  1. 343i has released a set of Patch Notes for the Master Chief Collection that feature some new tweaks to the game and essential error fixes. If you don't consider the recent constant updating and tweaking to Halo: The Master Chief Collection after it's disastrous launch a huge red flag of 'Damage Control', I don't know what you would replace it with. Thankfully, 343i is doing their best to fix the game with a new patch now available for download, notes available on HaloWaypoint.com. The update makes massive changes to multiplayer searching increasing the success rate for matches and downplaying the 'Awaiting Privileges' error people received, among other small fixes such as sound tweaks to the countdown timer. The major general update to multiplayer was in the form of updating Halo 2 Anniversary's connection and decreasing bandwidth spikes. Halo: CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 4's campaigns received stat tracking updates, and Halo 3 and 4's scoring for penalties for empty vehicles have been updated. The menus had minor changes such as the booming music volume being lowered and updates to multiplayer status messaging and drop out removal of emblems. If you are one of the six total people who use the Legacy controller scheme, you might have to adjust a bit as the scheme has been enhanced a bit, and finally, stability across all titles has been improved. View attachment: BHzv1iz.jpg It's great that they're looking to fix this stuff, but I want to see more focus on glaring issues such as connection between countries and states being improved as well as the game's blatant empty matchmaking system. There aren't enough game modes right now to make matchmaking viable, even with most people having an easier time getting into a game, and campaign is a mess with friends from different areas with bad connections, hell, I tried playing with Self Destruct (who lives in the US) and Halo 5 Follower (Australia), and only my framerate dropped with Halo 5, but I'd get kicked with SD. I'm not kidding, I shivered with excitement when I saw this post because of my immense love for Halo 3: ODST and my love for Relic. On HaloWaypoint.com, Bonnie Ross revealed what's in store for fans who were disappointed with the rocky launch of Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Some small bonuses are a month of Xbox Live Gold and a nameplate and avatar in-game. The bigger bonuses, if you've played Halo: TMCC from it's launch to today you can pick up Halo 3: ODST and the Halo 2 map Relic, both redone in 1080p 60fps, with Relic getting the anniversary treatment and ODST being up-scaled. No release date for either the map or the additional game have been revealed but 343i has promised more on the two in the upcoming months. The sad news, if you haven't bought Halo: The Master Chief Collection before this date (19.12.14), you aren't entitled to any of the aforementioned content for free, and might not be entitled to it at all unless 343i decides to sell it. On the subject of ODST, it seems to only be the campaign that's being ported as of yet.   5. So with a year until Halo 5: Guardians' launch and a month until the beta begins, why not start hyping the game now? What could go wrong? On Saturday the 29th, at 3pm, you will get to play Halo: The Master Chief Collection with me as we hype the launch of Halo 5: Guardians a year from now! We will play a variety of Halo 5 themed maps that I will create myself, and have a blast doing it. Here are some requirements below: 1. Harsh language and/or slurs are completely fine so long as they aren't aimed at a particular member, ethnic group, sexuality, or any other group of people, I promise you, you will be booted instantly. 2. Please don't be extremely late, especially if we are in a nearly full or full lobby. We won't wait for you, and it leads to sadness and I don't want that. Anyway, with The Master Chief Collection releasing next week I wanted to make this WNW dedicated to it, so prepare your bodies for the Weekly News Wrap-Up of the century. The Halo Hype Edition! Okay, I know this article is a few weeks old but I noticed it was never reported on and I needed a Halo spot to fill, so what better way to do it than with Escalation? Halo4Nation.com has the story, as the issue was recently revealed with some sweet coverart. This artwork (below) depicts Jul 'Mdama clawing open a UNSC door with brute strength, an energy sword donned in his other hand. This looks to be a depiction of a raid of some sort, possibly on a UNSC camp or laboratory. The description mentions Dr. Catherine Halsey's allegiance to Jul, possibly hinting at her return in this comic to exact her revenge on the UNSC. This is apparently a four part series that continues after the events of Spartan Ops and serves to tie loose ends. It will release on the 28th of January next year. Mass Effect 4 Lead Writer Confirmed, Halo 4's Writer This is actually a really intriguing story that might anger some but excite others, either way it's a great conversation piece. Details on Mass Effect 4, or whatever the name might be, have been extremely scant down to the tiniest details like who is writing the game and any staff on board? GameInformer.com gave us one of these answers, as we have learned that Chris Schierf, the man who wrote Halo 4, will be writing the next Mass Effect. He shared details about how it's a hero's journey and you follow Shepard's path in the article. As well, Mike Gamble, a long time veteran of the franchise, will