  1. Hi, alot of Halo fans have been complaining about Halo 4. 343 have made some mistakes and have caused major issues in this game. I'm a major fan of Halo. But for the first time. I actually thought Halo 4 was screwed. The're are so many annoying things about this game. I actually rage so hard over this like no other Halo game. All my friends have quit playing. It's going borderline and Halo 4 or the next Halo needs to be better, because I believe if it keeps heading in this track it will go down hill. So I've decided to address this issue and I hope somebody listens to this and takes it seriously. Especially 343. Here is a list of some problems in this game. Bolshot is OP (Why get a shotgun or a scattershot in your ordinance when you spawn with a bolshot) Assault Rifle is OP (or atleast abit more powerful then any other Halo game) Spawning with plasma nades. Joining mid games Weapons despawn to quickly. Spawning with camo (noob combo = camo and bolshot) No good connection and good connection search No file share Bad playlists No veto No 1-50 rank system Auto pick up flag and can't drop it. No custom maps online Mantis is OP (Prefer a falcon instead) Wepaon spawns are reandom (You can't learn weapons spawns) Instant respawn Kill cams need fixing (glitchy) Spartan ops should be able to play offline Armor abilities NEED BALANCING. Now by reading this, you might think I'm just some player that's just winging about these problems. But these are actual problems. If you play this game and you're serious and like to 5 shot with the dmr and br, you will find that people spawning with plasma nades that spam them at you or run at you with assault rifles is annoying. Here is a video link to why the bolshot is annoying. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0cG0jGuTQ0 The bolshot is very stupid. It's only because you can spawn with it. I consider it as a power weapon. If you couldn't spawn with it, then It'd be abit more balanced. But since everyone has one all people do is camp around corners with camo and bolshot you. It's stupid. If you want to practice strafing and etc... It doesn't work against bolshots and assault rifles. It's very frustrating. This makes the game not enjoyable but annoying. Please take this seriously. It's a serious problem. If you agree or have anything else you would like to add, post it below. Once again, please take this seriously. Thanks. Here is a link to the same post that I posted on Halo waypoint. It's become a big post and alot of people agree with the post and have some opnions. Please consider reading everything and what the community is saying. We want you to LISTEN. We've posted this to an MLG Pro Ninja's live stream and on the stream he stated that he agreed with the post on waypoint (same post as this one) SO PLEASE LISTEN 343 https://forums.halow....osts&m=2143578
  2. okay, so after seeing a bunch of theories towards whether or not Cortana is alive, or composed into a human, a very interesting thought stormed into my head. Remember how Cortana is practically a copy of Dr. Halsey (with young appearance, intellect, etc.), meaning she is an A.I. clone so to speak? What if Cortana really DOES appear as a human in Halo 6, at the same time around Halsey's death, whether that's in Halo 5 or 6. Now, not only would Halsey's death be shocking, but it would also be a HUGE metaphor towards the relations Halsey had with clones. Halsey operated the SPARTAN-II Program, which she abducted children around the age of 6 and crafted clones of them that would last about 5 years or so, seeming as if the children were never taken (brought the clones back to the original human's home). Now for the metaphor: knowing how Halsey would clone children, later proving the clones would die off quick, it would be a grand twist to see Halsey dying around the time Cortana, "her clone", is revived (by being "composed" in Halo 4) as a human. Basically, Halsey had clones die in the past while her "clone" lives in the future after her death. Just an interesting brainstorm. What are your opinions?
  3. Developers already talking about the Halo series and next gen console. In a recent article found at CVG.... 343 discusses Halo 5's next generation potential. Studio will take advantage of any technological developments in the console space. Halo 4 isn't out until November, but that hasn't stopped new series developer 343 Industries talking about the game's successors. Photo credit: 343 Industries/Microsoft "While he was careful not to walk into the trap of directly discussing the likelihood of Halo 5 and Halo 6 appearing on Xbox 720, 343's lead game designer Scott Warner told the Independent that the studio would take advantage of any potential new console hardware when it comes to making future series entries. "I mean certainly as things develop, we have the advantage of working for a publisher and first party development, and if things happen we would certainly want to take advantage of those things," he said. "There's always kind of a careful balancing act between what you decide to improve upon, what you have that you think is really good, what's the great mixture of that to put you in the best position to be successful as a team. But certainly as things go on in development we have an advantage in the sense that we can cross those streams a bit." Warner added: "Obviously we're always attuned to new developments with what's happening internally and externally. "Our current development is all centred around the Xbox 360 and trying to harness everything we can get out of that box, so everything you're seeing is sort of custom built for the 360 experience. Obviously depending on what happens and develops with our company, we'll try to develop our technology and take advantage of it." Will 343 be able to live up to the standards set by series creator Bungie? Get our latest hands-on impressions in this Halo 4 preview. Microsoft has confirmed a Halo 4 release date of November 6."
