go down in Raleigh.

  12. Gamebattles will probably add the Halo 4 ladders by the winter and my question is, what will the settings be for the matches, and for the matchmaking/ pub players. I'm hoping that bloom won't be a factor because I would take that out immediately. The BR should be a 4 shot and the magnum should have the same damage as the Halo 3 model. These are just my thoughts, feel free to leave yours in the replies below.

So I was on twitter thinking I wonder if ninja knows if halo 4 is coming out on the mlg circuit andif hes played it yet. he tweets me back saying he hasn't played It and no it's not being Annouced on the mlg circuit.... What?!? So let me get this straight we got Starcraft and cod on the mlg circuit black balling halo fans? Now I could of misunderstood ninja and he just doesn't know yet but if so what kinda impact will that have on halo players that play to become the best and hope of securing that spot in the top 16 to be considered pro.If he's right I'nma post a video and mail it to mlg the link and maybe talk to some pros as well because that would suck and I don't feel like taking up a noob friendly game like call of duty to play competivly, and if this does happen off I hope there are some tourneys like gears of war 3 has had like hyperstation to put some money up for die hard players.. What are your guys and girls take on this? Edit: it hasn't been Annouced yet. Double checked the tweet he sent to me

  18. HLG, An Alternative Way of Winning As many of you know, but most of you don't, HLG is Hidden League Gaming. The goal of HLG is to score above their opponent and then hide for the rest of the game forcing their opponent to either quit or sit through the game clock. Members of HLG are known as "Map Breakers" because the most common way they hide is to use a glitch to get out of the map, or out of the normal line of sight. "We do not hide because we have to, we hide because we can. Welcome to an alternative way of winning." Origins of HLG HLG, similar to MLG (Major League Gaming), was made popular by the game Halo. It has since spread into other online Multiplayer games such as CoD, Battlefield, and even Team Fortress. HLG, while not being an actual organization (it's more similar to Anonymous, where anyone who has skill can be affiliated by simply saying they are) was started because of MLG's rise to fame. HLG was made popular by derankers and boosters (who, in some cases are actually better players than some people in MLG) in Halo 3. HLG vs MLG The reason for HLG's popularity was the same as the reason for MLG's popularity. Players would say something like "I'm MLG pro" and such, and would get stomped in the game. So, HLG PRO was dubbed. HLG PRO is actually an acronym rather than an abbreviation. In the case of MLG pro, pro means professional. In the case of HLG PRO, pro means "******** off Randoms". Unlike MLG, HLG was made as a joke, but turned into a rather large and competitive group. Players in HLG compete against each other on occasion to find the "best" hiding spots in a map. HLG's original purpose was to "troll" those who take gameplay seriously and claim that they are "in" MLG. Considering the majority opinion of those who back MLG on HLG is that they are "camping little girls", it seems to have worked. HLG "Skills" Many are of the opinion that HLG takes no skill. This, however, is not the case. To be effective in HLG, you have to be able to take and maintain the lead in a game while also find and get in a hiding spot. A competitive HLG game has more "moving parts" than a competitive MLG game. In an MLG game, you have to use teamwork to either capture an objective while defending your own, or to kill the enemy team more often then being killed yourself. In an HLG game, you have to be able to gain and maintain a lead score, while simultaneously hiding where the other HLG players will not be able to find you. Both types of gameplay take a coordinated team effort to win, and enough skill in the game to be able to maintain a lead. HLG Evolution Over the years, HLG has evolved from "I heard about this glitch from a friend, we should try it out", to a coordinated effort to reveal glitches in multiplayer maps. These days, HLG players find glitches and make "how to" videos on how to exploit them and post them on youtube. This is thanks mainly in part to ease of access for technology, and the competitive nature of players who have decided to be in HLG. Some of the older HLG players do not like this new trend, as it reveals their secrets for all to see, and either exploit or counter. However, this boosts the "skill" required to play the HLG way, and "separates the men from the boys" as it were. The uploading of HLG videos to youtube not only gives players a chance to counter HLG gameplay, but it also gives the companies running the games the chance to patch the flaws in their maps. This gives HLG a bit more "legitimacy" than it had when it was just rumors. HLG evolved alongside MLG, so it made sense when HLG clans started popping up. For more information on these clans, and how to join, visit http://hlghq.wordpress.com/hlg-clans/ Thanks for reading, hope you learned something. -The Director
