  1. What's up with Brutes? When I began playing Halo 4, and I learned that I'd be fighting Storm Covenant, a group that split from the main body, I thought "Great, maybe I'll finally get to fight Brutes and Elites at the same time!", but then I saw there were no Brutes in the game at all. Now, I know that Elites and Brutes hate each other, and that if I happened across a mixed group of them, it'd probably be reminiscent of the Covenant-Flood encounters in Halo: Combat Evolved. But still, I think they easily could have thrown that into the game. Brutes and Elites fighting over which race gets to control the rebellion, if it can be called that. Maybe they will. They certainly have to do something with Brutes in the next two games. Another idea: After playing through Halo 3: ODST on LASO, one may, as I have, develop an intense desire to visit the Brute home world and utterly destroy their race. I think that'd make a great game, as would so many other things in the Halo Universe. It doesn't even have to be Master Chief. It can be a Spartan-IV, but I'd prefer if you got to play as the Arbiter, or some Elite. The story could be that the Covenant, having overthrown the Prophets and others of their race and beating back the Brutes, were still being raided and harassed by the Brutes, and so they decide to move in on their home planet and eradicate them. However morbid it may be, I'd love to go into a building, find a little three-year old Brute, and smash its face in. ODST on LASO does that to you... Halo 4 was a fantastic game even without Brutes, let's just not forget they exist.
  2. There have been talks discussing what halo 5's story will be, obviously they aren't going to into all details about it yet but some interesting things have been discussed about the next story and also about it being on the next gen console. Read the article below for more details. Credit to Lil Dog for finding this. Source: Examiner "Halo 4" brought Master Chief back in a fitting way this holiday season, but this is only the beginning for what's still to come from the series and on next-generation systems. According to a report from Product Reviews on Thursday, apparently people are in favor of seeing the next few installments on next-generation platforms. "We could simply see 'Halo 4': Next-gen land with improved graphics for the Xbox 720 at an event next year, but we’d favor something totally new in the form of 'Halo 5' with some major improvements in physics and graphics, which would be the bonus for the second and third games in this trilogy if they launch on the Xbox 720. "If 'Halo 5' hasn’t been worked on this year then launching it next year might bring something with limited work done, so again this is why we’d prefer to see a 'Halo 5' more thought-out with a release date in 2014 on the next-gen Xbox," the report stated. It went on to discuss how the next installment of the series could perhaps explain more about how Master Chief came to be. "Some of the ideas we’ve seen for the 'Halo 5' story include the possibility of an episode in the theme of “Search for Spock“, which could see Master Chief leave Earth looking for Cortana, although we also hear that a lot of fans want to see how the Spartans were created and how they were broke to make them a Spartan. "This would also deliver a lot more insight into how MC had been created, and what process he had to go through," the report stated. This post has been promoted to an article
  3. Please tell me Cortana will be in halo 5, partnered back up with chief. I've been playing the series since I was around 6 or 7, right when it first came out. I can't stand the thought of losing cortana! You can't have a halo game without the inseparable pair of characters. I almost just wanna quit halo now. I love halo 4, but its makin me all depressed. Please keep cortana
  4. At the least we are 2 years off of Halo 5 but with all that time I think we could come up with somethings we would really want from it. It will be on Xbox 8, imagine what could happen. All your dreams of flying a pelican in multiplayer could come true, larger maps and more players, enough to really put the BIG in BTB, I'm not saying to get your hopes up too much but we are only limited by the hardware and 343i's ability to use it and to push it to the max. So... what would you like to see?
  5. Developers already talking about the Halo series and next gen console. In a recent article found at CVG.... 343 discusses Halo 5's next generation potential. Studio will take advantage of any technological developments in the console space. Halo 4 isn't out until November, but that hasn't stopped new series developer 343 Industries talking about the game's successors. Photo credit: 343 Industries/Microsoft "While he was careful not to walk into the trap of directly discussing the likelihood of Halo 5 and Halo 6 appearing on Xbox 720, 343's lead game designer Scott Warner told the Independent that the studio would take advantage of any potential new console hardware when it comes to making future series entries. "I mean certainly as things develop, we have the advantage of working for a publisher and first party development, and if things happen we would certainly want to take advantage of those things," he said. "There's always kind of a careful balancing act between what you decide to improve upon, what you have that you think is really good, what's the great mixture of that to put you in the best position to be successful as a team. But certainly as things go on in development we have an advantage in the sense that we can cross those streams a bit." Warner added: "Obviously we're always attuned to new developments with what's happening internally and externally. "Our current development is all centred around the Xbox 360 and trying to harness everything we can get out of that box, so everything you're seeing is sort of custom built for the 360 experience. Obviously depending on what happens and develops with our company, we'll try to develop our technology and take advantage of it." Will 343 be able to live up to the standards set by series creator Bungie? Get our latest hands-on impressions in this Halo 4 preview. Microsoft has confirmed a Halo 4 release date of November 6."