  4. So i wanted to start a thread on the score to Halo 4 and what potentials Halo 5 could hold. I know there are mixed emotions regarding Halo 4's soundtrack. Me personally i like some elements and some not so much. There are only a couple of pieces for me that are really memorable. I think the soundtrack to Halo 4 stands for what it was meant to, which is to give an identity to the unique and awesome nature of the Forerunners. It feels alien and has the techy feel to match it. That being said it has nothing nearly as memorable as Breaking Benjamins Blow Me Away, or Reach's, soaring anthem. I would like to see a re-imagining if you will of how Bungie approached the soundtrack to Halo 2. Bring in some bands again to really dig in and give it some meat. Those were songs written by fans of the game. People who really enjoyed the story and just plain got it. I kno wthat 343 really wanted to create this large epic movie styled story, but for me there was no music in game that really got me pumped. That made me want to jump off my couch and be all like "hell yeah" take that you split lipped ba$&*rd$. Sound off marines.
  5. One of the things i am hoping for in halo 5 is prometian vehicles. I would like to know if there were promethian vehicles, what would they... 1) ...Be named 2) ...Look like 3) ...Have as weapons (i.e. ghost has dual guns, warthog has turret, and mongoose has none) 4) ...Travel by (wheels, hover, fly, treads) 5) ...Have as a UNSC equivelent (i.e. Wraith=Scorpian) 6) ...do when hijacked (i.e. explode like Wraith or taken over like ghost)
  6. Halo 5 Weapons: (What we want!) Introduction: Well, If it isn't already to start talking about Halo 5! Here we are going to talk about all of the awesome weapons we want in halo 5! Hope you enjoy! The Weapons: Flare Cannon: (Promethean) - This weapon is not designated as a weapon to directly inflict damage on your opposition, rather blind all enemies temporarily in its fired round's proximity, or any friendlies not careful enough to note it. I Feel the flare cannon should have the appearance of a stubby and bulky weapon with a single round magazine, spawning with about 3 rounds. Acid Hound: (Covenant) - This weapon would be a powerful close quarters weapon that sprays corrosive acid on close enemies, partially inflicting their vision whilst the acid lingers on the ground, slowing and damaging enemies, The weapons would be rare ordinance and run on charge / Fuel. SR - Support rifle (UNSC) - A fully automatic low rate of fire precision rifle with no zoom. Lots of ammunition and damage slightly lower than that of a Battle rifle's. This weapon would be great for helping you team mates by effortlessly dropping ammunition into your foes with ease to help speed up the kills in long streaks. Peirce rifle: (Covenant) - A powerful needle based sniper rifle with slightly shorter zoom than a regular sniper and a 3 shot kill, 2 to the head. With a slightly higher rate of fire than a regular sniper, but with less recoil. I feel a rifle as such with provide much more interesting game play to medium sized slayer and objective matches. Swarm Cannon: (UNSC) - This one is slightly more unusual for a halo game. A large very powerful rocket launcher that locks onto targets (Personnel / Vehciles ect.) and fires roughly 8 rockets very rapidly to seek in a obliterate targets. The introduction of this weapon would most likely subtract the rocket launcher's lock on feature. Honor Spear: (Covenant) - Referring to the large spears wielded by elite honor guards, this weapon would be a extended melee weapon, upon holding down the trigger initiates a charge feature, bringing you out to 3rd person and moving at a much faster than walking pace, upon walking into foes you would pierce and kill them. There would also be a feature for you to throw the spear at a foe instantly killing them yet leaving you without the spear and have it free for other to pick up. Normal attacks wont feature a lunge, but rather a 2 hit kill very rapid swing attack. SMG: (UNSC) [Returning] - I know that we all loved the SMG. However it was never quite cut out to be a Primary weapon, so i had the idea that it should be nerfed and designated a late unlock side arm. Which would be great for multiplayer game changing in small maps. With less damage than the AR of course. Pulse Rifle: (UNSC) - This weapon, i intend again to create interesting game changing. Upon