  19. Please for the love of god 343i, I would love nothing more than to see an MLG FFA playlist in Reach. I realize they tried it in Halo 3 and it was basically an epic fail but I think it would be SOOOOO much better in Reach and a lot more people would play it. I know the majority of my friends list would play a lot of FFA. I'm primarily an MLG player and thats pretty much the only reason I play Halo: Reach. And if I have friends on that want to play MLG then I'll play MLG playlist with them but if no one is on or I don't feel like playing MLG playlist I would play MLG ffa playlist so I really think you guys should consider adding an MLG FFA playlist please!!!!!
  20. Hey everyone my GT is Roso132 and I've started an MLG Team called "Origin". I'm having trouble finding people who are good enough to join, although anyone who does want to join just thinks its a silly team they can get on with any skill level...WRONG! I'm looking for the best of the best to tryout for my team! REQUIREMENTS: Microphone Knowledge of where you are at anytime on the map Every weapon spawn location Calling out And dedicated player. You do "not" need to change your GT, colors, service tag, or emblem Rank does not matter. Just skill and sportsmanship (I don't mind a little trash talk though ) Remember: WE ARE THE ORIGIN!!
  21. Hey everyone, thought some of you might be interested to hear that there's a movie in the works about MLG Halo players. It's not a documentary, but a feature film. The movie is called "Game Changers." I'll leave the link to an article about it below, as well as a link to their fundraising page if anyone wants to donate. http://www.ubspectru...77#.T4Yz1lFSR8O http://www.indiegogo.com/game-changers
  22. Youtube Description: Please comment and like the video, and subscribe if you haven't done so yet. I feel that I am getting better with every project. This is a MLG choketage/whatever random matchmaking clips I could find in my sea of clips. I put this montage together today starting this morning. Most of the clips are random recent clips from within the last month and include a variety of differently playlist, but mostly MLG, since that is what I have been playing most recently. I will be at MLG Anaheim 2012 if MLG picks up Reach for the event. I have a ****ty computer and edit with iMovie. I just tried to have a decent intro with as accurate syncing as I could with the limited program. Enjoy!
  23. Over the last couple of weeks it has become very clear to me that there has been a solid divide placed between those that are "pro" and those that are "not pro" or "noobs." Though it has been years since I played Halo 2 online, if memory serves me correctly, the term "noobs" was used to describe a person that either was completely horrible at the game (2 or less kills) or had no idea what they were doing. Now it seems, the term "noobs" is actually meant to describe a person that doesn't fall within the playing bracket of someone in the M.L.G. So, the question at hand is, if you are not "pro" material, then where do you belong? Accidental kills of your teammates will get your booted. Being booted too many times will leave you on a three day probation. During that three day probation, if you get booted or quit, you will be banned from multiplayer for ten minutes. It's like Halo went from a game , to a profession and anyone that didn't shift with it, or couldn't, was left behind. It just all seems really sad to me that Halo M.M. has split, causing more discrimination then there already is with online games. The bashing and the hate seems to have only grown. Is it possible that Bungie and 343i sold out to the M.L.G.? I don't know but, I really hope that Halo 4 doesn't follow in example of Halo: Reach. Does 343i or Bungie even listen to their consumers, I wonder..? And if so, how does one go about offering suggestions? Thanks for reading. Happy Gaming!! <3
  24. Why i ask is by the looks of it MLG it will slowly be pushed aside and looked at a main stream within the US and not Europe going forward! Here in the Uk & Europe there are many competitive leagues making it big within time that H4 comes out and i was wondering what they plan on doing. One of them being Multiplay which is a HUGE game festival here in the Uk and the other one being EGL ( European Gaming League ) which they due to have a few events this year. Thought Instead of having a MLG playlist they could look at bringing a competitive playlist out run similar to the way they run MLG if not better..... not saying i dont want MLG there at all but seeing there's more competitive sites nowadays and the community speaks out to them if they want changes anyway, which of course is reviewed them implemented if agreed but just thinking of other ways 343 and H4 could do to make it fair on others.... again just an opinion thats all so what do you think? and why....
  25. To whom it may concern, There has been much talk about implementing a ranking system into the MLG playlist over on the MLG forums. I was wondering if 343 could make this happen. Any sort of ranking system at all would be helpful. I would even settle for the Arena ranking system. The same ranking system as the Arena, but with MLG gametypes and maps. This would benefit everybody who plays Halo because it gives people a reason not to quit, it gives people a reason to play and it lets you play against and play with players of your skill type. This is what made Halo 2 and Halo 3 fun to play for myself and I'm sure numerous other Halo players. I know I'm not the only one who wants to see Reach do well in 2012. Let's see if making a ranking system in the MLG playlist can give Reach what it needs to survive 2012. Thanks.