be producing the game. Eurogamer Shows Off Halo 2: Anniversary Forge Eurogamer is a lucky group of people, as they got their hands on an early copy of Halo: The Master Chief Collection and decided to share upon us some footage with new details. All of this is on Halo4Nation.com, so credits to them. For starters, the fan service given by 343i is immense, with the introduction of a bright red Energy Sword labelled as an 'infected' Energy Sword, along with a new infected player model. They also showed off some Heretic Banshee gameplay, with it's bright purple lights on clear display while in flight. They also revealed something fans of the Halo series have been dying to see since Halo 3 when workarounds to 'create' it were discovered, the Civilian Warthog. The vehicle is bright gold and features a spare tire in the back, being remodeled and not just a reskin. They also highlighted the three new Spartan and Elite armour variants, and they showed off the Halo: CE Flamethrower. While they did not showcase the other two Forge maps, Nebula and Skyward, they detailed both of them, confirmed Skyward's position near a Halo ring and Nebula's floating space setting, being the Impact we wanted originally. Anyways, PAX gave off some super gaming news. In news I'm not covering here, Halo 2 Anniversary has some new sound design, some new Dead Island 2 stuff was released, and Saints Row IV is getting a remake and some DLC. Let's get down to the news! View attachment: WNW 83014.JPG State of Decay Getting Xbox One Port State of Decay was massively well received as a breath of fresh air for the dying Zombie theme at the time of it's launch on Xbox Live and PC, being (at the time) an innovative experience as players lived in an ever changing, unscripted world with the undead running rampant, however today we see games like DayZ, H1Z1, and others accomplish the same in larger numbers. Xbox.com has the story as it was announced that State of Decay: Year One Survival Edition will be coming to Xbox One in 2015. It will include your typical remastered contents, the game with up-scaled graphics (1080p) and frames-per-second, all the DLC, and entirely new content yet unannounced. It will launch on an unconfirmed date in 2015, I would guess sometime in Early Spring though. Undead Labs, the developers of the game and it's port, will be revealing more info on the game and it's unannounced new features later on. Nintendo Announces New 3DS Design/"Next Gen" 3DS Selling tremendously well during it's two year run so far, the 3DS was a sleeper hit among many Nintendo business failures, like the Wii U. Polygon.com reports that Nintendo has announced two new and improved variants of the system, the regular new version and the XL version. The new system is labeled as, "The New 3DS" (Not kidding) will feature a better overall layout, improved CPU to allow games to run better on it, and an analog nub to act as a second thumbstick and new shoulder buttons. Other features include Amiibo integration, and sliding covers so that you can customize your 3DS with new skins. However, sad news for people who own the old 3DS, as they may be forced to upgrade in the future, with exclusive games being developed for the new hardward, with Xenoblade Chronicles being the first. The model will launch exclusively to Japan on October 11th, making it's way to the Western Market next year as a possibility. Halo: The Master Chief Collection Forge Revealed, Halo 3 Gameplay, etc. 343 Industries had a lot to reveal today at PAX at their conference, with Forge details being the highlight and a surprise viewing of Halo 3 in 1080p/60fps. Ducain23 (one of our partners) recorded the whole event, which can be seen at YouTube.com, showing off some new forge features and images on Ascension. Bug fixes like inconsistent magnetization and menu issues have been addressed and dealt with, and some old features like zoom and the much requested precision control have been brought back. We have a host of new features though, and I'll list and explain several of them here. You can now snap and align objects to the ground, allowing you to easily place something on terrain without issue. Next, the palette has been improved with new natural objects and structures, and you can now pick specific palettes for objects on maps. You can also create objects in the sky in Skyboxes, like in Sandbox in Halo 3 on the grid. You can script objects, and while we're not totally sure what this could mean, we can assume players can assign objects certain activation cues or interactions, like making objects into doors. Finally there is no more budget, and instead we have an object counter currently capped at 650, at least on Ascension. Halo 3 gameplay was also shown, as said before, and looked to have very little difference to it's last gen counterpart, you can view the whole thing in the link.   10. As the title says, this is an attempted full recap of the Halo panel at Gamescom, Day 1. First up it's the Halo Channel Next up is the Halo 5: Guardians Beta First Look. Lastly, we have the Sanctuary MCC reveal (Sanctuary is Reach's Asylum) The ranking system for MCC was mentioned somewhere (probably in the full panel, which HaloFollower has on his profile... which I don't feel like linking since it's not the official post), and I think P34nut has it on his thread. Soo colorful... And last, but not least, we have the Delta Halo Campaign Gameplay (Ardent Prayer). Welp I'll try to get some more information, but for now this is it.