firing this weapon a massive sonic wave would be sent out knocking over any enemies on front of you and slightly damaging their shields. Either giving you the upper hand in equal battles of give you the change to escape from large groups of enemies. This weapon would spawn with a very low ammo count. Rouge Rifle: (UNSC) - A loadout weapon unlocked either at a very high level or after a rigorous achievement, this weapon with a very small reticle yet much more powerful rounds and a low rate of fire. This weapon would be worked very well with a powerful scope, possibly with some sort or special system for seeking out enemies by outlining visible ones with a a red outline. This weapon would be very hard to use but in the hands of a skilled owner it could drop foes faster than the DMR. I will Submit more ideas soon! Thank you for reading! Please drop me a like (: and submit your responses below! Thanks again! -RAXS SLAYER
  7. I have been following Halo since I started playing HALO:CE so I decided to post 2 stuff me and 2 other friends want in Halo 5. 1.Choices in campaign We would like 343i to add choices in the campaign. Exampel: Chief is being possesed by some forerunner power and has to choose if he is to go easy and do as the forerunner say's or if he is going to fight for what's right. I know people will say it won't work because that would change the storyline but keep reading and you will hopefully understand how it would work. If you choose what's right you complete the "actuall" campaign, but if you choose the easy/bad stuff you will get an alternate/legendary ending. It would also help marketing because people want to know what happens next, so they will buy the next game being Halo 6 (if they do not add games that don't follow the reclaimer trilogy). 2.Forerunners We know the prometheans,we have heard about the forerunners, but have we ever got to fight alongside/against them? no! We would like to see some sort of twist in the campaign where chief and arby come to earth and see it's totally destroyed, so obviously they will think it is either the covenant or the promethean's but it turns out to be the last 30 - 40 forerunner's using they're extreme tech to attack earth because they could see progress in they're technology that threatened the forerunners.
  8. This has been around my mind for a while so I decided to share it here. It would be like normal Invasion (capture territories, destroy targets etc.) BUT, one major difference is that you play as ANY character of the side you are. For example, if you are on the Human side, you would randomly spawn as a low-ranked marine, an advanced marine with more armor, maybe ODST, and Spartan. And for the Covenant, grunt, jackal, elite etc. Or maybe even Prometheans would be awesome too! Imagine an Invasion match: Human vs Covenant vs Prometheans vs Flood! That would be incredible for us to see/play! Like the Humans defending their base form the Covenant and the Flood trying to sabotage or kill everyone, while Prometheans try to stop them! Now for the balancing part, players have 1~3 loadouts to choose, depending on their rank. I know that the only problem is the game balance, the gametype would work well, I believe. Post your thoughts or your ideas
  9. Just a list and some details that I think should be in Halo 5. Forge I liked the idea of 3 different forge maps for Halo 4. But those maps aren't as large as the original forge world, and most of the space was taken up by unnatural objects (buildings). I think there should still be multiple forge maps in Halo 5, but larger and more natural. Of course, many of the community (myself included) are very impressed by the Far Cry 3 map creator, which allows you to customize the landscape with terrain paint tools, water levels, weather, time of day, foliage placement, and much more. We would be very pleased if something similar were applied to Halo 5. I think it would be awesome if the forge ball was a sentinel instead, so the forger can defend themselves from other players. Firefight I wasn't particularly dissappointed by the disappearance of Firefight... Originally. Spartan Ops made a good replacement, until 343 stopped releasing episodes a few weeks ago. But the objective to simply survive has always enticed me, and I was extremely excited on the releases of Halo: ODST and Halo: Reach. I think there should be a firefight map editor (or creator), where we can place hostile and friendly spawns and drop points for troops and ordinance. Also, we should get the option as to who is friendly and who is hostile, so you can fight along covenant and hunt down marines. It would also be cool if the flood were involved in firefight, and a thick, green fog rolls in, and spores and flood sacs begin appearing. Weapons There were several great weapons in Halo 4 and Halo Reach. The Plasma Cannon and Plasma Rifle should make a return, as well as the SMG from Halo 2 and 3. The Halo Reach Magnum was a good balance between Halo CE and Halo 2's Magnums, but I think it would be cool if we had the heavy, slow firing, poweful magnum, along with the light, fast firing, weaker magnum, for tactical advantages. I think it would be great if there were weapon variants, like a standard SMG or a Suppresed SMG, or Tactical Battle Rifles (with some kind of alternate sights). Vehicles There should be assault and transport air vehicles, like banshees and hornets, and falcons and a light covenant transport. We should be able to tint vehicles the way we could change the colors of the mongooses in Halo Reach, for aesthetic and identification reasons. Large maps could have special vehicles, like the Elephants in Halo 3. There could also be more vehicle variants, like the heavy scorpion, which is like the Halo 2 scorpion, and the light scorpion, which is like the Halo 3 scorpion, but lighter armored and faster. This is a long shot, but maybe a large scale map with a huge amount of vehicles, resembling BF3's Armored Kill maps. Spartan Ops I think Spartan Ops should stay, but each mission have distinct locations, unless missions are meant to return to areas that we have been. Halo 4's Spartan Ops had several missions replay the same maps. But having several locations would keep Spartan Ops fresh. Matchmaking I think it would be best to go back to the Halo Reach/Halo 3 style playlist selection, with multiple playlists in different sections. And there should be different gametype variants like SWATguns or Hot Potato. And the old gametypes like VIP and Territories, and Assault should return, as well as standard infection, but keeping flood, or combining the two. Theater Theater mode should have different zoom options and post film editing tools, like fade, blur, contrast, etc.. There should also be a follow tool, like when normally following a player, but it stays focused at a certain angle on the player. There should also be camera shake and border options. I think I've covered just about everything. Tell me what you guys think of what I would like in Halo 5, and tell me what you guys want.
  10. I was thinking about many things that I would like in Halo 5. Some include different Forge genres like UNSC pieces, Covenant pieces, and Forerunner pieces. I had an idea for the campaign as well. Technically, the Flood was wiped out on the Installations Humans visited, so maybe they stumble across more Flood on an Installation they haven't been to yet. For multiplayer, we should have multiple species to play as. For example, there could be a game mode of ODST's versus Brutes, or Spartans versus Promethean Knights. Finally, there should be AIs we can fight against in Custom Games to mix things up a little and boost the awesome Halo experience to the next level. If anyone from 343i reads this, please take these ideas into consideration. They have a high chance of not making it into the final copy of Halo 5, but at least I would know that workers at 343i took time out of their day to read this. Good luck on the production of Halo 5! -xXFor3runn3rXx1
  11. Wouldn't it be cool if Halo 5 had a survival against Flood with some sort of backstory to it? Like different rounds with a bunch of people helping you and more flood attack as the rounds go on If you have anything to add to this then fell free to reply
  12. So, it's nice that you can edit your emblem in the past few Halo games, but why only primary emblem and background? Wouldn't it be better if we had a more variable, unique emblem? Take, for example, the Black Ops emblem customization (). And don't start arguing because it 'copies' COD... many other games have this feature. Now back to the topic, all the 'pieces' you would use should be unlocked by default, or have some special rare emblems that need a specific task to unlock. If you have something to say or share, post it here please Thank you.
  13. Hey community I'm new here so I want to know what some people would like to see in halo5. My Ideas A big forge maps with lots of customize ability A wide variety of weapons and vehicles Let's go back and see the arbiter and elites What a bout a battle between the storm covenant and old covenant Firefight and Spartan ops Recon armor is a must Maybe customizable firefight maps like adding AI Playable prometheans and elites Lots of customizable armor
  14. Dear 343 Industries, I hope you would consider my idea of forging are own firefight maps (placing where enemies spawn or get dropped off, ordance drops, building the battle feild). Giving us the ability to create an whole new type of custom games. and also maybe bring spartan ops to halo 5
  15. I want something closer to Halo 2, but nothing incredibly different from Halo 4. Halo 2 had a story that was completely different from the rest of the games because it followed a Dual story that kissed in small but major parts. That was a deeper, more intense story perspective then following one character story ark. This could convey a more eleberate Universe and throw single character Idea to the back seat to explore more then one personal storyline featuring characters that we care about in the canon. With that kind of Expression we can only enhance the wonderful new Story line 343 started in 4. Personally, Thel Vadum, aka the Arbiter, Is a far more complex and deeper character in the Halo story, who has complimented the game's story in a way that has yet to be retouched since Halo 2. His partner Half Jaw is another likely character whom i feel needs a solid role in the games, being as Human characters don't raise the bar in a compelling story as playing as a non human character because we know what to expect. Imagine playing as Thel Lost in a furunner City trying to fight through waves of furruner constructs to find soemthing important later in the series, while say Chief missions run between them and intersect at parts. Non Human Playable Characters brings Better Diversity to this beloved game universe. Their is a certain sense of Mystery involved with playing multiple character missions and stories that enhance the game farther then ever before, Opening a much Grander Scale i feel should be revisted and EXPANDED UPON.
  16. What do you think? Should she return, perhaps reset, or another AI emulating her? Or a new AI entirely, no AI partner a all, etc. Personally, I feel he should go it alone, but with heavy emphasis on his emotional response to the sense of being alone. You know, sort of how Isaac in Dead Space 2 was constantly being haunted by the passing of his earlier love interest, though not as literal, and not as frightening. What I speak of is also similar to the build up toward finding Cortana in Halo 3, where she would be flashed at you then and again, speaking to you, as if apart of her was still in you. And after all of this build up, she returns at either the end of five or at the end of six, with a follow up game to the Saga, like how Reach was a prequel, Halo (for lack of a better term) 7 would be the epilogue, with the story being centered around John and Cortana. Well that is my idea. What is yours?
  17. Hi people,I love elites very much,I am a big fan of them, but I wanted to know your opinion in Halo Campaign without elites. My opinion is Halo is not anymore Halo without our snoozy silly Covy, our Elites. For me Halo without elites is like sun without light.Make your opinions!
  18. I know this shouldn't really be in the Halo 4 section but there isn't really a proper section for this so here'll do . Quite simply does anyone else think Halo 5 will be released along side the Xbox '720' in 2013. It seems logical to me anyway as MS will obviously want Halo to be released alongside their new console because I for one would by it if Halo came with it. And it's pretty much common knowledge the new Xbox is coming our next year so does anyone else think that, that means Halo 5 will have a 2013 release date?
  19. Here we have another small insider for Halo 5, again mot much is revealed as it is still in very early stages. Read the article below for details and a couple of questions answered by 343 Industries franchide development director Frank O'connor. Source: Product Reviews. There are some things you’ve got to ask when in the middle of an interview, and in respect of the Halo 4 launch and the future of this franchise, it had to be details about Halo 5 and Xbox 720 that an interviewer would try and find segments of information. This is exactly what happened when Brier Dudley performed an interview with Halo development director at 343 Industries, Frank O’Connor, and asked about Halo 5. From the answers given above you can pretty much count on a Halo 5 arriving at some point, unless Halo 4 is a complete disaster, and the fact that it will be crucial to the the Xbox 720 launch. You can read the full interview in this article, which delivers some interesting information but certainly lacks the finer details we’d all want to know about Xbox 720. The interviewer had been digging for juicy details and they would’ve been hoping for something to slip out during questioning.
  20. Halo forge was one of the greatest ideas yet for video game creativty. But it can be improved even more, people that like forge dont want simplicity for the most part, they want to be able recreate their own world. I propose being able to do just that. A forge where you start out and its just a blank white world, first you chose your background. do want your world to be in space? how about underwater, or on an open valley, a grand canyon, anything you can imagine. then develop your landscape with a new tool, one that you can edit the landscape with; for example select a shape then the amount of area, then pull or push the area to create a hill or a valley, and add lots of other unique things to it. If they added this tool it would be a huge improvement to forge. Add more sceanery! give us tons of options, everything! let us create what ever we want to. Please let us put down AI's. More vehicles, more guns! More more more!!! please comment and add on more ideas.
  21. To 343 Industries: First of all, I'd like to congratulate you all on Halo 4. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I started playing it on Solo Legendary about 6:00 the Friday it came out, and had it beat by 2:00 the next day. It was very engaging. I have beaten all the Halo games on Solo Legendary, ODST and Reach on LASO, and I am currently working through the Halo books, so I consider myself well-versed in the Halo Universe. I think you did a great job of keeping true to the feel of Halo, and the new Master Chief looks awesome. I especially loved the intro with Dr. Halsey, it really got me pumped for the game. However, I have some concerns. 1) The legendary ending of Halo 4 shows a glimpse of Master Chief's face. It only flashed for a second, so I only had time to see the intensity in his eyes, but I was still shocked. The face of SPARTAN-117 cannot be shown. Please do not continue to do so. Perhaps some have requested it, but the die-hard fans of Halo do NOT want this. 2) I saw that there are tentative ideas about revealing more about Master Chief's past and the origin of the Spartans in Halo 5. I am not against this, but I fear that if you try to put that into a game focused on the Forerunner story, then it will be butchered. Those areas merit a game to themselves, if it is done right. For example, if the plan is to have Master Chief experience flashbacks throughout Halo 5, I disagree. While in Halo 4, you did a good job of not making our hero too sentimental, flashbacks would suggest that his resolve is failing. It would be a disappointment to fans. But that's just an example. 3) In Halo 4, I saw the Covenant lose their edge a little. They weren't as difficult to deal with as in other games. Please don't downgrade them to make the new enemies appear tougher. Rather, keep the Covenant the same, and upgrade the Prometheans. These points are all I'm really worried about. I believe that the next game in the series will be magnificent. Also, thank you so much for letting us pilot a Longsword! It is now my favorite vehicle.

  23. What's up with Brutes? When I began playing Halo 4, and I learned that I'd be fighting Storm Covenant, a group that split from the main body, I thought "Great, maybe I'll finally get to fight Brutes and Elites at the same time!", but then I saw there were no Brutes in the game at all. Now, I know that Elites and Brutes hate each other, and that if I happened across a mixed group of them, it'd probably be reminiscent of the Covenant-Flood encounters in Halo: Combat Evolved. But still, I think they easily could have thrown that into the game. Brutes and Elites fighting over which race gets to control the rebellion, if it can be called that. Maybe they will. They certainly have to do something with Brutes in the next two games. Another idea: After playing through Halo 3: ODST on LASO, one may, as I have, develop an intense desire to visit the Brute home world and utterly destroy their race. I think that'd make a great game, as would so many other things in the Halo Universe. It doesn't even have to be Master Chief. It can be a Spartan-IV, but I'd prefer if you got to play as the Arbiter, or some Elite. The story could be that the Covenant, having overthrown the Prophets and others of their race and beating back the Brutes, were still being raided and harassed by the Brutes, and so they decide to move in on their home planet and eradicate them. However morbid it may be, I'd love to go into a building, find a little three-year old Brute, and smash its face in. ODST on LASO does that to you... Halo 4 was a fantastic game even without Brutes, let's just not forget they exist.

Source: Examiner "Halo 4" brought Master Chief back in a fitting way this holiday season, but this is only the beginning for what's still to come from the series and on next-generation systems. According to a report from Product Reviews on Thursday, apparently people are in favor of seeing the next few installments on next-generation platforms. "We could simply see 'Halo 4': Next-gen land with improved graphics for the Xbox 720 at an event next year, but we’d favor something totally new in the form of 'Halo 5' with some major improvements in physics and graphics, which would be the bonus for the second and third games in this trilogy if they launch on the Xbox 720. "If 'Halo 5' hasn’t been worked on this year then launching it next year might bring something with limited work done, so again this is why we’d prefer to see a 'Halo 5' more thought-out with a release date in 2014 on the next-gen Xbox," the report stated. It went on to discuss how the next installment of the series could perhaps explain more about how Master Chief came to be. "Some of the ideas we’ve seen for the 'Halo 5' story include the possibility of an episode in the theme of “Search for Spock“, which could see Master Chief leave Earth looking for Cortana, although we also hear that a lot of fans want to see how the Spartans were created and how they were broke to make them a Spartan. "This would also deliver a lot more insight into how MC had been created, and what process he had to go through," the report stated. View full article
